Integrated optical filters having elliptic transfer functions are proposed using two-dimensional arrays of synchronously tuned mutually coupled microring resonators. Analysis of microring filter topologies of the most general form is facilitated by the formulation of an energy-coupling matrix for the microring array. A method for synthesizing elliptic microring filter transfer functions having the prescribed transmission poles and zeros is also presented. The approach involves representing the microring filter by an equivalent electrical network of coupled LC oscillators and applying the coupling matrix technique developed for micro-wave filters to determine the coupling parameters. An example of a sixth-order elliptic function filter is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of using mutually coupled microring resonators to realize optical filters having finite transmission zeros in the transfer function  相似文献

通过三维光波导的模式耦合理论分析了半导体环形激光器(SRL)与直波导的耦合系数,用耦合系数的解析表达式结合SRL自再现条件分析了SRL各参数对阈值增益的影响.分析结果表明,耦合系数随波导宽度和厚度、波导间距的增大而减小,随SRL半径的增大而增大;阈值增益随波导宽度和厚度、波导间距的增大而增大,随SRL半径的增大而减小.  相似文献

微环谐振腔以其功能多样、结构简洁、集成度高等特点已经成为当前的研究热点。采用多环结构形成的滤波器能够实现在通带内比单环谐振滤波器更为陡峭的滚降、更平坦的峰顶和更好的抑制阻带。利用信号流程图法(SFG)推导了串联耦合和并联耦合两种形式的多环谐振滤波器的系统传递函数公式。在串联结构中,滤波器的输出特性主要受到耦合系数和损耗的影响;在并联结构中,通过优化环间距,从而使下载端输出光谱达到比较好的形状。  相似文献

根据波导耦合模理论详细研究了微环共振滤波器的滤波特性,分析了单环、串联双环、串联三环结构等波导微环共振滤波器的滤波特点。通过模拟计算发现,滤波带宽平坦化程度和信道串扰大小主要依赖于由波导构成的各方向耦合器之间的功率耦合比k,同时微环波导的损耗是器件滤波特性劣化的重要原因。在一定优化参数条件下,多环结构的滤波效果优于传统单环结构,并且各方向耦合器功率耦合比k值的优化取值范围扩大,降低了器件工艺实现难度。  相似文献

实现了一种基于两个级联微环谐振器的导向光学译码器,器件利用等离子色散效应调制微环谐振器。制作工艺误差引起的两个微环谐振器谐振波长不一致可以通过微环谐振器上热极进行补偿。码型发生器产生的两个电学信号驱动微环谐振器的PIN结,由四个输出端口的光学信号给出译码结果。通过对器件的静态光谱分析得到工作波长和驱动电压。最终实现了100Mbps的动态译码结果。  相似文献

对1×N信道硅基竖直耦合三环谐振波分复用器的传输特性进行了分析,给出了光学传递函数的公式.在中心波长1550.918nm、波长间隔1.6nm的情况下,对其振幅耦合比率、波谱响应、分光光谱、插入损耗、信道间的串扰进行了数值模拟.计算结果表明,该器件具有以下良好性能:若取小环与信道间的振幅耦合比率为0.27,小环与大环间的振幅耦合比率为0.06,该器件具有箱形波谱响应,输出光谱中的次峰值已被抑制到-25dB,谐振峰平坦且陡峭,3dB带宽约为0.28nm,每条输出信道的插入损耗及串扰较小,插入损耗小于0.71dB,串扰可降至-53dB以下.  相似文献

在高性能计算机系统中, 极低延迟高吞吐量的光交换网络具有很多优势, 而光开关作为全光交换网络中的关键器件, 它的性能直接影响到光交换网络的交换能力, 是近年光通信领域的研究热点。半导体微环共振器作为近年提出的一种新的光开关解决方案, 在功耗、延迟、体积等方面具有优势, 目前吸引了越来越多研究机构的注意, 并先后提出了一些比较有价值的微环共振器光开关设计方案。结合目前国内外微环共振器光开关的最新进展, 分析了微环共振器光开关在高性能计算机和光交换网络中的应用, 需要进一步改进的研究重点, 以及微环共振器作为低延迟光开关的发展前景。  相似文献

