We propose the $n$ -dimensional scale invariant feature transform ( $n$-SIFT) method for extracting and matching salient features from scalar images of arbitrary dimensionality, and compare this method's performance to other related features. The proposed features extend the concepts used for 2-D scalar images in the computer vision SIFT technique for extracting and matching distinctive scale invariant features. We apply the features to images of arbitrary dimensionality through the use of hyperspherical coordinates for gradients and multidimensional histograms to create the feature vectors. We analyze the performance of a fully automated multimodal medical image matching technique based on these features, and successfully apply the technique to determine accurate feature point correspondence between pairs of 3-D MRI images and dynamic $3{rm D} + {rm time}$ CT data.   相似文献

Ultra-compact phase shifters are presented. The proposed phase-shifting circuits utilize the lumped element all-pass networks. The transition frequency of the all-pass network, which determines the size of the circuit, is set to be much higher than the operating frequency. This results in a significantly small chip size of the phase shifter. To verify this methodology, 5-bit phase shifters have been fabricated in the $S$ - and $C$ -band. The $S$ -band phase shifter, with a chip size of 1.87 mm $,times,$0.87 mm (1.63 mm $^{2}$), has achieved an insertion loss of ${hbox{6.1 dB}} pm {hbox{0.6 dB}}$ and rms phase-shift error of less than 2.8$^{circ}$ in 10% bandwidth. The $C$ -band phase shifter, with a chip size of 1.72 mm $,times,$0.81 mm (1.37 mm $^{2}$), has demonstrated an insertion loss of 5.7 dB $pm$ 0.8 dB and rms phase-shift error of less than 2.3 $^{circ}$ in 10% bandwidth.   相似文献

An ultra-low power 128 $times$ 64 pixels vision sensor is here presented, featuring pixel-level spatial contrast extraction and binarization. The asynchronous readout only dispatches the addresses of the asserted pixels in bursts of 80 MB/s, significantly reducing the amount of data at the output. The pixel-embedded binary frame buffer allows the sensor to directly process visual information, such as motion and background subtraction, which are the most useful filters in machine vision applications. The presented sensor consumes less than 100 $muhbox{W}$ at 50 fps with 25% of pixel activity. Power consumption can be further reduced down to about 30 $muhbox{W}$ by operating the sensor in Idle-Mode, thus minimizing the sensor activity at the ouput.   相似文献

The non-Bayesian detection of an anomaly from a single or a few noisy tomographic projections is considered as a statistical hypotheses testing problem. It is supposed that a radiography is composed of an imaged nonanomalous background medium, considered as a deterministic nuisance parameter, with a possibly hidden anomaly. Because the full voxel-by-voxel reconstruction is impossible, an original tomographic method based on the parametric models of the nonanomalous background medium and radiographic process is proposed to fill up the gap in the missing data. Exploiting this ldquoparametric tomography,rdquo a new detection scheme with a limited loss of optimality is proposed as an alternative to the nonlinear generalized likelihood ratio test, which is untractable in the context of nondestructive testing for the objects with uncertainties in their physical/geometrical properties. The theoretical results are illustrated by the processing of real radiographies for the nuclear fuel rod inspection.  相似文献

This paper presents compact CMOS quadrature hybrids by using the transformer over-coupling technique to eliminate significant phase error in the presence of low-$Q$ CMOS components. The technique includes the inductive and capacitive couplings, where the former is realized by employing a tightly inductive-coupled transformer and the latter by an additional capacitor across the transformer winding. Their phase balance effects are investigated and the design methodology is presented. The measurement results show that the designed 24-GHz CMOS quadrature hybrid has excellent phase balance within ${pm}{hbox{0.6}}^{circ}$ and amplitude balance less than ${pm} {hbox{0.3}}$ dB over a 16% fractional bandwidth with extremely compact size of 0.05 mm$^{2}$. For the 2.4-GHz hybrid monolithic microwave integrated circuit, it has measured phase balance of ${pm}{hbox{0.8}}^{circ}$ and amplitude balance of ${pm} {hbox{0.3}}$ dB over a 10% fractional bandwidth with a chip area of 0.1 mm$^{2}$ .   相似文献

