High performance electro-optic modulator, as the key device of integrated ultra-wideband optical systems, have become the focus of research. Meanwhile, the organic-based hybrid electro-optic modulators, which make full use of the advantages of organic electro-optic (OEO) materials (e.g. high electro-optic coefficient, fast response speed, high bandwidth, easy processing/integration and low cost) have attracted considerable attention. In this paper, we introduce a series of high-performance OEO materials that exhibit good properties in electro-optic activity and thermal stability. In addition, the recent progress of organic-based hybrid electro-optic devices is reviewed, including photonic crystal-organic hybrid (PCOH), silicon-organic hybrid (SOH) and plasmonic-organic hybrid (POH) modulators. A high-performance integrated optical platform based on OEO materials is a promising solution for growing high speeds and low power consumption in compact sizes.  相似文献

设计、制作并测试了1.55 m 光波长的微带线行波电极电光调制器。如果聚合物材料的电光系数33=30 pm/V,中心电极L 为20 mm,设计的调制器性能参数半波电压为6.70 V。用自主合成的发色团分子组成二阶非线性光学聚合物材料做为芯层制作的聚合物调制器,对调制器的各项性能参数进行了直流、低频和微波性能的测试,采用不同极化方法,在1.55 m 波长上测得低频半波电压分别为10.5 V(电晕极化)和4.9 V(接触极化),折算得芯层材料的电光系数分别为21 pm/V 和45 pm/V。测得消光比为24 dB。用矢量网络分析仪测试电极系统的微波性能,S 参数反映了此电极系统具有低的微波传输损耗和反射损耗。  相似文献

A 2×2 cross/bar polymer electro-optic(EO) routing switch is proposed,which is composed of two passive channel waveguides and two active EO polymer microrings with bending radius of only 13.76 μm.Detailed structure,theory and formulation are provided to characterize the output power of the switch.For obtaining fundamental mode propagation,small bending loss and phase-matching between channel waveguide and microring resonator(MRR) waveguide,the structural parameters are optimized under the wavelength of 1550 nm.Analyses and simulations on output power and output spectra indicate that a switching voltage of 5 V is desired to realize the exchange between cross state and bar state,the crosstalk under cross state and that under bar state are about 28.8 dB and 39.9 dB,respectively,and the insertion losses under these two states are about 2.42 dB and 0.13 dB,respectively.Compared with our four EO switches reported before,this device possesses ultra-compact size of 0.233 mm×0.233 mm as well as low crosstalk and insertion loss,and therefore it can serve as a good candidate for constructing large-scale optical routers or switching arrays in photonic network-on-chip(NoC).  相似文献

We design a channel-drop filter(CDF)with a linear gradient microcavity in a two-dimensional(2D)photonic crystal(PC).The model of three-port CDF with reflector is used to achieve high quality factor(Q-factor)and 100%channel-drop efficiency.The research indicates that adjusting the distance between reference plane and reflector can simultaneously influence the Q-factor due to coupling to a bus waveguide and the phase retardation occurring in the round trip between a microcavity and a reflector.The calculation results of 2D finite-difference time-domain(FDTD)method show that the designed filter can achieve the drop efficiency of 96.7%and ultra-high Q-factor with an ultra-small modal volume.  相似文献

提出了一种利用环形金属结构实现低雷达散射截面(Radar Cross Section, RCS)的微带贴片天线.该结构由几个金属同心环排布而成.对典型的微带天线, 通过在辐射贴片周围加载该环形结构, 天线可以实现明显的宽带RCS减缩效果.实验结果表明:与参考天线相比, 对于X极化垂直入射波以及Y极化垂直入射波在6~25 GHz范围内都有减缩效果, 天线在12.8 GHz时可以达到30 dB的减缩量, 同时天线的辐射特性得到保持.  相似文献

