Conventional thermoacoustic engines have a stack pore radius that is almost constant in the axial direction. Hence, a thermoacoustic engine is expected to improve the energy conversion efficiency using a multistage stack with multiple pore radii. The stack comprises several bundles of numerous narrow tubes with specified pore radii. The optimum pore radius of the stack is determined by the oscillation frequency and the temperature in the stack. Consequently, the suitable pore radius changes in the axial direction, because the temperature gradient exists along the stack axis. Therefore, a multistage stack with multiple pore radii is introduced, which achieves a desired optimum pore radius everywhere in the stack. The energy conversion efficiency of the multistage stack, which was studied experimentally for a straight-tube type thermoacoustic engine, was compared with that of a conventional single-stage stack. In these experiments, the improvement of the energy conversion efficiency was confirmed. A numerical method with the transmittance matrix to include the effect of a multistage stack was used, and good agreement between experimental and numerical results was obtained. The results make a future possibilities for stack design intended to higher thermoacoustic engine efficiency expect.  相似文献

The simple goal of this work is constructing a cheap, demonstrative model of a thermoacoustic refrigerator. To this end, the author succeeded in designing, building and testing the first pilot thermoacoustic refrigeration in Jordan basing on the theory of using sound waves as a coolant. The pilot thermoacoustic refrigerator was built from inexpensive and readily available parts in Mutah University, Jordan. The thermoacoustic refrigerator was operated for several hours. Consequentially, this experiment proved that thermoacoustic refrigerators were technically possible. Additionally, this experiment did yield some findings regarding the efficiency of thermoacoustic refrigeration. On other hand, solid flow CFD software was used to simulate the performance of thermoacoustic refrigerator especially the temperature and velocity inside the refrigerator. This paper analyzes the onset characteristics of a miniature thermoacoustic Stirling heat engine using the ther-modynamic analysis method. The governing equations of components are reduced from the basic thermodynamic relations and the linear thermoacoustic theory. By solving the governing equation group numerically, the oscillation frequencies and onset temperatures are obtained. The dependences of the kinds of working gas, the length of resonator tube, the diameter of resonator tube, on the oscillation frequency are calculated. Meanwhile, the influences of hydraulic radius and mean pressure on the onset temperature for different working gas are also presented. The calculation results indicate that there exists an optimal dimensionless hydraulic radius to obtain the lowest onset temperature, whose value lies in the range of 0.30 0.35 for different working gases. Furthermore, the amplitude and phase relationship of pressures and volume flows are analyzed in the time-domain. Some experiments have been performed to validate the calculations. The calculation results agree well with the experimental values. Finally, an error analysis is made, giving the reasons that cause the errors of theoretical calculations.  相似文献

Oscillatory flow in a thermoacoustic sound wave generator is described. The thermoacoustic sound wave generator plays an important role in thermoacoustic equipment. The heat exchange between the working fluid and the stack, the acceleration and deceleration of the working fluid and viscous friction loss both in the stack and in the resonance tube influence the performance of the thermoacoustic sound wave generator. Particularly, oscillatory flow significantly influences the heat exchange mechanism between the working fluid and the stack. Temporal changes in pressure and velocity are sinusoidal inside the resonance tube. Flow forms an oscillatory jet just behind the tube outlet, and becomes intermittent far downstream outside the resonance tube. The open-end corrections of 0.63R, that is, the region where oscillatory flow characteristics are maintained downstream in spite of being outside the tube outlet, are confirmed by velocity measurements and flow visualization. Also, they are almost equal to acoustical theoretical results.  相似文献

Preliminary design and simulation of a free piston engine suitable for small-scale energy production in distributed energy systems is presented in this paper. The properties, particularly the properties of gas seals of the engine are simulated using a simulation program developed for this case, and the results are utilized in preliminary main design parameter selection. The engine simulation program was developed by combining and modifying the source codes of the simulation and calculation programs obtained from Helsinki University of Technology, Tampere University of Technology, and Lappeenranta University of Technology. Because of the contact-free labyrinth seal used in the piston, the efficiency of the motor is lower than the efficiency of a conventional motor with oil lubricated piston rings. On the other hand, the lack of bearing losses, and the lack of losses associated with a crankshaft system and a gearbox, as well as the lack of lubrication oil expenses, compensates this effect. As a net result, this new motor would perform slightly better than the conventional one. Being completely oil-free, it is very environmentally friendly, and its exhaust gases are completely free of oil residuals which are causing problems in normal gas motors.  相似文献

