Human Computer Interaction is a primary factor in the success or failure of any device but if an objective view is taken of the current mobile phone market you would be forgiven for thinking usability was secondary to aesthetics. Many phone manufacturers modify the design of phones to be different than the competition and to target fashion trends, usually at the expense of usability and performance. There is a lack of awareness among many buyers of the usability of the device they are purchasing and the disposability of modern technology is an effect rather than a cause of this. Designing new text entry methods for mobile devices can be expensive and labour-intensive. The assessment and comparison of a new text entry method with current methods is a necessary part of the design process. The best way to do this is through an empirical evaluation. The aim of the paper is to establish which mobile phone text input method best suits the requirements of a select group of target users. This study used a diverse range of users to compare devices that are in everyday use by most of the adult population. The proliferation of the devices is as yet unmatched by the study of their application and the consideration of their user friendliness.  相似文献

针对传统双因素认证缺乏可用性的问题,本文提出了一种基于情景感知的低交互移动双因素认证系统.用户通过本系统登录网站时,除输入用户名和口令外,只需点击令牌程序的认证键即可完成认证,平均登录时间不超过5秒.同其它可用性加强的移动双因素认证系统相比,本系统能够抵抗同一环境下的攻击者,而且支持用户手机浏览器进行网站登录.最终安全分析和实验结果证实了本方法的有效性.  相似文献

为了了解现有智能手机提示音设计的适用性及其对手机人机交互体验的影响,首先采用问卷的方式调查了智能手机提示音设计中存在的问题和用户使用习惯和需求,然后采用心理实验方法对手机来电铃声、短信提示音的适用类型、适用音量进行了进一步研究。调查问卷发现,智能手机的部分提示音没有起到应有的提示作用,用户对自动音量设置的需求较大。主观评价实验发现,用户偏爱使用的歌曲类来电铃声在嘈杂环境中辨识度最低,而语音类来电铃声的辨识度最高,当铃声音量高于环境噪声10 dB以上才可以避免漏接电话的问题。短信提示音适宜采用短音调序列,与用户的偏爱设置一致。  相似文献

As information technologies have become embedded in daily life, end-users encounter unexpected dangers from using IT. Electromagnetic field (EMF) risk from mobile phones is an example of those dangers. In this paper, we explore how much users value their tolerance of EMF risk by scrutinizing their preference structure of mobile phone devices. The preference structure was generated from conjoint analysis including three attributes of mobile phone devices: brand, price, and electromagnetic emission. In addition, we examined four groups which were clustered based upon their preference structure. Results show that the risk is differently perceived by user clusters and approximately 80% of respondents are likely to change their mobile phone brands for better protection from EMF risk.  相似文献

Teaching-learning models supported by technology have evolved since the emergence of personal computers until the present day, where m-learning has been incorporated thanks to mobile technology. In this context, some works have proposed mobile learning systems (MLS). One of the main requirements of this kind of systems in terms of software quality is the usability. Therefore, the analysis and evaluation of the usability of MLS are especially relevant; however, few works have addressed the usability issues using field studies with students and professors in real domains. In this paper, we present a usability assessment of a Context-Aware Mobile Learning System (CAMLS) based on a field study with six professors and forty-eight high school students in a real environment. The results obtained from the usability assessment show that, on average, the services offered by the system have 82.4% acceptance by users (professors and high school students), with the learning reinforcement service through SMS messages having the highest acceptance for teachers, with a positive perception of 91.5%. Meanwhile, for the high school students, the Mobile Learning Objects (MLOs) suggestion service was highest with 81% acceptance. Based on the obtained results, the evaluated mobile learning system holds wide acceptance, satisfaction, and applicability from teachers’ and students’ perspectives. The usability assessment described in this study can serve as a reference for developers seeking to improve mobile learning systems development.  相似文献

International and national organizations have recommended limits for the protection of mobile phone users and standards are going to be established to certify the compliance of mobile phone with these limits. To ensure this conformity, numerical and experimental dosimetric analyses are essential to evaluate the electric field in the user’s head. The use of interpolation and extrapolation is then necessary to evaluate the electric fields components which cannot be measured. In this paper, an interpolation/extrapolation method using wavelets is presented. This method is applied to one, two, and three-dimensional sampled data from dosimetric experiments and compared with other interpolation/extrapolation techniques.  相似文献

The mobile phone has emerged as the newest medium of interactive marketing and advertising. Undoubtedly, users of a personal medium like the mobile phone play a decisive role in commercializing the mobile phone. By examining the major influences on mobile phone users’ behavioral responses to SMS (Short Message Service) ads, this study seeks to shed light on the evolution of the mobile telephony as a bona-fide medium. Results of a survey of 407 mobile phone users in Singapore show that receiving SMS ads has become widespread, although the number of SMS ads received remains small. Furthermore, the instrumental and diversion motivations, prior consent, and privacy concerns directly affect the likelihood for users to pass the ads to others. Finally, when the users respond positively to SMS ads, the ads can be highly effective in triggering a purchase. Theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed.  相似文献

