Nanocrystalline TiO2, CeO2 and CeO2-doped TiO2 have been successfully prepared by one-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP). Resulting powders were characterized with X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2-physisorption, Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The TiO2 and CeO2-doped TiO2 nanopowders were composed of single-crystalline spherical particles with as-prepared primary particle size of 10-13 nm for Ce doping concentrations of 5-50 at%, while square-shape particles with average size around 9 nm were only observed from flame-made CeO2. The adsorption edge of resulting powder was shifted from 388 to 467 nm as the Ce content increased from 0 to 30 at% and there was an optimal Ce content in association with the maximum absorbance. This effect is due to the insertion of Ce3+/4+ in the TiO2 matrix, which generated an n-type impurity band.  相似文献

The Pd/TiO2 nanoparticles containing 5 wt.% Pd were synthesized by one-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) under different flame conditions. As revealed by both X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results, the average particle sizes of Pd/TiO2 were increased from 9.7 to 24.6 nm with increasing the precursor concentration and the feed flow rate as well as reduction of the O2 dispersing gas during FSP synthesis. Although the BET surface area and %anatase phase content were decreased with increasing Pd/TiO2 particle size, %Pd dispersion as determined from the amounts of CO chemisorption were higher on the larger size FSP-made Pd/TiO2 nanoparticles. It is suggested that the shorter residence time in flame and/or the lower combustion energy (enthalpy density) resulted in more coverage of Pd surface by the formation of Ti-O groups, rendering lower CO chemisorption ability of the smaller size Pd/TiO2.  相似文献

TiO2, TiO2/Ag and TiO2/Au photocatalysts exhibiting a hollow spherical morphology were prepared by spray pyrolysis of aqueous solutions of titanium citrate complex and titanium oxalate precursors in one-step. Effects of precursor concentration and spray pyrolysis temperature were investigated. By subsequent heat treatment, photocatalysts with phase compositions from 10 to 100% rutile and crystallite sizes from 12 to 120 nm were obtained. A correlation between precursor concentration and size of the hollow spherical agglomerates obtained during spray pyrolysis was established. The anatase to rutile transformation was enhanced with metal incorporations and increased precursor concentration. The photocatalytic activity was evaluated by oxidation of methylene blue under UV-irradiation. As-prepared TiO2 particles with large amounts of amorphous phase and organic residuals showed similar photocatalytic activity as the commercial Degussa P25. The metal incorporated samples showed comparable photocatalytic activity to the pure TiO2 photocatalysts.  相似文献

The Pt–Sn/Al2O3 catalysts with 0.3 wt% Pt and 0.5–1.5 wt% Sn loading were prepared by one-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP). Unlike the catalysts prepared by conventional impregnation method, the FSP-derived catalysts were composed of single-crystalline γ-alumina particles with the as-prepared primary particle size of 10–18 nm and contained only large pores. The FSP catalysts exhibited superior catalytic activity and better stability than the ones made by impregnation in the dehydrogenation of propane, while they did not alter the selectivity to propylene (in all cases, propylene selectivity ≥96%). The presence of large pores in the flame-made catalysts not only facilitated diffusion of the reactants and products but could also lessen the amount of carbon deposited during reactions. As revealed by CO chemisorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), the metal particles appeared to be partially covered by the alumina matrix (Al–O) due to the simultaneous formation of particles during FSP synthesis. Such phenomena, however, were shown to result in the formation of active Pt–Sn ensembles for propane dehydrogenation as shown by higher turnover frequencies (TOFs).  相似文献

TiO2 hollow nanoparticles were prepared by the solvothermal method, calcined at different temperatures and characterized by XRD, BET, SEM, PL and FT-IR. The effects of morphology, size and calcination temperature on the photocatalytic activity of the prepared materials were discussed in detail. It was found that the calcination temperature altered the crystallinity, morphology, surface area, and the porous structure. The photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 powders evaluated through photocatalytic degradation of gaseous acetone under UV-light irradiation, showed TiO2 calcined at 250 °C to exhibit a higher photocatalytic activity than commercial powders (Degussa P25).  相似文献

