In this paper, we present an approach toward pedestrian detection and tracking from infrared imagery using joint shape and appearance cues. A layered representation is first introduced and a generalized expectation-maximization (EM) algorithm is developed to separate infrared images into background (still) and foreground (moving) layers regardless of camera panning. In the two-pass scheme of detecting pedestrians from the foreground layer: shape cue is first used to eliminate non-pedestrian moving objects and then appearance cue helps to locate the exact position of pedestrians. Templates with varying sizes are sequentially applied to detect pedestrians at multiple scales to accommodate different camera distances. To facilitate the task of pedestrian tracking, we formulate the problem of shot segmentation and present a graph matching-based tracking algorithm that jointly exploits the shape, appearance and distance information. Experimental results with both OSU Infrared Image Database and WVU Infrared Video Database are reported to demonstrate the accuracy and robustness of our algorithm.  相似文献

Pedestrian tracking by fusion of thermal-visible surveillance videos   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
In this paper we introduce a system to track pedestrians using a combined input from RGB and thermal cameras. Two major contributions are presented here. First is the novel probabilistic model of the scene background where each pixel is represented as a multi-modal distribution with the changing number of modalities for both color and thermal input. We demonstrate how to eliminate the influence of shadows with this type of fusion. Second, based on our background model we introduce a pedestrian tracker designed as a particle filter. We further develop a number of informed reversible transformations to sample the model probability space in order to maximize our model posterior probability. The novelty of our tracking approach also comes from a way we formulate observation likelihoods to account for 3D locations of the bodies with respect to the camera and occlusions by other tracked human bodies as well as static objects. The results of tracking on color and thermal sequences demonstrate that our algorithm is robust to illumination noise and performs well in the outdoor environments.  相似文献

We present a method for capturing the skeletal motions of humans using a sparse set of potentially moving cameras in an uncontrolled environment. Our approach is able to track multiple people even in front of cluttered and non‐static backgrounds, and unsynchronized cameras with varying image quality and frame rate. We completely rely on optical information and do not make use of additional sensor information (e.g. depth images or inertial sensors). Our algorithm simultaneously reconstructs the skeletal pose parameters of multiple performers and the motion of each camera. This is facilitated by a new energy functional that captures the alignment of the model and the camera positions with the input videos in an analytic way. The approach can be adopted in many practical applications to replace the complex and expensive motion capture studios with few consumer‐grade cameras even in uncontrolled outdoor scenes. We demonstrate this based on challenging multi‐view video sequences that are captured with unsynchronized and moving (e.g. mobile‐phone or GoPro) cameras.  相似文献

为解决移动机器人在复杂环境下进行自主跟随的问题,提出一种基于深度相机的自主跟随方法。搭建一个载有深度相机的全向移动平台;通过提取图像中的方向梯度直方图来检测行人,利用社会力模型预测行人的运动状态,结合分段颜色直方图信息提出一种行人模型来识别行人;利用人工势场法进行路径规划,完成自主跟随任务。实验结果表明,应用该方法移动机器人,在有行人干扰或距离行人较近的复杂环境下能够顺利的完成跟随任务。  相似文献

无人机机载相机图像中机动目标尺寸较小而且会发生显著变化,加上大量的背景噪声干扰,给目标探测和跟踪带来很大困难.针对这些问题,本文提出了一种在无人机机载相机图像序列中自主探测与跟踪多个机动目标的方法.首先,提取目标的图像数字特征并采用级联分类算法进行特征分类,得到目标的强分类器,对目标进行自主探测搜索.然后,基于全局最优关联算法对探测回波进行关联滤波,实现对多个机动目标的跟踪与识别,其中最优关联代价矩阵融合了距离和方向信息,提高了关联和跟踪的鲁棒性.将无人机航拍图像序列中的地面坦克作为目标进行实验,结果表明本文算法可以实现对多个机动目标的自主探测和跟踪,并具有较好的跟踪鲁棒性.  相似文献

运动目标跟踪技术是未知环境下移动机器人研究领域的一个重要研究方向。该文提出了一种基于主动视觉和超声信息的移动机器人运动目标跟踪设计方法,利用一台SONY EV-D31彩色摄像机、自主研制的摄像机控制模块、图像采集与处理单元等构建了主动视觉系统。移动机器人采用了基于行为的分布式控制体系结构,利用主动视觉锁定运动目标,通过超声系统感知外部环境信息,能在未知的、动态的、非结构化复杂环境中可靠地跟踪运动目标。实验表明机器人具有较高的鲁棒性,运动目标跟踪系统运行可靠。  相似文献

提出了一个基于视觉的分布式监控系统。该系统通过将多个摄像机单元组织成一个局域网来监视多个特定的区域,实时获取并处理彩色图像序列。当有特定的异常物体如行人、车辆等进入监视区域后能够向用户发出警报,而且能够将从多个摄像机单元获取的数据进行融合得到一个一致的决定。每个摄像机单元利用基于高斯混合模型的背景减除法对异常物体进行检测,并用卡尔曼滤波器进行跟踪。系统在实验室的局域网内进行了实验,显示了良好的性能。  相似文献

