This paper presents a fuzzy traffic controller for a set of intersections and its simulation results. The controller of an intersection controls its own traffic and cooperates with its neighbors. It gets information from its traffic detectors and its neighbors. Using this information, the fuzzy rule base system gives optimal signals. It manages phase sequences and phase lengths adaptively to its neighbors' as well as its own traffic conditions. To carry out the performance evaluation of the controller, a simulator for intersection groups has been developed. The proposed method is compared with the vehicle actuated method which is one of the typical conventional methods. The average delay time of a vehicle is used as a performance index. The simulation results show good performance in the case of time-varying traffic patterns and heavy traffic conditions 相似文献

This ethnographic study examines the interplay between communication, democracy, and community at an inner-city neighborhood newspaper, and explores whether this neighborhood newspaper - through its editor and staff - views itself acting as an agent of strong democracy. In this paper, design of a radial power combiner at microwave frequencies has been presented. This structure combines 16 coaxial inputs together and creates one rectangular waveguide output of type WR-187. Although complexity of the proposed combiner compared to combiners with coaxial output has increased, its return loss and VSWR have been improved. In order to achieve a good matching in its high frequency response, a fast tune technique has been applied to design procedure. In its design, a rectangular waveguide has been used together with its radial structure but symmetry among its ports and its phase and amplitude deviations have remained at standard values. Fault-tolerance is the architectural attribute of a digital system that keeps the logic machine doing its specified tasks when its host, the physical system, suffers various kinds of failures of its components. A more general concept of fault-tolerance also includes human mistakes committed during software and hardware implementation and during man/machine interaction among the causes of faults that are to be tolerated by the logic machine. This paper discusses the concept of faulttolerance, the reasons for its inclusion in digital system architecture, and the methods of its implementation. A chronological view of the evolution of fault-tolerant systems and an outline of some goals for its further development conclude the presentation. 相似文献
