A novel Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3 − δ + LaCoO3 (BSCF + LC) composite oxide was investigated for the potential application as a cathode for intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cells based on a Sm0.2Ce0.8O1.9 (SDC) electrolyte. The LC oxide was added to BSCF cathode in order to improve its electrical conductivity. X-ray diffraction examination demonstrated that the solid-state reaction between LC and BSCF phases occurred at temperatures above 950 °C and formed the final product with the composition: La0.316Ba0.342Sr0.342Co0.863Fe0.137O3 − δ at 1100 °C. The inter-diffusion between BSCF and LC was identified by the environmental scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray examination. The electrical conductivity of the BSCF + LC composite oxide increased with increasing calcination temperature, and reached a maximum value of ∼300 S cm−1 at a calcination temperature of 1050 °C, while the electrical conductivity of the pure BSCF was only ∼40 S cm−1. The improved conductivity resulted in attractive cathode performance. An area-specific resistance as low as 0.21 Ω cm2 was achieved at 600 °C for the BSCF (70 vol.%) + LC (30 vol.%) composite cathode calcined at 950 °C for 5 h. Peak power densities as high as ∼700 mW cm−2 at 650 °C and ∼525 mW cm−2 at 600 °C were reached for the thin-film fuel cells with the optimized cathode composition and calcination temperatures.  相似文献

Li2FeSiO4/C cathodes were synthesized by combination of wet-process method and solid-state reaction at high temperature, and effects of roasting temperature and modification on properties of the Li2FeSiO4/C cathode were investigated. The XRD patterns of the Li2FeSiO4/C samples indicate that all the samples are of good crystallinity, and a little Fe3O4 impurity was observed in them. The primary particle size rises as the roasting temperature increases from 600 to 750 °C. The Li2FeSiO4/C sample synthesized at 650 °C has good electrochemical performances with an initial discharge capacity of 144.9 mAh g−1 and the discharge capacity remains 136.5 mAh g−1 after 10 cycles. The performance of Li2FeSiO4/C cathode is further improved by modification of Ni substitution. The Li2Fe0.9Ni0.1SiO4/C composite cathode has an initial discharge capacity of 160.1 mAh g−1, and the discharge capacity remains 153.9 mAh g−1 after 10 cycles. The diffusion coefficient of lithium in Li2FeSiO4/C is 1.38 × 10−12 cm2 s−1 while that in Li2Fe0.9Ni0.1SiO4/C reaches 3.34 × 10−12 cm2 s−1.  相似文献

A dense membrane of Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95 on a porous cathode based on a mixed conducting La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ was fabricated via a slurry coating/co-firing process. With the purpose of matching of shrinkage between the support cathode and the supported membrane, nano-Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95 powder with specific surface area of 30 m2 g−1 was synthesized by a newly devised coprecipitation to make the low-temperature sinterable electrolyte, whereas 39 m2 g−1 nano-Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95 prepared from citrate method was added to the cathode to favor the shrinkage for the La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3−δ. Bi-layers consisting of <20 μm dense ceria film on 2 mm thick porous cathode were successfully fabricated at 1200 °C. This was followed by co-firing with NiO–Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.95 at 1100 °C to form a thin, porous, and well-adherent anode. The laboratory-sized cathode-supported cell was shown to operate below 600 °C, and the maximum power density obtained was 35 mW cm−2 at 550 °C, 60 mW cm−2 at 600 °C.  相似文献

Ceria is proposed as an additive for La0.8Sr0.2MnO3 (LSM) cathodes in order to increase both their thermal stability and electrochemical properties after co-sintering with an yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) electrolyte at 1350 °C. Results show that LSM without CeO2 addition is unstable at 1350 °C, whereas the thermal stability of LSM is drastically improved after addition of CeO2. In addition, results show a correlation between CeO2 addition and the maximum power density obtained in 300 μm thick electrolyte-supported single cells in which the anode and modified cathode have been co-sintered at 1350 °C. Single cells with cathodes not containing CeO2 produce only 7 mW cm−2 at 800 °C, whereas the power density increases to 117 mW cm−2 for a CeO2 addition of 12 mol%. Preliminary results suggest that CeO2 could increase the power density by at least two mechanisms: (1) incorporation of cerium into the LSM crystal structure, and (2) by modification or reduction of La2Zr2O7 formation at high temperature. This approach permits the highest LSM-YSZ co-sintering temperature so far reported, providing power densities of hundreds of mW cm−2 without the need for a buffer layer between the LSM cathode and YSZ electrolyte. Therefore, this method simplifies the co-sintering of SOFC cells at high temperature and improves their electrochemical performance.  相似文献

