An indium tin oxide/titanium oxide/[6,6]-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester:regioregular poly(3-hexylthiophene)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxylenethiophene):poly(4-styrene sulfonic acid)/Au type organic solar cell (ITO/TiOx/PCBM:P3HT/PEDOT:PSS/Au) with 1 cm2 active area, which is called “inverted-type solar cell”, was developed using an ITO/amorphous titanium oxide (TiOx) electrode prepared by a sol-gel technique instead of a low functional electrode such as Al. The power conversion efficiency (η) of 2.47% was obtained by irradiating AM 1.5G-100 mW cm−2 simulated sunlight. We found that a photoconduction of TiOx by irradiating UV light containing slightly in the simulated sunlight was required to drive this solar cell. The device durability in an ambient atmosphere was maintained for more than 20 h under continuous light irradiation. Further, when the air-stable device was covered by a glass plate with a water getter sheet which was coated by an epoxy-UV resin as sealing material, the durability was still higher and over 96% of relative efficiency was observed even after continuous light irradiation for 120 h.  相似文献

An ultrathin iridium layer was treated with O2-plasma to form an iridium oxide (IrOx), employed as a hole extraction layer in order to replace poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene-sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) in organic photovoltaic (OPV) cells with poly(3-hexylthiophene):phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT:PCBM). The IrOx layer affects the self-organization of the P3HT:PCBM photo-active layer due to its hydrophobic nature, inducing a well-organized intraplane structure with lamellae oriented normal to the substrate. Synchrotron radiation photoelectron spectroscopy results showed that the work function increased by 0.57 eV as the Ir layer on ITO changed to IrOx by the O2-plasma treatment. The OPV cell with IrOx (2.0 nm) exhibits increased power conversion efficiency as high as 3.5% under 100 mW cm−2 illumination with an air mass (AM 1.5G) condition, higher than that of 3.3% with PEDOT:PSS.  相似文献

We report the efficiency enhancement of polymer solar cells by incorporating a silver nanodisks' self-assembled layer, which was grown on the indium tin oxide (ITO) surface by the electrostatic interaction between the silver particles and modified ITO. Polymer solar cells with a structure of ITO (with silver nanodisks)/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) (Clevious P VP AI 4083)/poly(3-hexylthiophene):[6,6]-phenyl-C61 butyric acid methyl ester (P3HT:PC61BM)/LiF/Al exhibited an open circuit voltage (VOC) of 0.61±0.01 V, short-circuit current density (JSC) of 9.24±0.09 mA/cm2, a fill factor (FF) of 0.60±0.01, and power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.46±0.07% under one sun of simulated air mass 1.5 global (AM1.5G) irradiation (100 mW/cm2). The PCE was increased from 2.72±0.08% of the devices without silver nanodisks to 3.46±0.07%, mainly from the improved photocurrent density as a result of the excited localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) induced by the silver nanodisks.  相似文献

Here, we developed the high efficient poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):[6,6]-phenyl C61-butyric acid butyl ester (PCBB):Ag nanoparticle hybrid photovoltaic cells by generating the silver nanoparticles in the bulk-heterojunction structures of P3HT:PCBB prior to the spin-coating process. Hybrid bulk-heterojunction solar cells with an ITO/(G)-PEDOT/P3HT:PCBB:Ag/Al was fabricated, which shows open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current density, and power conversion efficiency of 0.639 V, 12.29 mA/cm2, and 4.30% under AM1.5 irradiation (100 mW/cm2), respectively.  相似文献

Cathode materials Nd2 − xSrxNiO4 were prepared by the glycine-nitrate process and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), AC impendence spectroscopy and DC polarization method, respectively. The results show that no reaction occurred between the electrode and the CGO electrolyte at 1100 °C and the electrode formed good contact with the electrolyte after being sintered at 1000 °C for 4 h. The rate-limiting step for oxygen reduction reaction on Nd1.6Sr0.4NiO4 electrode changed with oxygen partial pressure and measurement temperature. The Nd1.6Sr0.4NiO4 electrode gave a polarization resistance of 0.93 Ω cm2 at 700 °C in air, which indicates that Nd2 − xSrxNiO4 electrode is a promising cathode material for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell (IT-SOFC).  相似文献

