采用准分子激光器成功地在低掺杂普通铒纤上制作出5 cm的光纤光栅分布反馈布拉格(DFB)激光器,铒纤的峰值吸收率为5 dB/m,在100 mW,980 nm抽运光条件下,光纤激光器的输出功率为50μW,边模抑制比为50 dB。使用耦合模理论分析了一段5 cm带相移的分布反馈布拉格光纤激光器输出光强同腔内损耗及相移量的关系,计算结果表明,光纤腔内的损耗对激光器的输出具有非常重要的影响,大的损耗对应获得最大功率的光栅耦合强度相应减小,因此,在低掺杂铒纤上制作分布反馈布拉格激光器必须正确估计光纤激光器的腔内损耗,选择合适的光栅耦合强度,可以获得较大的输出功率。 相似文献

In this letter, we experimentally study several different configurations of high-power single-frequency sources based on distributed-feedback fiber laser (DFB FL). In particular, we have compared two schemes in terms of pumping efficiency, relative intensity noise (RIN) and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR): directly pumped DFB FLs pumped by a high-power fiber-based pump source (stand-alone DFB FL) and a combination of a DFB FL and a power amplifier (amplified DFB FL). At the output powers below 40 mW, a stand-alone DFB FL has the highest OSNR (> 63 dB) and the lowest RIN (< -165 dB/Hz). The net efficiency of a stand-alone DFB FL can be doubled by using an amplified DFB FL at the expense of degraded OSNR and RIN. It is also shown that RIN below -160 dB/Hz and OSNR > 60 dB can be achieved by an amplified DFB with output power greater than 1 W. 相似文献

Three-level operation of a fiber distributed feedback (DFB) laser operating around 980 nm is demonstrated for the first time. The ytterbium-doped DFB laser shows a maximum slope efficiency of 61% and output power of 38.2 mW under a launched single-mode pump power of 150 mW at 910 nm. The efficiency of lasers with different coupling strengths and at different pump wavelengths is also investigated. 相似文献

设计并实现了一种基于人眼安全波段的1550 nm全光纤化结构单频脉冲光纤激光器。激光器采用外腔稳频技术的单频半导体激光器作为种子源,其线宽1.8 kHz,功率20 mW。通过预放大器和声光调制器获得单频脉冲激光,并运用两级光纤放大器实现了线宽1.9 kHz、平均功率521 mW、脉冲宽度200 ns、重复频率10 kHz的单频脉冲光纤激光输出。输出脉冲峰值功率达260 W。输出端采用了双包层单模光纤,保证了输出激光的光束质量。整个激光器通过对种子光级联放大,结合放大器的增益控制,成功抑制了受激布里渊散射(Stimulated Brillouin Scattering,SBS)效应,消除了放大过程中噪声对线宽的影响,获得了线宽稳定的单频脉冲激光。 相似文献

A high Er3+-doped narrow linewidth fiber laser based on fiber Bragg grating Fabry-Perot cavity was demonstrated. The spatial hole burning effect was restrained by a fiber Faraday rotator. Two short fiber Bragg grating Fabry-Perot cavities as narrow bandwidth filters discriminated and selected laser longitudinal modes efficiently. A stable single-frequency 1534.83 nm laser was acquired. Pumped by two 976 nm laser diodes and two-ended output, the fiber laser exhibited a 12 mW threshold. Total 39.5 mW output power and one end 22 mW output power were obtained at the maximum 145 mW pump power. Optical-optical efficiency was 27% and slope efficiency was 29.7%. The output power seemed to be saturated when pump power increased. The 3 dB linewidth of the laser was less than 7.5 kHz, measured by the delayed self-heterodyne method with 15 km monomode fiber. The high power narrow linewidth fiber laser can be used in high resolution fiber sensor systems. 相似文献

A single-frequency ytterbium fiber laser was demonstrated by introducing a loop mirror filter, a polarization controller (PC), and dual-cascaded fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) in linear laser cavity. The loop mirror with unpumped ytterbium fiber as a narrow bandwidth filter discriminated and selected laser longitudinal modes efficiently. The spatial hole burning effect was restrained by adjusting PC appropriately. Dual closely cascaded FBGs as the output coupler, acting as an etalon, expanded the operation range of single frequency. Output power up to 18 mW at 1064 nm were obtained under the launched pump power of 107 mW at 976 nm, the optical-optical conversion efficiency was about 16.8%; the slope efficiency was about 20%. 相似文献

Over 500 mW of single-frequency power has been obtained from a Ti:Al2O3 ring laser pumped by 10 W (all lines) from an argon ion laser. The ring laser can be tuned from 750 to 850 nm while maintaining more than 100 mW in single-frequency operation without realignment or a change of optics. The free-running frequency stability of the laser is 3 MHz. Thermal effects cause changes in the ring cavity parameters, limiting the output power. This ring laser has also been operated with an acoustooptic mode locker to obtain 200-ps mode-locked pulses at 250 MHz with nearly the same average power as in single-mode operation 相似文献

Transmission characteristics for a recently modulated measured distributed-feedbacked (DFB) laser and an externally modulated DFB laser using a Ti:LiNbO/sub 3/, Mach-Zehnder modulator at 4 Gb/s are discussed. The transmission characteristics are estimated by an advanced eye-pattern analysis method. The maximum measured fiber dispersion with a directly modulated laser is 100 to 140 ps/nm when the chirp power penalty is 1 dB. However, for external modulation, there is no power penalty after transmission over a 2220-ps/nm dispersive fiber. This confirms that external modulation has superior transmission characteristics. The modulation scheme for 4-Gb/s systems in terms of these results is discussed.<> 相似文献

We demonstrate an all-fiber high-power single-frequency Brillouin fiber ring laser with maximum power of 100 mW at 1.55 /spl mu/m, which is actively stabilized by using the Pound-Drever-Hall frequency-locking scheme. Significant reduction (/spl sim/20dB) of both relative intensity noise and frequency noise was observed in the Brillouin Stokes radiation as compared with those noises of its pump source, a narrow-linewidth Er-doped fiber laser. Low linewidths for Al-free active region distributed feedback lasers using a self-heterodyne measurement method (minimum beat width of 0.8 MHz at 20 mW and 12 C, 1.2 MHz at 852.12 nm 35 mW and 36 C) are demonstrated. Singlemode emission was achieved at 852.12 nm corresponding to the D2 caesium transition, with an optical output power of 35 mW at 140 mA under CW operation. Finally, the saturation spectra of caesium atoms with the DFB laser diode was recorded with a resolution close to the natural linewidth. 相似文献

A discretely tunable, single-frequency erbium-doped fiber ring laser demonstrates frequency locking to the 50-GHz ITU frequency grid with an accuracy of /spl plusmn/0.3 GHz and stability of /spl plusmn/0.05 GHz over a 50-nm tuning range. Semiconductor DFB (Distributed feedback) laser diodes with an operating wavelength of 1064 nm, which is suitable for pulse-on-demand fiber laser, have been developed. The stable performance of CW and nanosecond/picosecond pulsed operation is reviewed. By applying gain-switching operation with a simple direct modulation technique, 50-ps pulse generation with a stable spectral single-mode property was obtained. For the efficient amplification of the obtained 50-ps pulse, a monolithic semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) was integrated into the DFB lasers. An improved peak power of 300 mW at 50-ps pulse was observed with limited optical noise injection when the synchronous modulation technique of the DFB and the SOA was employed. Short cavity lasers showed a high-frequency response compared to the original DFB lasers and achieved a short pulse width of 13 ps by standard gain-switched operation. 相似文献
