Nowadays, with the increase in the amount of power generation related to renewable energy resources, the need for energy storage and management is raised. In this regard, the hydrogen energy plays a critical role in the development of renewable technologies. In view of the above, advanced controller design is presented in this paper to effectively perform load frequency control of islanded fuel cell microgrid based on the wind turbine, photovoltaic, fuel cell, electrolyzer, battery energy storage systems, and residential and commercial loads. The controller design is based on the determination of the controller parameters that the fuel cell microgrid system will provide the desired dynamic properties. In the proposed controller design, virtual gain and phase margin testers are added to provide the desired dynamic properties. The controller's stable parameter plane is determined with the help of the stability boundary locus method, taking into account time delay, gain, and phase margin. First, the accuracy of the stable parameter plane determined for the proposed controller design is demonstrated by means of time domain and eigenvalue analyzes. Finally, in order to show the performance of the advanced controller design and the success of the fuel cell as a backup generator, analysis studies have been carried out using actual data of solar and wind, and appropriate changes of load in studied microgrid. 相似文献

Uses of layered alkali titanates (A2TinO2n+1; Na2Ti3O7, K2Ti4O9, and Cs2Ti5O11) for energy and environmental issues are summarized. Layered alkali titanates of various structural types and compositions are regarded as a class of nanostructured materials based on titanium oxide frameworks. If compared with commonly known titanium dioxides (anatase and rutile), materials design based on layered alkali titanates is quite versatile due to the unique structure (nanosheet) and morphological characters (anisotropic particle shape). Recent development of various synthetic methods (solid-state reaction, flux method, and hydrothermal reaction) for controlling the particle shape and size of layered alkali titanates are discussed. The ion exchange ability of layered alkali titanate is used for the collection of metal ions from water as well as a way of their functionalization. These possible materials design made layered alkali titanates promising for energy (including catalysis, photocatalysts, and battery) and environmental (metal ion concentration from aqueous environments) applications. 相似文献

We describe a methodology for the initial development of solar thermochemical reactors for converting concentrated solar energy into chemical fuels. It consists of determining the implications that the thermodynamics and kinetics of the chemical transformation have on the initial reactor design. The method is applied for a specific case study: the decomposition of iron oxide above 1875 K, as part of a two-step thermochemical cycle for producing hydrogen from water. We demonstrate that the chemistry of the reaction places important constraints on various engineering design aspects, and we present two reactor concepts that satisfy these constraints. This study addresses the initial steps necessary for the design and development of solar chemical reactors. 相似文献

Hydrogen in metal hydrides could be one of the promising energy storage mediums to address the intermittent nature of renewable energy. To convert the hydrogen energy to electricity, the storage system has to be coupled with a fuel cells system. Hence, it is important to design a hydrogen storage system that meets the operating requirements for a fuel cell system. In this work, the effects of partial substitution of both cerium and aluminum on the hydrogenation properties of La(0.65−x)CexCa1.03Mg1.32Ni(9−y)Aly alloys were investigated simultaneously using factorial design. Both Ce and Al additions greatly improved the reversibility of hydrogen storage capacity. However, the maximum hydrogen storage capacity and absorption kinetics can be reduced by the additions. As Ce and Al gave opposite effects on the absorption and desorption plateaus, they could be used to tune the properties of the alloys to the desired operating conditions for fuel cell applications. 相似文献

This investigation is concerned with the performance analysis of a conventional hybrid photovoltaic/thermal air heating collector. A simulation model is developed and various performance parameters are calculated for single-glass and double-glass configurations. Results are presented to show the effect of various design and operational parameters on the performance of a system. These results are useful for designing such systems more scientifically.
