LiNi0.33−xMn0.33Co0.33YxO2 materials are synthesized by Y3+ substitute of Ni2+ to improve the cycling performance and rate capability. The influence of the Y3+ doping on the structure and electrochemical properties are investigated by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and galvanostatic charge/discharge tests. LiNi0.33Mn0.33Co0.33O2 exhibits the capacity retentions of 89.9 and 87.8% at 2.0 and 4.0 C after 40 cycles, respectively. After doping, the capacity retentions of LiNi0.305Mn0.33Co0.33Y0.025O2 are increased to 97.2 and 95.9% at 2.0 and 4.0 C, respectively. The discharge capacity of LiNi0.305Mn0.33Co0.33Y0.025O2 at 5.0 C remains 75.7% of the discharge capacity at 0.2 C, while that of LiNi0.33Mn0.33Co0.33O2 is only 47.5%. EIS measurement indicates that LiNi0.305Mn0.33Co0.33Y0.025O2 electrode has the lower impedance value during cycling. It is considered that the higher capacity retention and superior rate capability of Y-doped samples can be ascribed to the reduced surface film resistance and charge transfer resistance of the electrode during cycling.  相似文献

LiNi1/3Co1/3−xMxMn1/3O2 (M = Fe and Al; x = 0, 1/20, 1/9 and 1/6) have been synthesized by firing the co-precipitates of metal hydroxides. The impacts of Fe and Al doping on the structure and electrochemical performances of LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 are compared by means of powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and galvanostatic charge/discharge test as cathode materials for lithium ion batteries. These materials keep the same layered structure as the LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 host. It is found that Fe- and Al-doped LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 show different characteristics in lattice parameter and cycling voltage plateau with increasing dopant dose. More interestingly, low Al doping (x < 1/20) improves the structural stability while Fe doping does not have such effect even at low Fe content.  相似文献

LiNi1−yCoyO2 (y=0.1, 0.3 and 0.5) were synthesized by solid state reaction method at 800 °C and 850 °C from LiOH·H2O, NiO and Co3O4 as starting materials. The electrochemical properties of the synthesized LiNi1−yCoyO2 were investigated. As the content of Co decreases, particle size decreases rapidly and particle size distribution gets more homogeneous. When the particle size is compared at the same composition, the particles synthesized at 850 °C are larger than those synthesized at 800 °C. LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 synthesized at 850 °C has the largest intercalated and deintercalated Li quantity Δx among LiNi1−yCoyO2 (y=0.1, 0.3 and 0.5). LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 synthesized at 850 °C has the largest first discharge capacity (178 mAh/g), followed by LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 (162 mAh/g) synthesized at 800 °C. LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 synthesized at 800 °C has discharge capacities of 162 and 125 mAh/g at n=1 and n=5, respectively.  相似文献

LiNi1−xCoxO2 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2) cathode materials were successfully synthesized by a rheological phase reaction method with calcination time of 0.5 h at 800 °C. All obtained powders are pure phase with α-NaFeO2 structure (R-3m space group). The samples deliver an initial discharge capacity of 182, 199 and 189 mAh g−1 (25 mA g−1, 4.35-3.0 V), respectively. The reaction mechanism was also discussed, which consists of a series of defect reactions. As a result of these defect reactions, the reaction of forming LiNi1−xCoxO2 takes place in high speed.  相似文献

Electrochemical and thermal properties of Co3(PO4)2- and AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode materials were compared. AlPO4-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 170.8 mAh g−1 and had a capacity retention (89.1% of its initial capacity) between 4.35 and 3.0 V after 60 cycles at 150 mA g−1. Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathodes exhibited an original specific capacity of 177.6 mAh g−1 and excellent capacity retention (91.8% of its initial capacity), which was attributed to a lithium-reactive Co3(PO4)2 coating. The Co3(PO4)2 coating material could react with LiOH and Li2CO3 impurities during annealing to form an olivine LixCoPO4 phase on the bulk surface, which minimized any side reactions with electrolytes and the dissolution of Ni4+ ions compared to the AlPO4-coated cathode. Differential scanning calorimetry results showed Co3(PO4)2-coated LiNi0.8Co0.2O2 cathode material had a much improved onset temperature of the oxygen evolution of about 218 °C, and a much lower amount of exothermic-heat release compared to the AlPO4-coated sample.  相似文献