This paper presents a new model used to describe the propagation of pressure waves at the inlet systems of internal combustion engine. In the first part, an analogy is made between the compressible air in a pipe and a mechanical ideal mass damper spring system. A new model is then presented and the parameters of this model are determined by the use of an experimental setup (shock tube test bench). With this model, a transfer function is defined in order to link directly the pressure and the air mass flow rate. In the second part, the model is included into an internal combustion engine simulation code. The results obtained with this code are compared to experimental ones which are measured on a one-cylinder engine test bench. This last one is driven by an electric motor in order to study only the effect of the pressure waves on the engine behavior. A good agreement is obtained between the experimental results and the numerical ones and the new approach is an alternative method for modeling the pressure wave phenomena in an internal combustion engine manifold.  相似文献

This paper proposes a loop-tube type thermoacoustic heating system without any moving parts based on the thermoacoustic effect. In a thermoacoustic heating system, the supplied sound is converted to heat and the heating point is heated. A thermoacoustic heating system differs from a thermoacoustic cooling system: The location of the reference temperature section at the heat pump is upside down. The authors construct a prototype ofthermoacoustic heating system. The experimental results show that the heating point reaches 100 ~C. It must be emphasized that, using this simple and inexpensive thermoacoustic heating system, noise, waste heat and unused heat are useful as a renewable energy source.  相似文献

Biodiesel derived from indigenous feed stocks such as Tylosema esculentum kernel oil is deemed a feasible alternative to petroleum diesel for the diesel engine. This paper presents results of investigation of performance and emissions characteristics of diesel engine using Tylosema biodiesel. In this investigation, Tylosema biodiesel was prepared, analyzed and compared with the performance of petroleum diesel fuel using a single cylinder compression ignition diesel engine. The specific fuel consumption, engine torque, engine brake power, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide were analyzed. The tests showed a decrease in engine brake power and torque with increase in engine load, while specific fuel consumption showed an increasing trend with maximum variation of 33% between the two fuels at engine load of 90%. Emission levels of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide showed an increasing trend with increase in load for both fuels. Tylosema biodiesel produced significantly lower concentrations of hydrocarbons than petroleum diesel, while levels of carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide were largely comparable to those of petroleum diesel. Soot production from combustion ofTylosema biodiesel was found to be approximately 98% lower than that from combustion of petroleum biodiesel, demonstrating insignificant contribution to environmental pollution.  相似文献

When the shock wave propagating in the straight circular tube reaches at the open end, the impulsive wave is generated by the emission of a shock wave from an open end, and unsteady pulse jet is formed near the open end behind the impulsive wave under the specific condition. The pulse jet transits to spherical shock wave with the increase in the strength of shock wave. The strength is dependent on the Mach number of shock wave, which attenuates by propagation distance from the open end. In this study, the mechanism of generating the unsteady pulse jet, the characteristics of the pressure distribution in the flow field and the emission of shock wave from straight circular tube which has the infinite flange at open end are analyzed numerically by the TVD method. Strength of spherical shock wave, relation of shock wave Mach number, distance decay of spherical shock wave and directional characteristics are clarified.  相似文献

The paper concerns the phenomena of the fluid film that occurs in the bearing chamber of an aircraft engine.The geometry of the system includes two concentric cylinders,between which there is a mixture of oil and air.The fluid circulates in a closed circuit.The rotary movement of the inner cylinder causes creation of the fluid film on the walls of the chamber.The article proposes a measurement method that is allowing observation of this fluid film and,in particular,analysis of the movement of the air bubbles occurring in the film.An own model of the bearing chamber with transparent walls was constructed for the research.For the investigation,water was used instead of oil.Observation of the behaviour of the flow was possible thanks to video recordings made with the use of a fast-capture camera.The results presented in the paper include velocity magnitudes of the air bubbles in the fluid film in dependence on the rotational speed of the shaft and water volume fraction and with a range from 0.37 to 0.91 m/s.The results presented in this article can be used for the bearing chamber numerical models validation.  相似文献

The present paper deals with the design and optimization of a heat driven thermoacoustic refrigerator. A simplified model is developed which enables to pinpoint and examine the most important physical characteristics of a compact traveling wave thermoacoustic refrigerator driven by a traveling wave thermoacoustic engine. The model can explain the so-called traveling standing wave effect in thermoacoustics very well. The position, length and hydraulic radius of the refrigerator are optimized for the maximum total COP. The prime mover efficiency, refrigerator COP and dimensionless dissipation and their impacts on total COP are investigated and discussed. The results indicate that a COP of 28.7% at TRF,cold = 273 K is achievable.  相似文献

随着对热声热机研究的深入,特别是行波热声发动机概念的提出,热声发动机效率得到了质的提高。为了实现热声发动机与制冷机的良好匹配,以氦气为工质时热声发动机需具有较低的起振温度、较大的压力波强度、较好的单频率特性。本文对自行研制的新型热声发动机进行了深入研究,以氦气为工质,在充气压力为2.0MPa时获得了1.19的压比,系统频率稳定在约73Hz,为利用新型热声发动机驱动脉管制冷机或其它热声制冷机创造了有利条件。此外,该热声发动机起振温度较低,初步具备了利用工业废热等低品位能源驱动的条件。  相似文献

