一种基于小波变换的遥感图像压缩算法   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0  
为验证图像压缩算法122.0-B-0对遥感图像的有效性,在对该算法进行了较为详细的研究后,对该算法进行了软件实现,然后将该算法与JPEG2000、SPIHT算法在压缩效率及压缩速度上进行了比较.实验结果表明:该算法在较低码率下压缩性能与JPEG2000、SPIHT算法相当,在较高码率下压缩性能略微下降,但在相同码率下它的编码速度比JPEG2000快2倍左右,比SPIHT算法约快1.5倍左右,且编解码速度与码率成正比.该算法采用的编码方式相对简单,无反馈操作,可适应于不同内存大小的压缩系统,并采用分段编码有效地防止误码扩散,因此在空间飞行器上具有巨大的应用价值.  相似文献

Using biometrics for subject verification can significantly improve security over that of approaches based on passwords and personal identification numbers, both of which people tend to lose or forget. In biometric verification the system tries to match an input biometric (such as a fingerprint, face image, or iris image) to a stored biometric template. Thus correlation filter techniques are attractive candidates for the matching precision needed in biometric verification. In particular, advanced correlation filters, such as synthetic discriminant function filters, can offer very good matching performance in the presence of variability in these biometric images (e.g., facial expressions, illumination changes, etc.). We investigate the performance of advanced correlation filters for face, fingerprint, and iris biometric verification.  相似文献

The advancement in medical imaging systems such as computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emitted tomography (PET), and computed radiography (CR) produces huge amount of volumetric images about various anatomical structure of human body. There exists a need for lossless compression of these images for storage and communication purposes. The major issue in medical image is the sequence of operations to be performed for compression and decompression should not degrade the original quality of the image, it should be compressed loss lessly. In this article, we proposed a lossless method of volumetric medical image compression and decompression using adaptive block‐based encoding technique. The algorithm is tested for different sets of CT color images using Matlab. The Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) images are compressed using the proposed algorithm and stored as DICOM formatted images. The inverse process of adaptive block‐based algorithm is used to reconstruct the original image information loss lessly from the compressed DICOM files. We present the simulation results for large set of human color CT images to produce a comparative analysis of the proposed methodology with block‐based compression, and JPEG2000 lossless image compression technique. This article finally proves the proposed methodology gives better compression ratio than block‐based coding and computationally better than JPEG 2000 coding. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. JPEG2000存在大量计算冗余和消耗较大内存资源的缺陷.为了适应实时性要求高和资源有限的卫星图像的传输,提出一种新的基于率失真斜率的卫星图像码率控制算法.本方法是根据编码块的有效位平面数大致呈下降趋势和率失真斜率的三个属性提出一个简单的公式,通过此公式求得的率失真斜率作为层1编码的门限值,丢掉小于此门限值的编码通道,然后在该值基础上层2计算最优率失真斜率和截断点以实现码率控制,因而不需要编码所有的编码通道.实验结果表明,在0.125 bpp 时,本算法的存储量约占 PCRD 存储量的33%,而信噪比保持不变.因此,本方法可以有效地提高卫星图像的编码效率.  相似文献

A novel approach for lossless as well as lossy compression of monochrome images using Boolean minimization is proposed. The image is split into bit planes. Each bit plane is divided into windows or blocks of variable size. Each block is transformed into a Boolean switching function in cubical form, treating the pixel values as output of the function. Compression is performed by minimizing these switching functions using ESPRESSO, a cube based two level function minimizer. The minimized cubes are encoded using a code set which satisfies the prefix property. Our technique of lossless compression involves linear prediction as a preprocessing step and has compression ratio comparable to that of JPEG lossless compression technique. Our lossy compression technique involves reducing the number of bit planes as a preprocessing step which incurs minimal loss in the information of the image. The bit planes that remain after preprocessing are compressed using our lossless compression technique based on Boolean minimization. Qualitatively one cannot visually distinguish between the original image and the lossy image and the value of mean square error is kept low. For mean square error value close to that of JPEG lossy compression technique, our method gives better compression ratio. The compression scheme is relatively slower while the decompression time is comparable to that of JPEG.  相似文献

