The problem of light diffraction by a micro-optical diffractive element is investigated. The method of stationary phase is applied to obtain approximate values of the integrals in the Kirchhoff approximation. The accuracy of the asymptotic approximation is studied in detail. As an application, the obtained approximate formulas are used to solve a design problem of constructing a diffractive optical element with a desired intensity distribution.  相似文献

Techniques that recover images from diffraction data obtained using coherent short-wavelength light sources are currently under active development for applications in nanotechnology and structural biology. In this review, an outline of paraxial optics is provided in a form that is sufficiently general to incorporate the coherence properties and frequency structure of illumination sources used in diffractive imaging applications. The Fourier phase problem is formulated in the context of imaging algorithms that are designed to obtain uniquely-determined phase distributions from measurements of diffraction data. The properties of several iterative phase retrieval algorithms for both coherent and partially-coherent diffractive imaging applications are presented in a unified formalism, together with a brief discussion of a non-iterative technique. Approaches to diffractive imaging based on Fraunhofer and Fresnel diffraction configurations are compared. Applications are described utilising quasi-monochromatic third-generation synchrotron X-ray sources and polychromatic high-harmonic generation table-top soft X-ray sources. The review concludes with a consideration of proposed applications of diffractive imaging approaches to the determination of biomolecular structures from isolated molecules using fourth-generation X-ray free-electron laser sources.  相似文献

Pattern formation is one of the many applications of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) for display. Since DOEs have lightweight and slim nature compared to other optical devices, using them as image projection device in virtual keyboards is suggested. In this paper, we present an approach to designing elements that produce distinct intensity patterns, in the far field, for two wavelengths. These two patterns are images of bilingual virtual keyboard. To achieve this with DOEs is not simple, as they are inherently wavelength specific. Our technique is based on phase periodic characteristic of wavefront using iterative algorithm to design the phase profiles.  相似文献

A radially symmetric binary diffractive optical element to generate an optical bottle beam is designed, fabricated, and characterized. An optimal design method for multi-layer diffractive optical elements (MLDOEs) is put forward with consideration of antireflection coatings in actual applications of hybrid optical systems. Taking this method into account for optimal design, it can ensure 100% diffraction efficiency at the designed wavelengths and maximum polychromatic integral diffraction efficiency over the whole waveband. In addition, it can be obtained not only for mechanical durability of soft polymers improvements but increase antireflection coatings functions for hybrid optical systems. Finally, an example for optimal design algorithm process and simulation of MLDOEs used in visible waveband is presented. The results show that this optimal method perfects the MLDOEs design on the basic theory with great practicability for MLDOEs design.  相似文献

针对衍射光学元件(DOE)的离子束刻蚀工艺,结合掩模套刻过程实例,本文提出了刻蚀误差面形分布的概念.在标量衍射的夫琅和费原理上,进行了误差数值模拟分析及讨论.模拟分析和实验数据结果表明,误差的面形分布在DOE器件的衍射焦斑中心会产生一个明显的光强畸变毛刺亮点,严重破坏了靶场照明的均匀性.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we present experimental results on speckle noise suppression using a completely passive method. The passivity of the method is achieved owing to the absence of any mechanical, electronic, or other dynamic influences on the optical scheme elements. In the experiment, a multimode semiconductor 520?±?5-nm laser with a spectral bandwidth of 2?nm, static two-dimensional (2D) and 2?×?1D diffractive optical elements (DOEs), as well as multimode single-core optical fibre and multimode optical fibre bundle were used. The dependence of the speckle reduction efficiency as a function of the optical fibre type and optical fibre length was measured for different DOEs. A speckle contrast of 0.148 and speckle reduction coefficient of 2.38 were obtained for a 2.5-m-long multimode optical fibre bundle. The experimental results confirmed that it is possible to construct completely passive optical circuits with reduced speckle noises using static multimode optical fibres and diffraction optical elements.  相似文献

Single-photon frequency upconversion is an effective method of infrared single-photon detection and imaging by converting the long-wavelength photons to shorter wavelengths to match the detector’s spectral response. We realized few-photon level 2D infrared imaging with a coincidence frequency upconversion system in a bulk periodically poled lithium niobate crystal. Moreover, the infrared photons carrying orbital angular momentum were converted to the visible regime with high efficiency, while the orbital angular momentum of the photons was well conserved during the frequency upconversion process. The single-photon frequency upconversion method was also used for mid-infrared imaging at 3.39 µm with high efficiency and low noise.  相似文献

