Estimation and scheduling of future pavement maintenance and rehabilitation (M&R) works are one of the primary concerns of highway agencies due to the limited allocations in budget and resources. Two approximate methods for estimation of pavement rehabilitation cost are presented and compared in this study based on highway present condition index (HPCI) and rehabilitation history. The former is based on pavement condition, while the latter is based on historical and statistical trends. Database from a pavement management system (PMS) of various highway sections surveyed in Korea were used in this study to establish a relationship between HPCI and pavement service life and to analyse the trends of rehabilitation periods. The two simple methods presented provide useful information and probable range for the various highway agencies to guide them in the preliminary planning, budgeting, estimating and scheduling of their future pavement M&R works.  相似文献

Abstract

With growing complex infrastructure, autonomous condition assessment of large-scale structures has garnered significant attention over the past few decades. Data-driven structural health monitoring (SHM) techniques offer valuable information of existing health of the structures, maintain the safety and their uninterrupted use under varied operational conditions by undertaking timely risk and hazard mitigation. Traditional approaches, however, are not enough to monitor a large amount of SHM data and conduct systematic decision making for future maintenance. In this article, building information modeling (BIM) is utilised as a promising computing environment and integrated digital representation platform of SHM that can organize and visualise a considerable amount of sensor data and subsequent structural health information over a prolonged period. A BIM-enabled platform is utilised to develop the proposed visualisation tool for a long-span bridge and enable automated sensor data inventory into the BIM environment. Such automated tool facilitates systematic maintenance and risk management, while avoiding manual errors resulting from visual inspection of the structures. The proposed method can be considered as a user-friendly and economic framework for condition assessment and disaster mitigation of structures from long-term monitored data.  相似文献

This article presents a technique to determine the effects of an earthquake on road traffic conditions by linking seismic hazard and bridge fragility models with a traffic model and traffic sensor data. Using the earthquake characteristics as an input to the traffic model, the traffic conditions are sequentially estimated given traffic sensor measurements using an ensemble Kalman filter. The proposed algorithm is tested on a numerical experiment on Interstate 155 West near the New Madrid Seismic Zone in New Madrid, Missouri. The results show that the proposed technique improves the post-disaster traffic estimate. The problem of placing embeds into existing reinforced concrete structures without damaging reinforcement bars is an industry-wide challenge for the construction industry. This paper presents research that investigated real-time monitoring approaches for hazardous engineering processes. A conceptual solution for processing and incorporating point cloud data obtained from 3D imaging technologies1 into the drilling process in was developed. The 3D imaging technologies were used to map the locations of rebar within a section of a railway bridge deck. Once the point clouds were processed, zones which are safe for drilling were automatically detected and saved as a Building Information Model (BIM). The BIM was used to provide real-time feedback to the drill operator about whether it is safe to continue drilling based on the position and orientation of the drill. The results showed the feasibility of real-time feedback for improving the safety, productivity, and quality of engineering processes by helping avoid the time and cost of rework.  相似文献

为实时掌握海洋牧场环境参数的动态变化和养殖生物的活动状态,采用海洋环境因子及水下影像采集和传输技术,以自制浮标平台为载体,在有效解决多路传感器数据并行采集及远程传输、水下摄像头承载装置的防水密封、水下影像数据远程传输等关键技术的基础上,研发了海水养殖环境信息综合监测系统。结果表明:该系统同时调用多个串口进行数据采集,能保证在一个时间节点上多参数水质数据的及时采集和准确性;采用丁腈橡胶材料构成的压紧螺母式电缆密封装置能有效防止海水的渗漏和腐蚀;解码板的分辨率设置为QCIF或者CIF模式,最大码率设置为120 kbps,帧率设置为8~15时,图像的流畅和清晰度较为适中。研究表明,该系统可用于海洋牧场水环境因子监测和水下养殖生物实时监测。  相似文献

Various algorithms based on deep learning have achieved promising results in pavement distress detection. However, the detected distresses are not tracked throughout the life cycle. In long-term application scenarios, pavement distresses may take on different forms due to image acquisition mode, distress development, and environmental change, which make tracking distresses a tough question. We present in this study a spatiotemporal matching method based on high-frequency real pavement distress datasets. Pavement distresses of fixed routes were collected 30 times over 5 months, and distresses with spatiotemporal information were obtained at time series. We apply image rectification, stitching and distress class, and bounding box generation algorithms for pre-processing to align the collected images to the same-detail level and angle. A four-step spatiotemporal matching module is designed, including global positioning system (GPS) filtering, class filtering, relative position filtering, and distress feature filtering. The results reveal that the comprehensive rank-3 hit rate of the matching method reaches 88.73%, and the method is robust to environmental factors, which helps show performance decay of distresses and the effect of maintenance operations. It is concluded that the spatiotemporal matching method is convenient to operate, and it lays the foundation for an agency to track distress evolution and make timely treatment of distresses in the life cycle.  相似文献

针对高寒地区重载交通水泥稳定碎石基层沥青路面存在的水损害问题,采用具有较大孔隙率和较高强度的多孔混凝土作为沥青路面的排水基层。结合多孔混凝土的刚性特征,初拟路面结构,采用Hpds软件对多孔混凝土基层沥青路面结构进行计算和验算,并分析了其用作高寒地区沥青路面基层的可行性。最后与水泥稳定碎石基层沥青路面做了对比。结果表明,孔隙率为15%的多孔混凝土作为高寒地区沥青路面基层,不仅能够起到排除路面内部水的功能,而且能够满足重载交通的需求。  相似文献
