This paper provides a comprehensive review of the literature regarding actuator systems which are based on the principle that combines the friction and inertia effect, named friction–inertia principle in this paper; such actuators is called friction–inertial actuator (FIA). The contribution of this paper lies in the generalization of various published (including patented) FIAs into a general principle with three specific principles. They are further taken as a framework upon which various published FIAs are classified and compared in terms of their principle, structure, and performance. In addition, this paper shows how this framework would allow for further innovation on FIAs. In the process of this generalization and classification, some confusion presented in the literature is also clarified. This paper also discusses further effort that may be taken to advance the friction–inertia actuation technology.  相似文献

Scheduling of flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs) has been one of the most attractive areas for both researchers and practitioners. A considerable body of literature has accumulated in this area since the late 1970s when the first batch of papers was published. A number of approaches have been adopted to schedule FMSs, including simulation techniques and analytical methods. Numerous articles can be found on each of these approaches. This paper reviews scheduling studies of FMSs which employ simulation techniques as an analysis tool, since simulation is the most widely used tool for modelling FMSs. Scheduling methodologies are categorised into simulation of general scheduling studies, multi-criteria scheduling approaches, and artificial intelligence (AI) approaches in FMSs. Comments on the publications, and suggestions for further research and development are given.  相似文献

Advanced manufacturing technology (AMT) provides advantages to manufacturing managers in terms of flexibility, quality, reduced delivery times, and global competitiveness. Although a large number of publications had presented the importance of this technology, only a few had delved into related literature review. Considering the importance of this technology and the recent contributions by various authors, the present paper conducts a more comprehensive review. Literature was reviewed in a way that will help researchers, academicians, and practitioners to take a closer look at the implementation, evaluation, and justification of the AMT. The authors reviewed various papers, proposed a different classification scheme, and identified certain gaps that will provide hints for further research in AMT management.  相似文献

Computer-aided process planning (CAPP) has attracted great research interest for the last two decades and a large volume of material has been published on the subject. With the introduction of contemporary manufacturing philosophies such as concurrent engineering, agile manufacturing and the like, the research in process planning has been gradually transformed into an inter-disciplinary and multi-faceted problem domain. By compiling, classifying and annotating a sample of articles published in the last few years, the paper provides a logical organisation of the literature on process planning. Osteosarcoma is one of the most genomically complex cancers and as result, it has been difficult to assign genomic aberrations that contribute to disease progression and patient outcome consistently across samples. One potential source for correlating osteosarcoma and genomic biomarkers is within the non-coding regions of RNA that are differentially expressed. However, it is unsurprising that a cancer classification that is fraught with genomic instability is likely to have numerous studies correlating non-coding RNA expression and function have been published on the subject. This review undertakes the formidable task of evaluating the published literature of non-coding RNAs in osteosarcoma. This is not the first review on this topic and will certainly not be the last. The review is organized with an introduction into osteosarcoma and the epigenetic control of gene expression before reviewing the molecular function and expression of long non-coding RNAs, circular RNAs, and short non-coding RNAs such as microRNAs, piwi RNAs, and short-interfering RNAs. The review concludes with a review of the literature and how the biology of non-coding RNAs can be used therapeutically to treat cancers, especially osteosarcoma. We conclude that non-coding RNA expression and function in osteosarcoma is equally complex to understanding the expression differences and function of coding RNA and proteins; however, with the added lens of both coding and non-coding genomic sequence, researchers can begin to identify the patterns that consistently associate with aggressive osteosarcoma.  相似文献