根据灰度掩模的制作理论,提出了由PP8000胶片输出仪、远心成像透镜组、平行准直He-Cd激光器构成的精缩投影曝光灰度掩模制作系统。通过灰度掩模平面不同位置处提供可变的透过率,经一次光刻后得到所需的衍射光学元件。该系统不仅可采用黑白胶片制作高分辨率灰度掩模板,还可根据彩色灰度等效理论,利用彩色等效胶片实现256灰度级的扩展细分,以进一步提高灰度掩模板制作的分辨率。对于16台阶灰度掩模,其分辨率可以从0~255扩展到0~1280灰度级。利用该系统给出了二元光栅精缩后的感光图片。  相似文献

Bragg-type gratings were prepared by irradiation inside a series of optical polymers with femtosecond laser pulses and the preparation conditions of the grating were examined. Repeated scanning irradiation with femtosecond laser pulses formed gratings due to refractive index changes inside polymers. Among the polymers examined in the present study, polymethylpentene (PMP) showed the highest diffraction efficiency, which was an order of magnitude higher than those of other optical polymers. The density of PMP was the lowest among the polymers evaluated in the present study, and the large volume contraction based on its low density was responsible for the larger refractive index change of PMP. Furthermore, we fabricated large-area diffractive optical elements (DOEs) in PMP measuring 15 × 25 mm2 by widening the scanning area.  相似文献

为研究位相型菲涅尔透镜台阶近似引起的衍射杂散光对衍射成像系统调制传递函数(MTF)的影响,本文运用波动光学仿真分析方法模拟光波的传播。通过有限个级次的衍射波面在系统像面上相干叠加,得到系统的点扩散函数(PSF);对其进行傅里叶变换,得到系统的MTF。以菲涅尔主镜口径为80 mm的衍射成像系统为样机,分析了衍射主镜台阶数目为二、四、八时,系统MTF与理论设计值的差异。结果表明,随着衍射主镜台阶数目的增加,衍射杂散光对系统MTF的影响减小;并且四台阶时,与设计值的偏差已经小于0.5%。最后结合几何光线追迹仿真分析,提出将衍射主镜加工成中心区域多台阶、边缘部分为二台阶的思路,降低了衍射杂散光的影响。  相似文献

提出了一种基于遗传算法的衍射光学元件优化设计方法;在衍射光学元件设计中遗传算法运行参数对遗传算法性能有一定的影响:采用较大的群体规模,遗传算法越容易获得最优解;交叉算子越大,遗传算法全局搜索能力越强;选择算子对遗传算法的影响不是太大;如果要进一步提高解的精度,可选取较大的终止代数。数值计算结果表明,用遗传算法优化设计的衍射光学元件,其误差小于 5.2%,衍射效率达到 91.2%。遗传算法很适合衍射光学元件的优化设计。  相似文献

This paper introduces a novel lensless full colour diffractive computational imaging system with a planar Multilevel Phase Mask (MPM) as a diffractive optical element (DOE). The novelty concerns: a methodology of MPM design for improved depth of focus (DoF); design of PSFs for RGB imaging and an inverse imaging algorithm with sparse colour image modelling simultaneous for all RGB channels. MPMs are step-wise invariant. The cubic wavefront coding (WFC) is incorporated in MPMs with optimization of number of levels and width of invariant steps. This design of MPM makes the system robust with respect to defocus (improves DoF) and diminish chromatic aberrations typical for DOEs. Broadband multichannel test-images are exploited for design and testing of the lensless system. We consider two alternative optical setups: Wavelength Multiplexing (WM) and Wavelength Division (WD). In WM, the light beam is broadband multichannel with light sources radiating all wavelengths simultaneously and a CMOS sensor is equipped with a Bayer colour filter array (CFA) for registration of spectral measurements. In this setup, a single MPM is designed for the broadband multichannel light beams. In WD, separate exposures of RGB channels are registered by a broadband grey-scale CCD sensor. Different MPMs are designed for each of the RGB channels. Simulation experiments demonstrate the essentially extended DoF of the designed lensless systems and the advanced accuracy and quality of imaging with respect to the corresponding WM and WD systems with refractive lenses. Due to robustness of the designed lensless system to chromatic aberrations, this advantage has a place even with respect to the lens-system.  相似文献

Graphene has many unique properties that make it an ideal material for fundamental studies as well as for potential applications. Here we review recent results on the Raman spectroscopy and imaging of graphene. We show that Raman spectroscopy and imaging can be used as a quick and unambiguous method to determine the number of graphene layers. The strong Raman signal of single layer graphene compared to graphite is explained by an interference enhancement model. We have also studied the effect of substrates, the top layer deposition, the annealing process, as well as folding (stacking order) on the physical and electronic properties of graphene. Finally, Raman spectroscopy of epitaxial graphene grown on a SiC substrate is presented and strong compressive strain on epitaxial graphene is observed. The results presented here are highly relevant to the application of graphene in nano-electronic devices and help in developing a better understanding of the physical and electronic properties of graphene. Abstract

