In this paper, we discuss the transmission performance of Multi-Carrier Modulation (MCM) in frequencyselective fast Rayleigh fading channels. First, we optimize the transmission parameters of MCM withM-ary differential phase shift keying/differential detection (DPSK):the guard duration andthe number of sub-carriers for frequency-selective fast Rayleigh fading channels, and then show the bit error rate (BER) performance of the optimizedM-ary DPSK MCM. Next, we propose an MCM with pilot-assistedM-ary quadrature amplitude modulation/coherent detection (QAM), and discuss the BER performance when we reduce the number of pilot signals from the view-point of frequency-time utilization efficiency. Finally, we propose a two-stage frequency offset compensation method.  相似文献

A new joint signal detection and channel parameter estimation scheme is proposed for multiple subcarrier signaling with pilot symbol-assisted modulation (PSAM) schemes. The proposed scheme estimates a pair of parameters associated with the generation process of the fading frequency selectivity, which is common to all the subcarriers. This parameter estimation can effectively extract information regarding the fading frequency selectivity through the pilot symbols received not only by the subcarrier of interest, but by other ones as well. The fading complex envelope with each subcarrier is derived from the estimates of the parameter pair. With the proposed scheme, performances are evaluated through simulations and are compared with the performance of a subcarrier-by-subcarrier detection scheme  相似文献

This article proposes a dynamic subcarrier and power allocation algorithm for multicell orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) downlink system, based on inter-cell interference (ICI) mitigation. Different from other ICI mitigation schemes, which pay little attention to power allocation in the system, the proposed algorithm assigns channels to each user, based on proportional-fair (PF) scheduling and ICI coordination, whereas allocating power is based on link gain distribution and the loading bit based on adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) in base transceiver station (BTS). Simulation results show that the algorithm yields better performance for data services under fast fading.  相似文献

基于子载波采用16阶差分幅度相移键控(16DAPSK)的正交频分复用(OFDM)系统,提出并分析了编码16DAPSK信号的一种新的简单易行的比特软输出解调译码方法。仿真结果表明,在高斯信道、平坦Rayleigh衰落信道和多径Rayleigh衰落信道下,采用编码速率为3/4的punctured卷积码与16DAPSK信号的硬输出解调译码方法相比,系统的误码性能可改善约1.2dB。新方法应用在日本CRL开发的100Mbps毫米波16DAPSK-OFDM宽带移动接入实验系统,将进一步提高系统误码性能。  相似文献

差分酉空时调制(DUSTM)是一种应用于时变衰落信道下的多天线调制方法。该方法在慢衰落信道下无需知道信道状态信息而能获得全发送分集增益。但是,在快速衰落信道下,其性能明显恶化并且呈现出较高的误码平层。该文通过在差分酉空时调制中引入矩阵分割和子矩阵交织等操作提出了一种基于子矩阵交织的差分酉空时调制(SMI-DUSTM)方案,并对其性能进行了分析。性能分析和相应的计算机仿真证明了SMI-DUSTM 不仅能够继承DUSTM在慢衰落信道下的优点,而且在快速衰落信道下能够保持良好的系统性能。  相似文献

In this paper, we provide the design criteria of the nonlinear companding transforms for reduction in peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of multi-carrier modulation (MCM) signals, which can enable the original MCM signals to be transformed into the desirable distribution. As examples, some novel nonlinear companding transforms have been proposed to transform the amplitude or power of the original MCM signals into uniform distribution, which can effectively reduce the PAPR for different modulation formats and subcarrier sizes without any complexity increase and bandwidth expansion. It has been shown by computer simulations that the proposed schemes can significantly improve the performance of MCM systems including bit-error-rate and PAPR reduction.  相似文献

In this paper, an orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA)‐based minimum end‐to‐end delay (MED) distributed routing scheme for mobile backhaul wireless mesh networks is proposed. The proposed scheme selects routing paths based on OFDMA subcarrier synchronization control, subcarrier availability, and delay. In the proposed scheme, OFDMA is used to transmit frames between mesh routers using type‐I hybrid automatic repeat request over multipath Rayleigh fading channels. Compared with other distributed routing algorithms, such as most forward within radius R, farthest neighbor routing, nearest neighbor routing, and nearest with forwarding progress, simulation results show that the proposed MED routing can reduce end‐to‐end delay and support highly reliable routing using only local information of neighbor nodes.  相似文献