This paper presents a review of the literature on generating cutting paths for laser cutting machines. Firstly, the cutting path problem is defined including all relevant technical side constraints which exist plentifully in laser cutting. Secondly, a former classification method is updated to include all types of cutting path problems. Thirdly, a comprehensive review of solution methods and related applications is presented. Mass production system design is a key for the productivity of an organization. Mass production system can be classified into production line machining a component and production line assembling a product. In this paper, the production line assembling a product, which is alternatively called as assembly line system, is considered. In this system, balancing the assembly line as per a desired volume of production per shift is a challenging task. The main objectives of the assembly line design are to minimize the number of workstations for a given cycle time (type 1), to minimize the maximum of the times of workstations for a given number of workstations (type 2), and so forth. Because this problem comes under combinatorial category, the use of heuristics is inevitable. Development of a mathematical model may also be attempted, which will help researchers to compare the solutions of the heuristics with that of the model. In this paper, an attempt is made to present a comprehensive review of literature on the assembly line balancing. The assembly line balancing problems are classified into eight types based on three parameters, viz. the number of models (single-model and multi-model), the nature of task times (deterministic and probabilistic), and the type of assembly line (straight-type and U-type). The review of literature is organized as per the above classification. Further, directions for future research are also presented.  相似文献

本文运用文献计量学方法对中国高等教育研究四本CSSCI期刊2006~2009年的载文信息进行统计分析,以揭示中国高等教育研究作者群的成熟度。结果显示:我国高等教育研究业已形成学术集中地区,但学术成果产出机构性质比较单一;高等教育研究作者队伍规模庞大,但新、老作者结构不合理,尚未形成稳定的高产核心作者群;非教育学科背景作者对高等教育研究介入较少;高引文率显示学科内部联系相当密切,但研究者之间合作程度低,且其自身的研究普遍缺乏连续性;研究者对专著和期刊论文保持高度关注的同时,网络资源也成为重要参考源;新近8年内出版的文献对现时研究最有参考价值。  相似文献

Most of organizations have a “functional structure,” which is composed of various functional units. In some cases, each functional unit works towards their own goals and objectives, rather than the organizational goals. This is further aggravated because information flow is restricted by functions, and even when other functional units want to take a systemic view, they do not have the needed information to do so. These are the issues addressed by “Enterprise Resource Planning” (ERP) software solutions providing a common and consistent system to capture information organization-wide, with minimum redundancy. Today, many organizations acquire and implement ERP to improve their operational performance and create strategic value; however, they fail to achieve these objective due to lack of knowledge and better understanding of ERP and its lifecycle. Although, so far, hundreds of research article are published separately focusing on ERP and various issues related to its lifecycle and management, there is no survey and overview of the article published in different top-tier journals. We believe that a survey of the articles related to ERP provides better understanding of ERP and attempts to create an information bank of the published articles these in turn, contribute to improving the performance of an enterprise in terms of achieving its strategic value creation goals. During the last decade, computer-aided process planning (CAPP) has received much attention both from researchers and practitioners. One of the reasons for this is the role of CAPP in reducing throughput time and improving quality. An attempt has been made in this paper to review the existing literature with the objective of gaining insights into the design and implementation of CAPP systems. The literature available (1989–1996) on CAPP has been reviewed based on the types of systems. The advantages and disadvantages of such systems are presented. In this paper, the dynamic behaviors on the basis of simulation for high-purity heat integrated air separation column (HIASC) are studied. A nonlinear generic model control (GMC) scheme is proposed based on the nonlinear behavior analyses of a HIASC process, and an adaptive generic model control (AGMC) scheme is further presented to correct the model parameters online. Related internal model control (IMC) scheme and multi-loop PID (M-PID) scheme are also developed as the comparative base. The comparative researches are carried out among these linear and nonlinear control schemes in detail. The simulation research results show that the proposed AGMC schemes present advantages in both servo control and regulatory control for the high-purity HIASC.  相似文献

