Electrothermic production of molybdenum powder with particles of lamellar shape

Conclusions The results are presented of an investigation into the conditions of formation of molybdenum powder during electrothermic reduction. It is shown that high-purity molybdenum powder with a lamellar particle structure can be produced by the electrolysis of aqueous molybdate solutions using a mercury cathode, followed by the reduction annealing of the resulting cathodic deposit in a hydrogen atmosphere.Translated from Poroshkovaya Metallurgiya, No. 12 (96), pp. 5–9, December, 1970.
