Based on a 00Cr11NbTi ferritic stainless steel plate produced by Baosteel,the plasma arc welding was performed without filler wire.The mechanical properties of the welded joints were tested,as a result,the transverse tensile strength of the welded joints decreased to a certain extent in comparison with that of the base metal,but the bending performance and plasticity of the welded joint were good. 相似文献

Using computer-assisted techniques, this study analyzes the mean contact area of the articular surface of the second tarsometatarsal joint. The articular contact area decreased proportionate to the displacement in both males and females, but it was consistently greater in males than in females for all simulated displacements. The reduction in the contact area was the highest with dorsolateral displacement compared with the lateral and dorsal displacements. Dorsolateral displacement of the second metatarsal of 3 mm led to 38.6% reduction in the contact area, compared with 33.1% and 20.2% reduction with lateral and dorsal displacements, respectively. This study shows that even minor degrees of displacement not apparent on plain radiographs lead to significant decrease in the contact area of the second tarsometatarsal joint. Careful evaluation of second tarsometatarsal injuries with computed tomography is recommended to detect minor degrees of displacement. 相似文献

Establishing the patient's clinical diagnosis depends on gathering as much information of the patient and his or her signs and symptoms as possible. This information can be gathered from history, physical and psychological examination, diagnostic analysis. It is also important to look upon pain as a disorder and to consider the relationship between pain and psychological factors. The differential diagnosis is constructed through a biopsychological model of illness rather than through a more traditional biomedical model of disease. To arrive at a consistently accurate clinical diagnosis in patients with TMJ and craniofacial pain, the technique of clinical diagnosis must be well defined, reliable and include examination of the head and the neck, cranial nerves and the stomatognathic system. The craniomandibular index provides a standardized examination of the stomatognathic system that has been tested on validity and reliability. This chapter focuses on the techniques of history taking clinical and psychological examination and diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular joint disorders and muscle pain. 相似文献

Anteroposterior X-ray views of both acromioclavicular (AC) joints with 10-kg weights held in each hand are the generally accepted procedure for diagnosis of Tossy I-III grades of AC joint separation. An analogous diagnosis can be made by standardized ultrasound examination. Ten individuals with Tossy-I, 11 with Tossy-II and 8 with Tossy-III instability were examined both radiographically and by B-mode ultrasound. The degree of AC joint separation was uniformly determined on the basis of a calculated index (AC Index = AC joint width of uninjured side/AC joint width of injured side). The mean AC Index for Tossy-I instability determined by ultrasound was 1.0; mean indices of 0.49 and 0.5 were determined for Tossy-II injury by ultrasound and X-ray, respectively, and of 0.21 and 0.2, respectively, for Tossy-III instability. Statistical analysis showed significant differences between the mean AC indices of all three groups (P < 0.0001). We conclude that the reliability of ultrasound examination of AC joint instability is equal to that of radiographic measurement. Standard X-rays of the shoulder remain mandatory only to exclude fracture. The indication for operative stabilization of the AC joint can be established on the basis of the grade of AC joint instability measured by the side-effect-free and cost-effective method of ultrasound examination (AC Index < 0.3 equivalent to Tossy-III instability). 相似文献

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of patellofemoral contact forces predicted from a planar model of the patella by comparison with experimentally determined in situ contact forces. Patellofemoral contact pressures and areas were measured experimentally in an animal preparation with pressure sensitive film. Patellar tendon forces and lines of action used as input to the model were measured in the intact joint of the same preparation. Predicted and measured contact forces at different joint loads were compared at three different joint angles using linear regression analysis. r2-coefficients ranged from 0.94 to 0.95, and the slopes of the regression lines ranged from 1.64 to 2.11 for the three joint angles. The high r2-coefficients for all comparisons indicate that both methods were able to quantify the relative changes in the cat patellofemoral contact forces under different loading conditions accurately. However, the consistent finding of slopes greater than 1.0 indicates that the measured contact forces were systematically larger than the corresponding predicted forces. Analysis of the possible sources for the observed discrepancies between predicted and measured contact forces suggested that the directly measured patellar tendon forces were the most likely candidate causing the systematic differences. The results of this study suggest that a relatively simple model of the patellofemoral joint appears to be valid to quantify joint contact forces if appropriate patellar tendon force values can be provided as input to the model. 相似文献

Etoposides block cell division by interfering with the action of topoisomerase II, leaving enzyme-DNA double-strand breaks. We found that certain components of the trimeric DNA-dependent protein kinase influence cell survival following etoposide damage. Interestingly, either Ku70- or Ku80-deficient cell lines, but not mutant cell lines of the DNA-PK catalytic sub-unit (DNA-PKcs), were found to be hypersensitive to the effects of etoposide VP16. Ku70- and Ku80-deficient cells can be complemented to an etoposide resistant phenotype by introducing wildtype Ku70 or Ku80 cDNAs. Mutational analysis of introduced Ku70 cDNAs into murine embryonic stem cells deleted for Ku70 (-/-) showed that mutants where heterodimerization and DNA binding functions of Ku were disrupted, also blocked the restoration of etoposide resistance. In contrast with the differential etoposide sensitivity of DNA-PK mutants, both Ku- and DNA-PKcs-deficient cell lines showed G2 ionizing radiation-induced delays, a cell cycle phase where topoisomerase II function is critical. Thus, the topoisomerase II cleaved complexes may be an example of DNA lesions requiring the Ku heterodimer, but not DNA-PK for DNA repair. 相似文献

Fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose and carbon-11-methionine evaluation of lymphadenopathy in sarcoidosis

Uptake of 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) and 11C-methionine (Met) in mediastinum and hilar lymph nodes was studied using PET in 31 patients with sarcoidosis. The aim of our study was to examine whether these different tracers play a differential role in clinical assessment of pulmonary involvement. METHODS: Fluorine-18-fluorodeoxyglucose and 11C-Met PET were administered on different days. The differential absorption ratio of these tracers was calculated for the region of interest with the highest level of activity. Clinical reassessment of sarcoidosis was made at least 1 yr after the first PET examination. In seven patients whose lymph nodes still remained visible by other imagings at the time of reevaluation, the same PET study was performed again. RESULTS: Both FDG and Met were accumulated in the lymph nodes in all but one patient. The FDG and Met uptake ratios in all patients were not correlated, but they could be divided into the FDG-dominant group (FDG/Met uptake ratio > or = 2) and the Met-dominant group (FDG/Met uptake ratio < 2). Within each group, the FDG and Met uptake values were correlated. The rate of improvement assessed by clinical status and chest radiographs was considerably higher in the FDG- (78%) than in the Met-dominant group (33%). In the seven patients of the repeated PET examination, their FDG/Met uptake ratios were generally unchanged after 1 yr. CONCLUSION: The results suggest that the FDG/Met uptake ratio using PET may reflect the differential granulomatous status in sarcoidosis and be a useful tool for pretreatment evaluation. 相似文献

Neutrophils contain various antibacterial polypeptides and proteins in the granules that contribute to the killing of microorganisms. Recently, we have purified a cationic antibacterial polypeptide of 11 kDa (CAP11) from guinea pig neutrophil granules. CAP11 is a homodimer of G1LRKKFRKTRKRIQKLGRKIGKTGRKVWKAWREYGQIPYPCRI43 joined with one disulfide bond. In this study, to understand the regulation of CAP11 expression, we isolated and analyzed cDNA encoding CAP11. Furthermore, we investigated the expression of CAP11 mRNA during neutrophil maturation and localization of CAP11 among neutrophil granule subsets. Sequence analysis of CAP11 cDNA isolated from guinea pig bone marrow cells using rapid amplification of cDNA ends technique indicated that CAP11 is synthesized as a precursor comprising 178 amino acid residues, which is composed of a signal peptide (N-terminal 29 residues), a propeptide (106 residues), and a C-terminal mature peptide (43 residues). Interestingly, the predicted CAP11 precursor displayed the characteristic features of cathelicidins, a novel protein family of antibacterial polypeptides with a conserved cathelin-like pro-region and a variable C-terminal antibacterial domain. Northern blot and Western blot analyses using neutrophils, macrophages, eosinophils, mononuclear cells, and bone marrow cells revealed that only neutrophils and bone marrow cells expressed CAP11 mRNA and contained CAP11, suggesting that expression of CAP11 is neutrophil lineage-specific. Furthermore, Northern blot analysis using bone marrow cells separated according to their maturation stages showed that CAP11 mRNA was predominantly expressed in the cells at later stages of neutrophil maturation. Consistent with this, in situ hybridization using CAP11-specific cRNA probe demonstrated that CAP11 mRNA was primarily expressed at metamyelocyte stage. In addition, extracellular release assay revealed that CAP11 was readily released from neutrophils accompanied with gelatinase by low concentrations of N-formyl-Met-Leu-Phe without release of specific and azurophil granule components, and CAP11 was found to be exclusively present in the fraction containing gelatinase granules, prepared by Percoll density gradient centrifugation. Together these observations indicate that CAP11 is a member of cathelicidin family and its mRNA is preferentially expressed at the later stage of neutrophil maturation (i.e. metamyelocyte stage). Human and experimental diabetes mellitus extensively alters lipid metabolism. The eSS is a rat strain that develops a spontaneous diabetes of slow evolution, resembling the non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus of young people. We report here disturbances in lipid metabolism of 5-month old eSS rats compared to age-matched alpha-controls. Normal plasmatic glucose levels were found in the fasted state, whereas a diabetic curve was evident for eSS rats after glucose load. Triglyceride content was elevated in plasma and in liver microsomal preparations of eSS animals, when compared to the controls. The diabetic strain revealed a significant fall in the amount of linoleic acid in liver and kidney microsomes and in erythrocyte membranes. In liver, an increase in 22:6 (n-3) was also noted. A depression in the content of linoleic acid as well as an enhancement of docosahexaenoic acid were detected in phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine fractions from liver microsomes of eSS rats. The fatty acid pattern of eSS rat testis showed a raise in the relative percentage of arachidonic and a decrease in 22:5 (n-6), 22:5 (n-3) and 22:6 (n-3) acids compared to their controls. Diabetic rats exhibited a significant increase in microsomal cholesterol content and cholesterol/phospholipid ratio in liver and testis. In the latter tissue, higher values of fluorescence anisotropy were also observed. The current observations indicate that in early stages of the diabetes onset, when eSS rats are still normoglycemic, severe alterations of lipid metabolism may contribute to the establishment and progression of the diabetic syndrome. 相似文献