A power and bandwidth-efficient bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) with orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and iterative decoding (BI-COFDM-ID) using combined multidimensional mapping and subcarrier grouping is proposed for broadband transmission in a frequency-selective fading environment. A tight bound on the asymptotic error performance is developed, which shows that subcarrier mapping and grouping have independent impacts on the overall error performance, and hence, they can be independently optimized. Specifically, it is demonstrated that the optimal subcarrier mapping is similar to the optimal multidimensional mapping for bit-interleaved coded modulation with iterative decoding (BICM-ID) in frequency-flat Rayleigh fading environment, whereas the optimal subcarrier grouping is the same with that of OFDM with linear constellation preceding (LCP). Furthermore, analytical and simulation results show that the proposed system with the combined optimal subcarrier mapping and grouping can achieve the full channel diversity without using LCP and provide significant coding gains as compared to the previously studied BI-COFDM-ID with the same power, bandwidth, and receiver complexity.  相似文献

This paper describes technologies for the improvement of the noise and nonlinearity characteristics of wireless access systems based on subcarrier optical transmission. First, the superimposed subcarrier modulation (SSM) technique is proposed to reduce the reflection noise induced by fiber connectors. We experimentally confirmed that the proposed method reduces this noise, and we found the optimum frequency and power of the superimposed subcarrier, SSM design methodology is also presented, taking both noise and nonlinearity into account. Second, signal extraction with frequency arrangement (SEFA) is proposed for increasing the optical modulation index, because the third-order intermodulation distortion (IM3) produced by the optical devices can be ignored. Simulation results show that SEFA greatly improves the transmission performance in terms of both the ratio of desired-to-undesired signal and the receiver sensitivity under Rayleigh fading. Combining the SSM and SEFA is also considered, for use with FP-LDs or DFB-LDs. These technologies will enable cheaper FP-LD implementation in fiber-oriented wireless access systems  相似文献

Differential unitary space‐time modulation (DUSTM) has emerged as a promising technique to obtain spatial diversity without intractable channel estimation. This paper presents a study of the application of DUSTM on multiple‐input multiple‐output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO‐OFDM) systems with frequency‐selective fading channels. From the view of a correlation analysis between subcarriers of OFDM, we obtain the maximum achievable diversity of DUSTM on MIMO‐OFDM systems. Moreover, an efficient implementation strategy based on subcarrier reconstruction is proposed, which transmits all the signals of one signal matrix in one OFDM transmission and performs differential processing between two adjacent OFDM blocks. The proposed method is capable of obtaining both spatial and multipath diversity while reducing the effect of time variation of channels to a minimum. The performance improvement is confirmed by simulation results.  相似文献

We propose, analyze, and demonstrate a novel transmitter architecture for links that support transmission of base-band data and subcarrier multiplexed control channels. The architecture utilizes a differential external integrated-optic modulator to electrooptically combine the base-band and subcarrier multiplexed data onto an optical carrier. An analytical model is presented that allows optimization of the SNR of the received base-band and control data channels based on modulation parameters. This optimization is based on tradeoffs that result when the base-band and subcarrier channel are combined using a nonlinear modulator transfer function. We experimentally demonstrate a link based on this architecture with 2.5-Gb/s base-band and 100-Mb/s control data multiplexed on a 5.5-GHz subcarrier. Analytical and measured experimental results are compared and are shown to be in good agreement.  相似文献

从理论和实验上论证了一种用于掺铒光纤放大器 (EDFA)远程在线监控和判断级连EDFA系统级间断点位置的技术方案。该方案利用频移键控 频分复用 (FSK FDM)技术进行声频副载波调制 ,通过光强度调制实现远程在线EDFA监控信息随主信号的传输。实验测得在副载波调制度为 3 %和 15 %时 ,10Gbit s波分复用 (WDM)光传输系统的功率代价分别为 0 16dB和 0 86dB。采用锁相技术 ,成功进行了 3 %调制度的监控信息解调。说明该方案可以实现对 5级EDFA系统的监控  相似文献

We analyze the spectral efficiency (sum-rate per subcarrier) of randomly spread synchronous multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) subject to frequency-selective fading in the asymptotic regime of number of users and bandwidth going to infinity with a constant ratio. Both uplink and downlink are considered, either conditioned on the subcarrier fading coefficients (for nonergodic channels) or unconditioned thereon (for ergodic channels). The following receivers are analyzed: a) jointly optimum receiver, b) linear minimum mean-square error (MMSE) receiver, c) decorrelator, and d) single-user matched filter.  相似文献