The structure and electrochemical properties of LiNixMn2−xO4 cathode materials for lithium ion batteries were studied by the means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), cyclic voltammetry, and galvanostatic charge-discharge tests. The cathodes with different Ni contents (LiNixMn2−xO4, x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, and 0.5) were synthesized by a spray-drying method and showed a single-phase spinel structure without any impurity. The amount of Ni has a large effect on the electrochemical characteristics. Capacity values of different voltage ranges (4- and 5-V ranges) change obviously with amount of Ni-doped. Also, the total discharge capacities increase with the Ni content, and all of them have good cycle stability.  相似文献

Layered Li1+x(Ni0.3Co0.4Mn0.3)O2−δ (x = 0, 0.03 and 0.06) materials were synthesized through the different calcination times using the spray-dried precursor with the molar ratio of Li/Me = 1.25 (Me = transition metals). The physical and electrochemical properties of the lithium excess and the stoichiometric materials were examined using XRD, AAS, BET and galvanostatic electrochemical method. As results, the lithium excess Li1.06(Ni0.3Co0.4Mn0.3)O2−δ could show better electrochemical properties, such as discharge capacity, capacity retention and C rate ability, than those of the stoichiometric Li1.00(Ni0.3Co0.4Mn0.3)O2−δ. In this paper, the effect of excess lithium on the electrochemical properties of Li1+x(Ni0.3Co0.4Mn0.3)O2−δ materials will be discussed based on the experimental results of ex situ X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and galvanostatic intermittent titration technique (GITT)  相似文献

Cathode active materials with a composition of LiNi0.9Co0.1O2 were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method at 850 °C using Li2CO3, NiO or NiCO3, and CoCO3 or Co3O4, as the sources of Li, Ni, and Co, respectively. Electrochemical properties, structure, and microstructure of the synthesized LiNi0.9Co0.1O2 samples were analyzed. The curves of voltage vs. x in LixNi0.9Co0.1O2 for the first charge–discharge and the intercalated and deintercalated Li quantity Δx were studied. The destruction of unstable 3b sites and phase transitions were discussed from the first and second charge–discharge curves of voltage vs. x in LixNi0.9Co0.1O2. The LiNi0.9Co0.1O2 sample synthesized from Li2CO3, NiO, and Co3O4 had the largest first discharge capacity (151 mA h/g), with a discharge capacity deterioration rate of −0.8 mA h/g/cycle (that is, a discharge capacity increasing 0.8 mA h/g per cycle).  相似文献

In our previous work, 10 Wh-class (30650 type) lithium secondary batteries, which were fabricated with LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 positive electrodes and graphite-coke hybrid carbon negative electrodes, showed an excellent cycle performance of 2350 cycles at a 70% state of charge charge-discharge cycle test. However, this cycle performance is insufficient for dispersed energy storage systems, such as home use load leveling systems. In order to clarify the capacity fade factors of the cell, we focused our investigation on the ability discharge capacity of the positive and negative electrodes after 2350 cycles. Although the cell capacity deteriorated to 70% of its initial capacity after 2350 cycles, it was confirmed that the LiNi0.7Co0.3O2 positive electrode and graphite-coke hybrid negative electrode after 2350 cycles still have sufficient ability discharge capacity of 86 and 92% of their initial capacity, respectively. Accompanied by the result for a composition analysis of the positive electrode material by inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectroscopy and atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS), electrochemical active lithium decreased and the LixNi0.7Co0.3O2 positive electrode could be charged-discharged in a narrow range of between x=0.41 and 0.66 in the battery, although it had enough ability discharge capacity that can use between x=0.36 and 0.87. It is predicted that solid electrolyte interface formation by electrolyte decomposition on the carbon negative electrode during the charge-discharge cycle test is a main factor of the decrease of electrochemical active lithium.  相似文献