The comparison of the rate capability of LiCr0.2Ni0.4Mn1.4O4 spinels synthesized by the sucrose aided combustion method at 900, 950 and 1000 °C is presented. XRD and TEM studies show that the spinel cubic structure remains unchanged on heating but the particle size is notably modified. Indeed, it increases from 695 nm at 900 °C to 1465 nm at 1000 °C. The electrochemical properties have been evaluated by galvanostatic cycling at 25 and 55 °C between 1 C and 60 C discharge rates. At both temperatures, all samples exhibit high working voltage (∼4.7 V), elevated capacity (∼140 mAh g−1) and high cyclability (capacity retention ∼99% after 50 cycles even at 55 °C). The samples also have huge rate capability. They retain more than 70% of their maximum capacity at the very fast rate of 60 C. The effect of the particle size on the rate capability at 25 and at 55 °C has been investigated. It was demonstrated that LiCr0.2Ni0.4Mn1.4O4 annealed at 900 °C, with the lowest particle size, has the best electrochemical performances. In fact, among the LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4-based cathodes, SAC900 exhibits the highest rate capability ever published. This spinel, able to deliver 31,000 W kg−1 at 25 °C and 27,500 W kg−1 at 55 °C is a really promising cathode for high-power Li-ion battery.  相似文献

A nanocrystalline Li4Ti5O12-TiO2 duplex phase has been synthesized by a simple basic molten salt process (BMSP) using an eutectic mixture of LiNO3-LiOH-Li2O2 at 400-500 °C. The microstructure and morphology of the Li4Ti5O12-TiO2 product are characterized by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The sample prepared by heat-treating at 300 °C for 3 h (S-1) reveals dense agglomerates of ultra-fine nanocrystalline Li4Ti5O12; with heat treatment at 400 °C for 3 h (S-2), there is a duplex crystallite size (fine < 10 nm, and coarse > 20 nm) of Li4Ti5O12-TiO2; at 500 °C for 3 h (S-3), a much coarser and less-dense distribution of lithium titanate (crystallite size ∼15-30 nm) is observed. According to the results of electrochemical testing, the S-2 sample shows initial discharge capacities of 193 mAh g−1 at 0.2 C, 168 mAh g−1 at 0.5 C, 146 mAh g−1 at 1 C, 135 mAh g−1 at 2 C, and 117 mAh g−1 at 5 C. After 100 cycles, the discharge capacity is 138 mAh g−1 at 1 C with a capacity retention of 95%. The S-2 sample yields the best electrochemical performance in terms of charge-discharge capacity and rate capability compared with other samples. Its superior electrochemical performance can be mainly attributed to the duplex crystallite structure, composed of fine (<10 nm) and coarse (>20) nm nanoparticles, where lithium ions can be stored within the grain boundary interfaces between the spinel Li4Ti5O12 and the anatase TiO2.  相似文献

Manganese oxide with high tap density was prepared by decomposition of spherical manganese carbonate, and then LiMn2O4 cathode materials were synthesized by solid-state reaction between the manganese oxide and lithium carbonate. Structure and properties of the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction, Brunauer–Emmer–Teller surface area analysis, scanning electron microscope and electrochemical measurements. With increase of the decomposition temperature from 350 °C to 900 °C, the tap density of the manganese oxide rises from 0.91 g cm−3 to 2.06 g cm−3. Compared with the LiMn2O4 cathode made from chemical manganese dioxide or electrolytic manganese dioxide, the LiMn2O4 made from manganese oxide of this work has a larger tap density (2.53 g cm−3), and better electrochemical performances with an initial discharge capacity of 117 mAh g−1, a capacity retention of 93.5% at the 15th cycle and an irreversible capacity loss of 2.24% after storage at room temperature for 28 days.  相似文献

