The morphology and fracture toughness of epoxy resins modified with amino-terminated polydimethylsiloxane (ATPDMS), differing in their molecular weight, and the degree of the preliminary reaction in the melt state were investigated. Tetramethyl biphenol diglycidyl ether (TMBPDGE) was used as the base epoxy resin. The degree of preliminary reaction between epoxy and polysiloxane increased with the decrease of the molecular weight of polysiloxane in the melt state. When the low molecular weight polysiloxane (AT900) was mixed with high molecular weight polysiloxane in the preliminary reaction, the low molecular weight polysiloxane enhanced the compatibility between the epoxy resin and the high molecular weight polysiloxane and produced smaller size and narrow distribution of polysiloxane particles. The small and highly concentrated polysiloxane particles, as determined by scanning electron microscopy improved the fracture toughness of the epoxy resin. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The thermal expansion coefficient and physical aging behavior of cured epoxy resins modified with amino-terminated polydimethylsiloxane were investigated. The epoxy resin was tetramethyl biphenol diglycidyl ether. Two factors influenced the thermal expansion behavior and the free volume relaxation of the polysiloxane-modified epoxy systems. One was the miscibility between the epoxy resin and the polysiloxane and the flexibility of the chains in the network system. The intrinsic thermal expansion of the network chains and the volume relaxation increased as a result of building polysiloxane molecules into the network structure. The other factor was the size and concentration of the dispersed polysiloxane particles. The increased local free volume at the interface between the epoxy matrix and the polysiloxane particle resulted in a higher thermal expansion coefficient and led to a large driving force for the volume relaxation during annealing. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 以5种单官能缩水甘油醚——腰果酚缩水甘油醚(NC-513)、烯丙基缩水甘油醚(AGE)、苄基缩水甘油醚(692)、正丁基缩水甘油醚(660)及甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯(GMA)和侧链氨基聚硅氧烷为原料,通过环氧基与氨基的反应对侧链氨基聚硅氧烷进行改性。研究了不同反应条件下,改性聚硅氧烷的凝胶行为,表征了改性聚硅氧烷的结构。结果表明,NC-513与侧链氨基聚硅氧烷的反应活性最大;且室温以上时,改性聚硅氧烷凝胶的形成不受反应溶剂及原料反应官能团量之比的影响,所形成的凝胶为氢键物理交联;当温度升高时,会伴有羟基缩合的化学交联,烯键不与氨基反应。由于GMA中烯键和环氧基均与氨基反应,故形成化学交联凝胶。AGE、692、660改性聚硅氧烷在有溶剂的体系形成凝胶,在无溶剂情况下不形成凝胶。  相似文献

Polyol or polysiloxane thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPU) were used to reduce micro-cracking in cresol–formaldehyde novolac epoxy resin cured with phenolic Novolac resin for electronic encapsulation application. A stable dispersion of TPU particles in an epoxy resin matrix was achieved via the epoxy ring opening with isocyanate groups of urethane prepolymer to form an oxazolidone. The effects of structure and molecular weight of TPU in reducing the stress of electronic encapsultant were investigated. The mechanical and dynamic viscoelastic properties and morphologies of TPU modified epoxy networks were also studied. A “sea-island” structure was observed via SEM. The dispersed polysiloxane TPU rubbers not only effectively reduce the stress of cured epoxy resins, by reducing flexural modulus and the coefficient of thermal expansion, but also increase the glass transition temperature because of the rigid oxazolidone structure formation. Electronic devices encapsulated with the polysiloxane TPU modified epoxy molding compounds exhibited excellent resistance to the thermal shock cycling test and resulted in extended device life. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A synthesized polydimethylsiloxane containing an isocyanate group was used to improve the flexibility and to reduce the internal stress of epoxy resin cured with MDA (4,4′-methylene dianiline). The effect of polysiloxane content on the curing kinetics of a novolac-type epoxy modified with an isocyanate group was investigated. It was found that the modified epoxy resin showed significant improvement in impact strength. The polysiloxane containing isocyanate groups effectively depressed the internal stress of cured epoxy resins by reducing the flexural modulus and the coefficient of thermal expansion, while the glass transition temperature was increased. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