In this work, we study the effect of the transparent conducting oxide (TCO) and the polymer applied (MEH-PPV or P3HT) on the photovoltaic properties of TCO/TiO2/polymer/Ag bi-layer solar cells. The solar cells were analyzed under inert atmosphere conditions resembling an encapsulated or sealed device. We demonstrate that the substrate applied, ITO or FTO, modifies the crystalline structure of the TiO2: on an ITO substrate, TiO2 is present in its anatase phase, on an FTO, the rutile phase predominates. Devices fabricated on an FTO, where the rutile phase is present, show better stability under inert atmospheres than devices fabricated on an ITO, anatase phase. With respect to the polymer, devices based on MEH-PPV show higher Voc (as high as 1 V), while the application of P3HT results in lower Voc, but higher Jsc and longer device stability. These observations have been associated to (a), the crystalline structure of TiO2 and (b) to the form the polymer is bonded to the TiO2 surface. In-situ IPCE analyses of P3HT-based solar cells show a red shift on the peak corresponding to TiO2, which is not present on the MEH-PPV-based solar cells. The latter suggest that P3HT can be linked to the TiO2 though the S-end atom, which results in devices with lower Voc. All these observations are also valid for devices, where the bare TiO2 is replaced by an Nb-TiO2. The application of an Nb-TiO2 with rutile structure in these polymer/oxide solar cells is the reason for their higher stability under inert atmospheres. We conclude that the application of TiO2 in its rutile phase is beneficial for long-term stability devices. Moreover there is an interplay between low Voc and Jsc in devices applying P3HT, since power conversion efficiency can be partially canceled by their lower Voc in comparison with MEH-PPV. These findings are important for polymer/oxide solar cells, but also for organic solar cells, where a layer of semiconductor oxides are in direct contact with a polymer, like in an inverted or tandem organic solar cells.  相似文献

Nickel oxides on carbon nanotube electrodes (NiOx/CNT electrodes) are prepared by depositing Ni(OH)2 electrochemically onto carbon nanotube (CNT) film substrates with subsequent heating to 300 °C. Compared with the as deposited Ni(OH)2 on CNT film substrates (Ni(OH)2/CNT electrodes), the 300 °C heat treated electrode shows much high rate capability, which makes it suitable as an electrode in supercapacitor applications. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows that the pseudocapacitance of the NiOx/CNT electrodes in a 1 M KOH solution originates from redox reactions of NiOx/NiOxOH and Ni(OH)2/NiOOH. The 8.9 wt.% NiOx in the NiOx/CNT electrode shows a NiOx-normalized specific capacitance of 1701 F g−1 with excellent high rate capability due to the 3-dimensional nanoporous network structure with an extremely thin NiOx layer on the CNT film substrate. On the other hand, the 36.6 wt.% NiOx/CNT electrode has a maximum geometric and volumetric capacitance of 127 mF cm−2 and 254 F cc−1, respectively, with a specific capacitance of 671 F g−1, which is much lower than that of the 8.9% NiOx electrode. This decrease in specific capacitance of the high wt.% NiOx/CNT electrodes can be attributed to the dead volume of the oxides, high equivalent series resistance for a heavier deposit, and the ineffective ionic transportation caused by the destruction of the 3-dimensional network structure. Deconvolution analysis of the cyclic voltammograms reveals that the rate capability of the NiOx/CNT electrodes is adversely affected by the redox reaction of Ni(OH)2, while the adverse effects from the reaction of NiOx is insignificant.  相似文献

Efficient hybrid solar cells fabricated from TiO2, novel carboxylated polythiophene poly (3-thiophenemalonic acid) P3TMA as sensitizer as well as hole conductor and poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as hole transporter was described. UV-Vis absorption and morphology of the active layer were investigated. Device J/V characterizations with different P3HT layer thickness were measured and discussed. Efficiency improvements were observed in thinner P3HT layer thickness and with poly[3,4-(ethylenedioxy)-thiophene]:poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) as charge collection layer, and such device showed a short-circuit current density of 1.32 mA/cm2, an open-circuit voltage of 0.44 V, a fill factor of 0.43, and a energy conversion efficiency of 0.25% at A.M. 1.5 solar illumination (100 mW/cm2).  相似文献

We have fabricated P3HT/PCBM based bulk-heterojunction photovoltaic cells with P3HT layer as the hole transport layer and PCBM layer as the electron transport layer between electrode and blended P3HT/PCBM layer in order to widen the photon harvesting layer. Current density has increased by about 1 mA/cm2 by the insertion of P3HT layer and the resulting conversion efficiency has been improved by about 20%. We have also fabricated a centimeter-scale active area with an efficiency of ∼1%.  相似文献