Novel compressive Al2O3-based seals were developed and characterized under simulated intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC) environment. The seals were prepared by tape casting, mainly composed of fine Al2O3 powder with various contents of fine Al powder addition. The leakage rates were determined at 800 °C under 0.14–0.69 MPa compressive stresses, and the stabilities were evaluated at 750 °C under constant 0.35 MPa compressive stress. The leakage rates at 800 °C were in range of 0.2–0.01 sccm cm−1, decreasing with increasing the compressive stress and Al content; Al addition significantly improved the stability, the leakage rate with 20 wt% Al addition was as low as 0.025 sccm cm−1 at 800 °C under 0.35 MPa compressive stress with a gauge pressure of 6.9 kPa, and exhibited good stability at 750 °C. Single cell test also confirmed the effectiveness of the tape cast Al2O3-based seal for planar IT-SOFC applications.  相似文献

A novel polymer electrolyte based on triblock copolymer of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) with ionically active SiO2 inclusions has been designed. The electrolyte shows favorable features for ion migration such as low glass transition temperature and high concentration of amorphous phase. Combined with the effect of active SiO2, its ionic conductivity is about 8.0 × 10−5 S cm−1 at 30 °C, which exceeds that for the PEO-based systems. As applying them to cells with LiFePO4-type cathodes, a capacity of about 147.0 mAh g−1 is obtained at 60 °C, which is retained by more than 90% after 40 charge/discharge cycles. Moreover, about 100 mAh g−1 could still be delivered as temperature decreases to 30 °C.  相似文献

Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCF) perovskite was synthesized by the sol–gel process based on EDTA–citrate (EC) complexing method, nitric acid modified EC route (NEC) and nitric acid aided EDTA–citrate combustion process (NECC). A crystallite size of 27, 38 and 42 nm, respectively, was observed for the powders of NECC-BSCF, NEC-BSCF and EC-BSCF calcined at 1000 °C, suggesting the suppression effect of nitric acid on the crystallite size growth of BSCF. The smaller crystallite size of the powders resulted in the higher degree of sintering of the cathode. Oxygen permeation study of the corresponding membranes demonstrated that in the powder synthesis, nitric acid also had a noticeable detrimental effect on the oxygen surface exchange kinetics and on the oxygen bulk diffusion rate of the BSCF oxides. The effect of powder synthesis route on the bulk properties of the oxide was validated by the oxygen temperature-programmed desorption technique. On the whole, a decreasing cathode performance in the sequence of EC-BSCF, NEC-BSCF and NECC-BSCF was observed. A peak power density of 693 mW cm−2 was achieved for an anode-supported cell with an EC-BSCF cathode at 600 °C, which was significantly higher than that with an NEC-BSCF cathode (571 mW cm−2) or an NECC-BSCF cathode (543 mW cm−2) under similar operation conditions.  相似文献

This study presents the electrochemical performance of (Ba0.5Sr0.5)0.9Sm0.1Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSSCF) as a cathode material for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFC). AC-impedance analyses were carried on an electrolyte supported BSSCF/Sm0.2Ce0.8O1.9 (SDC)/Ag half-cell and a Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3−δ (BSCF)/SDC/Ag half-cell. In contrast to the BSCF cathode half-cell, the total resistance of the BSSCF cathode half-cell was lower, e.g., at 550 °C; the values for the BSSCF and BSCF were 1.54 and 2.33 Ω cm2, respectively. The cell performance measurements were conducted on a Ni-SDC anode supported single cell using a SDC thin film as electrolyte, and BSSCF layer as cathode. The maximum power densities were 681 mW cm−2 at 600 °C and 820 mW cm−2 at 650 °C.  相似文献

