Third-harmonic conversion of a CO2 laser in gaseous CD 4 with an efficiency enhanced by two orders of magnitude over that previously achieved is reported, and results which demonstrate the effectiveness of confining the nonlinear process in a hollow, dielectric waveguide are given. Using a high-power excimer laser, pumped dye laser third-harmonic generation in strontium was investigated around several two-photon resonances for input intensities which are well above the onset of saturation. The dominant role of self-defocusing and of the time-dependent redistribution of the population densities is demonstrated. Strong stimulated emission on several transitions branching off from the excited state of the two-photon resonance and several competing parametric processes have been observed. Good agreement is obtained with a theoretical model which accounts for the redistribution of the population densities and which shows the importance of the ac Stark effect for the central structure of the high-intensity conversion profiles.  相似文献

以分步离散傅里叶变换和四阶R-K法为基础,给出了解决激光三次谐波转换逆问题(即已知输出三倍频光场分布以及三次谐波转换器参数的情况下,求解输入基频光场分布)的方法,对三次谐波转换的逆问题进行了数值计算和分析,并讨论了逆算的初始光场条件对迭代计算次数及计算精度的影响。结果表明,对于设定的输出三倍频光场分布,可通过逆解三次谐波转换过程及数值迭代方法,求得相应的输入基频光场分布。  相似文献

为了使谐波转换系统保持高效稳定的3次谐波转换,采用数值模拟的方法,研究了基频光脉冲波形对3倍频转换效率的影响,并对高斯脉冲和平顶脉冲的不同谐波转换特点作了详细分析.当基频光为高斯脉冲时,在3GW/cm2的输入条件下最佳的2倍频转换效率为56.8%,低于理论预计的66.7%.进一步计算了不同功率密度下,最佳2倍频转换效率与超高斯脉冲阶数的关系.当考虑空间走离效应,基频光时间和空间均为平顶分布时,最佳的2倍频转换效率为62%;若基频光时间为平顶分布、空间分布为高斯分布时,最佳2倍频转换效率为51%,进一步地偏离66.7%.结果表明,当基频光脉冲形状偏离理想的平顶分布时,适当地降低2倍频转换效率,可提高3倍频转换效率.  相似文献

为了研究高效的宽带三次谐波转换技术,采用了分步傅里叶变换和四阶Runge-Kutta法对CLBO晶体的宽带三倍频过程进行了数值模拟,分析了单倍单混和单倍双混模式下三倍频转换效率随入射基频光强度、频谱带宽的变化关系,并与KDP晶体的宽带三倍频转换特性进行了对比。在强度为3GW/cm2的40阶超高斯脉冲入射下,得到单倍双混模式下三倍频转换效率达到60%时对应的频谱宽度为650GHz,这与利用KDP晶体在相同条件下获得的频谱宽度相比,提高了近250GHz。研究结果表明,在单倍双混模式下使用CLBO晶体作为频率转换的非线性晶体可以有效地提高宽带三倍频的转换效率。  相似文献

最近报导了在原子蒸气中,工作在三能级双光子近共振情形的光学双稳实验。由于在F-P腔内形成对双光子跃迁消除Doppler效应的结构,所有原子都对光学双稳的形成具有贡献,因此会形成较好的双稳特性。本文试图对双光子共振介质中的双稳特性进行一般性的理论分析,包括稳态双光子离共振情形,稳态双光子近共振情形以及瞬态双光子近共振情形。 对于双光子离共振情形,本文不需引入通常采用的平均场近似,便可得到一般非线性标准具的双稳特性方程组。  相似文献

A new configuration based on the polarization-mismatching scheme with time delay for efficient frequency tripling conversion is proposed in this paper. The calculated results showed that the requirement for the efficient frequency tripling conversion of a 1-ps laser pulse is not only the optimization of peak intensity of the second-harmonic pulse, but also the optimization of the pulse duration ratio and temporal difference between the o-polarization second-harmonic pulse and the e-polarization first-harmonic pulse due to group-velocity mismatch among the interacting pulses. With the proposed scheme the group velocity mismatch can be compensated. Overall energy conversion efficiency increases from 55% to 75% under the optimized conditions at the intensity of 6 GW/cm2. The temporal shape of the third-harmonic pulse with 1 ps pulse duration has no subpulses. The optimization of the efficient frequency tripling conversion for intensities of over 75 GW/cm2 is also described. The results showed that the maximum tripling energy conversion efficiency is close to 80% with the optimized doubler and tripler  相似文献

Results of gain measurements on an AlGaAs laser amplifier with an optical isolator are reported. The maximum net gain was 25 dB when input power was less than ?40 dBm. By measuring internal loss, a saturation parameter was estimated to be 6 mW.  相似文献

In Part I [1], we presented a quantum theory of third-harmonic generation (THG) under two-photon absorption in a two-level atomic medium. We studied the time evolution of the third-harmonic field and its coherence properties by neglecting the depletion of the pump power. In this paper we extend the theory by taking the depletion of pump power into account. The density matrix for the third-harmonic field is derived. The study of the growth rate of the density matrix in time shows the quantum mechanical effects more clearly. The effects of detuning in the two-photon interactions and atomic motion are pointed out. The results are compared with the earlier results and differences are brought out.  相似文献

We present a theoretical treatment for third-harmonic generation in gaseous systems by describing the atomic system as well as the radiation field quantum mechanically. The atomic system is represented by two energy levels. The effects of detuning in the two-photon interactions and the atomic motion on the third-harmonic generation are taken into account. The photon statistics of the third-harmonic field are obtained. The average photon number, second-order coherence, and output variance of the third-harmonic field are discussed. The above results show a nonlinear dependence on the detuning in the two-photon interactions and the Doppler parameter.  相似文献

A saturation model of stimulated Raman scattering, of general applicability, is put forward. The model is developed with reference to spin-flip electronic Raman scattering in InSb, where the number of excitations available for Raman scattering may be small by comparison with the incident photon numbers. A rate equation technique is used to evaluate the steady-state Stokes intensity and output powers for a Gaussian pump beam. The model is extended to take account of pump depletion and the relative importance of depletion, and saturation in limiting the conversion efficiency under different conditions is brought out. By comparison with continuous wave spin-flip measurements, values are obtained for the spin-relaxation time (τs) associated with spin reversal in InSb. For 1016free carriers per cubic centimeter at 36 kG,tau_{s} sim 12ns and for 1015cm-3at 16.9 kG,tau_{s} sim 1.3ns.  相似文献

Experimental and theoretical studies of third-harmonic generation (THG) in the chalcopyrite semiconductor CdGeAs2are presented. The phase-matching configurations for THG are analyzed from the irreducible components point of view. A theory of the bound electron and free-carrier contribution to the third-order susceptibility is presented. The experimental results are given. The effective nonlinear coefficient for type-II THG is mainly due to the free-carrier contribution, and for a hole concentration of5 times 10^{16}/cm3it is measured to be(13 pm 6)10^{-11}ESU. The practical applications of THG in CdGeAs2are discussed.  相似文献

The layer structures of the esophageal and oral tissues were investigated by using spectral imaging technology based on two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF) and second-harmonic generation (SHG). Because spectral imaging technology allows a simultaneous record of both the spectra and image, it is capable of identifying the layered structures of the epithelial tissues, including the keratinizing layer, epithelial cell layer and stromal layer in the molecular level, which are strongly correlated to tissue pathology. All this work indicates that this technique has the potential to provide more accurate and comprehensive information for the early pathological diagnosis of tissues with the stratified squamous epithelia.  相似文献
