This paper explains the fundamentals of the leadership-based education model, and proceeds to apply the relevant principles to re-engineer the Productivity Initiative Programme, run by the European Commission to re-train 3500 Russian executives. The authors considered the retraining of executives to constitute a project whose goals and delivery means were ambiguous at the commencement of the programme. They realized at the outset that success of any methodology would depend on the extent of empowerment of the participant executives achieved, and on the release of their creative energies, as well as time. The leadership-based project management approach was chosen to specifically respond to the empowerment of the participants and engage them positively in the definition of the goals, context of application and the delivery of the programme goals. Using the empowerment philosophy the authors set out to re-engineer the entire programme to make it project-based, while providing a structured learning experience that would achieve a paradigm shift in the mindsets of the participants without offending their cultural sensibilities. To create learning focus and continuity the authors chose to recommend preparation of business plans by the syndicate executives as the primary learning vehicle and as means of progress monitoring and performance evaluation. Business plans were to reflect the realities of Russia's business and cultural environment as perceived by the participants. Thus, learning through application (as part of a total internship experience), was deliberately adopted to demystify ‘business management’ and to encourage development of competency in business planning in the designated time. The success achieved so far indicates that leadership-based project management is a powerful approach to achieving accelerated cultural changes and transformation of human mindsets in a pluralistic and focused manner.  相似文献

介绍了界面管理在工程项目管理中的重要性,从业主角度对工程项目管理中的界面进行了分类。文章分析了传统界面刚性管理手段不足之处,提出了进行项目界面管理必须在刚性管理的基础上引入柔性管理手段,通过刚性手段实现项目管理的正规化,采用柔性手段增加项目组织对环境的应变能力,降低项目运行成本。文章提出了项目界面管理的四个主要原则即一体化原则、柔性与刚性互补原则、利益相关性和目标一致性原则、整体性原则,并应用这些原则对四类主要界面的管理进行了论述。  相似文献

Construction management requires engineers to acquire effectively and efficiently management experience. Most experience management (EM) in the construction industry focuses on explicit experience (such as writing reports and documents). Furthermore, tacit experience is usually more difficult to acquire than explicit experience. This study proposes an After the Issue Review (AIR) approach to acquire experience from engineers involved in construction projects, and effectively enhance experience sharing through a web‐based platform. Moreover, an AIR Construction Pattern (AIRCP) scheme is proposed and utilized to codify and edit the acquired experience. The web‐based experience management system presents a user‐friendly interface of an experience‐sharing platform, through which engineers learn valuable tacit experience derived from previous projects. Finally, a case study involving tunnel construction for expressway projects in Taiwan is utilized to validate the proposed approach and demonstrate the effectiveness of experience acquisition and management in construction.  相似文献

Explored in this paper is the topic of designing a construction management (CM) data visualization environment with emphasis on its use for supporting the time management function during the planning and execution phases of construction projects which are characterized by sizeable volumes of data of different types. A brief overview of recent construction data visualization work is first provided. Then, as part of a top-down design approach, we introduce concepts and useful terminology related to a structured way of thinking about analytical reasoning and visual analytics, and their relationship with construction management functions. The focus of the latter then shifts to how a construction data visualization environment can support project participant analytical reasoning needs for the management of time, specifically planning/predicting and monitoring/diagnosing/controlling construction conditions and time performance. A case study of aspects of an actual project examined using the construction data visualization environment developed to date is then presented. Purposes served include demonstrating the breadth of support that can be offered for reasoning by such an environment, and providing a test case for demonstrating the kind of evaluation process one should engage in to assess how well an environment conforms to the requirements set out for it. Time management functions treated for this case study include assessing quality of a baseline schedule, assessing actual vs. planned construction conditions and time performance, and assessing reasons for deviations. An evaluation of the current environment is then made to assess conformance/non-conformance with the requirements established for it and to identify worthwhile extensions to it. The paper concludes with a discussion of lessons learned from work performed to date, and their application to create a more comprehensive visualization environment that supports multiple CM functions.  相似文献

建设工程项目面临很大的不确定,柔性是一种应对不确定性的有效工具。以往柔性的研究通常集中在运作管理、供应链、战略管理等领域,建设工程领域关于柔性的探讨有限,且多集中于项目的生产属性,忽视了项目的交易属性。在文献综述的基础上,工程项目的不确定性表现在:项目需求、项目管理绩效达成、交易双方相互关系3个方面;基于此,建设工程项目的柔性被划分为项目产品柔性、过程柔性和合同柔性,研究了柔性的获得渠道;建立了不同条件下建设工程项目柔性策略矩阵;并对未来建设工程项目柔性的研究做了展望。  相似文献

We propose that integrated management of construction risk and stakeholder is feasible and can promote the effectiveness of both risk management (RM) and stakeholder management (SM). A systematic literature review is conducted on the current construction literature involving both RM and SM, through which we identify four linkage modes between risk and stakeholder management. We further suggest future directions that enable integrating risk and stakeholder management to benefit the management process and/or management outcome of RM and SM. These linkages and directions shed light on enhancing the effectiveness of RM and SM through new ways of thinking about, analyzing, and then managing risks and stakeholders in a holistic and integrated way, but not the traditional endeavor in individual areas. Integrating risk and stakeholder management is challenging, but can be a novel way for improving project performance for which this research conceptually justifies its feasibility and benefits, which merits further study.  相似文献

This research has mainly focused on the practice of knowledge management in Thai construction projects at the on-site work level. The main objective was to identify whether or not knowledge factors influence on-site execution of works. A combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches was employed. The focus group interview with 16 construction managers was conducted to gather in-depth information related to practice of project knowledge management. This data was used to develop the questionnaire to explore key knowledge factors. The questionnaire was sent to 103 participants in 70 construction projects in Thailand. The survey data were analyzed by factor analytic techniques to identify key knowledge factors influencing on-site construction works. The findings showed that there were six key knowledge factors: (1) visionary leadership, (2) reward or incentive, (3) collaboration, (4) trust, (5) information technology, and (6) individual competency or skills.  相似文献