SrCe0.9Y0.1O3−δ (SCY10) powder with a pure perovskite phase is prepared by solid-state reaction method. NiO is dispersed uniformly in SCY10 powder to fabricate NiO-SCY10 anode substrate. The starting powder, the mixture of SrCO3, CeO2 and Y2O3, is deposited directly on the green substrate instead of SCY10 powder by spin coating. After co-firing at 1300 °C for 3 h, the starting powder reacts to form SCY10 top layer on the substrate. SEM micrographs show that the top layer is defect-free and adheres well with the anode substrate without any delamination. A single fuel cell is assembled with anode-supported SCY10 membrane as electrolyte membrane and Ag as cathode. The electrochemical property of the fuel cell is tested with hydrogen as fuel in the temperature range of 600-800 °C. The open circuit voltage (OCV) reaches 1.05 V at 800 °C, and the maximum power density is 50 mW cm−2, 155 mW cm−2, 200 mW cm−2 at 600 °C, 700 °C, 800 °C, respectively.  相似文献

LiV3O8, synthesized from V2O5 and LiOH, by heating of a suspension of V2O5 in a LiOH solution at a low-temperature (100-200 °C), exhibits a high discharge capacity and excellent cyclic stability at a high current density as a cathode material of lithium-ion battery. The charge-discharge curve shows a maximum discharge capacity of 228.6 mAh g−1 at a current density of 150 mA g−1 (0.5 C rate) and the 100 cycles discharge capacity remains 215 mAh g−1. X-ray diffraction indicates the low degree of crystallinity and expanding of inter-plane distance of the LiV3O8 phase, and scanning electronic microscopy reveals the formation of nano-domain structures in the products, which account for the enhanced electrochemical performance. In contrast, the LiV3O8 phase formed at a higher temperature (300 °C) consists of well-developed crystal phases, and coherently, results in a distinct reduction of discharge capacity with cycle numbers. Thus, an enhanced electrochemical performance has been achieved for LiV3O8 by the soft chemical method via a low-temperature heating process.  相似文献

LiCr2YNi0.5−YMn1.5−YO4 (0 < Y ≤ 0.2) spinels have been synthesized by a sucrose-aided combustion method. Two sets of Cr-doped samples have been obtained by heating the “as-prepared” samples at 700 and 900 °C for 1 h. X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetric data show that pure and single phase spinels with similar lattice parameter have been synthesized. The homogeneity and the sub-micrometric particle size of the spinels have been shown by SEM and TEM. The main effect of the temperature is to increase the particle size from ≈50 to ≈500 nm, on heating from 700 to 900 °C. The study of the influence of Cr-dopant content and thermal treatment on the electrochemical properties at 25 °C and at 55 °C has been carried out by galvanostatic cycling in Li-cells. The discharge capacity (≈130 mAh g−1) does not noticeably change with the synthesis conditions; but the cycling performances are strongly modified. Key factors that control the cycling performances have been determined. The most highlighted result is that spinels heated at 900 °C with Y ≤ 0.1 have very high capacity retention at 55 °C (>96% after 40 cycles, cyclability >99.9% by cycle) indicating that metal doping is a new approach to prepare 5 V LiNi0.5Mn1.5O5-based cathodes with excellent cycling performances at high temperature.  相似文献

The layered LiNi1/3Mn1/3Co1/3O2 materials with good crystalline are synthesized by a novel method of hydrothermal method followed by a short calcination process. The crystalline structure and morphology of the synthesized materials are characterized by XRD, SEM. Their electrochemical performances are evaluated by CV, EIS and galvonostatic charge/discharge tests. The material synthesized at 850 °C for 6 h shows the highest initial discharge capacity of 187.7 mAh g−1 at 20 mA g−1. And the capacity retention of 97.9% is maintained at the end of 40 cycles at 1.0 C. CV test reveals almost no shift of anodic and cathodic peaks after first cycle, which indicates good reversible deintercalation and intercalation of Li+ ions.  相似文献