Maximum-likelihood (ML) detection for higher order multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) systems faces a major challenge in computational complexity. This limits the practicality of these systems from an implementation point of view, particularly for mobile battery-operated devices. In this paper, we propose a modified approach for MIMO detection, which takes advantage of the quadratic-amplitude modulation (QAM) constellation structure to accelerate the detection procedure. This approach achieves low-power operation by extending the minimum number of paths and reducing the number of required computations for each path extension, which results in an order-of-magnitude reduction in computations in comparison with existing algorithms. This paper also describes the very-large-scale integration (VLSI) design of the low-power path metric computation unit. The approach is applied to a 4 $times$ 4, 64-QAM MIMO detector system. Results show negligible performance degradation compared with conventional algorithms while reducing the complexity by more than 50%.   相似文献

An all-digital RF signal generator using DeltaSigma modulation and targeted at transmitters for mobile communication terminals has been implemented in 90 nm CMOS. Techniques such as redundant logic and non-exact quantization allow operation at up to 4 GHz sample rate, providing a 50 MHz bandwidth at a 1 GHz center frequency. The peak output power into a 100 Omega diff. load is 3.1 dBm with 53.6 dB SNDR. By adjusting the sample rate, carriers from 50 MHz to 1 GHz can be synthesized. RF signals up to 3 GHz can be synthesized when using the first image band. As an example, UMTS standard can be addressed by using a 2.6 GHz clock frequency. The measured ACPR is then 44 dB for a 5 MHz WCDMA channel at 1.95 GHz with output power of -16 dBm and 3.4% EVM. At 4 GHz clock frequency the total power consumption is 120 mW (49 mW for DeltaSigma modulator core) on a 1 V supply voltage, total die area is 3.2 mm2 (0.15 mm2 for the active area).  相似文献

Broad-area plasmon-waveguide interband cascade lasers with emission wavelengths near 7.5 mu m were demonstrated at temperatures up to 121 K in continuous-wave mode. Their threshold current densities and voltages varied from 72 A/cm2 and 2.1 V at 84 K to 400 A/cm2 and 2.7 V at 121 K, showing very efficient use of bias voltage (e.g., voltage efficiency of about 90% at 84 K) at this long wavelength. These plasmon-waveguide lasers also operated in pulsed mode at temperatures up to 165 K with emission wavelengths near 7.6 mum and threshold current density of 1100 A/cm2.  相似文献

An $L$-band polarization-independent reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) is demonstrated for the first time. Optical gain of greater than 21 dB and gain flatness better than 4 dB is achieved over the $L$-band. The polarization-dependent gain estimated using a polarization resolved spectrum is less than 1 dB over the $L$-band. The measured output saturation power is $-$1.0 dBm and the noise figure (NF) is 10 dB for the packaged device. The 3-dB frequency bandwidth for the device is 1.3 GHz making it suitable for 1.25-Gb/s modulated wavelength-division-multiplexed passive optical network networks. Further, the saturation power and the NF of the RSOA were compared with an SOA of identical length.   相似文献

A four-element phased-array front-end receiver based on 4-bit RF phase shifters is demonstrated in a standard 0.18- $mu{{hbox{m}}}$ SiGe BiCMOS technology for $Q$-band (30–50 GHz) satellite communications and radar applications. The phased-array receiver uses a corporate-feed approach with on-chip Wilkinson power combiners, and shows a power gain of 10.4 dB with an ${rm IIP}_{3}$ of $-$13.8 dBm per element at 38.5 GHz and a 3-dB gain bandwidth of 32.8–44 GHz. The rms gain and phase errors are $leq$1.2 dB and $leq {hbox{8.7}}^{circ}$ for all 4-bit phase states at 30–50 GHz. The beamformer also results in $leq$ 0.4 dB of rms gain mismatch and $leq {hbox{2}}^{circ}$ of rms phase mismatch between the four channels. The channel-to-channel isolation is better than $-$35 dB at 30–50 GHz. The chip consumes 118 mA from a 5-V supply voltage and overall chip size is ${hbox{1.4}}times {hbox{1.7}} {{hbox{mm}}}^{2}$ including all pads and CMOS control electronics.   相似文献