SiO2–TiO2/montmorillonite composites were prepared under acidic, neutral and basic conditions and the solid acidity of the resulting composites were determined. All the SiO2/TiO2 ratio of the colloidal particles was set at 10 but the resulting SiO2/TiO2 ratios were significantly richer in TiO2. The XRD patterns of the acidic composite showed expanding and broadening of the (001) reflection by intercalation of colloidal SiO2–TiO2 particles, but the neutral and basic composites showed only broadening of the reflections and no intercalation. The specific surface areas of the acidic, neutral and basic composites (375, 237 and 247 m2/g, respectively) were much larger than of montmorillonite (6 m2/g). The average pore sizes were about 4, 15 and 50 nm, and the amounts of solid acidic sites measured by the NH3-TPD were 178, 95 and 86 µmol/g for the acidic, neutral and basic composites, respectively. The solid acid amount of the acidic composite was twice that of a commercial catalyst, K-10, (85 µmol/g) and much higher than the guest phase SiO2–TiO2 gel (16 µmol/g) or the host phase montmorillonite (6 µmol/g). The TPD peak temperatures reflect the acid strength, and were similar in all the samples, ranging from 175° to 200 °C.  相似文献

A dopant-free aerosol synthesis of highly crystalline TiO2 nanoparticles (20–35 nm) with tunable polymorphic content is demonstrated by rapid flame spray pyrolysis. By controlling precisely the total ambient oxygen partial pressure of the combustion in a quartz tube enclosure, anatase content as high as 96 wt% (4 wt% rutile) was obtained at high oxic flame conditions, while rutile content as high as 94 wt% (6 wt% anatase) was obtained under anoxic flames. The polymorphic variability lies within a narrow range of combustion equivalence ratios, that is, 1.0<Φ<1.5. Unlike any other flame aerosol syntheses, the anatase and rutile crystallite sizes were similar within each sample. Under highly oxic flame conditions (Φ<1.0), twinnings between anatase {0 1 1} planes could be observed, inferring oriented attachment taking place. Such mechanism could not, however, be seen under anoxic flame (Φ>1.0) possibly due to physical hindrance by surface carbonaceous content (typically <2 wt%). The carbon content can be easily removed by short calcination without significantly affecting the surface areas and crystallite properties of the original TiO2 nanocrystals, preserving hence its pristine state.  相似文献

The Co/ZrO2 catalysts with various Co loadings (5–10 wt.%) were prepared by one-step flame spray pyrolysis (FSP) under different flame conditions. As revealed by XRD and TEM, all the resulting Co/ZrO2 nanoparticles were composed of single-crystalline particles exhibiting the characteristic tetragonal structure of ZrO2. Varying the amount of Co dopants during FSP synthesis did not alter the primary particle size of ZrO2 which was determined to be ca. 14 nm. On the other hand, increasing precursor feed rate from 3 to 8 ml/min resulted in an increase of ZrO2 crystallite size from 10 to 19 nm. The higher precursor feed rate produced higher enthalpy of flame and longer residence times, which increased coalescence and sintering of the particles. Compared to the Co/ZrO2 prepared by conventional impregnation method, the catalytic activities of the FSP-made catalysts were much higher. Moreover, the hydrogenation rates of the FSP-made Co/ZrO2 catalysts were increased with increasing Co loading and precursor feed rate. According to H2 chemisorption and H2 temperature program reduction results, the improvement of catalytic activity and C2–C6 selectivities of the FSP-made catalysts in the CO hydrogenation was attributed to the higher number of Co metal active sites and lower interaction between Co/CoO and ZrO2 support obtained via the FSP synthesis.  相似文献

Combined TiO2/SiO2 mesoporous materials were prepared by deposition of TiO2 nanoparticles synthesised via the acid-catalysed sol–gel method. In the first synthesis step a titania solution is prepared, by dissolving titaniumtetraisopropoxide in nitric acid. The influences of the initial titaniumtetraisopropoxide concentration and the temperature of dissolving on the final structural properties were investigated. In the second step of the synthesis, the titania nanoparticles were deposited on a silica support. Here, the influence of the temperature during deposition was studied. The depositions were carried out on two different mesoporous silica supports, SBA-15 and MCF, leading to substantial differences in the catalytic and structural properties. The samples were analysed with N2-sorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) to obtain structural information, determining the amount of titania, the crystal phase and the location of the titania particles on the mesoporous material (inside or outside the mesoporous channels). The structural differences of the support strongly determine the location of the nanoparticles and the subsequent photocatalytic activity towards the degradation of rhodamine 6G in aqueous solution under UV irradiation.  相似文献

Preparation of TiO2/SiO2 multilayer flakes and their application to decorative powders were investigated. In contrast to conventional products prepared through the multicoating of core platelets, the coreless TiO2/SiO2 multilayer flakes were prepared by detaching multilayer films from their substrates. These flakes exhibited structural colors, when the optical path length of both the TiO2 and SiO2 layers are adjusted to be one fourth of the wavelength of visible light. A multicoating of more than five layers resulted in the propagation of cracks, which prevented the preparation of thick flakes. Paint films fabricated using the multilayer flakes and acrylic resins showed reflectance spectra that were comparable with those obtained for multicoatings on substrates.  相似文献

