We have recently reported 16 new far-infrared laser emissions of CD2Cl2. While the overwhelming majority of the previously known FIR laser emissions of this molecule were polarized parallel to the polarization of the pump CO2 line, 13 of our 16 new lines are polarized perpendicularly to the exciting CO2 radiation. In principle, the presence of perpendicular/parallel emission pairs is extremely important for the assignment of laser transitions. In the present work we discuss the possible assignments of 16 far-infrared (FIR) laser emission pairs of CD2Cl2.  相似文献

Far-infrared (FIR) laser and infrared pump transitions of the O-18 isotopic species of methanol have been assigned for a number of CO2 laser pump lines with the aid of high-resolution Fourier transform spectra in the FIR and CO-stretch band regions. The structures of the FIR laser energy level systems and the transition assignments were established through the use of closed transition combination loops, which also yield improved accuracies for the FIR laser wavenumbers.  相似文献

In this work we report the first observation of FIR laser lines from13CD3OH pumped by the13CO2 isotope laser. Using the same pump we have also found 3 new lines from12CD3OH. Tentative assignments for the absorption and emission transitions of the observed lines are also proposed.  相似文献

Reported far-infrared laser lines for five different transition systems of CH3NH2 optically pumped by a CO2 laser have been identified spectroscopically through a high-resolution Fourier transform infrared study of the C-N stretching band together with CO2-laser/microwave-sideband broad-scan and Lamb-dip measurements. From the infrared analysis plus previous far-infrared (FIR) results for the ground vibrational state, quantum numbers have been assigned for seven methylamine FIR laser transitions and their C-N stretching pump absorptions coincident with the CO2 laser lines. The assignments are confirmed through the use of closed frequency combination loops that also provide improved FIR laser frequencies to spectroscopic accuracy.  相似文献

Thirty-nine new submillimetre laser lines in CH2F2 and twelve in CD2Cl2 have been obtained in a Fabry-Perot FIR resonator by optically pumping with a CW12C18O2 laser. The wavelength range obtained for CH2F2 is 126μm to 1091μm and for CD2Cl2 212μm to 774μm. The wavelength measurements are accurate to within 5.10?3. The relative polarisations of the pump laser and the FIR laser output were also determined. Tentative assignments of the IR and FIR transitions were made using existing microwave data.  相似文献

High-resolution infrared (IR) and far infrared (FIR) Fourier transform absorption spectra have been employed to investigate assignments of FIR laser lines reported from optically-pumped13CH3OH. The spectroscopic measurements are used in conjunction with the reported IR pump and FIR laser frequencies to form closed combination loops for several systems, serving to confirm the assignments and in some cases to improve the accuracy of the FIR laser frequencies. Frequency predictions from combination differences are also presented for a number of potential new FIR laser lines.  相似文献

An extensive theoretical and experimental analysis of the absorption and emission spectrum of a CH3OH FIR-laser excited by a conventional CO2 laser is presented. Particular interest is devoted to the Stark shifts of the pump and lasing lines and to the electric field dependence of the Fir-laser output of the various lines. The offsets with respect to the exciting radiation and the Stark shifts of the IR absorption (pump) lines are measured by means of the transferred Lamb dip technique. The theoretical behaviours of the Stark patterns are calculated for several choices of the quantum numbers and selection rules involved in the transitions. A large variety of experimental results are reported and compared to theory. Non-linear Stark shifts have been observed for the 37.5μm FIR laser line and for the IR-pump transitions excited by the 9-P(38) and 10-R(38) CO2 laser Lines. Line assignments are proposed and new FIR laser lines are reported.  相似文献

By using an acoustooptic modulator we extend the 300 MHz tunability of a waveguide CO2 laser to 480 MHz. The CD3OH was optically pumped by the 10R(32), 10R(34), and 10R(36) CO2 laser lines, and 17 new FIR laser lines were discovered. The Stark effect on previously known FIR laser lines was investigated, and some tentative FIR laser lines assignments are suggested.  相似文献

Electric field effects have been investigated on the output power of six far-infrared (FIR) laser lines from H12COOH optically-pumped by a CO2 laser with its polarization arranged perpendicular to the Stark field. Optoacoustic signals observed on the pump lines were hardly affected by the applied electric field up to 0.6 kV/cm. By neglecting the electric field effects on the pump transitions, Zeeman laser theory has been applied to the FIR laser transitions. Numerical calculation predicts the observed FIR output power as a function of electric field. Experessions for oscillation frequency and intensity in homogeneous limit are given, which may be applicable to any FIR Stark laser so far as the pump transition is free from electric field effects.  相似文献

