In 2012,China's net import of crude was 268.7 million tons,which is 18.63 million tons higher than that of the previous year.Net import of refined products increased greatly as the naphtha import climbed up and gasoline and diesel import shrank.Net LPG import had been reduced gradually for the third year and the sharp rise of petroleum coke import lifted the net imports of other relevant products by 50％.The total net import of crude,refined products,liquefied gas and other products was increased by 7.9％,reaching 293.1 million tons.The share of imported petroleum on the nation's total oil product consumption was raised from 59.9％ in 2011 to 62.1％ (Fig 1).

CNOOC Ambitious and Fruitful in Domestic Offshore Oil and Gas Sector

CNOOC Limited announced on July 18 that it has agreed to purchase a 24.5 percent stake in QHD 32-6 oil field the cost of US$150 million. Meanwhile,CNOOC Limited has agreed to pay each of two foreign partners US$20 million for a 49 percent stake in LH11-1 oil field.

Current Conditions and Outlook of Global Offshore Oil and Gas Exploration

The world is rich in offshore oil and gas resources. The offshore oil reserves account for about 34 percent of the world＇s total. With a 30 percent proven rate, offshore oil exploration is still in its preliminary stage. Based on the statistics by ＂Oil ＆ Gas Journal,＂ as of the January 1, 2006, the proven oil reserves worldwide are 175.7 billion tons and the proven natural gas reserves 173 trillion cubic meters. The global offshore oil reserves approach 135 billion tons, of which 38 billion tons are proven, while the offshore natural gas reserves amount to about 140 trillion cubic meters, of which 40 trillion cubic meters are proven.
