A data acquisition system has been developed to collect, analyze and store large volumes of rapid kinetic data measured from a stopped-flow spectrophotometer. A digital minicomputer, with an A/D converter, tape drive unit and formatter, analog recorder, oscilloscope, and input/output terminal interfaced to the stopped-flow spectrophotometer provides the complete system. Timing for actual data collection is generated through internal computer software with inclusion of A/D conversion time. After a simple initialization from the computer console, software programming provides complete interaction between a user and the terminal. The user is directed through the initialization by a series of decision steps. The first step is to choose a data file, either existing or new. Once the desired file is selected, several options including data collection, analysis, storage, and printing are selectable.

Ozone decomposition and the rapid reaction between ozone and cyclohexene in neutral solutions were studied using the data acquisition system. At 25°C, the ozonation reaction was found to have a second order rate constant of 2.19 × 106 l/mole-sec (less than 10-3 sec. half life).  相似文献

将传统的通用信号发生器与通用的测试仪的功能通过LabVIEW这个软件开发平台实现功能的高度集成,开发一种通用自动测试系统。以计算机和数据采集卡为基本硬件来实现激励信号的产生和响应信号的采集,本系统采用软件工程中面向组件的设计思想,从而使繁琐的编程过程转变为组件的开发和搭接两个步骤,同时采用严格数据类型的枚举控件,极大地提高了系统的可重用性和可扩展性。同时利用LabVIEW中同步控制技术中的Queue技术来完成通用自动测试系统组件的搭接,从而实现了信号源和测试仪的集成,由此避免了数据的丢失。  相似文献

A generalized solution to the problem of laboratory data acquisition and data reduction will be discussed. The Nuclear Data 7700 System represents a new approach to laboratory data acquisition and reduction in that it is capable of interfacing with, providing complete data analysis and generating comprehensive output reports for many instruments in the analytical laboratory. Featuring both off-line data reduction and digital magnetic tape cartridge program storage, it was designed to offer an economical and minimum obsolescence solution to the data reduction problem. The system allows the full capability of a small general purpose computer to be employed with a variety of computer programs to perform data analysis for a variety of instruments. Besides software availability, providing complete data reduction and comprehensive output reports, for the more important analytical instruments such as Gas Chromatographs, IR and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometers, Physical Testing Instruments, etc., the flexibility of this approach makes computerized data reduction practical for such instruments as Thermal Analyzers, Titrators, etc. The gas chromatography data handling aspects of the system are discussed in detail. One of seven papers to be published from the Symposium “Computer Systems and Applications in the Oil and Fat Industry” presented at the American Oil Chemist’ Society World Congress, Chicago, September–October 1970.  相似文献

The UV-visible diode array spectrophotometer is a work-horse instrument for many laboratories. This article provides simple data acquisition and control routines in Microsoft QuickBasic for a HP-8452A diode array spectrophotometer interfaced to an IBM PC/XT/AT, or compatible, microcomputer. These allow capture of full spectra and measure absorbance at one or several wavelengths at preset time intervals. The variance in absorbance at each wavelength is available as an option.  相似文献

We have developed a flexible, moderately priced, behavioral analysis system which has been used to determine the response of salmonids to certain olfactory stimulants. The system, which we call ITS for interactive computer-video tracking system, consists of a 128K Apple IIe computer with software, a video camera and videocassette recorder, and a special-effects generator. Experiments are video taped and then, during playback, the special effects generator is used to simultaneously display the video image and the graphics output of the computer on a monitor. The user tracks the animal of interest using an electronic pen, and the position of that animal in the test chamber, in the form ofx-y coordinates, is determined by the computer at user-defined time intervals. When tracking is complete, a plot of the track of the animal is printed within the outline of the test chamber. The following data can also be calculated: swimming velocity, distance from a predetermined point in the chamber (for example, olfactory stimulant source), and time spent in a given area. These variables can be calculated over any chosen time periods and/or for the entire experiment. ITS has numerous advantages over commercially available devices that perform similar tasks. First, it is relatively inexpensive, especially if one already owns video equipment and a computer. Second, it can analyze many types of experiments that can be stored on video tape, including field observations or manipulations. Third, because it is not automated, it is easy to track multiple objects, even if their tracks cross or are not easily located against a low-contrast background. Finally, because whole images do not have to be digitized, and data collection intervals can be adjusted by the user, it is possible to analyze very long experiments with a microcomputer. In this paper we describe ITS and then we demonstrate how we have used it to demonstrate that changes in ambient pH alter the behavioral response of juvenile Atlantic salmon to olfactory stimuli.  相似文献