Assembly line balancing plays a significant role in mass production systems due to production efficiency and productivity. A number of researchers have recently shown great interest in this topic, especially in the area of simple assembly line balancing problems (SALBP), and several academic papers have been published on this topic using different exact, heuristic, and metaheuristic methods. Recently, Rashid et al. (Int J Adv Manuf Technol 59:335–349, 2012) reviewed one decade (2000–2010) of published studies on assembly sequence planning and assembly line balancing optimization, those studies that applied soft computing approaches. The scope of the Rashid et al. review in the area of assembly line balancing problems was reported to be on SALBP. In this paper, we suggest that the review by Rashid et al. and the conclusion drawn regarding SALBP are inaccurate in some parts, and some revisions to Rashid et al. (Int J Adv Manuf Technol 59:335–349, 2012) are necessary. Accordingly, a revision to Rashid et al.’s review paper is proposed, and a guide to future research is presented. Moreover, to have up-to-date information, the review is extended to also include the published studies in the period of 2011–2013.  相似文献

Type synthesis of mechanisms aims to systematically determine all possible structures for a specific mobility requirement. Numerous methods based on di erent theories were proposed for type synthesis of lower mobility parallel mechanisms in past decades. However, there does not exist a comprehensive review on these approaches. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to give such a review, classifying the approaches proposed in the literature into three groups, namely, motion-based methods, constraint-based methods, and other methods. The motion-based methods include the Lie group based method, the GF set method, the linear transformation method, the POC set method,and the finite screw method. The constraint-based methods involve the screw theory-based method, the virtual chain method, the method based on Grassmann line geometry and line graphs, and the motion constraint generator method. Other methods contain the enumeration approach based on the general CGK mobility formula and the graph theory method. Upon thoroughly analyzing the characteristics and/or limitations of each method, this review provides a well reference to help researchers find an e ective synthesis method for innovative design and further scientific investigations for mechanisms.  相似文献

This paper is aimed at presenting the current status of the knowledge and the use of chip control in machining, with a view to identifying the further work required for total chip control in unmanned systems. The results of an extensive survey on chip control covering over 160 published works since 1900 have been classified and summarised in 11 chip control-associated keyword groups. A critical review of the present status of research and future directions are then presented. This highlights the need for developing knowledge-based systems on the basis of a coding and classification system and the machinability data banks featuring predictive machining theories. An extension to this off-line processing facility in the proposed knowledge-based system would be the use of an on-line sensor-based chip form monitoring technique.  相似文献

This paper presents a review of the state-of-the-art in sensors and signal processing methodologies used for tool condition monitoring (TCM) systems in industrial machining applications. The paper focuses on the technologies used in monitoring conventional cutting operations, including drilling, turning, end milling and face milling, and presents important findings related to each of these fields. Unlike existing reviews, which categorize results according to the methodology used, this paper presents results organized according to the type of machining operation carried out. By extensively reviewing and categorizing over one hundred important papers and articles, this paper is able to identify and comment on trends in TCM research, and to identify potential weaknesses in certain areas. The paper concludes with a list of recommendations for future research based on the trends and successful results observed, thus facilitating the cross-fertilization of ideas and techniques within the field of TCM research. In this paper, we introduce a fast reciprocal space method for image simulation. It is well known that the scattering matrix (SM) P with NxN elements consists of N different structure factors and N different excitation errors. However, most structure factors of the SM P are extremely small so that they can be neglected. Therefore, the size of the SM P is reduced drastically. On the other hand, the structure factors have two-dimensional space group symmetries, so that by reducing the symmetry related structure factors to symmetrically independent structure factors, the size of the SM P can be reduced further. The calculation speed based on the simplified SM P will be several hundred times faster than that by other conventional methods. In this paper, we describe the method for how to reduce the SM P in detail and give an example of implementation.  相似文献

Thorough literature review of various modern machining processes is presented in this paper. The main focus is kept on the optimization aspects of various parameters of the modern machining processes and hence only such research works are included in this work in which the use of advanced optimization techniques were involved. The review period considered is from the year 2006 to 2012. Various modern machining processes considered in this work are electric discharge machining, abrasive jet machining, ultrasonic machining, electrochemical machining, laser beam machining, micro-machining, nano-finishing and various hybrid and modified versions of these processes. The review work on such a large scale was not attempted earlier by considering many processes at a time, and hence, this review work may become the ready information at one place and it may be very useful to the subsequent researchers to decide their direction of research.  相似文献
