Input-to-state stability of switched systems and switching adaptive control   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In this paper we prove that a switched nonlinear system has several useful input-to-state stable (ISS)-type properties under average dwell-time switching signals if each constituent dynamical system is ISS. This extends available results for switched linear systems. We apply our result to stabilization of uncertain nonlinear systems via switching supervisory control, and show that the plant states can be kept bounded in the presence of bounded disturbances when the candidate controllers provide ISS properties with respect to the estimation errors. Detailed illustrative examples are included.  相似文献

This paper presents a novel impulsive system approach to input-to-state stability (ISS) analysis of networked control systems (NCSs) with time-varying sampling intervals and delays. This approach is based upon the new idea that an NCS can be viewed as an interconnected hybrid system composed of an impulsive subsystem and an input delay subsystem. A new type of time-varying discontinuous Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, which makes full use of the information on the piecewise-constant input and the bounds of the network delays, is introduced to analyze the ISS property of NCSs. Linear matrix inequality based sufficient conditions are derived for ISS of NCSs with respect to external disturbances. When applied to the approximate tracking problem for NCSs, the derived ISS result provides bounds on the steady-state tracking error. Numerical examples are provided to show the efficiency of the proposed approach.  相似文献

In this paper we will extend the input-to-state stability (ISS) framework to continuous-time discontinuous dynamical systems (DDS) adopting piecewise smooth ISS Lyapunov functions. The main motivation for investigating piecewise smooth ISS Lyapunov functions is the success of piecewise smooth Lyapunov functions in the stability analysis of hybrid systems. This paper proposes an extension of the well-known Filippov’s solution concept, that is appropriate for ‘open’ systems so as to allow interconnections of DDS. It is proven that the existence of a piecewise smooth ISS Lyapunov function for a DDS implies ISS. In addition, a (small gain) ISS interconnection theorem is derived for two DDS that both admit a piecewise smooth ISS Lyapunov function. This result is constructive in the sense that an explicit ISS Lyapunov function for the interconnected system is given. It is shown how these results can be applied to construct piecewise quadratic ISS Lyapunov functions for piecewise linear systems (including sliding motions) via linear matrix inequalities.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the robustness of state feedback stabilized semilinear systems subject to inhomogeneous perturbations in terms of input-to-state stability. We consider a general class of exponentially stabilizing feedback controls which covers sampled discrete feedbacks and discontinuous mappings as well as classical feedbacks and derive a necessary and sufficient condition for the corresponding closed-loop systems to be input-to-state stable with exponential decay and linear dependence on the perturbation. This condition is easy to check and admits a precise estimate for the constants involved in the input-to-state stability formulation. Applying this result to an optimal control based discrete feedback yields an equivalence between (open-loop) asymptotic null controllability and robust input-to-state (state feedback) stabilizability.  相似文献

Min-max model predictive control (MPC) is one of the control techniques capable of robustly stabilize uncertain nonlinear systems subject to constraints. In this paper we extend existing results on robust stability of min-max MPC to the case of systems with uncertainties which depend on the state and the input and not necessarily decaying, i.e. state and input dependent bounded uncertainties. This allows us to consider both plant uncertainties and external disturbances in a less conservative way.It is shown that the input-to-state practical stability (ISpS) notion is suitable to analyze the stability of worst-case based controllers. Thus, we provide Lyapunov-like sufficient conditions for ISpS. Based on this, it is proved that if the terminal cost is an ISpS-Lyapunov function then the optimal cost is also an ISpS-Lyapunov function for the system controlled by the min-max MPC and hence, the controlled system is ISpS. Moreover, we show that if the system controlled by the terminal control law locally admits certain stability margin, then the system controlled by the min-max MPC retains the stability margin in the feasibility region.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with analyzing input-to-state stability (ISS) and integral-ISS (iISS) for nonlinear impulsive systems with delays. Razumikhin-type theorems are established which guarantee ISS/iISS for delayed impulsive systems with external input affecting both the continuous dynamics and the discrete dynamics. It is shown that when the delayed continuous dynamics are ISS/iISS but the discrete dynamics governing the impulses are not, the ISS/iISS property of the impulsive system can be retained if the length of the impulsive interval is large enough. Conversely, when the delayed continuous dynamics are not ISS/iISS but the discrete dynamics governing the impulses are, the impulsive system can achieve ISS/iISS if the sum of the length of the impulsive interval and the time delay is small enough. In particular, when one of the delayed continuous dynamics and the discrete dynamics are ISS/iISS and the others are stable for the zero input, the impulsive system can keep ISS/iISS no matter how often the impulses occur. Our proposed results are evaluated using two illustrative examples to show their effectiveness.  相似文献

