This paper discusses television broadcasting to mobile phones by using services that stream content to their handset over high-speed, packet-based cellular networks. Millions more could soon join the fray with the launch of an alternative television-broadcast technology. The streamed service is great for watching new, sports, and quickly digestible entertainment programs, while in transit. But watching an hour-long TV program of a movie on a small screen is hard on the eyes, not to mention the wallet if you're buying the video stream from your mobile service provider. Now, mobile TV services begin to spread and cellphone companies are doing further development and deployment of the technology to be commercially available.

Prediction of reliability of broadcasting transmitter systems

This paper shows that the SPICE circuit simulation program is a useful tool for predicting the reliability of broadcasting transmitters. A broadcasting system formed of two transmitters fed from a common power supply unit is considered as a vehicle to illustrate the use of the proposed technique. Agreement between the steady-state probabilities obtained using the proposed technique are compared with results obtained using the Laplace transform method

近年来，随着广播电视台站数量的不断增加和同址共塔、共天线现象的增多，广播、电视频段（尤其是调频广播频段）的频谱占用度显著增大，各种互调杂散产物的数量和幅度也明显增多、增大。同时，广播电视发射机的大功率、宽频带发射也使得航空通信接收机产生互调的概率大大增加。为此，对广播电视发射机进行在线测试显得十分必要。它不仅可以较准确地测试单个广播电视发射机的发射指标，还可以定位产生互调杂散成分的广播电视发射机，是开场监测方法的必要补充，有助于定量研究抑制互调杂散干扰措施的有效性（如加装滤波器）。     

Data transmission over analog TV broadcasting

The implementation of a contemporary method that enables the transmission of digital information at a rate of 2 Mbps over TV signal using the existing broadcasting infrastructure is described. Detailed information on the prototype hardware is given along with experimental results that prove the validity of the proposed method. Development of satellite TV distribution and broadcasting

European satellite communications are steadily growing but the same cannot be said of satellite TV, which has been the main driver so far. The number of satellite transponders in orbit will more than double in the next four years; satellite broadcasting, however, is moving into a period of consolidation but some uncertainty about the time needed for profitability of individual channels. Indecision about the regulatory framework for MAC transmissions and unknowns about the much-promoted high-definition TV do not make clear predictions possible. The emergence of business communication and links to Eastern Europe generally will diversify satellite communications. However, the dominance of the national telecommunication administrations will remain for some time, despite the European Commission's push for reregulation and the success of SES/Astra in direct-to-home broadcasting.