In this study, we have successfully coated the CeO2 nanoparticles (CeONPs) layer onto the surface of the Ni-rich layered LiNi0.7Co0.2Mn0.1O2 cathode materials by a wet chemical method, which can effectively improve the structural stability of electrode. The X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) are used to determine the structure, morphology, elemental composition and electronic state of pristine and surface modified LiNi0.7Co0.2Mn0.1O2. The electrochemical testing indicates that the 0.3?mol% CeO2-coated LiNi0.7Co0.2Mn0.1O2 demonstrates excellent cycling capability and rate performance, the discharge specific capacity is 161.7?mA?h?g?1 with the capacity retention of 86.42% after 100 cycles at a current rate of 0.5?C, compared to 135.7?mA?h?g?1 and 70.64% for bare LiNi0.7Co0.2Mn0.1O2, respectively. Even at 5?C, the discharge specific capacity is still up to 137.1?mA?h?g?1 with the capacity retention of 69.0%, while the NCM only delivers 95.5?mA?h?g?1 with the capacity retention of 46.6%. The outstanding electrochemical performance is assigned to the excellent oxidation capacity of CeO2 which can oxidize Ni2+ to Ni3+ and Mn3+ to Mn4+ with the result that suppress the occurrence of Li+/Ni2+ mixing and phase transmission. Furthermore, CeO2 coating layer can protect the structure to avoid the occurrence of side reaction. The CeO2-coated composite with enhanced structural stability, cycling capability and rate performance is a promising cathode material candidate for lithium-ion battery.  相似文献

A series of Ni substituted spinel LiNixMn2−xO4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5) have been synthesized to study the evolution of the local structure and their electrochemical properties. X-ray diffraction showed a few Ni cations moved to the 8a sites in heavily substituted LiNixMn2−xO4 (x ≥ 0.3). X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy confirmed Ni2+ cations were partially oxidized to Ni3+. The local structures of LiNixMn2−xO4 were studied by analyzing the and A1g Raman bands. The most compact [Mn(Ni)O6] octahedron with the highest bond energy of Mn(Ni)O was found for LiNi0.2Mn1.8O4, which showed a Mn(Ni)O average bond length of 1.790 Å, and a force constant of 2.966 N cm−1. Electrolyte decomposition during the electrochemical charging processes increased with Ni substitution. The discharge capacities at the 4.1 and 4.7 V plateaus obeyed the linear relationships with respect to the Ni substitution with the slopes of −1.9 and +1.9, which were smaller than the theoretical values of −2 and +2, respectively. The smaller slopes could be attributed to the electrochemical hysteresis and the presence of Ni3+ in the materials.  相似文献

Co1−xZnxFe2O4 (0.1≤x≤0.9) nanorods have been prepared by the thermal decomposition of the corresponding oxalate precursor, which was synthesized by the template-, surfactant-free solvothermal method. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). The obtained Co1−xZnxFe2O4 (0.1≤x≤0.9) nanorods were built by many nanoparticles with average sizes around 20 nm to form one-dimensional arrays. Vibrating sample magnetometry measurements show that the coercivity of the ferrite nanorods decreases with increasing Zn content, whereas the specific saturation magnetization initially increases and then decreases with the increase of Zn content. The maximum saturation magnetization value of the as-prepared sample (Co0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4) reaches 43.0 emu g−1.  相似文献

The electrocatalytic activity of Ru0.8Co0.2O2−x nanocrystals was studied using diffraction, microscopic and spectroscopic techniques to elucidate the role of particle shape and surface chemical composition in the electrocatalytic evolution of oxygen and chlorine. The prepared Ru0.8Co0.2O2−x samples are of the rutile structure, their chemical composition, however, differs. The samples with the smallest particle size compensate for the Co doping by oxygen deficiency. The materials featuring bigger particle size show tendency to compensate for the presence of cobalt by higher valency of Ru. Regardless of the particle size or actual surface composition of the Ru0.8Co0.2O2−x electrodes, the chlorine evolution precedes that of oxygen by ca. 100 mV. The Ru0.8Co0.2O2−x electrodes retain high affinity to oxygen evolution once the reaction becomes possible. This behavior can be ascribed to a stabilization of the six-valent ruthenium, which represents the major intermediate for the oxygen evolution process, at the electrode surface due to the presence of di-valent and tri-valent cobalt. This effect precludes the possible effects of the particle shape and crystal edge distribution.  相似文献

Layered LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials were synthesized at different sintering temperatures using spray-drying precursor with molar ratio of Li/Me = 1.04 (Me = transition metals). The influences of sintering temperature on crystal structure, morphology and electrochemical performance of LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 materials have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and charge-discharge test. As a result, material synthesized at 850 °C has excellent electrochemical performance, delivering an initial discharge capacity of 173.1 mAh g− 1 between 2.8 and 4.3 V at a current density of 16 mA g− 1 and exhibiting good cycling performance.  相似文献