8 new large offset FIR laser lines of CH2F2 have been discovered by pumping with a high tunability waveguide CW CO2 laser. Optoacoustic measurements of CH2F2 have also been performed and the pump offsets of the new and of previously known lines have been measured and checked. Continued study of the high-resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy (FTS) of the fundamental CO-stretching band of13CD3OH has given additional insight into the far-infrared (FIR) laser emission observed when this molecule is optically pumped by a CO2 laser. Eleven IR-pump/FIR-laser transition systems are considered. Seven represent completely new assignments, while four have been presented previously but are discussed further with reference to recently reported experimental data. Ten of the assignment schemes have been rigorously checked by forming closed combination loops, and accurate FIR laser wavenumbers have been obtained. The superiority in precision of the FIR laser wavenumbers determined from FTS combination loops over those from traditional wavelength measurements is demonstrated.  相似文献

This work reports the discovery of 45 new optically pumped far-infrared (FIR) laser lines from CH3OD in the range 42.6 μm to 207.2 μm. A highly efficient CO2 laser was used as the pump laser for an Optically-pumped Fabry-Perot FIR laser. The frequencies of most of the new lines were measured in the range 1.7 to 6.4 THz. Twenty-eight CO2 lines were used as pump lines; nineteen of these had frequencies lower than those previously used to pump CH3OD in a FIR laser. Sixteen of the new FIR lines had absorption transitions which belong to the OD bending vibrational mode.  相似文献

Using the CH3OH molecular energy levels data base management program, we deduced that when a CH3OH laser pumped by CO2-9P(16) line, there should be a FIR laser line of 918μm wavelength, which corresponding to a transition in ground-state reversed three-level energy system. For the first time, the spectra of ground-state reversed three-level system transitions were calculated by solving the density matrix equations, and the spectrum characteristics of 918μm line were studied. Experimentally, the CH3OH FIR laser line of 918μm wavelength was obtained by pumping with a TEA-CO2 laser. The experimental results were in good agreement with the theoretical calculations.  相似文献

It is proposed that a number of the high-frequency far-infrared (FIR) laser lines observed when CH3OH is optically pumped by high-power CO2 TEA lasers can be identified as refilling torsional transitions within the vibrational ground state. Assignments are presented for 8 such TEA-pump/FIR-laser refilling systems. To provide support for the assigned laser frequencies, high-resolution Fourier transform FIR spectra of CH3OH have been obtained and partially analyzed in the torsional transition region.  相似文献

Six FIR laser lines from CD3OH pumped by the 10R(36) and the 10R(18) CO2 laser lines are assigned to specific rotational energy levels in the excited C?0 stretch state. It is found that their upper laser levels are shifted by a Fermi resonance between the C?0 stretch vibration and the third and forth harmonics of the torsional mode. The Fermi resonance shifts are +0.332 cm?1 and +2.251 cm?1 for the upper laser levels pumped by the 10R(36) and the 10R(18) CO2 laser lines, respectively. Calculated frequencies of the pump and the laser transitions agree with those of the pump CO2 laser lines and the observed FIR laser lines within estimated accuracy.  相似文献

We report fifty seven CW FIR emissions observed in NH3, by resonant pumping with a CO2 laser. Exact coincidences between IR absorption lines of the gas and emission lines of the CO2 laser have been carried out by Stark tuning. IR frequency shifts, up to 30 GHz, have allowed the pumping of forty three NH3 transitions. These FIR emissions correspond to thirty one different wavelengths in the 50–400 μm range; eighteen ones of them are new emitted wavelengths by pumping with the CO2 laser.  相似文献

The author reports that TEA-CO2 with an intra-cavity etalon is a useful pumping source which can deliver widely tunable beam (tunable range ~1 GHz) with accurate oscillation frequencies and with high power compared to a tunable wave guide laser. The source is applied to the excitations of CH3OH and the FIR emissions from it are well assigned for there absorption transitions and FIR emissions. This proves that the source display not only usefulness for development of new FIR emissions but also for molecular spectroscopy.  相似文献

New cascade laser transitions of12CH2F2 at 172.50μm, 208.83μm, 220.44μm, 223.99μm and 250.61μm are reported. A waveguide FIR laser was pumped with a quasi cw12C16O2 laser operating on the 9R32 line. Together with the already known lines at 184.3μm, 196.1μm and 235.9μm, the laser lines can be assigned to rotational transitions in the ν9 vibrational band of12CH2F2 and to refill transitions of the vibrational ground state ν0.  相似文献

We used a Stark-Optoacoustic cell and hybrid waveguide resonators to perform an Infrared and Far Infrared Stark Spectroscopy study on some transitions of13CD3OH. Different behaviours of the transitions in the presence of a d.c. electric field were observed. The Stark splittings of six FIR laser lines ranging from 34 to 136 MHz/kVcm?1 were determined. The analysis of the behaviour of the IR and FIR transitions in the presence of the external electric fields gives important and exclusive information on the levels involved in the transitions.  相似文献
