基于倾斜光纤光栅的温度不敏感振动传感器   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
提出了一种基于倾斜光纤光栅与多模光纤相结合的温度不敏感振动传感器,其振动传感头是在倾斜光纤光栅与单模光纤之间加入一小段多模光纤所组成。倾斜光纤光栅的反射光谱有布拉格模和包层模两部分组成,其中多模光纤的作用是将倾斜光纤光栅反射包层模耦合到单模光纤的基模。倾斜光纤光栅包层模对外界振动很敏感,通过传感器的包层模平均输出功率完成对外界振动物理量测量。由于采用强度解调的方式,可以大大降低传感器装置的复杂性。实验表明:当传感器温度从20 ℃上升到70 ℃时,传感器的输出平均光功率均方根误差为0.01 μW,其反射光谱平均输出功率影响很小,故可以避免外界温度对测量结果的影响。  相似文献

In this paper, a system of linear edge filter demodulation based on weakly tilted fiber Bragg gratings in fiber sensor was proposed. The linear edge of the cladding-mode envelope and temperature characteristic between cladding modes and core mode of tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) were experimentally investigated. The results show that falling edge (1505–1535 nm) and rising edge (1545–1565 nm) of the cladding-mode envelope is approximately linear and can be used as an edge filter. Moreover, the temperature characteristics of the core mode and cladding modes are similar to FBG’s. It can dynamically compensate the temperature induced wavelength shift of the FBG and the effect of temperature on the demodulated sensing signals is minimized. The advantages of this simple system are an all-fiber design, quasi static and dynamic operation, high stability and lower cost.  相似文献

Tilted fibre Bragg grating (TFBG) with grating planes tilted at an angle of 3deg corresponding to the fibre axis shows core mode and a large number of cladding-mode resonances in its transmission. Discriminating temperature and strain simultaneously using a single tilted fibre Bragg grating is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The wavelength shifts of the TFBG in response to temperature and strain are investigated. The results show that the cladding modes and core mode have different strain sensitivities while the temperature sensitivities are equal. So, it is possible to monitor the core-mode resonance and the cladding-mode resonances of the TFBG spectrum, allowing the separation of the temperature and strain induced wavelength shifts.  相似文献

Theoretical and experimental studies on the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) temperature and strain sensing characteristics are conducted. The TFBG is stuck to the surface of the beam along the axis direction. When the free end of the beam is forced, both the strain and temperature will induce wavelength shifts. The temperature characteristic of TFBG cladding modes is similar to that of the core mode while the strain characteristics of TFBG core mode and cladding modes are different. A novel method to discriminate the temperature and strain simultaneously is put forward based on TFBG sensing characteristics.  相似文献

The transmission intensity of the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) is strongly dependent on the polarization properties of the TFBG. The polarization characteristic of the cladding modes can be used for twist measuring. In this paper, a highly sensitive fiber twist sensor is proposed. The transmission intensity on the strong loss wavelength showed a quasi-sin θ changing with the twist angle ranging from 0° to 180° for S- or P-polarized input. A high sensitivity of 0.299 dB/° is achieved, which is almost 17.9 times higher than that of the current similar existing twist sensor. The twist angle can be measured precisely with the matrix.  相似文献

提出了一种基于倾斜光纤光栅(TFBG)的包层上覆盖着聚乙烯醇(PVA)的空气相对湿度传感器,成功实现了对相对湿度在20~98%RH范围内的监测。研究发现,TFBG的透射功率在20~74%RH和74~98%RH2个相对湿度区域内分别呈现不同的线性变化,敏感度分别为2.52 dBm/%RH和14.95 dBm/%RH,并且在高湿度区有更高的敏感性。  相似文献

A relative humidity (RH) sensor based on tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG) is proposed by utilizing polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the sensitive cladding film. RH increasing in the PVA coating will result in reduction of refractive index. Due to the TFBG's sensitivity to ambient refractive index, the spectral properties of PVA-coated TFBG are modified under exposure to different ambient humidity levels ranging from 20% to 98% RH. The transmission power of TFBG has different linear behaviors for two different humidity ranges (20%–74% RH and 74%–98% RH), and the sensitivity for each humidity range reaches as high as 2.52 and 14.947 dBm/%RH, respectively. Combining the advantages of optical fiber grating and PVA as a smart material, this design involves simple configuration, low cost, compactness, a small degree of hysteresis, stability, and wide dynamic sensing range as well. Therefore, the sensor could be applied in real-time RH monitoring for normal as well as extremely humid environments.   相似文献

In this paper, a simple and novel optical fibre pressure sensor with tilt fibre Bragg grating is put forward. The radial compression and rebound on tilt fibre Bragg grating (TFBG) cause grating angle and length change, meanwhile, its cladding mode spectra decrease sharply. Some transmission spectrum characteristics, such as amplitude, extinction ratio value, wavelengths of cladding and Bragg modes, are extracted and analyzed. It shows that they are nearly linear with the radial pressure on surface of bare TFBG. Among them, the extinction ratio value with high sensitivity of 0.7 dB/N can keep consistent with pressure. The max amplitudes of some cladding mode resonance are good linear with radial press with sensitivity of 0.18 dB/N. The relation between each mode resonance wavelength shift and radial press on TFBG keeps good linearity with 0.8-pm/N sensitivity. By means of choosing tygon elastic pad material imposed on bare TFBG, the pressure sensitivity with amplitude of 0.21 dB/N and extinction ratio of 0.25 dB/N is obtained in order to use in practical engineering.  相似文献