In an effort to improve the performance of SUS 430 alloy as a metallic interconnect material, a low cost and Cr-free spinel coating of NiMn2O4 is prepared on SUS 430 alloy substrate by the sol-gel method and evaluated in terms of the microstructure, oxidation resistance and electrical conductivity. A oxide scale of 3-4 μm thick is formed during cyclic oxidation at 750 °C in air for 1000 h, consisting of an inner layer of doped Cr2O3 and an outer layer of doped NiMn2O4 and Mn2O3; and the growth of Cr2O3 and formation of MnCr2O4 are depressed. The oxidation kinetics obeys the parabolic law with a rate constant as low as 4.59 × 10−15 g2 cm−4 s−1. The area specific resistance at temperatures between 600 and 800 °C is in the range of 6 and 17 mΩ cm2. The above results indicate that NiMn2O4 is a promising coating material for metallic interconnects of the intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cells.  相似文献

Indium oxide (In2O3) coating on Pt, as an electrode of thin film lithium battery was carried out by using cathodic electrochemical synthesis in In2(SO4)3 aqueous solution and subsequently annealing at 400 °C. The coated specimens were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) for chemical bonding, X-ray diffraction (XRD) for crystal structure, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for surface morphology, cyclic voltammetry (CV) for electrochemical properties, and charging/discharging test for capacity variations. The In2O3 coating film composed of nano-sized particles about 40 nm revealing porous structure was used as the anode of a lithium battery. During discharging, six lithium ions were firstly reacted with In2O3 to form Li2O and In, and finally the Li4.33In phase was formed between 0.7 and 0.2 V, revealing the finer particles size about 15 nm. The reverse reaction was a removal of Li+ from Li4.33In phase at different oxidative potentials, and the rates of which were controlled by the thermodynamics state initially and diffusion rate finally. Therefore, the total capacity was increased with decreasing current density. However, the cell delivering a stable and reversible capacity of 195 mAh g−1 between 1.2 and 0.2 V at 50 μA cm−2 may provide a choice of negative electrode applied in thin film lithium batteries.  相似文献

Porous Co3O4 nanostructured thin films are electrodeposited by controlling the concentration of Co(NO3)2 aqueous solution on nickel sheets, and then sintered at 300 °C for 3 h. The as-prepared thin films are characterized by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrochemical measurements show that the highly porous Co3O4 thin film with the highest electrochemically active specific surface area (68.64 m2 g−1) yields the best electrochemical performance compared with another, less-porous film and with a non-porous film. The highest specific capacity (513 mAh g−1 after 50 cycles) is obtained from the thinnest film with Co3O4 loaded at rate of 0.05 mg cm−2. The present research demonstrates that electrode morphology is one of the crucial factors that affect the electrochemical properties of electrodes.  相似文献

A polyvinyl alcohol assisted combustion synthesis method was used to prepare Ce0.8Sm0.2O2−δ (SDC) powders for an intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC). The XRD results showed that this combustion synthesis route could yield phase-pure SDC powders at a relatively low calcination temperature. A thin SDC electrolyte film with thickness control was produced by a dry pressing method at a lower sintering temperature of 1250 °C. With Sm0.5Sr0.5Co3-SDC as the composite cathode, a single cell based on this thin SDC electrolyte was tested from 550 to 650 °C. The maximum power density of 936 mW cm−2 was achieved at 650 °C using humidified hydrogen as the fuel and stationary air as the oxidant.  相似文献

It was shown that by thermal nanocrystallization of a 90V2O5·10P2O5 glass one can obtain a novel nanomaterial exhibiting enhanced electronic conductivity. Using a combination of methods: DTA, SEM, XRD and impedance spectroscopy (IS), it was possible to find correlation between microstructure and electrical properties of the obtained material and to optimize conditions of its synthesis. The room temperature electronic conductivity of the nanocrystallized samples is σ25 = 2 × 10−3 S cm−1 and is by a factor of 25 higher than the conductivity of the as-received glass. The nanocrystallized material is thermally stable up to ca 400 °C, which is about 150 °C above the glass transition temperature of the original glass. Maximum electronic conductivity of the thermally treated samples reaches 2 × 10−1 S cm−1 at ca 400 °C. The activation energy for these samples (0.28 eV) are substantially lower than that found for the starting glass (0.34 eV). The experimental results were discussed in terms of a model proposed in this paper and based on a “core-shell” concept. The results obtained here can be important for the progress in the search of novel nanocrystalline cathode materials for applications in Li-ion batteries.  相似文献