A diode-end-pumped $Q$ -switched mode-locking $hbox{Nd:GdVO}_{4}$ laser operating at 1.34 $mu{hbox {m}}$ with an acousto-optical (AO) Q-switch in a compact V-type cavity was realized in our experiment for the first time. When the AO Q-switch repetition rate was 10 kHz, the maximum average output power of 750 mW and the pulse energy of 75 $muhbox{J}$ were obtained at the maximum incident pump power of 9 W. The mode-locking modulation depth of about 100% was obtained at certain pump power over the threshold. The mode-locked pulse inside in the $Q$-switched pulse had a repetition rate of 341 MHz, and its average pulsewidth was estimated to be about 350 ps. A developed rate equation model for the $Q$ -switched and mode-locked lasers with an AO Q-switch were proposed by using the hyperbolic secant functional methods. The results of numerical calculations of the rate equations were in good agreement with the experimental results.   相似文献

This paper presents a new method for islanding detection of distributed generation (DG) inverter that relies on analyzing the reactive power versus frequency (Q-f) characteristic of the DG and the islanded load. The proposed method is based on equipping the DG interface with a Q-f droop curve that forces the DG to lose its stable operation once an islanding condition occurs. A simple passive islanding detection scheme that relies on frequency relays can then be used to detect the moment of islanding. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated under the IEEE 1547 and UL 1741 antiislanding test configuration. The studies reported in this paper are based on time-domain simulations in the power systems computer-aided design (PSCAD)/EMTDC environment. The results show that the proposed technique has negligible nondetection zone and is capable of accurately detecting islanding within the standard permissible detection times. In addition, the technique proves to be robust under multiple-DG operation.  相似文献

This paper addresses two important problems of interest for deep-space optical communications, quantum inter-chip/intra-chip optical communications and quantum-key distribution: 1) the problem of coded M-ary phase-shift keying optical coherent-state quantum communication in the absence of background radiation, and 2) the problem of coded binary coherent state communication in the presence of background radiation. In both cases large girth low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes are used as channel codes. With girth-10 LDPC-code of rate 0.8 and BPSK, the bit-error ratio of 10- 8 can be achieved for average number of signal photons of 0.73, resulting in net-effective coding gain of 7.63 dB.  相似文献

A $K$-band distributed frequency doubler is developed in 0.18 $mu{rm m}$ CMOS technology. This doubler combines the distributed topology for broadband characteristics and current-reuse technique to improve the conversion gain. The high-pass drain line and high-pass inter-stage matching network are used to obtain a good fundamental rejection. A measured conversion gain of better than ${- 12.3}~{rm dB}$ is obtained, and the fundamental rejection is better than 30 dB for the output frequency between 18 and 26 GHz. The dc power consumption is 10.5 mW with a chip size of 0.55$,times,$0.5 ${rm mm}^{2}$.   相似文献

The first laser action produced by the partially deuterated isotopic form of methanol, $^{13}$ CHD$_{2}$ OH, has been observed. With this laser medium, eight far-infrared laser emissions were discovered having wavelengths ranging from 33.8 to 80.9 $mu$m. A three-laser heterodyne system was used to measure the frequencies for these newly discovered laser lines and are reported with fractional uncertainties of ${pm}3 times 10^{-7}$. The offset frequency of the CO$_{2}$ pump laser was measured with respect to its center frequency for each $^{13}$CHD$_{2}$OH laser emission.   相似文献

The ADC shown in this paper uses an innovative sigma-delta (SigmaDelta) architecture that replaces the flash quantizer and mismatch corrected DAC of a multibit continuous time (CT) modulator by a time domain encoder similar to a PWM modulator to reduce the effective ADC area. The modulator achieves the resolution of a multibit design using single bit circuitry by concentrating most of the quantization error energy around a single frequency, which is afterwards removed, seizing the zeros of a sinc decimation filter. The non flat error spectrum is accomplished by use of two filter loops, one of which is made to operate in a self-oscillating mode. An experimental CT-SigmaDelta ADC prototype has been fabricated in 0.13 mum CMOS which implements a third order modulator with two operating modes. Measurements show an effective number of bits (ENOB) of 10 bits and 12 bits in a signal bandwidth of 17 MHz and 6.4 MHz, respectively, and a power-efficient figure of merit (FoM = Pwr/2 middot BW middot 2ENOB) of 0.48 pJ/conversion at 1.5 V supply. The active area of the ADC is 0.105 mm2.  相似文献