The problem of thermagoustic (thermo-magneto-acoustic) irreversibility near a single-plate, representative of the stack in a thermoacoustic engine, is modeled and analyzed in this paper. Assumptions (long wave, short stack, small amplitude oscillation, boundary layer type flow, etc.) are made to enable simplification of the governing continuity, momentum, and energy equations to achieve analytical solutions for velocity, temperature, and pressure. A general equation for entropy generation is derived from first principles that accounts for the transverse magnetic force present in a magnetohydrodynamic system. This entropy generation equation is then simplified in order to model the specific thermoacoustic situation considered in this paper. Finally, a time-averaged entropy generation rate followed by a global entropy generation rate are calculated and graphically presented for further analysis.  相似文献

Heat transfer process in thermoacoustic engine is affected by acoustic oscillation which makes it different from the heat transfer in steady flow. This study pays attention to the flow and heat transfer characteristics of thermoacoustic engine driven by loudspeaker. Thermal infrared imager and particle image velocimetry (PIV) were used to investigate the temperature and flow fields under two heat levels (150 °C and 200 °C). The radial and axial temperature distribution was analyzed through dimensionless temperature. To explore the appropriate working frequency, resonance characteristic was discussed. The experimental results illustrated that the first resonance frequency is the most effective driving frequency where thermoacoustic system shows the best performance. Heat transfer mode changed from natural convection to forced convection with the addition of acoustic oscillation. Original temperature field induced by heat convection was destroyed and temperature gradient redistributed as parabolic after sound addition.  相似文献

In this study, the thermodynamic performance of a thermoacoustic engine charged with different working fluids were examined at different tilted angles ranging from ?90° to 90° with 45° angular interval. The results suggest that the influence of the tilted angle on the onset temperature of the engine depends on the viscidity of the working gas. The lower the viscidity is, the more obvious the influence is. The difference between the maximum and the minimum onset temperature of the engine charged with nitrogen could be as high as 52 °C, but the difference for system charged with helium is only about 1.5 °C. The tilted angle has little or no effect on the pressure oscillation amplitude, pressure ratio, resonance frequency and the relation of the temperature versus heat power. They are mainly affected by the properties of the working gas. Furthermore, the interactions of the oscillatory motion and the natural convection of the working gas within the thermoacoustic core were also examined. The properties are of importance for the thermoacoustic engine driven by two-axis solar collector, for the tilted angle of the engine varies with the sun position.  相似文献

针对水下高速航行器用镁基水反应金属燃料冲压发动机,设定了3种质量组分配比的燃料,结合热力计算和二维轴对称数值模拟研究其工作特性。其中,两进水口处观测到的漩涡预言了在燃料燃烧过程中引发热声振荡的可能性。在3种燃料发动机各自的有效水燃比范围内,通过数值模拟可知两次水燃比的分配直接影响发动机内的燃烧稳定性;总水燃比的增加会引发一个最大的比冲值,同时热效率和推进效率分别单调增加和降低。另外,数值模拟和热力计算结果均显示燃料中镁含量的增加有益于发动机比冲及热效率的增加。本研究中燃烧特性、比冲及效率等工作特性随发动机工况的变化规律特征,可指导发动机整体结构构型及总体性能优化的方向,同时可对发动机内潜在的热声振荡特性进行预估以便设计相应的抑制策略。  相似文献

Thermoacoustic engine is a kind of novel heat engine based on thermoacoustic effect, with the merits of environmental benignity, simplicity, and reliability. In this work, looped travelling-wave thermoacoustic electric generators (LTTEGs) with one to four thermoacoustic stages have been developed and experimentally studied. It is observed that adding thermoacoustic stages can improve the thermal-electric efficiency of LTTEGs, while whether the extra stages lead to efficiency gain depends on the number of existing stages and other operating parameters (hot temperature, for instance). One main reason is that the Gedeon streaming, which might cause severe heat loss, can be enhanced by adding thermoacoustic stages and increasing hot temperature. The results suggest that the suppression of streaming in the looped thermoacoustic engine with multiple stages is even more urgent than in the traditional travelling-wave engine with only one stage.  相似文献

分析热声耦合领域和内燃机爆震的研究现状,给出根据KIVA燃烧模型推导出的三维波动方程,将之与KIVA相耦合,对一台内燃机爆震燃烧时的声波进行计算.结果显示,燃烧室内声学波动频率很高,且爆震时其幅值可达数个兆帕.对比实测爆震气缸压力高频信号可知,该波动方程可正确计算爆震时燃烧室内声波.对比高速摄影实验结果.声场计算结果和气体获得声功的分布图可知,声场的振荡比火焰传播更快、更复杂;内燃机燃烧的热声振荡没有特定部位稳定声功的输出或输入.最后,总结了常规热声机和内燃机热声耦合性质的异同.  相似文献