We report performance improvement of organic (P3HT:PCBM) photovoltaic cell by introducing a solution-based WOx anode buffer layer, between the PH500 conducting polymer and the active layer. By introducing a solution-based WOx on PH500, the cell efficiency increases by 13% compared to that of the organic photovoltaic cell with only PH500. The organic cell exhibits JSC of 12.31 mA/cm2, VOC of 0.61 V, FF of 58.22%, and the power conversion efficiency of 4.35%. The improved cell performance is due to effective hole collection injected from electron donors (P3HT) in P3HT:PCBM active layer by forming WOx nanoparticle on the conducting anode.  相似文献

Efficient bulk-heterojunction (BHJ) (regioregular poly (3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT): (6, 6)-phenyl C61 butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)) solar cells were fabricated with molybdenum trioxide (MoO3) and copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) as buffer layers. The insertion of MoO3 layer was found to be critical to the device performance, effectively extracting holes to prevent the exciton quenching and reducing the interfacial resistance because of alignment of energy levels. The introduction of CuPc buffer layer was observed to be ameliorative for device performance, further enlarging the visible absorption spectra range of the devices. The effect of the MoO3 and CuPc layer thickness on device performance was studied. The optimized thickness was achieved when MoO3 layer was 12 nm and CuPc layer was 6 nm, resulting in optimized power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 3.76% under AM1.5G 100 mW/cm2 illumination.  相似文献

A new air-stable triarylamine-based amorphous polymer, TSP-T11, which consists of thiophene and triarylamine units, can be successfully utilized to fabricate bulk-heterojunction organic photovoltaics (OPVs) using PC60BM or PC70BM as acceptor materials. The highest level of performance of OPVs optimized at TSP-T11:PC70BM (weight ratios of 1:4) with thicknesses of 68 nm exhibited an open circuit voltage (Voc) of 0.75 V, a short circuit current (Jsc) of 8.03 mA cm−2, and a power-conversion efficiency (PCE) of 2.22% under simulated air mass 1.5 solar irradiation at 100 mW cm−2. Although TSP-T11 has a lower hole mobility (1.5×10−4 cm2 V−1 s−1) than P3HT, the use of amorphous film of TSP-T11 as a donor material for OPVs offers advantages over the use of polycrystalline film of P3HT in terms of its air-stability and pinhole-free homogeneous morphology.  相似文献

In this work, modified poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) was used as an anode in polymer photovoltaic devices (PVDs) based on poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT):[6,6]-phenyl-C60-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM). We synthesized poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene methanol) (PEDTM) with a transmittance of 87% (at 510 nm) and a conductivity of 700 S/cm. PEDTM was applied in photovoltaic devices as a hole transporting layer on indium-tin oxide (ITO) electrode as well as a direct anode layer. PVDs with PEDTM as hole transporting layers on ITO showed a very high short-circuit density of 14.87 mA/cm2 and power conversion efficiency of 2.67% under an illumination of AM 1.5 G (100 mW/cm2). In addition, we also fabricated ITO-free PVDs using PEDTM as an anode, which exhibited a performance of 0.61% with a result of Jsc of 4.48 mA/cm2, Voc of 0.51 V, and FF of 27%.  相似文献

We report the performance improvement of organic solar cell by addition of an n-type chemical doping layer in organic bulk heterojunction device. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of P3HT and PCBM-71 based polymer solar cells increases by adding a mixture of TCNQ (7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinodimethane) and LCV (Leucocrystal violet) between active layer and cathode electrode. The PCE of the cell increases by 14% compared to the control cell with Al-only cathode electrode. The device with an organic n-doped layer shows the JSC of 8.88 mA/cm2, VOC of 0.51 V, FF of 60.1%, and thus the PCE of 2.72% under AM1.5 illumination of 100 mW/cm2.  相似文献

Small molecule organic solar cell with an optimized hybrid planar-mixed molecular heterojunction (PM-HJ) structure of indium tin oxide (ITO)/ poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene): poly(styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT: PSS) doped with 4 wt% sorbitol/ pentacene (2 nm)/ copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) (10 nm)/ CuPc: C60 mixed (20 nm)/ fullerene (C60) (20 nm)/ bathocuproine (BCP) (10 nm)/Al was fabricated. PEDOT: PSS layer doped with 4 wt% sorbitol and pentacene layer were used as interlayers between the ITO anode and CuPc layer to help the hole transport. And then the short-circuit current (Jsc) of solar cell was enhanced by inserting both the PEDOT: PSS (4 wt% sorbitol) and the pentacene, resulting in a 400% enhancement in power conversion efficiency (PCE). The maximum PCE of 3.9% was obtained under 1sun standard AM1.5G solar illumination of 100 mW/cm2.  相似文献

