An experiment was carried out to evaluate a sample of hydrocarbon-grown yeast as a protein source for replacement pullets and laying hens. It was designed as a 2 × 3 × 3 × 4 factorial experiment in which two egg-laying strains (Thornber 808 and 909) were given diets containing 0, 5 or 10% yeast during the starter (0–6 weeks) and grower (7–18 weeks) stages and 0, 5, 7.5 or 10% yeast during the laying stage (20–68 weeks). A total of 720 chicks of each strain were reared in 36 floor pens until 18 weeks of age, 432 of each strain were then transferred to individual layers' cages and food intake and egg production were recorded for 12, 4-week periods from 20 weeks of age. Birds given the 5 and 10% yeast diets were significantly lighter at 6 weeks of age and those given the 10% yeast diet between 7 and 18 weeks were significantly lighter at 18 weeks than birds given the respective control diets. Food conversion efficiency and mortality were not significantly affected by dietary treatment. None of the rearing and growing treatments significantly affected subsequent egg production. Light- and medium-hybrids given the layers' diet containing 10% yeast produced on average four and nine eggs, respectively, fewer than birds given any of the other diets. The inclusion of yeast in the diet reduced the food intake of the medium-hybrids by about 3% but did not affect the food intake of the lighthybrid. Food conversion efficiency was not significantly affected by any of the laying treatments. Medium-hybrids given the yeast-containing diets were significantly lighter at 68 weeks of age than birds of the same strain given the control diet. Since the layers' diets, formulated to be no more than adequate in protein and amino acid content, allowed a high level of production from the light-hybrid it is concluded that the hydrocarbon-grown yeast is no less adequate nutritionally than the proteins it replaced. The poorer performance of the medium-hybrid when given the yeastcontaining diets may have been caused by a strain difference in food preferences or in nutrient requirements.  相似文献

During two seasons, pot experiments in which increasing applications of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were given to wheat and oats produced grain with widely varying N contents. The total amino acid composition of the grain was mainly dependent on N content of grain. Phosphorus and potassium affected the amino acid composition of wheat and oat grain only indirectly through their effects on nitrogen concentration. In wheat increasing grain N% was accompanied by a decrease in the amount (as g per 16 g N) of lysine, threonine, methionine, cystine and an increase in glutamic acid, proline, phenylalanine, and serine contents. Lysine, methionine, and cystine in oats decreased with increasing grain N content, but arginine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and phenylalanine increased. Changes were less pronounced with oats than with wheat, and concentrations of most essential amino acids were higher in oats. When expressed as % dry matter all amino acids increased with increasing N concentration. Linear regression equations were calculated and significant correlations were found in both crops between concentrations of most amino acids and N content in grain. Some correlations between amino acids in the grain are also given. Correlations between amino acids and nitrogen within a variety were similar despite widely differing yields.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The use of antibiotic growth promoters in animal feeds is not approved for laying hens in many countries, and economically feasible biological measures which include probiotics are developed to improve hen performance. The present study investigated the effects of probiotics on hen performance for a 48‐week period and the cholesterol, total lipid and fatty acid composition of egg yolk at 24, 28 and 32 weeks of age. RESULTS: Egg weight of Lactobacillus culture (LC)‐fed hens was significantly (P < 0.05) greater than that of control hens throughout the laying period. From 20 to 44 weeks of age, LC‐fed hens produced a significantly (P < 0.05) lower percentage of small eggs and a higher percentage of large eggs, and from 45 to 68 weeks of age a significantly (P < 0.05) lower percentage of medium eggs and a higher percentage of large and extra‐large eggs than control hens. Significantly (P < 0.05) less cholesterol was found in egg yolks of hens fed LC at 24 and 28 weeks of age, but not at 32 weeks of age. The total lipid content and the fatty acid composition of egg yolks were similar between the treatments at 24, 28 and 32 weeks of age, except for stearic acid (C18 : 0), which was significantly reduced in the egg yolk of LC‐fed hens at 28–32 weeks of age. CONCLUSION: The greatest benefit of LC was in increasing egg weight and improving egg size by influencing a shift from small and medium to large and extra‐large eggs. Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) S22, grown in a greenhouse in K-deficient soil in pots, was given 40, 80 and 160 mg of N/kg of soil (as ammonium nitrate) and 0, 60, 120 and 240 mg of K/kg of soil (as potassium chloride). In grass grown without added K, increasing N fertiliser increased the concentrations of total N, non-protein-N, ammonium-N, nitrate-N, free amino acids, amides and amines. With adequate K fertiliser all these N fractions decreased. The percentage distribution of N in the free amino-acid pool varied with the amount of N and K given. Without K fertiliser, increasing N had no consistent effect on most amino acids and amides, although it decreased the percentages of alanine and ethanolamine. Increasing K had relatively little effect on the percentage distribution in grass given the two smaller amounts of N. However, in the grass given the largest amount of N, it increased the percentage of most amino acids, especially alanine and 4-amino-n-butyric acid, and decreased glutamine and asparagine. β-Alanine was found only in K-deficient plants. The effect of K in relation to N metabolism and the nutritive value of herbage is briefly discussed.  相似文献