This paper investigates input-to-state stability (ISS) and integral input-to-state stability (iISS) of impulsive and switching hybrid systems with time-delay, using the method of multiple Lyapunov–Krasovskii functionals. It is shown that, even if all the subsystems governing the continuous dynamics, in the absence of impulses, are not ISS/iISS, impulses can successfully stabilize the system in the ISS/iISS sense, provided that there are no overly long intervals between impulses, i.e., the impulsive and switching signal satisfies a dwell-time upper bound condition. Moreover, these impulsive ISS/iISS stabilization results can be applied to systems with arbitrarily large time-delays. Conversely, in the case when all the subsystems governing the continuous dynamics are ISS/iISS in the absence of impulses, the ISS/iISS properties can be retained if the impulses and switching do not occur too frequently, i.e., the impulsive and switching signal satisfies a dwell-time lower bound condition. Several illustrative examples are presented, with their numerical simulations, to demonstrate the main results.  相似文献

In a recent paper Angeli and Efimov (2015), the notion of Input-to-State Stability (ISS) has been generalized for systems with decomposable invariant sets and evolving on Riemannian manifolds. In this work, we analyze the cascade interconnection of such ISS systems and we characterize the finest possible decomposition of its invariant set for three different scenarios: 1. the driving system exhibits multistability (convergence to fixed points only); 2. the driving system exhibits multi-almost periodicity (convergence to fixed points as well as periodic and almost-periodic orbits) and the driven system is assumed to be incremental ISS; 3. the driving system exhibits multiperiodicity (convergence to fixed points and periodic orbits) whereas the driven system is ISS in the sense of Angeli and Efimov (2015). Furthermore, we provide marginal results on the backward/forward asymptotic behavior of incremental ISS systems and on the response of a contractive system under asymptotically almost-periodic forcing. Three examples illustrate the potentiality of the proposed framework.  相似文献

In this paper we introduce a class of continuous-time hybrid dynamical systems called integral continuous-time hybrid automata (icHA) for which we propose an event-driven optimization-based control strategy. Events include both external actions applied to the system and changes of continuous dynamics (mode switches). The icHA formalism subsumes a number of hybrid dynamical systems with practical interest, e.g., linear hybrid automata. Different cost functions, including minimum-time and minimum-effort criteria, and constraints are examined in the event-driven optimal control formulation. This is translated into a finite-dimensional mixed-integer optimization problem, in which the event instants and the corresponding values of the control input are the optimization variables. As a consequence, the proposed approach has the advantage of automatically adjusting the attention of the controller to the frequency of event occurrence in the hybrid process. A receding horizon control scheme exploiting the event-based optimal control formulation is proposed as a feedback control strategy and proved to ensure either finite-time or asymptotic convergence of the closed-loop.  相似文献

MPC or model predictive control is representative of control methods which are able to handle inequality constraints. Closed-loop stability can therefore be ensured only locally in the presence of constraints of this type. However, if the system is neutrally stable, and if the constraints are imposed only on the input, global asymptotic stability can be obtained; until recently, use of infinite horizons was thought to be inevitable in this case. A globally stabilizing finite-horizon MPC has lately been suggested for neutrally stable continuous-time systems using a non-quadratic terminal cost which consists of cubic as well as quadratic functions of the state. The idea originates from the so-called small gain control, where the global stability is proven using a non-quadratic Lyapunov function. The newly developed finite-horizon MPC employs the same form of Lyapunov function as the terminal cost, thereby leading to global asymptotic stability. A discrete-time version of this finite-horizon MPC is presented here. Furthermore, it is proved that the closed-loop system resulting from the proposed MPC is ISS (Input-to-State Stable), provided that the external disturbance is sufficiently small. The proposed MPC algorithm is also coded using an SQP (Sequential Quadratic Programming) algorithm, and simulation results are given to show the effectiveness of the method.  相似文献

In this paper, a linear programming method is proposed to solve model predictive control for a class of hybrid systems. Firstly, using the (max, +) algebra, a typical subclass of hybrid systems called max-plus-linear (MPL) systems is obtained. And then, model predictive control (MPC) framework is extended to MPL systems. In general, the nonlinear optimization approach or extended linear complementarity problem (ELCP) were applied to solve the MPL-MPC optimization problem. A new optimization method based on canonical forms for max-min-plus-scaling (MMPS) functions (using the operations maximization, minimization, addition and scalar multiplication) with linear constraints on the inputs is presented. The proposed approach consists in solving several linear programming problems and is more efficient than nonlinear optimization. The validity of the algorithm is illustrated by an example.  相似文献