Inverted tandem organic solar cells, consisting of two bulk heterojunction sub-cells with identical poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) and 1-(3-methoxycarbonyl)-propyl-1-phenyl-(6,6)C61 (PCBM) active layer and a MoO3/Ag/Al/Ca intermediate layer, have been presented and optimized. Indium tin oxide (ITO) modified by Ca acts as a cathode for electron collection and Ag is used as the anode for hole collection for the tandem device. A proper thickness of Ca (3 nm) forms a continuous layer, working as a cathode for the top sub-cell. MoO3 as the anode buffer layer prevents exciton quenching and charge loss at the anode side, which could result in increase in interfacial resistance. The variance of sub-cell thickness adjusts the optical field distribution in the entire device, facilitating light absorption and good current matching in both sub-cells. The optimal inverted tandem device achieves a maximum power conversion efficiency of 2.89% with a short-circuit current density of 4.19 mA/cm2, an open-circuit voltage of 1.17 V, and a fill factor of 59.0% under simulated 100 mW/cm2 (AM 1.5G) solar irradiation.  相似文献

The praseodymium nickelate oxide Pr2NiO4+δ, a mixed conducting oxide with the K2NiF4-type structure, was evaluated as cathode for low temperature solid oxide fuel cells (T = 873 K). The electrochemical performance of the cathode has been improved by optimization of the microstructure of the porous cathode combined with the use of a ceria barrier layer in between the cathode and zirconia electrolyte. Both low polarization and ohmic resistances were obtained using Pr2NiO4+δ-powders with a median particle size of 0.4 μm, and sintering the screen printed layer at a sintering temperature of about 1353 K for 1 h. These manufacturing conditions resulted in a cathode microstructure with well established connections between the cathode particles and good adhesion of the cathode on the electrolyte. Full-sized anode supported cells have been manufactured using the same process conditions for the Pr2NiO4+δ cathode and tested. The best results were obtained when using a dense Ce0.8Gd0.2O1.9 (20CGO) barrier layer. While a complete optimization of the cell preparation has not yet been achieved, the electrochemical performances of anode supported cells with Pr2NiO4+δ are higher than those with the well known state-of-the-art La0.6Sr0.4Fe0.8Co0.2O3−δ (LSFC) material.  相似文献

Herein we report for the first time to use multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) supported porous nickel oxide (NiOx) as non-precious electrocatalysts for oxidation of water at low overpotentials. The nickel oxide catalyst was facilely electrodeposited on MWCNTs in a 0.1 M KBi buffered solution at pH 9.2 containing 0.1 mM Ni2+ with an applied anodic potential. The current density of bulk electrolysis is 2.2 mA/cm2 at +1.1 V (vs Ag/AgCl) using NiOx-MWCNTs as the working electrode at pH 9.2, which is much higher than that in a system containing no MWCNTs. Tafel plot indicates that the present NiOx-MWCNTs catalyst requires the overpotential of only 200 mV to catalyze the water oxidation reaction at pH 9.2. The Faradaic efficiency of >95% has been achieved at +1.1 V. The highly porous character of the NiOx catalyst materials were further studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX).  相似文献

Cathodic materials Sm2−xSrxNiO4 (0.5 ≤ x ≤ 1.0) for an IT-SOFC (intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell) were prepared by the glycine-nitrate process and characterized by XRD, SEM, ac impedance spectroscopy and dc polarization measurements. The results showed that no reaction occurred between the Sm2−xSrxNiO4 electrode and the Ce0.9Gd0.1O1.9 (CGO) electrolyte at 1100 °C, and the electrode formed good contact with the electrolyte after sintering at 1000 °C for 2 h. The electrochemical properties of these cathode materials were studied using impedance spectroscopy at various temperatures and oxygen partial pressures. Sm1.0Sr1.0NiO4 exhibited the lowest cathodic overpotential. The area specific resistance (ASR) was 3.06 Ω cm2 at 700 °C in air.  相似文献

Inverted transparent polymer solar cells were fabricated by sequentially depositing several organic layers from fluids, on ITO/glass substrates. ITO was used as a cathode to collect electrons. The photovoltage of these diodes can be increased by up to 400 mV by inserting a buffer layer of polyethylene oxide between ITO and the active layers, which results in 4-fold enhancement of power conversion efficiency under the illumination of 100 mW/cm2 simulated AM1.5 solar light. The enhancement of Voc is consistent with the work function change between ITO and ITO/PEO measured by photoelectron spectroscopy. Solar cell production without vacuum processing may lower production costs.  相似文献