Hens were fed five diets based on rapeseed/corn oils with or without addition of the marine microalgae, Nannochloropsis oculata. Colours of egg yolk, fatty acid profiles in phospholipid (PL) and triacylglycerol (TAG) fractions and carotenoid contents were analysed. The major effects on yolk fatty acid composition were observed in the PL fraction with changes in 18:2n − 6, 18:3n − 3, 20:4n − 6, 20:5n − 3 and 22:6n − 3. The highest amounts of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid were obtained from the diet containing 20% N. oculata, whereas the highest arachidonic acid content in yolk was from the corn oil diet. In addition, colour (a* value) and carotenoid content increased when N. oculata was included in the diet. Long chained fatty acids were almost exclusively present in the PL fraction of yolk. This study shows that fatty acid composition and carotenoid content of egg yolk are improved by addition of N. oculata in laying hen diet.  相似文献

为分析酿造酱油特征氨基酸组成及对氨基酸态氮的贡献,比较了3款不同类型样品中的游离氨基酸含量和氨基酸态氮组成。结果表明,酿造酱油中氨基酸种类丰富,无增鲜剂添加的样品中氨基酸分布均衡,外源谷氨酸的添加显著影响氨基酸态氮水平。无添加的特级酱油(1号)、有增鲜剂添加的特级酱油(2号)和无增鲜剂添加的三级酱油(3号)的氨基酸总量分别为3.875、6.041和2.341 g/100 m L,其中2号样品含量最高;但在排除谷氨酸后1号样品氨基酸总量为3.494 g/100 m L,比2号和3号样品高14.11%和65.91%。1号样品必需氨基酸总量最高为2.08 g/100 m L,比2号和3号样品高18.18%和85.71%;2号样品氨基酸态氮检测值最高为1.42g/100 m L,其中谷氨酸的贡献率高达40.14%;3号样品的氨基酸总量和氨基酸态氮值均最低。  相似文献

The developmental changes of carbohydrates, organic acids, amino acids and phenolic compounds in ‘Honeycrisp’ apple flesh were investigated using GC–MS and HPLC. A total of 12 carbohydrates, 8 organic acids, 20 amino acids, and 18 phenolic compounds were identified and quantified. Each metabolite showed characteristic changes during fruit development, but in general, concentrations of most sugars and sugar alcohols either increased or remained unchanged whereas concentrations of most organic acids, amino acids and phenolic compounds decreased with fruit development, indicating that most sugars and sugar alcohols are synthesised and/or accumulate at a faster or similar rate relative to fruit growth whereas organic acids, amino acids and phenolics are synthesised and/or accumulate at a slower rate relative to fruit growth. On a whole fruit basis, the content of most metabolites increased with fruit development. In the flesh of mature ‘Honeycrisp’ apple, fructose and sucrose and sorbitol are the major sugars and sugar alcohol; malic acid is the major organic acid; aspartic acid, asparagine, glutamic acid, proline, threonine and γ-aminobutyric acid are the major amino acids; and procyanidin B1, procyanidin B2, chlorogenic acid, catechin and epicatechin are the major phenolic compounds, respectively.  相似文献

