Molecular properties of poly(dialkoxyphosphazene) (PDAOP) series with the aliphatic side-chains contained 3, 4, 6, and 7 carbon atoms were investigated in dilute benzene solutions by techniques of electro-optical Kerr effect and dynamo-optical Maxwell effect, and by dielectric spectroscopy. The sign inversion of Kerr effect and Maxwell effect in PDAOP solutions from positive to negative was detected at the side-chain length range of 5–6 carbon atoms. These phenomena were explained by the strong dependence of anisotropy of optical polarizability of PDAOP monomeric unit on chemical structure and change of its sign at the indicated side-chain lengths. It was demonstrated that PDAOPs possess a critical side-chain-length interval at which their physical properties, depending on the intramolecular ordering, display a singularity. It was also shown that the studied PDAOP samples are not flexible-chain polymers. They are characterized by Kuhn segment 47–65 Å, the value of which increases with the elongation of aliphatic side-chain. Dielectric properties of PDAOP were correlated to the properties of the macromolecules with manifestation of kinetic rigidity under a treatment of electric field. 相似文献

Owing to its simplicity and general ability to correctly portray a number of important flow phenomena, the two-parameter Maxwell model has been employed in a number of important engineering studies. The relation of this equation to linear viscoelasticity and to some molecular theories is considered. A new rule is developed which shows how the shear-dependent relaxation time and viscosity of the Maxwell model can be determined from linear viscoelastic parameters. It is thus shown that the two-parameter Maxwell model may be more general than earlier anticipated. 相似文献

The three-dimensional equations for a Maxwell body and a Kelvin body are derived and supplemented to include thermal effects. The relations for the thermo-Maxwell body are then applied to the tempering of infinite glass plates. An exact solution of the resulting differential equation is given in the form of a series expansion. Two viscoelastic constitutive relations in differential form are further developed here to include material nonlinearity and distinction between loading and unloading regimes, which is a characteristic of polymers. The effects of hydrostatic pressure and anisotropy in tension and compression on the deformation response of polymers are accounted for through the definition of a pressure‐dependent equivalent stress. In the uniaxial stress state, these constitutive relations reduce to the two well‐known mechanical analogue representations: “Kelvin–Voigt‐type” and “Maxwell‐type” rheological models. The predictive capabilities of these constitutive relations are then assessed against a wide range of experimental results, which include both uniaxial and biaxial stress states subjected to quasi‐static and cyclic‐loading conditions.