Anatase and rutile TiO2 were used for preparation of the TiO2 supported Pd and Pd–Ag catalysts for selective hydrogenation of acetylene. It was found that Pd/TiO2-anatase exhibited higher acetylene conversion and ethylene selectivity than rutile TiO2 supported ones. However, addition of Ag to Pd/TiO2-anatase catalyst resulted in lower ethylene selectivity while that of Pd/TiO2-rutile increased. It is suggested that Ag addition suppressed the beneficial effect of the Ti3+ sites presented on the anatase TiO2 during selective acetylene hydrogenation whereas without Ti3+, Ag promoted ethylene selectivity by blocking sites for over-hydrogenation of ethylene to ethane.  相似文献

In this study, TiO2/SiO2 nanocomposites were synthesized via a sol-gel route by adding tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) to a solution containing different molar ratios of Degussa P25 TiO2 nanoparticles. FTIR, TGA, EDAX and XRD techniques were used to characterize the modified nanoparticles. Photocatalytic activity of the nanoparticles in an aqueous solution and into the acrylic based coating was evaluated using colour coordinate data measurements, SEM analysis, gloss measurements and FTIR spectroscopy, in the presence of Rhodamine B (Rh.B) dyestuff, as a pollutant model, before and after exposure to the UVA (340 nm) irradiation and compared to their unmodified counterparts. The results showed that silica grafting effectively reduced the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 nanoparticles as evidenced by absorption spectra and colour changes of Rh.B aqueous solutions during the UVA irradiation. The results revealed the effectiveness of sol-gel route for preparation of TiO2/SiO2 nanocomposites. The optimum result was obtained with 1% molar ratio of TiO2:TEOS. Addition of TiO2/SiO2 nanocomposites into the acrylic based coating revealed reduction of photo-degradation of Rh.B compared to untreated nanoparticles. Finally, inclusion of TEOS treated TiO2 nanoparticles into the aqueous organic coatings, provides photocatalytic property and as a result, it can possibly be considered for self-cleaning coatings.  相似文献

Meldola blue immobilized on a new SiO2/TiO2/graphite composite was applied in the electrocatalytic oxidation of NADH. The materials were prepared by the sol-gel processing method and characterized by several techniques including scanning electronic microscopy coupled to energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and high-resolution transmission electronic microscopy (HRTEM). Si and Ti mapping profiles on the surface showed a homogeneous distribution of the components. Ti2p binding energy peaks indicate that the formation of Si-O-Ti linkage is presumably the responsible for the high rigidity of the matrices. The good electrical conductivity presented by the composites (5 and 11 S cm−1) can be related to a homogeneous distribution of graphite particles observed by TEM. After the materials characterization, a SiO2/TiO2/graphite electrode was prepared and some chemical modifications were performed on its surface to promote the adsorption of meldola blue. The resulting system presented electrocatalytic properties toward the oxidation of NADH, decreasing the oxidation potential to −120 mV. The proposed sensor showed a wide linear response range from 0.018 to 7.29 mmol l−1 and limit of detection of 0.008 mmol l−1. SiO2/TiO2/graphite has shown to be a promising material to be used as a suitable support in the construction of new electrochemical sensors.  相似文献

Titania-modified silicas with different weight% of TiO2 were prepared by sol–gel method and used as supports for Pd (1 wt%) catalysts. The obtained materials were tested in the oxidation of methane under lean conditions in absence and in presence of SO2. Test reactions were consecutively performed in order to evaluate the thermal stability and poisoning reversibility. Increasing amounts of TiO2 improved the catalytic activity, with an optimum of the performance for 10 wt% TiO2 loading. Moreover, the titania-containing catalysts exhibited a superior tolerance towards SO2 by either adding it to the reactants or feeding it as a pure pretreatment atmosphere at 350 °C. Catalysts were characterized by XPS, XRD, FT-IR and BET measurements. According to the structural and surface analyses, the mixed oxides contained Si–O–Ti linkages which were interpreted as being responsible for the enhanced intrinsic activity of supported PdO with respect to PdO on either pure SiO2 or pure TiO2. Moreover, the preferential interaction of the sulfur molecule with TiO2 and the easy SOx desorption from high surface area silica were the determining factors for the superior SO2 tolerance of the TiO2-doped catalysts.  相似文献

CeO2/TiO2 composite with kernel–shell structure was synthesized by a sol–gel process. The characterization results show that the composite is made up of anatase phase TiO2 and cubic system CeO2. The electrochemiluminescence (ECL) behavior of the CeO2/TiO2 composite was studied by a cyclic voltammetry in the presence of persulfate, and the effect factors on ECL emission were discussed. Based on a series of experiments, it is proposed that the strong dual ECL emission produced by the CeO2/TiO2 composite resulted from the benefit ECL effect of interface heterojunction in composite.  相似文献