A low cost data acquisition system for electrochemical cells has been devised on the basis of the new microprocessor computer generation with IEC-BUS interface connections. This modular structure allows the application and extension of the proposed system to all IEC-BUS compatible measuring apparatus. Our special interest was focused on the control of experiments with a large data flow like impedance spectroscopy as well as long time experiments like the temperature dependence of a cell e.m.f. Beside this, experiments like d.c.-conductivity, discharge characteristics and current-voltage curves can easily be carried out. The programs have been developed in a way which allows an application of the system in scientific laboratories as well as in the routine quality control of electrochemical device production.Data acquisition system and computer programs are also in part available from Garching Instrumente, D-8 München 19.IEC-BUS or ASC 11-BUS or HP-IB-BUS following IEE-Standard 488-1975 or DIN 6622 IEC-TC 66.  相似文献

A comprehensive set of rotating disk electrode (RDE) tests has been developed to test the suitability of fuel cell catalyst candidates for use as either anode or cathode catalysts for transient conditions. The activity for Hydrogen Oxidation reaction (HOR), Oxygen Reduction reaction (ORR) and Oxygen Evolution reaction (OER) is tested together in one protocol. A total of 5 Pine Instruments RRDE test stations have been set up with automatic gas flow switching and computer software to control all aspects of the data collection process. The user simply sets up the electrochemical cell with a gas bubbler, reference electrode, counter electrode and sample and then selects a series of tests to be run. The software then switches gas flow, rotation rates and potentiostat set up files automatically. This infrastructure allows the rapid characterization of catalyst candidate materials. The series of tests is described, along with the purpose of each test in the protocol. As an example, the data collected from a Pt1−xHfx composition spread is presented. The optimal composition is found to be approximately 30 at.% Hf, when the ORR performance begins to decrease at a faster rate than the HOR performance and the OER current at 1300 mV is also a maximum. However, it was determined that from an applied point of view the drop in ORR performance was insufficient to adequately protect the cathode from the effects of the transient potentials during start-up of the fuel cell.  相似文献

An automatic system for acid-base titrations by electrogeneration of H+ and OH- ions, with potentiometric end-point detection, was developed. The system includes a PC-compatible computer for instrumental control, data acquisition and processing, which allows up to 13 samples to be analysed sequentially with no human intervention.The system performance was tested on the titration of standard solutions, which it carried out with low errors and RSD. It was subsequently applied to the analysis of various samples of environmental and nutritional interest, specifically waters, soft drinks and wines.  相似文献

Since its inception as an analytical technique some 30 years ago atomic absorption spectrometry has become a firmly established method for the analysis of trace metals. Graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry provides the analyst with the capability of analysis of solutions containing μg l-1 levels of the analyte, but, because of the transient nature of the signals, a sophisticated approach to the data aquisition and handling of data is required. Most modern commercial graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometers have built in microprocessors for this purpose but they often have limited capability for extensible user programs and limited data storage facilities. In this communication we describe the use of an Apple IIe microcomputer for the acquisition of data from a Pye Unicam SP9 graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer. Details of the interface which utilizes an in-house designed AD converter, and an overview of the Pascal and assembler programs employed are given. The system allows the user to record, store and dump the graphical display of the furnace signalsfor all analyses performed. Files containing details of peak height, and area are formatted on an eight-column spreadsheet. Details of sample type, concentrations of standards, dilutions and replication are entered from the keyboard. The calibration graph is constructed using a moving quadratic fit routine and the concentrations of the analyte in unknown solutions calculated. In addition to this, greater processing power and integration of the data into other analytical schemes can be achieved by exporting the data to other software packages and computers. Details of data transfer between the Apple IIe and an Amstrad PC 1512 are given. Some examples of the use of the system in the development of an analytical methodfor silver in plant material are given.  相似文献

A laboratory computer controlled potentiometric titrator interfaced to a diode array spectrophotometer is described. The titrator consists of widely used, commercially available components; therefore, major attention is given to modes of interconnection and software implementation in data format and system control. Replicate potentiometric titrations of glycines gave a relative standard deviation in titre of 1.035% and a relative standard deviation in pH of 0.745%. Replicate spectrophotometric titrations of bromophenol blue were analysed at three wavelengths to yield pKa= 3.898 ± 0.075 (1.9% rsd).Methods of data presentation and manipulation are presented.  相似文献