Root and Varaiya proved the existence of a code that can communicate reliably over any linear Gaussian channel for which the channel mutual information level exceeds the transmitted rate. This paper provides several examples of scalar (single-input single-output) fading channels and shows that on these channels the performance of low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes lies in close proximity to the performance limits identified by Root and Varaiya. Specifically, we consider periodic fading channels and partial-band jamming (PBJ) channels. A special case of periodic fading is the variation of signal-to-noise ratio across orthogonal frequency division modulation subchannels. The robustness of LDPC codes to periodic fading and PBJ across parameterizations of these different channels is demonstrated through the consistency of the required mutual information to provide a specified bit error rate. For the periodic fading case, the Gaussian approximation to density evolution has been adapted such that asymptotic threshold measures can be compared to simulated code performance in various periodic fading scenarios  相似文献

This paper studies optical communications using subcarrier phase shift keying (PSK) intensity modulation through atmospheric turbulence channels. The bit error rate (BER) is derived for optical communication systems employing either on/off key (OOK) or subcarrier PSK intensity modulation. It is shown that at BER = 10-6 and a scintillation level of sigma = 0.1, an optical communication system employing subcarrier BPSK is 3 dB better than a comparable system using fixed-threshold OOK. When sigma = 0.2, an optical communication system employing subcarrier BPSK achieves a BER = 10-6 at SNR = 13.7 dB, while the BER of a comparable system employing OOK can never be less than 10-4. Convolutional codes are discussed for optical communication through atmospheric turbulence channels. Interleaving is employed to overcome memory effect in atmospheric turbulence channels. An upper bound on BER is derived for optical communication systems employing convolutional codes and subcarrier BPSK modulation.  相似文献

Acquisition and tracking are two crucial stages necessary to the carrier frequency synchronization in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. In this letter, by employing the rotation property of OFDM data subcarriers, a simple time-frequency decision-feedback loop without the use of pilot subcarriers is proposed for the fine carrier frequency offset (CFO) tracking. Specifically, with proper loop parameters, a residual CFO less than 10% of the subcarrier spacing may be well tracked for quarternary phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation in the presence of noise, while for systems using QPSK, 16-QAM, and 64-QAM modulation schemes, the bit-error rate (BER) performance very close to that of an offset-free system may be achieved in both additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and frequency selective fading channels. Moreover, a hardware implementation in a practical OFDM system is fulfilled which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

Cognitive radio (CR) is a dynamic spectrum access technology as a solution to spectrum under-utilization problem in some licensed bands. Operating over an exceedingly wide spectrum, CR systems usually adopt multi-carrier modulation (MCM) to implement flexible channelization. Consequently, efficient channel allocation scheme becomes extremely important to an MCM based CR (MCM-CR) system. In this paper, a maximum likelihood detection model is developed to detect the presence and locations of licensed users (LUs) signals in the frequency domain. Performance of the detection model, including the optimal detection region, detection probability and false alarm probability, is analyzed. A one-order two-state Markovian chain model is proposed to predict channel status information. In particular, a novel subcarrier allocation scheme for MCM-CR systems is proposed, taking into account the confidence of channel estimation, quality of services (QoS) of rental users (RUs) and throughput. To validate the analytical results, simulations have been conducted to show effectiveness of the proposed scheme.  相似文献

Wavelet packet division multiplexing (WPDM) is a high-capacity, flexible, and robust multiple-signal transmission technique. In this paper, a novel WPDM system based on optimum pilot symbol assisted modulation (OPSAM) and a maximum likelihood (ML) algorithm is studied for Rayleigh fading channels. The ML detecting algorithm and the new discrete wavelet packet transform structure, which is based on pilot symbol assisted modulation (PSAM) using a least mean squares algorithm, are two novel aspects of the presented system. An expression for the bit error rate of the WPDM scheme on quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) is derived in the presence of flat fading and Gaussian noise. It is demonstrated by simulation results that the OPSAM WPDM scheme can provide greater immunity to flat fading channels and Gaussian noise than the OPSAM orthogonal frequency division multiplexing scheme, the differential QPSK WPDM scheme, and the normal PSAM WPDM scheme.  相似文献