This paper describes how image sequences taken by a moving video camera may be processed to detect and track moving objects against a moving background in real-time. The motion segmentation and shape tracking system is known as a scene segmenter establishing tracking, version 2 (ASSET-2). Motion is found by tracking image features, and segmentation is based on first-order (i.e. six-parameter) flow fields. Shape tracking is performed using two-dimensional radial map representations. The system runs in real-time, and is accurate and reliable. It requires no camera calibration and no knowledge of the camera's motion.  相似文献

Occlusion and lack of visibility in crowded and cluttered scenes make it difficult to track individual people correctly and consistently, particularly in a single view. We present a multi-view approach to solving this problem. In our approach we neither detect nor track objects from any single camera or camera pair; rather evidence is gathered from all the cameras into a synergistic framework and detection and tracking results are propagated back to each view. Unlike other multi-view approaches that require fully calibrated views our approach is purely image-based and uses only 2D constructs. To this end we develop a planar homographic occupancy constraint that fuses foreground likelihood information from multiple views, to resolve occlusions and localize people on a reference scene plane. For greater robustness this process is extended to multiple planes parallel to the reference plane in the framework of plane to plane homologies. Our fusion methodology also models scene clutter using the Schmieder and Weathersby clutter measure, which acts as a confidence prior, to assign higher fusion weight to views with lesser clutter. Detection and tracking are performed simultaneously by graph cuts segmentation of tracks in the space-time occupancy likelihood data. Experimental results with detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis, are demonstrated in challenging multi-view, crowded scenes.  相似文献

Augmented desk interfaces and other virtual reality systems depend on accurate, real-time hand and fingertip tracking for seamless integration between real objects and associated digital information. We introduce a method for discerning fingertip locations in image frames and measuring fingertip trajectories across image frames. We also propose a mechanism for combining direct manipulation and symbolic gestures based on multiple fingertip motions. Our method uses a filtering technique, in addition to detecting fingertips in each image frame, to predict fingertip locations in successive image frames and to examine the correspondences between the predicted locations and detected fingertips. This lets us obtain multiple complex fingertip trajectories in real time and improves fingertip tracking. This method can track multiple fingertips reliably even on a complex background under changing lighting conditions without invasive devices or color markers.  相似文献

Based on the low-resolution geostationary optical satellite for maritime surveillance, a complete processing algorithm including ship detection and ship tracking is proposed. Potentially ships are first detected by a constant false alarm rate processing and a morphological filter from the area of water. Image coordinates of ships are then corrected and transformed by using rational polynomial coefficients and high-resolution shoreline database. In the ship-tracking procedure, a convenient motion model based on geographical coordinates is established, and the multiple hypothesis tracking method is used to track ships for further removing false targets and getting motion states of targets ultimately. Our algorithm has been tested using GaoFen-4 (GF-4) satellite image sequences and the automatic identification system messages of ships. The results of the experiment show that the proposed algorithm can effectively detect and track ships in complex scenes and estimate ships’ motion information accurately with the help of a low-resolution geostationary optical satellite.  相似文献

An automatic egomotion compensation based point correspondence algorithm is presented. A basic problem in autonomous navigation and motion estimation is automatically detecting and tracking features in consecutive frames, a challenging problem when camera motion is significant. In general, feature displacements between consecutive frames can be approximately decomposed into two components: (i) displacements due to camera motion which can be approximately compensated by image rotation, scaling, and translation; (ii) displacements due to object motion and/or perspective projection. In this paper, we introduce a two-step approach: First, the motion of the camera is compensated using a computational vision based image registration algorithm. Then consecutive frames are transformed to the same coordinate system and the feature correspondence problem is solved as though tracking moving objects for a stationary camera. Methods of subpixel accuracy feature matching, tracking and error analysis are introduced. The approach results in a robust and efficient algorithm. 针对彩色视频序列图像的人脸检测,提出了一种基于肤色的人脸跟踪方法。该方法首先在Hsu提出的肤色模型基础上,采样一种自肤色分割算法来提取复杂背景下人脸的肤色特征,与传统的采用固定肤色模型的检测算法相比,该方法具有更好的检测效果;然后,在人脸跟踪过程中采用Condensation滤波跟踪算法,并对算法做了两点改进,即在跟踪过程中采用基于Metropolis算法的重采样方法以及自适应的动态模型,实现了复杂背景下的人脸自由运动的跟踪,并从各种影片中截取了彩色视频序列图像进行了测试实验。实验结果表明,该方法有效地解决了复杂背景下人脸自由运动、光照变化及部分遮挡的问题,且精度较高。  相似文献