Medical images are known for their huge volume which becomes a real problem for their archiving or transmission notably for telemedicine applications. In this context, we present a new method for medical image compression which combines image definition resizing and JPEG compression. We baptise this new protocol REPro.JPEG (reduction/expansion protocol combined with JPEG compression). At first, the image is reduced then compressed before its archiving or transmission. At last, the user or the receiver decompresses the image then enlarges it before its display. The obtain results prove that, at the same number of bits per pixel lower than 0.42, that REPRo.JPEG guarantees a better preservation of image quality compared to the JPEG compression for dermatological medical images. Besides, applying the REPRo.JPEG on these colour medical images is more efficient while using the HSV colour space compared to the use of RGB or YCbCr colour spaces.  相似文献

由于需要对大面阵航空CCD相机带来的庞大航测图像数据进行压缩,在研究多种图像压缩算法的基础上提出了一种基于比特位平面编码的码率预分配图像压缩算法(RPCA)。首先将图像进行多级整数小波变换,以去除图像像素之间相关冗余。根据率失真理论并结合各个子带对图像重建质量的重要性原则,编码前事先确定每个子带在总码率一定的情况下各个子带在实际编码中应当分配的码率大小,再利用自适应MQ算术编码对每个子带比特平面进行熵编码,从而得到细致的嵌入式码流。实验仿真结果表明,该RPCA码率分配精准,图像压缩质量与JPEG2000标准相当,且支持无损到有损的任意倍率图像压缩,但复杂度低于JPEG2000标准,适合于硬件的高速实现。  相似文献

In this work, an 8 × 8 Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) approach is adopted to perform DCT shrinkage, followed by modified set partitioning in hierarchical trees (SPIHT) data organization and fidelity enhancement filter for reducing the memory required to store a remote diagnosis and rapidly transmit it. The DCT shrinkage has the ability to retain the detailed characteristics of an image. By means of a simple transformation to gather the DCT spectrum data with the same frequency domain, the DCT shrinkage exploits all the characteristics of individual blocks to a global framework. In this scheme, insignificant DCT coefficients that correspond to the same spatial location in the high‐frequency sub‐bands can be used to reduce the redundancy by a combined function proposed in association with the modified SPIHT. Meanwhile, quad‐tree decomposition and a set of morphological filters for reducing the artifacts are presented. This set of filters employs 8 predefined morphological operations, namely 4 structuring elements (SE), each of which includes both dilation and erosion operations. The voting strategy is used to select the most suitable morphological filter for each block. Simulation results show that the image compression reduced the computational complexity to only a half of the wavelet based sub‐band decomposition and improved the quality of the reconstructed medical image in terms of both the peak signal‐to‐noise ratio (PSNR) and the perceptual results close to JPEG2000 and the original SPIHT at the same bit rate. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this article, we proposed a selective partial image encryption scheme of Secure JPEG2000 (JPSEC) for digital cinema or any other JPEG2000‐based applications. It makes a scalable encryption scheme possible on the basis of a trade‐off relationship between the encryption effect and the encryption cost. The encryption scheme was designed to activate during the image compression process, which is between quantization and entropy coding. Three data selection schemes were involved to select the parts of data to be encrypted: subband selection, data bit selection, and random selection of coefficients. The experimental results with over 3000 test images revealed that the PSNRs were between about 9.5 to 7.5 dB when the portion of the encrypted data by this scheme was between 1/4096 and 1/256. As the encryption effect is reasonably high with very low cost, the proposed scheme has high potential to provide secure communications in a variety of wired/wireless scenarios. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The aim of image compression endeavour is to reduce the total data required to represent the image, which, in turn, decreases the demand of transmission bandwidth and storage space. In this work, we propose an image fusion based idea that can be exploited extensively to reduce the file size of JPEG compressed image further. Before performing the JPEG compression, we compute both intensity and a subsampled colour representation of the image undergoing compression. Then, similar to the JPEG compression, discrete cosine transformation, quantisation and entropy coding processes are applied on these images and stored in a single image file container. In the decoder, these two images are reconstructed and fused to obtain the resultant decoded image. Our experiments show that the proposed method does meet the lower storage and bandwidth requirement by reducing the average bits per pixel of the encoded image than that of the JPEG compressed image.  相似文献

