自适应Web站点：挑战与机遇

1 引言万维网(World Wide Web)已经成为信息传播、交流与共享的主要媒体。在全球Web站点数目迅速增长的同时,各个Web站点的信息量及其复杂度也在迅速上升,包含成千上万个网页与超链接是很平常的。由于以下的因素,数据密集型Web站点的设计与管理也变得越来越困难:     

Web站点核心逻辑结构挖掘

已有Web结构挖掘研究主要是挖掘出站点的核心节点而非整个结构。为此,设计Web站点逻辑域核及其导入路径的模型,提出Web站点逻辑域核挖掘算法和逻辑域核导入路径挖掘算法。在4个大型Web站点上的实验结果表明,Web站点逻辑域核挖掘算法和导入路径挖掘算法均能够达到较高的精度和召回率。     

Web超链分析算法研究

The World Wide Web serves as a huge, widely distributed, global information service center, and expand-ing in a rapid speed. It is import to find the information the user need precisely and rapidly. In recent years, re-searchers discovery that rich and import information is contained among hyperlinks, and develop a lot of algorithm us-ing hyperlink to improve the quantity and relevance of the results which search engine returned. 基于Web挖掘的自适应站点优化设计

现有的静态Web站点结构不能满足人们准确地找到所需信息和享用个性化服务的要求。本文不但通过Web日志文件的挖掘,找出用户的频繁访问路径来改进Web站点结构,而且分析当前访问页面与后续候选推荐页面的内容相关性,形成经过内容裁剪的个性化页面来压缩Web页面内容。这样,用户可快速定位到频繁访问的后续页面位置,且页面内容大多是用户感兴趣的主题信息。在此基础上,提出了一个自适应站点模型AdaptiveSite,经过推荐质量分析,该模型具有较好的优化性能。

通过进一步发展Wen-Syan Li等人提出的Web站点逻辑域理论,该文提出Web站点逻辑域核模型及建立在其上的逻辑域挖掘算法。该算法通过对Web站点超链接的图结构进行运算,得到Web站点逻辑域。与Wen-Syan Li算法对比测试,结果表明在获得相同逻辑域个数的情况下,克服了其采用启发式方法所带来的效率问题。在对4个大型Web站点的单独测试中,平均能够达到85%的逻辑域挖掘精度。

The Best Web Sites in Psychology and Sociology

Abstract

The World Wide Web offers a large and ever-expanding number of resources in the fields of psychology and sociology. Growth of the Web has been so fast that it has been difficult to keep track of all the new resources that are rapidly becoming available. With so many new Web sites cropping up, there is a growing need to sort through these resources and determine which sites are the most valuable for research in these subject areas. This study first discusses some criteria for assessing the quality of Web sites, and then applies these criteria to the Web sites currently available in an effort to determine which sites are the best for these two fields.     

An Examination of Library World Wide Web Sites at Medium-Sized Universities

ABSTRACT

This article presents the results of a study of World Wide Web (Web) Sites for 133 academic libraries serving medium-sized universities. Each library Web site was examined, and all of the features were recorded. The study identified 31 core components which were present in over 50 percent of the libraries surveyed. The study indicated that: the navigational and design aspects of library Web sites should be improved; materials should be placed on the sites only if they will be accessed and utilized by the user community; and libraries could profit by making greater use of online tutorials and virtual tours to supplement regular bibliographic instruction.

About the Web

ABSTRACT

This article reviews selected magazines and journals of interest to academic librarians that include information about the Web. Reviewed titles include library science titles, general educational titles, and popular titles found on newsstands. The titles reviewed are aimed towards two groups of librarians: those most involved with developing content (such as reference librarians and bibliographers), and those involved with Web design, development, and policy issues.