We apply diffractive optical elements in problems of transformation of Bessel beams in a birefringent crystal. Using plane waves expansion we show a significant interference between the ordinary and extraordinary beams due to the energy transfer in the orthogonal transverse components in the nonparaxial mode. A comparative analysis of the merits and lack of diffractive and refractive axicons in problems of formation non-paraxial Bessel beams has shown the preferability of diffractive optics application in crystal optics. The transformation of uniformly polarised Bessel beams in the crystal of Iceland spar in the nonparaxial mode by application of a diffractive axicon is investigated numerically and experimentally.  相似文献

Diffractive optical elements (DOEs) are key components in the miniaturization of optical systems because of their planarity and extreme thinness. We demonstrate the fabrication of DOEs by use of gray-scale photolithography with a high-energy-beam sensitive glass photomask. We obtained DOE lenses with continuous phase profiles as small as 800 microm in diameter and 5.9 microm in the outermost grating pitch by selecting a suitable optical density for each height level and optimizing the process variables. Microlenses patterned with eight levels and replicated by UV embossing with the polymer master mold showed a diffraction efficiency of 81.5%, which was sufficiently high for the devices to be used as optical pickups. The effects of deviations in diffraction efficiency between the DOE height and profile design were analyzed.  相似文献

Crystals of BSO doped with Se in two different concentrations (BSO:Se(I) and BSO:Se(II)) were grown by the Czochralski method. It is established that doping with Se is accompanied with preferential absorption of Fe from the melt. According to the in-depth chemical analysis, it is assumed that the doping Se ions enter the tetrahedral positions by means of the substitution of 3Si4+ by (Se6+ + 2Fe3+) ions. The measured absorption spectrum of the low-concentration Se-doped crystal (BSO:Se(I)) confirms such a conclusion as the absorption coefficient is increased in a broad spectral interval (1.4-3.1 eV) - an effect typical for all Fe-doped Bi12SiO20 crystals. The polarized Raman spectra of BSO:SeI show that the doping-induced lattice distortions are small. The IR spectrum of the BSO:SeI crystal yields indications for local lowering of the symmetry of the Fe-occupied tetrahedral positions. Doping with Se at high concentration (BSO:Se(II)) leads to occasional second phase inclusions and to a downshift of practically all modes in the Raman spectrum by 2-5.5 cm−1. It is concluded that the doping with Se at high concentrations follows the same mechanism as that at low concentrations but the introduced lattice distortions are more significant, and lead to an enlargement of the unit cell while preserving the overall cubic symmetry.  相似文献

We report a dispersion-engineered As2Se3 chalcogenide glass rib waveguide structure for ultra broadband mid-infrared supercontinuum generation across molecular ‘fingerprint region’. The proposed rib waveguide structure offers non-linear coefficient as high as 18,250 W?1 km?1 at 2.5 μm. Supercontinuum spectrum spanning 2–15 μm, which not only covers the both atmospheric transparent windows (3–5 μm and 8–13 μm) in the mid-infrared domain but also covers the important molecular ‘fingerprint domain’, is obtained using only 4 mm-long rib waveguide structure. To the best of our knowledge, such broadband mid-infrared supercontinuum spectrum in As2Se3-based chalcogenide waveguide geometry is reported for the first time. The proposed design of rib waveguide has potential for robust, integrated and low-cost supercontinuum sources in various applications including frequency comb generation, chemical sensing, food quality control and early cancer diagnostics.  相似文献

We describe a new approach to suppress undesired diffraction orders in the signal area of a Fourier plane diffractive optical element (DOE). We implement this new approach for the DOE design by a two-stage iterative Fourier transform algorithm that incorporates an adaptive optimization of the signal-to-noise ratio and does not require the introduction of a dummy output area outside the field of view. A comparison among this approach and three other approaches are presented on the basis of numerical results from several sample diffraction patterns.  相似文献

The intrinsic ill-posed nature of the inverse problem in near infrared imaging makes the reconstruction of fine details of objects deeply embedded in turbid media challenging even for the large amounts of data provided by time-resolved cameras. In addition, most reconstruction algorithms for this type of measurements are only suitable for highly symmetric geometries and rely on a linear approximation to the diffusion equation since a numerical solution of the fully non-linear problem is computationally too expensive. In this paper, we will show that a problem of practical interest can be successfully addressed making efficient use of the totality of the information supplied by time-resolved cameras. We set aside the goal of achieving high spatial resolution for deep structures and focus on the reconstruction of complex arrangements of large regions. We show numerical results based on a combined approach of wavelength-normalized data and prior geometrical information, defining a fully parallelizable problem in arbitrary geometries for time-resolved measurements. Fast reconstructions are obtained using a diffusion approximation and Monte-Carlo simulations, parallelized in a multicore computer and a GPU respectively.  相似文献