目的结合人眼视觉特性,研究一种基于改进量化表的JPEG图像压缩算法(JPEG-HVS)。方法利用人眼亮度对比度敏感函数(CSF)生成一种新的量化表,来代替传统JPEG标准推荐的亮度量化表,并通过Matlab7.0对不同种类图像进行了仿真实验。通过计算不同种类图像的压缩质量评价指标,将提出的压缩算法与传统JPEG压缩算法及JPEG区域法进行对比。结果 JPEG-HVS实现的压缩比比JPEG实现的压缩比平均高出53.56%,比JPEG区域法平均高出18.75%。3种压缩方法的峰值信噪比(PSNR)波动不大,JPEG的PSNR值最大,JPEG-HVS次之,平均结构相似度(MSSIM)从大到小排列依次为JPEGJPEG-HVSJPEG区域法。JPEG-HVS编解码所需时间要明显少于JPEG。同时依靠主观评价可以发现,经JPEG-HVS解压的重构图像仍具有良好的视觉特性。结论在保证了压缩质量的同时,提出的JPEG-HVS压缩算法相比于传统JPEG压缩算法、JPEG区域法,可以实现更大的压缩比和更快的编解码速度,更有利于图像的存储与传输。  相似文献

A compression method of phase-shifting digital holographic data is presented. Three interference patterns are recorded, and holographic information is extracted from them by phase-shifting interferometry. The scheme uses standard baseline Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) or standard JPEG-2000 image compression techniques on the recorded interference patterns to reduce the amount of data to be stored. High compression rates are achieved for good reconstructed object image quality. The utility of the proposed method is experimentally verified with real holographic data. Results for compression rates using JPEG-2000 and JPEG of approximately 27 and 20, respectively, for a normalized root-mean-square error of approximately 0.7 are demonstrated.  相似文献

为分析CCD传感器噪声对遥感影像无损压缩的影响,选取ISO/IEC标准图像和UK-DMC多光谱影像作为测试图像,根据CCD传感器噪声模型,在测试图像上添加CCD传感器模拟噪声,采用JPEG2000-Lossless无损压缩算法对不同污染程度的噪声图像进行压缩处理,并对不同污染程度的噪声影像无损压缩比进行比较分析.而后,在多光谱遥感影像上添加模拟的混合噪声,分析CCD噪声对星地间数据传输效率的影响.实验结果表明,CCD传感器噪声对所获取影像的污染会降低遥感影像的无损压缩比和星地间数据传输效率,以泊松噪声为模型的散粒噪声与读出噪声对影像无损压缩的影响最大,以高斯噪声为模型的热噪声与暗电流噪声的影响次之,由于CCD器件工艺问题引发的脉冲噪声对无损压缩的影响最小.  相似文献

In JPEG2000, the Cohen–Daubechies–Feauveau (CDF) 9/7‐tap wavelet filter implemented by using the conventional lifting scheme has two problems. The first problem is that the filter coefficients are remaining complex; second, the conventional lifting scheme ignores image edges in the coding process. In this article, we propose an effective wavelet lifting scheme to solve these problems. For this purpose, we design the optimal 9/7‐tap wavelet filters in two steps. In the first step, we select the appropriate filter coefficients; in the second step, we employ a median operator to consider image edges. Experimental results from using the median lifting scheme and combining filter optimization and median lifting show that our proposed methods outperform the well‐known CDF 9/7‐tap wavelet filter of JPEG2000 on edge‐dominant images. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present a new image compression method for very-high-quality lossy compression. This method caters for image data in regimes of (a) detector imperfections, which motivates a robust approach based on the median transform; and (b) noise, which is explicitly sought and separated out, since noise is inherently noncompressible. An in-depth assessment is carried out on real data, relative to the standard JPEG compression method. Comparable visual quality is based on 260:1 compression with the new method, and 40:1 compression with JPEG. Accurate quality assessment of fused images, such as combined visible and infrared radiation images, has become increasingly important with the rise in the use of image fusion systems. We bring together three approaches, applying two objective tasks (local target analysis and global target location) to two scenarios, together with subjective quality ratings and three computational metrics. Contrast pyramid, shift-invariant discrete wavelet transform, and dual-tree complex wavelet transform fusion are applied, as well as levels of JPEG2000 compression. The differing tasks are shown to be more or less appropriate for differentiating among fusion methods, and future directions pertaining to the creation of task-specific metrics are explored.  相似文献
