Search engine optimization (SEO) pertains to the activity of optimizing individual websites and webpages to get higher page rank in the search results. Websites are ordinarily optimized through back links, while individual webpages are optimized through specific keywords. In this paper, we propose a framework based on set of guidelines for keyword research analysis and back links generation. The proposed framework suggests that webpage content should be based on keywords and the site traffic should be monitored through referrals. We argue that if a website has some prevalent and pertinent keywords in its content and title along with a reasonable amount of back links that help watch the website traffic, then we can get better rank for the website in the search results. The framework also emphasizes that proper keyword selection and link building should be taken into account when developers and designers work on a software development project. The results of the study are reported here.  相似文献

This paper sheds, through the concepts of demography, a differnet light on the study of scientific journals. Without leaving aside the major role played by scientific journals, such an approach allows for the use of tools which are at the basis of information watch in research. Different key variables are used such as the date of its birth of a journal (resp. its date of death), the migration to other fields of knowledge or to other audiences... A certain number of indicators are exposed such as the rates (gross or net) of new publications or deaths. This paper studies the problem of scheduling a multiple-load carrier subject to last-in-first-out loading constraints in an automobile assembly line. Two scheduling criteria, the throughput of the assembly line and the material handling distance, are considered in order to maximise the profit of the assembly line. Different from other studies, the product mix and weights of the scheduling criteria are considered to be variable. A scheduling approach is proposed for the problem. At moments when the product mix or weights of the scheduling criteria change, the scheduling approach can select an appropriate rule from a set of given rules. In this study, the proposed approach is compared with other approaches by simulation in order to verify the performance of the proposed approach. The results indicate that, when the product mix and weights of the scheduling criteria are variable, the proposed scheduling approach outperforms other approaches.  相似文献

Scientific production has been evaluated from very different perspectives, the best known of which are essentially based on the impact factors of the journals included in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). This has been no impediment to the simultaneous issuing of warnings regarding the dangers of their indiscriminate use when making comparisons. This is because the biases incorporated in the elaboration of these impact factors produce significant distortions, which may invalidate the results obtained. Notable among such biases are those generated by the differences in the propensity to cite of the different areas, journals and/or authors, by variations in the period of materialisation of the impact and by the varying presence of knowledge areas in the sample of reviews contained in the JCR. While the traditional evaluation method consists of standardisation by subject categories, recent studies have criticised this approach and offered new possibilities for making inter-area comparisons. In view of such developments, the present study proposes a novel approach to the measurement of scientific activity, in an attempt to lessen the aforementioned biases. This approach consists of combining the employment of a new impact factor, calculated for each journal, with the grouping of the institutions under evaluation into homogeneous groups. An empirical application is undertaken to evaluate the scientific production of Spanish public universities in the year 2000. This application considers both the articles published in the multidisciplinary databases of the Web of Science (WoS) and the data concerning the journals contained in the Sciences and Social Sciences Editions of the Journal Citation Report (JCR). A serious shortcoming of bibliometric studies based on the(Social) Science (s) Citation Index is the lack of an universally applicable subject classification scheme as individual papers are concerned. Subject classification of papers on the basis of assigning journals to subject categories (like those found in the various supplements of ISI databases) works well in case of highly specialised journals, but fails for multidisciplinary journals such asNature, Science andPNAS—and so far as subfields are taken into consideration-also for “general” journals (e.g.JACS orAngewandte Chemie). This study presents the results of a pilot project attempting to overcome this shortcoming by delimiting the subject of papers published in multidisciplinary and general journals by an item-by-item subject classification scheme, where assignment is based on the analysis of the subject classification of reference literature. The results clearly confirmed the conclusions of earlier studies by the authors in the field of reference analysis. For the really important journals (sufficiently high number of annual publications and high impact with respect to the field), the share of classifiable papers was surprisingly high, and the assignment proved reliable as well. Since papers in the leading general and multidisciplinary journals are frequently citing general and multidisciplinary journals, an iterated application of the procedure is expected to increase the number of classifiable publications. The results of the new methodology may improve the validity of bibliometric studies for research evaluation purposes.  相似文献