A linearized modulator based on the Mach-Zehnder interferometer (MZI) loaded with a second-order allpass microring resonator is proposed and analyzed. The device is shown to exhibit much smaller intermodulation distortion than standard Mach-Zehnder modulators, thus greatly enhancing the device dynamic range. Gain effect associated with the microring resonance results in a modulator transfer function with high slope efficiency and large RF gain. Moreover, combined with the use of a highly electrooptic polymer, the high slope efficiency allows for the possibility of realizing modulators with subvolt drive voltage. The detrimental effect of loss in the microring resonators on device performance is also investigated and a design approach to mitigate its effect is presented. The proposed modulator can be linearized to any arbitrary nth order by loading the MZI with a higher order allpass microring resonator.  相似文献

A novel wavelength-selective 1 times N power splitter, which consists of a microring and N + 1 couplers, is presented. One coupler is for coupling the light signal from the input port into the microring and the other N couplers are for coupling the signal light from the microring to the output ports. The channels with the resonant wavelength of the microring are dropped and split into N output ports. The critical coupling condition to achieve a high extinction ratio is also given. By appropriately choosing the coupling coefficients for the input/output couplers, it is flexible to have a uniform or nonuniform power splitting as desired.  相似文献

A modulator is an essential building block in the integrated photonics,connecting the electrical with optical signals.The microring modulator gains much attention because of the small footprint,low drive voltage and high extinction ratio.An ultra-low Vpp and high-modulation-depth indium phosphide-based racetrack microring modulator is demonstrated in this pa-per.The proposed device mainly comprises one racetrack microring,incorporating a semiconductor amplifier,and coupling with a bus waveguide through a multimode interference coupler.Traveling wave electrodes are employed to supply bidirection-al bias ports,terminating with a 50-Ω impedance.The on/off extinction ratio of the microring reaches 43.3 dB due to the delic-ately tuning of the gain.An 11 mV Vpp,a maximum 42.5 dB modulation depth and a 6.6 GHz bandwidth are realized,respect-ively.This proposed microring modulator could enrich the functionalities and designability of the fundamental integrated devices.  相似文献

利用微环谐振器进行光速控制时,各参数对光脉冲传输的影响是不可忽略的,它除了导致光脉冲展宽,还引起脉冲的畸变。基于微环谐振器的传输特性,推导了单环谐振器的二阶色散和三阶色散表达式,针对无损耗/增益情形,分析了利用微环谐振器进行光速控制时,高阶色散和输入脉冲中心波长对输出脉冲畸变的影响,分析了损耗/增益对单环谐振器输出脉冲畸变的影响。结果表明,二阶色散导致脉冲展宽,三阶色散导致脉冲畸变,输入脉冲中心波长位置影响脉冲分裂谷底的深浅,而损耗和增益影响脉冲畸变情况。为利用微环谐振器实现光速控制的应用提供了设计优化依据。  相似文献

In this paper, we demonstrate all-optical nonlinear switching in compact GaAs-AlGaAs microring resonators at the 1.55-μm wavelength. Switching is accomplished in the pump-and-probe configuration in which the pump-and-probe signals are tuned to different resonance wavelengths of the microring. Refractive index change in the microring due to free carriers generated by two photon absorption is used to switch the probe beam in and out of resonance. Measured transient responses of the pump and probe through the microring show good agreement with theoretical predictions based on nonlinear pump-probe interaction due to two photon absorption  相似文献

利用193 nm深紫外曝光的方法应用CMOS技术,在SOI片上加工制作了1×8阵列上下载微环滤波器,微环半径分别为21.0、20.5、20.0和19.5μm。通过测量直通端的透射光谱,在1 540~1 560 nm的波段上观测到微环阵列谐振波长的透射谱凹陷,对应的消光比均大于15dB,在谐振波长1559.5 nm处的消光比高达35 dB。在半径为20.5μm的微环下载端,测得的波长为1 542.6、1 546.7、1 551.0、1 555.2和1 559.3 nm的下载峰,对应的自由谱宽为4.2 nm。  相似文献
