Contemporary technology offers many benefits to older people, but these are often rendered inaccessible through poor software design. As the Internet increasingly becomes a source of information and services it is vital to ensure that older people can access these resources. As part of project funded by the UK government, a multi-disciplinary team set out to develop usable software that would help to introduce older people to the Internet. The first step was to develop an email system for older people with no experience of Internet use. The project was intended to show that it is possible to design usable technology for this group and to explore some of the issues involved in doing so. Design and technical challenges necessitated various tradeoffs. The system produced demonstrated the success of the design decisions: it was significantly easier to use than, and preferred to, a commercial equivalent by a group of older people with no experience of Internet use.  相似文献

以大量实验数据为基础在Maple平台上运用最小二乘法,估算了气相苯加氢反应中反应速率常数及苯的吸附平衡常数,结果较为满意;并且估算了CO与Cl_2在活性炭表面上催化合成光气的反应中动力学的最优参数,计算值与实验值的最大相对误差不超过5%;最后推算了NO与H_2反应的反应速度方程式,计算值与文献值很相似。应用这种方法既克服手工计算的繁琐、工作量大的缺点,还能提高计算的精度,大大地方便了化学反应速率式的确定。  相似文献

This study focuses on designing an optimisation based control for sewer system in a methodological way and linking it to a regulatory control. Optimisation based design is found to depend on proper choice of a model, formulation of objective function and tuning of optimisation parameters. Accordingly, two novel optimisation configurations are developed, where the optimisation either acts on the actuators or acts on the regulatory control layer. These two optimisation designs are evaluated on a sub-catchment of the sewer system in Copenhagen, and found to perform better than the existing control; a rule based expert system. On the other hand, compared with a regulatory control technique designed earlier in Mollerup et al. (2015), the optimisation showed similar performance with respect to minimising overflow volume. Hence for operation of small sewer systems, regulatory control strategies can offer promising potential and should be considered along more advanced strategies when identifying novel solutions.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, the problem of robust control for non-cooperative rendezvous is investigated based on implicit Lyapunov function (ILF) method. The dynamical model of relative motion between two spacecrafts is established in the body coordinate system of the chaser spacecraft without using the target-orbital information. In view of unknown inertia parameters and external disturbances, an ILF control-observer scheme is introduced, where the ideal controller is first designed and then estimated by the observer. The closed-loop system is proved to be finite-time stable, and the controller and observer gains are, respectively, obtained by solving linear matrix inequalities and parameterised nonlinear matrix inequalities. To reduce the computational burden, analytical solutions to these matrix inequalities are provided. The effectiveness of the theoretical results is demonstrated by simulation examples.  相似文献

This paper shows how embedding a local search algorithm, such as the iterated linear programming (LP), in the multi-objective genetic algorithms (MOGAs) can lead to a reduction in the search space and then to the improvement of the computational efficiency of the MOGAs. In fact, when the optimization problem features both continuous real variables and discrete integer variables, the search space can be subdivided into two sub-spaces, related to the two kinds of variables respectively. The problem can then be structured in such a way that MOGAs can be used for the search within the sub-space of the discrete integer variables. For each solution proposed by the MOGAs, the iterated LP can be used for the search within the sub-space of the continuous real variables. An example of this hybrid algorithm is provided herein as far as water distribution networks are concerned. In particular, the problem of the optimal location of control valves for leakage attenuation is considered. In this framework, the MOGA NSGAII is used to search for the optimal valve locations and for the identification of the isolation valves which have to be closed in the network in order to improve the effectiveness of the control valves whereas the iterated linear programming is used to search for the optimal settings of the control valves. The application to two case studies clearly proves the reduction in the MOGA search space size to render the hybrid algorithm more efficient than the MOGA without iterated linear programming embedded.  相似文献