The electrochemical properties of substituted LiNi0.5Mn1.5−xMxO4 spinels at high potential (>4 V vs Li+/Li) have been investigated for M = Ti and Ru, in order to determine the role of the tetravalent cation in such systems where nickel is a priori the only electroactive species. These systems are found to form extended solid solutions (up to x = 1.3 and x = 1.0 for Ti and Ru, respectively) that were characterized by X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy. Titanium substitution induces a drastic decrease in high potential electrochemical capacity, whereas the capacity is maintained and the kinetics are even improved in the presence of ruthenium. These results are completed by new results on the Li4−2xNi3xTi5−xO12 spinel system, which shows not any high potential activity in spite of the presence of up to 0.5 Ni2+ per spinel formula unit on the octahedral site. Taking into account previous data on LiNi0.5Ge1.5O4, we clearly show that even if the tetravalent cation does not participate in the overall redox reaction, electrochemical activity is only possible when nickel is surrounded by tetravalent cations able to accept a local variation of valence (Mn, Ru), whereas full-shell cations such as Ti4+ and Ge4+ block the necessary electron transfer pathways in the spinel oxide electrode.  相似文献

Synthesis, electrochemical, and structural properties of LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2 cathodes prepared by TiO2 nanoparticles coating on a Ni0.8Co0.15Al0.05(OH)2 precursor have been investigated by the variation of coating concentration and annealing temperature. TiO2-coated cathodes showed that Ti elements were distributed throughout the particles. Among the coated cathodes, the 0.6 wt% TiO2-coated cathode prepared by annealing at 750 °C for 20 h exhibited the highest reversible capacity of 176 mAh g−1 and capacity retention of 92% after 40 cycles at a rate of 1C (=190 mA g−1). On the other hand, an uncoated cathode showed a reversible first discharge capacity of 186 mAh g−1 and the same capacity retention value to the TiO2-coated sample at a 1C rate. However, under a 1C rate cycling at 60 °C for 30 cycles, the uncoated sample showed a reversible capacity of 40 mAh g−1, while a TiO2-coated one showed 71 mAh g−1. This significant improvement of the coated sample was due to the formation of a possible solid solution between TiO2 and LiNi0.8Co0.15Al0.05O2. This effect was more evident upon annealing the charged sample while increasing the annealing temperature, and at 400 °C, the coated one showed a more suppressed formation of the NiO phase from the spinel LiNi2O4 phase than the uncoated sample.  相似文献

In this work we have studied the multilayered polypyrrole/oxide composite electrode on glassy carbon having the structure GC/PPy/PPy(Ni0.3Co2.7O4)/PPy, in which the spinel oxide Ni0.3Co2.7O4 is known to be an electrocatalyst of the oxygen reduction reaction in alkaline medium. The successive GC/PPy, GC/PPy/PPy(Ni0.3Co2.7O4) and GC/PPy/PPy(Ni0.3Co2.7O4)/PPy parts of the electrode were examined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results indicate that the electronic structure of the PPy is independent of the thickness of the PPy used to prepare the electrodes. The XPS data also show that cobalt is present in both divalent and trivalent states. The PPy doping degree by Cl ions (in terms of the Cl/N) and the oxide/PPy mass ratio observed by XPS were 19 and 4.5%, respectively.  相似文献

Composite film electrodes containing mechanically mixed MnxCu1−xCo2O4 (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) particles, carbon black Vulcan XC72R and poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) (PVdF-HFP) were formed on the glassy carbon disk surface of a rotating ring-disk electrode (RRDE) and studied for the oxygen reduction and evolution reactions (ORR and OER, respectively) in 1 M KOH solution. The electrocatalytic activities for both reactions were observed to depend strongly on the Mn content in CuCo2O4. An opposite trend was observed for the apparent and intrinsic electrocatalytic activities for the ORR; the simultaneous presence of Cu and Mn was found to be detrimental to the intrinsic charge density, but beneficial to the geometric charge density with a maximum for Mn0.6Cu0.4Co2O4. The latter was characterized by the highest total number of electrons exchanged per O2 molecule, n, close to 4, greater k1 (4e process)/k2 (2e process) ratios, and by a unique and low Tafel slope (−41 mV dec−1). The results obtained for the OER showed that the intrinsic electrocatalytic activity is determined by the number of active sites (Co4+) electrochemically formed at the oxide surface prior to the OER, from Co3+ cations. The partial substitution of Cu by Mn in CuCo2O4 was found to decrease the OER activity.  相似文献