Abstract

Olana, the extraordinary private home of American painter Frederic Church, perches high above the Hudson River, with commanding views of the Catskill Mountains and the verdant countryside, approximately 120 miles north of New York City (figure 1). Frederic Edwin Church (1826–1900), the internationally recognized painter of exotic locales and the North American landscape, lived much of his adult life at Olana, and it was here he retreated when arthritis curtailed his passion for world travel. Designed by architect Calvert Vaux in a Persian style, but in large measure created by Church, the house is architecturally eclectic, an exuberant physical manifestation of the artist's interests, beliefS and travels. Olana is also home to Church's personal collections offine art, books and photographs. Church assembled at Olana an art collection of fifty pieces (including old master paintings, art by his friends and contemporaries, as well as work of his own), a library of 1900 volumes (mainly travel, geography, science and religion), and a collection of approximately 5700 photographs. Although not a photographer himself, Church was an active collector of photographs throughout his life. This photograph collection, wellpreserved but only recently catalogued, and exhibited for the first time at the Dahesh Museum of Art, New York, is of compelling interest to historians of art and photography alike.  相似文献

A robust approach to nondestructive test (NDT) design for material characterization and damage identification in solids and structures is presented and numerically evaluated. The generally applicable approach combines maximization of test sensitivity with minimization of test information redundancy, while simultaneously minimizing the effects of uncertain system parameters to determine optimal NDT parameters for robust nondestructive evaluation. In addition, to maintain reasonable computational expense while also allowing for general applicability, a stochastic collocation technique is presented for the quantification of uncertainty in the robust design metrics. The robust NDT design approach was tested through simulated case studies based on the characterization of localized variations in Young's modulus distributions in aluminum structural components utilizing steady‐state dynamic surface excitation and localized measurements of displacement and compared with a purely deterministic NDT design approach. The robust design approach is shown to produce substantially different NDT designs than the analogous deterministic strategy. More importantly, the robust NDT designs are shown to provide significant improvements in the ability to accurately nondestructively evaluate structural properties for the cases considered, when there is significant uncertainty in system parameters and/or aspects of the NDT implementation. A serious shortcoming of bibliometric studies based on theSocial Sciences Citation Index is the lack of a universally applicable subject classification scheme as individual papers are concerned. Moreover, the selective coverage of more than thousand scientific journals per annum proved to be an insuperable obstacle in the delimitation of social science subject areas. Subject classification of papers on the basis of assigning journals to subject categories (like those found in the various supplements of ISI databases) works well in case of fully covered and highly specialised journals in the social sciences, too, but fails for multidisciplinary and selectively covered journals. This study presents the results of an item-by-item subject classification approach, where assignment is based on the analysis of the subject categories of reference literature. This analysis extends the results of an earlier study by the authors on the possibility of delimiting subfields in the hard and life sciences based on reference analysis. The assignment proved also reliable for a considerable share of literature in the social sciences. Due to the peculiarities of the database this share is lower in the SSCI than that in the SCI. Although an iterated application of the procedure is expected to increase the number of classifiable publications, it is suggested that in the sociated sciences the method should be used in combination with other means of subject assignment.  相似文献

Periodically fully-developed flow (PFD) and heat transfer in a channel subject to isothermal conditions must either be formulated as an eigenvalue problem and solved iteratively or the PFD solution must be extracted as a part of developing flow (DF) solution by considering the entire flow domain. The first approach is mathematically complex and the second approach is computationally inefficient. In this work, an alternative approach is proposed wherein a PFD flow solution is used as an input to all modules of a DF domain and the PFD temperature field is extracted by monitoring variation in module-averaged Nusselt number. The proposed method was validated by comparing results obtained by the proposed method with results in the literature for three sample problems: flow between parallel plates, flow over round tubes in parallel plate channel, and flow in a parallel plate channel with staggered plate fins. Flow and energy equations were solved by using a control volume based finite element method in conjunction with SIMPLER algorithm. Results obtained by the proposed approach compared very favorably with the results published in the literature.  相似文献

In a manufacturing system with flexible capacity, inventory management can be coupled with capacity management in order to handle fluctuations in demand more effectively. Typical examples include the effective use of temporary workforce and overtime production. In this paper, we discuss an integrated model for inventory and flexible capacity management under non-stationary stochastic demand with the possibility of positive fixed costs, both for initiating production and for using contingent capacity. We analyze the characteristics of the optimal policies for the integrated problem. We also evaluate the value of utilizing flexible capacity under different settings, which enable us to develop managerial insights.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the analysis of stress intensity factors of a semi-infinite body with an elliptical or a semi-elliptical crack subject to tension. Analysis is based on the body force method [1] which has been applied to the various plane stress problems. In this paper the method is extended to three-dimensional problems. The numerical calculations are performed for various shapes and configurations of ellipses and the results are in agreement with the two-dimensional cases by M. Isida asb/a→0. The stress intensity factor of a semi-elliptical crack in a plate of finite width is also discussed.  相似文献