A new class of Lyapunov uniformly globally asymptotically stable (UGAS) protocols in networked control systems (NCS) is considered. It is shown that if the controller is designed without taking into account the network so that it yields input-to-state stability (ISS) with respect to external disturbances (not necessarily with respect to the error that will come from the network implementation), then the same controller will achieve semi-global practical ISS for the NCS when implemented via the network with a Lyapunov UGAS protocol. Moreover, the ISS gain is preserved. The adjustable parameter with respect to which semi-global practical ISS is achieved is the maximal allowable transfer interval (MATI) between transmission times.  相似文献

Hybrid Fuzzy Modelling for Model Predictive Control   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Model predictive control (MPC) has become an important area of research and is also an approach that has been successfully used in many industrial applications. In order to implement a MPC algorithm, a model of the process we are dealing with is needed. Due to the complex hybrid and nonlinear nature of many industrial processes, obtaining a suitable model is often a difficult task. In this paper a hybrid fuzzy modelling approach with a compact formulation is introduced. The hybrid system hierarchy is explained and the Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy formulation for the hybrid fuzzy modelling purposes is presented. An efficient method for identifying the hybrid fuzzy model is also proposed. A MPC algorithm suitable for systems with discrete inputs is treated. The benefits of the MPC algorithm employing the hybrid fuzzy model are verified on a batch-reactor simulation example: a comparison between the proposed modern intelligent (fuzzy) approach and a classic (linear) approach was made. It was established that the MPC algorithm employing the proposed hybrid fuzzy model clearly outperforms the approach where a hybrid linear model is used, which justifies the usability of the hybrid fuzzy model. The hybrid fuzzy formulation introduces a powerful model that can faithfully represent hybrid and nonlinear dynamics of systems met in industrial practice, therefore, this approach demonstrates a significant advantage for MPC resulting in a better control performance.  相似文献

Output-to-state stability (OSS) is a dual notion of input-to-state stability for dynamical systems. This paper presents Lyapunov and asymptotic characterizations of OSS for hybrid dynamical systems, emphasizing that a globally detectable (i.e. nonuniformly OSS) hybrid system admits a smooth OSS-Lyapunov function.  相似文献

In this work, we consider nonlinear systems with input constraints and uncertain variables, and develop a robust hybrid predictive control structure that provides a safety net for the implementation of any model predictive control (MPC) formulation, designed with or without taking uncertainty into account. The key idea is to use a Lyapunov-based bounded robust controller, for which an explicit characterization of the region of robust closed-loop stability can be obtained, to provide a stability region within which any available MPC formulation can be implemented. This is achieved by devising a set of switching laws that orchestrate switching between MPC and the bounded robust controller in a way that exploits the performance of MPC whenever possible, while using the bounded controller as a fall-back controller that can be switched in at any time to maintain robust closed-loop stability in the event that the predictive controller fails to yield a control move (due, e.g., to computational difficulties in the optimization or infeasibility) or leads to instability (due, e.g., to inappropriate penalties and/or horizon length in the objective function). The implementation and efficacy of the robust hybrid predictive control structure are demonstrated through simulations using a chemical process example.  相似文献

Input-to-state stability (ISS) of a parameterized family of discrete-time time-varying nonlinear systems is investigated. A converse Lyapunov theorem for such systems is developed. We consider parameterized families of discrete-time systems and concentrate on a semiglobal practical type of stability that naturally arises when an approximate discrete-time model is used to design a controller for a sampled-data system. An application of our main result to time-varying periodic systems is presented, and this is used to solve a robust stabilization problem, namely to design a control law for systems in power form yielding semiglobal practical ISS (SP-ISS).  相似文献

We consider a class of nonlinear control systems for which stabilizing feedbacks and corresponding Lyapunov functions for the closed-loop systems are available. In the presence of feedback delays and actuator errors, we explicitly construct input-to-state stability (ISS) Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals for the resulting feedback delayed dynamics, in terms of the available Lyapunov functions for the original undelayed dynamics, which establishes that the closed-loop systems are input-to-state stable (ISS) with respect to actuator errors. We illustrate our results using a generalized system from identification theory and other examples.  相似文献

In this note we show that robustness with respect to additive disturbances implies robustness with respect to state measurement errors and additive disturbances for a class of discrete-time closed-loop nonlinear systems. The main result is formulated in terms of input-to-state stability and includes the possible presence of input and state constraints. Moreover, the state feedback controllers are allowed to be discontinuous and set-valued and thus the result also applies to model predictive control laws.  相似文献
