In a time shaped by technological developments dissolving the boundaries between the real and the virtual world, we are challenged to newly define the potentials of virtual and mixed reality in the field of landscape architecture. Critical analyses of the primary application areas of these technologies show that the current focus mostly lies on the optimization of 3D visualization and navigation in virtual space. Within professional practice, mixed reality tools are increasingly being used to test and communicate design decisions, for marketing purposes, and more often, within the smart building industry as well. Thus far, the incorporation of immersive environments in landscape architecture is lacking research on human-centered data interaction and the perception of space. At Aalto University, Finland, the team of Pia Fricker, Professor of Practice for Computational Methodologies in Landscape Architecture and Urbanism, researches new immersive co-design methodologies to introduce new meaningful trajectories for participatory processes. Mixed reality applications are thus extended beyond common and conventional uses to help create multidisciplinary immersive interactive spaces using data informed processes. Since the mid- to late 1990s, both Artificial Intelligence and wearable interaction techniques have dramatically changed the way how humans interact with the exterior environment, as such influence will be greater and greater over time. Wearable devices and mobile terminals have enhanced humans’ experience on spatial environment by improving their perception, understanding, and ability of control towards certain places. This paper centers on the advanced efforts of the augmentation technologies in intelligent sensing, cognition, and feedback, by introducing several innovative applications, including 1) the live-audio augmented project for the Washington Monument; 2) the CityScope project, developed by the MIT City Science Lab, which provides intelligent decision-making aid for non-professional users; and 3) Nature-X, an augmented reality application that creates nature community scenes based on Location Based Service. All these studied cases of spatial and environmental planning and design look into the future opportunities and challenges in the context of intelligent interaction. 相似文献

AbstractIt is challenging to design for mutually beneficial relationships in a multi-actor service system when these actors have diverse and conflicting interests, and lack usable methods and tools that support the design process. This study introduces a novel method for co-designing value exchange (COVALENT). COVALENT integrates the value analysis model, co-design strategy and service design tools, to support the conceptualisation of reciprocal value exchanges based on the analysis of and matching between, stakeholders’ needs and resources. Its perceived effectiveness was validated through application to the development of community business models in Ulsan, South Korea. This study contributes to the knowledge of co-design by providing a method for co-designing services that aim to achieve reciprocal value exchanges in the context of community-centred design and by discussing the effectiveness of that method as perceived by users. 相似文献

In this research, we used Augmented Reality technology to develop a planning support tool (ARPST) which combines virtual building models and building regulations with a real site to effectively check whether design alternatives obey the building regulations or design guidelines, and realizes detection of violations of the building form control regulations under the Building Standards Law of Japan. Through the AR-PST, the users can interact with the building models using mobile devices (such as smart phones and tablets) to further understand design proposals as well as their influence on the environment around the real construction sites to achieve a more reasonable evaluation of them. User experience investigation for this tool was then carried out via questionnaire and interview. The results show that the ARPST has creative functional design and good interactivity which can improve the communication efficiency between designers and users and assist urban planning and design. 相似文献

尽管环境视觉感知领域有深厚科研积累,但由于系统性理论及实证缺乏、感受信息采集失真、缺乏实景信息互动等问题,景观视觉规划设计实践仍然相对薄弱。本文以美国景观视觉资源管理方法为研究对象,采用历史研究和预实验的方法,以选取美国林务局视觉规划为例,总结了传统景观视觉规划设计中可能存在的主要问题,并在此基础上介绍了如何通过包括生物反馈信息采集、地理信息协同平台、增强现实等技术对目前景观视觉规划设计过程进行优化和模拟检验。预实验结果表明上述若干新技术对于改进现有视觉规划设计方法有一定的效果,并分析了新技术的发展潜力。 相似文献

This report presents the results and output from a questionnaire undertaken by the ITA Working Group No. 4 regarding “Design Criteria for Access ways” to different types of underground structures. This theme was considered an important issue as the design and layout of access ways and installed mechanical equipment have great influence on construct ability and construction costs, maintenance and operation of the underground structures. The questions raised were basically dealing with the theme of access ways, but as well with the wider scope of design criteria for underground structures, such as: road (transport) tunnels; underground (metro) railway stations; underground parking areas and underground shopping malls and other facilities. ForewordThe theme of this report, design criteria for access ways to underground structures, was proposed by the representatives of Japan and Spain during the ITA Working Group No. 4 meeting, held in Sao Paulo in 1998. Around the globe an increased application of underground space has been experienced and the design of access ways is an important aspect of underground structures. The participants in the meeting in Sao Paolo, representing their member nations, supported the theme. Following the Working Group meetings in Oslo (1999) and Durban (2000) a questionnaire was prepared by Japan and Spain and distributed amongst the ITA member nations. The questions raised were basically dealing with the theme of access ways, but dealt as well with the wider scope of design criteria for underground structures, such as: road (transport) tunnels; underground (metro) railway stations; underground parking areas and underground shopping malls and other facilities. The main intention of the Working Group No. 4 Subsurface Planning was that the findings of the questions raised could be of great help in the field of assisting, developing and harmonizing subsurface planning. Not surprisingly, the member nations who replied to the questionnaires addressed the various aspects of this topic in different ways. Nevertheless, the diverse views clearly show differences in opinions and details by which various countries approach these issues. The report is intended to aid subsurface planners who wish to gain a broad view on how matters are dealt with in other countries or seek guidance in comparable situations – and also for the benefit and understanding of owners and operators of such facilities. The fire and life safety issues in road and railway tunnels are of course of great importance for public confidence in such structures. These issues have been specifically dealt with in a previous report by Working Group No. 4; “Fire and Life Safety for Underground Facilities” published in the journal “Tunneling and Underground Space Technology” (TUST), volume 13/3 July/September 1998. The ITA expresses the appreciation to the member nations who made contributions and especially to Japan who assembled and presented the material. The ITA also wish to thank Norway and the Netherlands for assisting in finalizing the report, which was completed under remaining Working Group 4 responsibilities. 相似文献

针对目前公众与学界对中国历史园林“时空一体”“生生不息”“天人之际”理念及其与山水诗、山水画关系的认知差距较大的问题,提出采用增强现实技术(AR)搭载园林的历史文化艺术等内容信息辅助认知的解决方式。再现和强化了对北海东岸2处景点的历史、文化、艺术内涵与实景的关系认知,为具备较完整遗存的历史名园的AR研究探索思路,并侧重园林本体价值内涵的展示传播,对历史园林的保护、利用及研究具重要学术价值和现实意义。内容包括:1)以北海东岸濠濮间云岫厂和春雨林塘瀑布2个重要场景为研究对象,考证了其造园立意和价值,阐明前者借景手法,明确春雨林塘北至摛锦轶云牌坊、南至小石牌坊的景点范围,分析其瀑布的叠石艺术价值;2)基于以上讨论了其AR搭载内容和构建方法,即以逆向建模为起点,在中国历史名园AR系统上,对信息采集层及技术研发层提出了具体技术构建途径,有助提升历史名园游览的智慧化水平。AR技术将在搭载历史名园海量场景的历史、文化、艺术等内容的赏景与导览系统上深入应用。 相似文献