A series of CeO2/SiO2 mesostructured composite materials was synthesized by sol–gel process using Pluronic P123 as template, tetraethylorthosilicate as silica source and hexahydrated cerium nitrate as precursor under acid condition. The as-synthesized materials with Ce/Si molar ratio ranging from 0.03 to 0.3 were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), laser Raman spectroscopy (LRS), and N2 adsorption. Characterization revealed that all samples possess ordered hexagonal mesoporous structure similar to SBA-15 and possess high surface area, large pore volume and uniform pore size. The fact that cerium species are present as highly dispersed CeO2 nanocrystals in hexagonal matrix was confirmed by XRD combined with high-resolution TEM and selected area electron diffraction (SAED) analysis. Introduction of ceria to silica matrix can cause a distortion of hexagonal ordering structure and decrease pore diameter and increase the wall thickness of mesopores. Moreover, it can be found that this sol–gel route is a feasible, effective and simple method for templating synthesis of CeO2/SiO2 composite materials.  相似文献

In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles were treated with 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyltriethoxysilane (fluorosilane) in an alkaline condition. The treated nanoparticles were added to a water-base acrylic coating to introduce photocatalytic activity. Dispersion of the nanoparticles and also Ti element wt% on the coatings’ surface were evaluated using atomic force microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray analyses, respectively. Photocatalytic activity of the coatings was investigated via study of the decomposition – under UVA irradiation – of Rhodamine B, as a pollutant model deposited on the coatings’ surface. Durability of the coatings in short-term was investigated using atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy observations.  相似文献

Copper(I) chloride catalysts with a loading of 20 wt%, supported on silica–titania mixed oxides with Si/Ti ratios of 1, 5, 10 and 50 were prepared by conventional and microwave heating methods and tested in the oxidative carbonylation of methanol to dimethyl carbonate (DMC). X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) were used to examine the bulk and surface properties of the CuCl/SiO2–TiO2 catalysts. Quantum-chemical calculations were performed to explore the interaction of CuCl with the silica–titania support. Microwave heating showed some significant advantages over the conventional heating method, with markedly reduced preparation temperature and time, and provided improved catalytic activity in the oxidative carbonylation of methanol. The catalytic behavior of CuCl/SiO2–TiO2 in the test reaction studied was strongly dependent on the support composition. Incorporation of tetrahedral Ti(IV) species into the silica matrix could enhance the interaction of copper species with the oxide support. The improved catalytic performance of CuCl/SiO2–TiO2 in the DMC synthesis can be understood by the existence of the strong coordination interactions between the Cu+ centers of CuCl and the bridging oxygen atoms at the Si–O–Ti bonds in the silica–titania support.  相似文献

Titania microspheres with higher photocatalytic activity have been synthesized using TiCl4 and FeCl3 as the precursor in the presence of Span-80. The products were characterized with XRD, TEM and UV–vis DRS. XRD and TEM indicated that the microsphere was a mixture of rutile, brookite and anatase with a diameter of about 5–7 μm. The photocatalytic experiments revealed that the microspheres exhibited high photocatalytic activities under UV-light and solar irradiation. The degradation rate of methyl orange (MO) was 100% under UV-light irradiation for 3 h and 91% under solar irradiation for 6 h. In particular, the catalysts could be readily separated by sedimentation after the photocatalytic reaction.  相似文献

Preparation of crack-free thin films of interconnected and non-agglomerated TiO2 nanoparticles on electronically conducting fluorine doped tin oxide surfaces is instrumental in designing and developing transparent dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). A novel technique called “Atomized Spray Pyrolysis” (ASP) has been designed and developed to achieve such perfectly transparent thin films. Optical transmittance of TiO2 films produced on FTO surface by this ASP method has been compared with those obtained by doctor-blading and by hand spray methods and found that the atomized spray pyrolysis technique give films with high transparency. Dye adsorption per gram of TiO2 is 2.16 times higher in the sample produced by the ASP method when compared to the film produced by the hand spray method and is 1.60 times higher than that produced by the doctor-blading method using a commercially available TiO2 nanocrystalline paste. SEM studies show the presence of interconnected discrete particles in the film produced by the ASP method. The fill factor (ff) remains almost constant for the cells with thickness from 6 μm to 13 μm but the highest photovoltage and photocurrent were found in ∼10 μm film based DSC which gave 8.2% conversion efficiency at AM 1.5 irradiation for cells of 0.25 cm2 active area.  相似文献