Novel transfer functions are presented for a polymer electro-optic microring resonator switches. The resonating process of the light in the microring is simulated using the formulas. Then the optimization of the structural parameters is performed, and the characteristics are analyzed, such as the resonance time, output spectrum, operation voltage, insertion loss and crosstalk were analyzed. The design, fabrication and performance of integrated electro-optic Mach-Zehnder interferometers is described. Operation of a 4-bit analogue-to-digital convertor comprising an array of interferometers with an integral optical input distributor has been demonstrated. A novel fabrication process using a hot embossing technique has been developed for micromechanical passive alignment of polymer planar lightwave circuit (PLC) devices. With only one step of embossing, single-mode waveguide straight channels and micropedestals for passive aligning are simultaneously defined on a polymer thin film with an accuracy of /spl plusmn/0.5 /spl mu/m. This process reduces the steps for fabricating alignment structures. A fabricated polymer PLC chip and fibers are combined on a v-grooved silicon optical bench (SiOB) in a flip-chip manner. The process provides a coupling loss as low as 0.67 dB per coupling face and a cost-effective packaging solution for various polymer PLC devices.  相似文献

聚合物分散液晶(PDLC)是液晶微滴分散在聚合物基体中形成的一种具有优异电光性能的材料,PDLC的电光特性对基于PDLC的电光器件的性能具有显著影响。本文对紫外固化光强对PDLC电光特性的影响进行研究。本研究使用紫外照射引发的聚合物诱导相分离方法制备PDLC。在4个不同紫外固化光强(1mW/cm~2、1.8mW/cm~2、3mW/cm~2和9mW/cm~2)条件下制备PDLC样品,并对4个样品的电光特性如电压-透过率、响应时间和迟滞效应进行研究,并对实验结果给出了分析。实验结果表明:随着紫外固化光强的增加,PDLC的阈值电压和饱和电压增加,开态响应时间ton上升,关态响应时间toff下降,同时对于高紫外光强聚合制备的样品迟滞效应也更加明显。本研究表明可以通过改变制备过程中的紫外光强来优化PDLC的电光特性,从而获得性能优异的基于PDLC的电光器件。  相似文献

A novel design for a passive microwave filter is presented. The filter consists of a stacked array of low loss dielectric layers, whose permittivity profile alters in a near sinusoidal manner. 提出了一种新型的聚合物波导电光调制器,同时利用了聚合物材料的Pockels效应和Kerr效应,在不增加调制电压的情况下,通过引入直流偏压增加了调制器的调制度,调制深度随着直流偏压的增加而增加。采用峰-峰值9.9V的调制电压、100V的直流偏压,利用pockels电光系数γ33仅为4.052×10-14 m/V和二次电光系数S33为6.889×10-21 m2/V2的聚合物材料制备了波导电光调制器,实现了7.54%的调制度。如果采用具有更高的分子极化率及电光系数的非线性共轭聚合物材料,可期待在更低的直流偏压和工作电压情况下,得到更高的调制深度。调制器的工作面积大,可以实现大面积光斑的调制。本文的聚合物波导电光调制器适用于激光脉冲喷丸强化与成形技术,通过调整调制器的直流工作偏压,能够实现激光光斑能量的精细调节。  相似文献

We present some optical signal processing methods for optical time-division multiplexing, based on electro-optic modulators. Dual-parallel Mach–Zehnder modulator and time-lens-based signal processing for optical frequency comb generation, optical Nyquist pulse generation and time-domain demultiplexing are realized. Multifunctional optoelectronic oscillators which are capable of performing simultaneous electrical clock recovery, optical clock recovery and demultiplexing are demonstrated with modulators embedded as the key components.  相似文献

提出了一类新型表面波天线,并分析其辐射特性。研究结合预修正快速傅里叶变换方法和矩量法的算法求解体面结合积分方程,快速准确分析金属介质混合问题。通过对比表面波天线的辐射方向图和驻波测试曲线,验证了算法的准确性。分析了该表面波天线的金属电流分布,说明该天线具有单振子天线的辐射特性,为天线高增益、小型化设计提供了思路。  相似文献