The influence of an intralipid fatty emulsion on the absorbability of polyamine amino acid mixtures was studied during their administration through a tube into the duodenum of white rats. Polyamine was administered in a dose of 0.25 g of nominal protein, intralipid in a dose of 0.2 g of fat/g bw/day. It was found that polyamine administered into the small intestine was intensely absorbed during the first two hours which was evidence by an increased content of amino acids in the blood. Intralipid used simultaneously with polyamine intensified the absorption of the latter. Preliminary administration of intralipid promoted a more rapid polyamine absorption, especially of side branch chain amino acids. The results obtained have presented an experimental validation of using nitrous compounds after preliminary administration of fatty emulsions in enteral tube feeding.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of sources of supplemental fat on laying performance, egg quality, and fatty acid composition of egg yolk. RESULTS: Two hundreds Isa Brown layers were assigned randomly to be fed ad libitum a standard commercial layer feed (BD), basal diet plus 2% tallow (T), basal diet plus a mixture of 1% tallow and 1% flaxseed oil (MTFO), basal diet plus 2% sunflower oil (SO), or basal diet plus 2% flaxseed oil (FO), which were offered for 8 weeks. Each diet was given to five groups, each containing 10 hens. The feed efficiency and egg production were 2.78 and 53.51% for BD; 2.30 and 63.47% for T; 2.45 and 60.14% for MTFO; 2.29 and 64.30% for SO, and 2.62 and 61.18% for FO groups, respectively. Dietary fat supplementation affected the laying performance but had no significant effects on egg quality parameters. The fatty acid composition of egg yolk lipids were significantly affected by dietary fatty acid composition. The supplemental tallow increased palmitic fatty acid. The proportions of linoleic and arachidonic fatty acids in egg yolks for layers fed the SO diet were higher than in the BD group and those on diets containing other fats. Concentrations of oleic and omega‐3 fatty acids were the highest in layers fed the FO diet during the laying period. Ten popular species of both edible and medicinal Korean mushrooms were analysed for their free amino acids and disaccharides. The average total free amino acid concentration was 120.79 mg g−1 in edible mushrooms and 61.47 mg g−1 in medicinal mushrooms, respectively. The average total of free amino acids for all mushrooms, edible mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms was 91.13 mg g−1. Agaricus blazei (227.00 mg g−1) showed the highest concentration of total free amino acids; on the other hand, Inonotus obliquus (2.00 mg g−1) showed the lowest concentration among the 10 species of mushrooms. The average total carbohydrates concentration was 46.67 mg g−1 in the 10 species of mushrooms, where the edible mushrooms contained 66.68 mg g−1 and the medicinal mushrooms contained 26.65 mg g−1. The carbohydrates constituents of the 10 mushroom species were mainly mannose (36.23%), glucose (34.70%), and xylose (16.83%).  相似文献

BACKGROUND: The objective of this study was to determine the effects of dietary yeast autolysate on performance, egg traits, egg cholesterol content, egg yolk fatty acid composition, lipid oxidation of egg yolk, some blood parameters and humoral immune response of laying hens during a 16 week period. A total of 225 Hyline Brown laying hens, 22 weeks of age, were allocated equally to one control group and four treatment groups. Yeast autolysate (Saccharomyces cerevisiae, InteWall) was used at levels of 1, 2, 3 and 4 g kg?1 in the diets of the first, second, third and fourth treatment groups respectively. RESULTS: Dietary treatments did not significantly affect body weight, feed intake and egg traits. Yeast autolysate supplementation increased egg production (P < 0.001) and egg weight (P < 0.001) and improved feed efficiency (P < 0.05). Yeast autolysate at levels of 2, 3 and 4 g kg?1 decreased egg yolk cholesterol level as mg g?1 yolk (P < 0.01) and blood serum levels of cholesterol and triglyceride (P < 0.05) and increased antibody titres to sheep red blood cells (P < 0.01). Total saturated fatty acids and the ratio of saturated/unsaturated fatty acids increased (P < 0.01) and total monounsaturated fatty acids (P < 0.001) decreased with yeast autolysate supplementation. CONCLUSION: Dietary yeast autolysate at levels of 2, 3 and 4 g kg?1 had beneficial effects on performance, egg cholesterol content and humoral immune response. Three protein sources, casein, soya bean and rapeseed concentrates, were subjected to alkali treatment (0.2 M, 60° C) for 2 or 6 h. The impact of these treatments on protein digestibility and on release of amino acids, especially lysinoalanine, was evaluated by an in-vitro enzymic digestion method with simultaneous dialysis of digestion products. The impairment of digestibility was higher for casein and soya bean concentrate than for rapeseed concentrate. Whatever the amount of lysinoalanine produced in each protein, it was poorly released by proteolytic enzymes. The rate of release of other amino acids was reduced by the treatments, but to different levels for each protein. Arginine and lysine were particularly affected. As can be inferred from the release of the target amino acids, the hydrolytic capacity of chymotrypsin was not specifically impaired, in contrast to that of trypsin for casein and of elastase for all protein sources. This technique was useful to evaluate quickly the effects of processing on the digestibility of proteins.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: This aim of this study was to investigate the effects of supplementing laying hen diets with different n‐3 fatty acid sources (linseed oil, fish oil and microalgae) on egg quality and fatty acid profile. The addition of inorganic selenium (Se) and iodine (I) and their effects on egg characteristics and Se concentration were also evaluated. RESULTS: A significantly lower egg weight was found in the control group and in groups fed a diet containing fish oil or a diet containing microalgae plus Se and I. Yolks from all supplemented diet groups exhibited a significant reduction in n‐6 fatty acid content compared with the control group. The docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) content of yolks was higher (P < 0.01) in all supplemented diet groups. Selenium supplementation increased the Se concentration (P < 0.001) in eggs. CONCLUSION: The results of this study provide evidence that an improvement in egg weight and in the DHA content of yolks can be achieved by feeding hens a microalgae‐rich diet, which avoids the unpleasant flavours associated with fish oil supplementation.