An 800 nm band fiber Bragg grating sensing interrogation system using tilted FBG as the core wavelength division component is presented. A charge coupled device (CCD) linear array is put on the focal plane of the lens to detect the light. TFBG is used to tap light out of the fiber core to fiber cladding. The sensing wavelength is 795 to 830 nm,with accuracy of 20 pm and scan speed 100 Hz. Using FBG sensor,we achieve the temperature sensitivity of 1.8 ℃ and strain sensitivity of 18 με.  相似文献

利用扫描相位掩模法在光敏光纤上成功写制了45°倾斜光纤光栅, 为了增加光栅的长度, 采用了在同一光纤上连续拼接写制多段倾斜光栅的技术, 提高了45°倾斜光纤光栅的偏振选择特性。对写制的45°倾斜光纤光栅的偏振依赖损耗特性进行了实验研究, 报道了利用45°倾斜光纤光栅作为偏振元件, 实现了掺铒光纤激光器的线偏振稳定输出, 输出激光的偏振消光比达到30 dB, 证明了45°倾斜光纤光栅具有良好的偏振依赖特性, 作为一种新的偏振元件, 具有光纤化、性能高、结构紧凑以及价格低廉的特点, 具有很大的发展潜力。  相似文献

对ROF(radio over fiber,光载射频)系统在应用过程中的调制方式进行了分析,同时通过一系列实验证明单边带调制更适合应用于ROF系统的通信过程。因此,基于闪耀光纤光栅(TFBG,tilted fiber bragg grating)的复耦合模理论对光栅的谱的性能进行了分析和实验,不难发现,经过对TFBG进行特定的设计后,可以将TFBG应用于ROF系统中对双边带信号进行反射或者透射实现单边带调制,这样既减少了输出振幅随着距离的周期性变化,也提高了信号的传输效率和接收灵敏度。  相似文献

A low-cost, compact and practical method to measure the surrounding refractive index (SRI) is proposed by measuring the transmission power of the tilted fiber Bragg grating (TFBG). The transmission power of the TFBG is detected when the SRI varies from 1.3723 to 1.4532; the power decreases monotonously from ?2.14 dBm to ?3.26 dBm. Under this condition, the resolution of the refractive index of TFBG is predicted to be 10?4 and the resolution of the concentration of the solution is as slight as 0.01%. Considering its simple configuration and high stability, this way is potential to monitor physical, chemical and biological parameters in the natural environments.  相似文献

采用光纤布拉格光栅制备折射率传感器,研究光纤光栅的折射率传感灵敏度与其包层直径之间的关系。理论分析可得,光栅包层直径越小,Bragg波长的偏移量随环境折射率变化的影响越大,这样就能使实验中光栅所反射的LD光功率变化(传感灵敏度)越明显。利用氢氟酸溶液腐蚀光栅包层的方法,得到不同包层直径的光纤Bragg光栅折射率传感器。实验指出,包层直径减小时,光栅可传感的折射率范围会缩小,而其折射率的传感灵敏度却会增大,如包层直径为8.9 μm时,折射率的检测范围为1.3872~1.4730,其最大灵敏度值达到了224.0320 dBm/RIU。  相似文献

We have UV-inscribed fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), long-period gratings (LPGs), and tilted fiber gratings (TFGs) into mid-IR 2m range using three common optical fiber grating fabrication techniques (two-beam holographic, phase mask, and point-by-point). The fabricated FBGs have been evaluated for thermal and strain response. It has been revealed that the FBG devices with responses in mid-IR range are much more sensitive to temperature than that in near-IR range. To explore the unique cladding mode coupling function, we have investigated the thermal and refractive index sensitivities of LPGs and identified that the coupled cladding modes in mid-IR range are also much more sensitive to temperature and surrounding medium refractive index change. The 45 tilted fiber gratings (45-TFGs) as polarizing devices in mid-IR have been investigated for their polarization extinction characteristics. As efficient reflection filters and in-cavity polarizers, the mid-IR FBGs and 45-TFGs have been employed in fiber laser cavity to realize multi-wavelength 2 m Tm-doped CW and mode locked fiber lasers, respectively.  相似文献

Based on the interferences between core modes and cladding modes in photonic crystal fiber (PCF),a novel temperature sensor is presented and experimentally demonstrated.The peak wavelength of the interference spectrum linearly increased with an increase in temperature.A measurement sensitivity of 10.38 pm/℃ was experimentally achieved for temperatures ranging from 30℃ to 100℃.Experimental results also indicate that the curvature and transverse load do not have a distinguishable influence on the transmission spectrum of the proposed fiber sensor,which ensures its applicability for practical applications.  相似文献

为设计高灵敏光纤光栅薄膜传感器,基于耦合模理论研究了表面镀制高折射率敏感薄膜的倾斜长周期光纤光栅(TLPFG)耦合特性和薄膜折射率传感特性。TLPFG能激发高阶(角向序数l1)包层模耦合,高阶包层模耦合系数随倾角增大而增大,80时,高阶包层模耦合系数远小于1阶包层模耦合系数。研究表明,光栅倾角变化不影响包层模耦合谐振波长,但影响光谱透过率。进一步研究了TLPFG在80时1阶5次包层模耦合的光谱透过率对薄膜折射率变化的响应,分析了光栅结构参数(L、、)和薄膜参数(h3,n3)对薄膜折射率响应灵敏度的影响,结果表明,响应灵敏度相比于非倾斜LPFG可提高一个数量级,对薄膜折射率的分辨率可达10-9。  相似文献