The importance of the mobile phone in the life of adolescents has led observers to speak of a Mobile Youth Culture. One of the central characteristics of this youth culture is the use of the mobile phone as a means to display or enhance one’s status in the peer group. To date, however, little attention has gone out to the different uses adolescents may have for their mobile phones. Therefore, this study aims to further our understanding of the heterogeneity in adolescent mobile phone use by examining whether we can distinguish between different ‘mobile lifestyles’ within the Mobile Youth Culture. Drawing on a quantitative survey among 1943 Flemish adolescents (12–18 years), we differentiated three lifestyles based on their attitudes towards the mobile phone as a fashion article, as a display of one’s popularity and as a display of one’s time scarcity. A two-step cluster procedure based on respondents’ scores on these three mechanisms revealed three different segments: trendy users (N = 603), engaged users (N = 864) and thrifty users (N = 436). These segments showed significantly different profiles in terms of socio-demographics, their use of the mobile phone in the presentation of the Self and the mobile phone’s role in their friendship relationships.  相似文献

Wireless sensor networks improve the quality of human daily life like ubiquitous city and healthcare services as well as the fundamental monitoring such as environment pollution, tunnel monitoring, earthquake diagnostic, and so on. To increase usability and feasibility of collected sensor data, a wireless sensor network should be required to apply a variety of mobile devices to give the information at anytime and anywhere to users. Thus, we present multi-sensor centric smart sensor network architecture using general mobile devices in order to provide more efficient and valuable sensor network application and services. The proposed system architecture is based on IEEE 802.15.4-2006 standard with smart mobile devices. We also show some scenarios with on-demand request and real time event driven data to show the feasibility of the proposed architecture using five kinds of sensors such as magnetic, photodiode, microphone, motion and vibration. Based on the experiment results, we show that the proposed system has the potential as smart mobile device-based wireless sensor network architecture.  相似文献

This study draws on the uses and gratifications framework to examine expanded use of a hybrid medium—the mobile phone—for mass communications and entertainment. Results of a telephone survey of 208 users show different motivations predict diverse uses of the mobile phone. Instrumental use motives drive the use of the mobile phone for news-seeking and Web-surfing. Further, the motive of pass time is significantly linked to playing video games via the mobile phone. In addition, the high-tech mobile phone enabled users to be more active: the more intensively people use mobile phones for voice calls, the more likely they will be to use mobile data services. Thus, the hybrid mobile phone bridges interpersonal and mass communication. Finally, younger users are more likely to use mobile phones for getting news and entertainment. Implications for the industry and recommendations for future research are discussed.  相似文献

Recently, the explosive growth of mobile social media technologies has dramatically transformed individuals’ interpersonal interaction, decision-making, and daily lifestyles. The primary objectives of this current article are to investigate the possible influences of perceived values (hedonic and utilitarian) on WeChat users’ affective responses (attitude and satisfaction) and electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) engagement. This study represents one of the few that utilized customer-perceived value theory and uses and gratifications theory to establish a conceptual framework to determine consumers’ word-of-mouth behaviors in the WeChat setting. Based on a web-based survey of 408 WeChat users, structure equation modeling was implemented to identify and confirm the hypothesized research model. Overall, the results reveal that hedonic value and utilitarian value positively and significantly impact WeChat users’ attitudes and anticipated satisfaction. Additionally, satisfaction has a significant influence on eWOM engagement. Furthermore, utilitarian value is discovered to exert a significant indirect effect through satisfaction on eWOM engagement. The obtained outcomes offer fresh insight into whether and how mobile social media could promote mobile social media users’ attitudes and gratification which subsequently would facilitate indicators of eWOM engagement in contemporary mobile-mediated context.  相似文献

Two waves of technology are dramatically changing daily life: cloud computing and mobile phones. New cloud computing services such as webmail and content rich data search have emerged. However, in order to use these services, a mobile phone must be able to run new applications and handle high network bandwidth. Worldwide, about 3.45 billion mobile phones are low end phones;they have low bandwidth and cannot run new applications. Because of this technology gap, most mobile users are unable to experience cloud computing services with their thumbs. In this paper, a novel platform, Thumb-in-Cloud, is proposed to bridge this gap.Thumb-in-Cloud consists of two subsystems: Thumb-Machine and Thumb-Gateways. Thumb-Machine is a virtual machine built into a low end phone to enable it to run new applications. Thumb-Gateways can tailor cloud computing services by reformatting and compressing the service to fit the phone' s profile.  相似文献

为了更加有效地防止车辆被盗,笔者设计了一种远程汽车防盗报警系统。系统以单片机作为控制器,利用其通信功能及WISMO移动通信模块Q2403A,将汽车被盗的警情信号用短信息的方式发送到某个确定的手机用户,使该报警信息能及时地跟随手机用户,达到移动报警的目的。同时该手机用户还可以给系统回复短信息,以控制汽车的状态,另外,系统还可以根据接收到的控制短信息的不同内容,向手机用户发送当前系统状态的提示信息,从而实现系统和手机用户之间的互动。  相似文献