This paper presents a method of shadow removal to improve the accuracy of pedestrian detection and tracking in indoor environments. The proposed method can be divided into four steps: building a background model which can be automatically updated, extract moving objects region, eliminating moving objects shadows, classifying and track pedestrians. The background model is built with pixel value and the updating of Gussian. The approach for real time background-foreground extraction is used to extract pedestrian region that may contains multiple shadows. In the gray histogram space, based on the depth value of the gray images, a reasonable threshold is set to remove shadows from various pedestrians. In this work, we propose a methodology using the foreground frames without shadows to detect and track the pedestrians across training datasets. Comparative experimental results show that our method is capable of dealing with shadows and detecting moving pedestrians in cluttered environments.  相似文献

The paper considers a problem of multiple person tracking. We present the algorithm to automatic people tracking on surveillance videos recorded by static cameras. Proposed algorithm is an extension of approach based on tracking-by-detection of people heads and data association using Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC). Short track fragments (tracklets) are built by local tracking of people heads. Tracklet postprocessing and accurate results interpolation were shown to reduce number of false positives. We use position deviations of tracklets and revised entry/exit points factor to separate pedestrians from false positives. The paper presents a new method to estimate body position, that increases precision of tracker. Finally, we switched HOG-based detector to cascade one. Our evaluation shows proposed modifications significantly increase tracking quality.  相似文献

This paper proposes an effective approach to detect and segment moving objects from two time-consecutive stereo frames, which leverages the uncertainties in camera motion estimation and in disparity computation. First, the relative camera motion and its uncertainty are computed by tracking and matching sparse features in four images. Then, the motion likelihood at each pixel is estimated by taking into account the ego-motion uncertainty and disparity in computation procedure. Finally, the motion likelihood, color and depth cues are combined in the graph-cut framework for moving object segmentation. The efficiency of the proposed method is evaluated on the KITTI benchmarking datasets, and our experiments show that the proposed approach is robust against both global (camera motion) and local (optical flow) noise. Moreover, the approach is dense as it applies to all pixels in an image, and even partially occluded moving objects can be detected successfully. Without dedicated tracking strategy, our approach achieves high recall and comparable precision on the KITTI benchmarking sequences.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a fully automatic algorithm to detect and track multiple humans in high-density crowds in the presence of extreme occlusion. Typical approaches such as background modeling and body part-based pedestrian detection fail when most of the scene is in motion and most body parts of most of the pedestrians are occluded. To overcome this problem, we integrate human detection and tracking into a single framework and introduce a confirmation-by-classification method for tracking that associates detections with tracks, tracks humans through occlusions, and eliminates false positive tracks. We use a Viola and Jones AdaBoost detection cascade, a particle filter for tracking, and color histograms for appearance modeling. To further reduce false detections due to dense features and shadows, we introduce a method for estimation and utilization of a 3D head plane that reduces false positives while preserving high detection rates. The algorithm learns the head plane from observations of human heads incrementally, without any a priori extrinsic camera calibration information, and only begins to utilize the head plane once confidence in the parameter estimates is sufficiently high. In an experimental evaluation, we show that confirmation-by-classification and head plane estimation together enable the construction of an excellent pedestrian tracker for dense crowds.  相似文献

This paper proposes a novel approach to combine data from multiple low-cost sensors to detect people in a mobile robot. Robust detection of people is a key capability required for robots working in environments with people. Several works have shown the benefits of fusing data from complementary sensors. The Kinect sensor provides a rich data set at a significantly low cost, however, it has some limitations for its use on a mobile platform, mainly that people detection algorithms rely on images captured by a static camera. To cope with these limitations, this work is based on the fusion of Kinect and a thermical sensor (thermopile) mounted on top of a mobile platform. We propose the implementation of an evolutionary selection of sequences of image transformation to detect people through supervised classifiers. Experimental results carried out with a mobile platform in a manufacturing shop floor show that the percentage of wrong classified using only Kinect is drastically reduced with the classification algorithms and with the combination of the three information sources. Extra experiments are presented as well to show the benefits of the image transformation sequence idea here presented.  相似文献

Multisensor-Based Human Detection and Tracking for Mobile Service Robots   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
One of fundamental issues for service robots is human-robot interaction. In order to perform such a task and provide the desired services, these robots need to detect and track people in the surroundings. In this paper, we propose a solution for human tracking with a mobile robot that implements multisensor data fusion techniques. The system utilizes a new algorithm for laser-based leg detection using the onboard laser range finder (LRF). The approach is based on the recognition of typical leg patterns extracted from laser scans, which are shown to also be very discriminative in cluttered environments. These patterns can be used to localize both static and walking persons, even when the robot moves. Furthermore, faces are detected using the robot's camera, and the information is fused to the legs' position using a sequential implementation of unscented Kalman filter. The proposed solution is feasible for service robots with a similar device configuration and has been successfully implemented on two different mobile platforms. Several experiments illustrate the effectiveness of our approach, showing that robust human tracking can be performed within complex indoor environments.  相似文献