The sympathomimetic drug phenylephrine recently has been labeled with 11C for use in PET studies of cardiac sympathetic innervation. Previous reports using isolated perfused rat heart models indicate that phenylephrine is metabolized by intraneuronal monoamine oxidase (MAO). This report compares the imaging characteristics, neuronal selectivity and kinetics of (-)-[11C]phenylephrine (PHEN) to the structurally similar but MAO-resistant analog (-)-[11C]-meta-hydroxyephedrine (HED), an established heart neuronal marker. METHODS: Fourteen healthy volunteers were studied with PET and PHEN. Ten had paired studies with HED; four of the 10 were scanned a second time with each tracer after oral administration of desipramine, a selective neuronal transport blocker. Hemodynamic and electrocardiographic responses were monitored. Blood levels of intact radiotracer and radiolabeled metabolites were determined from venous blood samples taken during the PET study. Myocardial retention indices for both tracers were calculated. RESULTS: No hemodynamic or electrocardiographic effects were observed with either tracer. PHEN showed reduced myocardial retention at 50 min compared to HED; however, image quality and uniformity of distribution were comparable. PHEN cleared from myocardium with a mean half-time of 59 +/- 5 min, while myocardial levels of HED remained constant. PHEN metabolites appeared in the blood approximately three times faster than HED metabolites. Desipramine pretreatment markedly reduced (> 60%) myocardial retention of both PHEN and HED. CONCLUSION: PHEN provides PET images of human heart comparable in quality and uniformity to HED. Like HED, PHEN localizes in the sympathetic nerves of the heart. However, the more rapid efflux of PHEN, that is likely mediated by MAO, may provide information on the functional status of cardiac sympathetic neurons unobtainable with HED. 相似文献

We examined the anatomy and measured the in situ force in ligaments at the acromioclavicular joint using a universal force-moment sensor. The in situ force in the coracoacromial, conoid, trapezoid, superior acromioclavicular capsular, and inferior acromioclavicular capsular ligaments of 10 fresh-frozen cadaveric shoulders was determined for a load of 70 N applied to the clavicle in anteroposterior and superoinferior directions. The lengths of the conoid and trapezoid ligaments were found to be 15.1 +/- 4.1 and 11.5 +/- 2.2 mm, respectively; the widths of the conoid and trapezoid ligaments were 10.7 +/- 1.5 and 11.0 +/- 2.8 mm, respectively. The in situ force of the trapezoid (42.9 +/- 15.4 N) was significantly greater than that for the other ligaments during posterior displacement. Otherwise, no statistically significant differences could be found between any of the in situ forces in each ligament during all other motions examined. During anterior displacement, the inferior acromioclavicular capsular ligament appeared to be the major restraint. The trapezoid ligament was the primary restraint during posterior displacement and provided 55.8% +/- 20.0% of the resisting force. Our results suggest that the coracoclavicular and other acromioclavicular joint capsular ligaments should be considered for reconstruction to restore normal joint function, especially in the anterior, posterior, and superior directions. 相似文献

Carbon nanocomposite (pyrolytic carbon ceramics) (CN) is obtained by the force of planar crystallization during methane pyrolysis in the presence of boron tetrachloride. A pyrolytic process of components makes it possible to fabricate a material with an isotropic fine-grain structure, crystallite sizes of 10–20 nm, and high physicomechanical properties. A nanocomposite finds a wide application in medicine wares for cardiology, orthopedics, stomatology, traumatology, etc. Its tribotechnical properties were investigated for its clinical use. Adult aphasics completed a sentence evaluation and revision task to test some aspects of their linguistic competence. Grammatical and ungrammatical sentences served as the stimuli. Ungrammatical sentences were characterized by violations of syntactic or semantic structure, or both. Aphasics evaluated correctly the grammaticality of most stimulus sentences. Incorrect evaluations were associated with sentences characterized by violations of syntactic structure. Aphasics' revisions of sentences that they judged to be ungrammatical were in the direction of appropriate grammatical structures. Omission of morphological endings was the most frequent sentence revision error. Aphasics' errors on both tasks could be accounted for by performance deficits such as inattentiveness to syntactic detail, auditory perceptual impairments, and inefficient lexical retrieval. These findings lend support to the argument that aphasia is best characterized as a performance rather than competence disruption. 相似文献
