We study output consensus in a network of interconnected non‐identical positive real systems cascaded with a single integrator. Assuming undirected, diffusive interconnections, sufficient conditions are provided to ensure output consensus for two cases: (i) the individual systems are weakly strictly positive real systems cascaded with a single integrator, and (ii) the individual systems are positive real systems cascaded with a single integrator. Many dynamical systems are modeled as vector second‐order differential equations. This paper presents analysis and synthesis conditions in terms of LMI with explicit dependence in the coefficient matrices of vector second‐order systems. These conditions benefit from the separation between the Lyapunov matrix and the system matrices by introducing matrix multipliers, which potentially reduce conservativeness in hard control problems. Multipliers facilitate the usage of parameter‐dependent Lyapunov functions as certificates of stability of uncertain and time‐varying vector second‐order systems. The conditions introduced in this work have the potential to increase the practice of analyzing and controlling systems directly in vector second‐order form. This paper is concerned with the problem of control with ‐stability constraint for a class of switched positive linear systems. The ‐stability means that all the poles of each subsystem of the resultant closed‐loop system belong to a prescribed disk in the complex plane. A sufficient condition is derived for the existence of a set of state‐feedback controllers, which guarantees that the closed‐loop system is not only positive and exponentially stable with each subsystem ‐stable but also has a weighted performance for a class of switching signals with average dwell time greater than a certain positive constant. Both continuous‐time and discrete‐time cases are considered, and all of the obtained conditions are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities, whose solution also yields the desired controller gains and the corresponding minimal average dwell time. In this paper, we propose a design method of a static anti‐windup compensator that guarantees robust stability subject to input saturation and suppresses the degradation of robust performance during the saturation period. In previous studies, this problem has been considered to be equivalent to a static output feedback design problem, which is essentially a non‐convex problem. We show that this problem can be reduced to an equivalent convex problem by using an appropriate sector transformation. The numerical solution can be obtained efficiently by solving linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Further, a constant scaling matrix is introduced to the condition in order to reduce the conservativeness. In this case, since the design problem is no more LMIs, an algorithm for solving the problem by LMI iterations is presented. We present a method for the synthesis of a control law for input constrained linear systems that incorporates both a traditional linear output-feedback controller as well as a static anti-windup compensator. Unlike traditional two-step anti-windup controller designs in which the linear controller and anti-windup compensator are designed sequentially, our method synthesizes all controller parameters simultaneously. This one-step design retains the anti-windup structure, thus providing structurally ‘a priori’ compensation for saturation. We derive sufficient conditions for guaranteeing global quadratic stability and for satisfying multiple, possibly conflicting, performance objectives on the constrained and unconstrained closed-loop dynamics. The resulting synthesis problem is recast as an optimization over linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). We demonstrate the proposed method on a benchmark problem.  相似文献

We design an observer-protocol pair to asymptotically reconstruct the states of a linear time-invariant (LTI) plant under communication constraints induced by the network. We parameterize a class of observers and protocols, and for a given network transmission interval, we derive sufficient conditions in terms of matrix inequalities for the existence of an observer-protocol pair in the considered class that asymptotically reconstructs the plant states.  相似文献

In this paper a parameter-dependent control problem for linear parametrically varying (LPV) systems is presented. Sufficient conditions are given that guarantee an LPV system is exponentially stable and achieves an induced L2-norm performance objective from the disturbance to error signals. The usefulness of parameter-dependent controllers is motivated from a gain-scheduling viewpoint. The resulting synthesis problem is reformulated into a convex optimization problem, which can be solved using efficient new algorithms.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with discrete-time linear periodic/time-invariant systems with polytopic-type uncertainties and propose a new linear matrix inequality (LMI)-based method for robust state-feedback controller synthesis. In stark contrast with existing approaches that are confined to memoryless static controller synthesis, we explore dynamical controller synthesis and reveal a particular periodically time-varying memory state-feedback controller (PTVMSFC) structure that allows LMI-based synthesis. In the context of robust controller synthesis, we prove rigorously that the proposed design method encompasses the well-known extended-LMI-based static controller synthesis methods as particular cases. Through numerical experiments, we demonstrate that the suggested design method is indeed effective in achieving less conservative results, under both periodic and time-invariant settings. We finally derive a viable test to verify that the designed robust PTVMSFC is “exact” in the sense that it attains the best achievable robust performance. This exactness verification test works fine in practice, and we will show via a numerical example that exact robust control is indeed attained by designing PTVMSFCs, even for such a problem where the standard memoryless static state-feedback fails.  相似文献

To deal with the problem of conflicting requirements that cannot be satisfied by only a single LTI controller, this paper focuses on the design of a switching controller, which includes several stabilising linear time-invariant (LTI) controllers designed independently with different control performance criteria, for a specific LTI plant with a single I/O delay. The switching controller design procedure is divided into three steps. First, using simple loop shifting arguments, the design problem is reducible to an equivalent delay-free one. Second, traditional LTI controller synthesis methods could be considered independently for the delay-free plant. Third, based on a quadratically stable state space realisation method, a Youla parameter including a switching strategy with these controllers is designed to guarantee different requirements. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the validity and efficiency of the approach.  相似文献

A fundamental question about model predictive control (MPC) is its robustness to model uncertainty. In this paper, we present a robust constrained output feedback MPC algorithm that can stabilize plants with both polytopic uncertainty and norm-bound uncertainty. The design procedure involves off-line design of a robust constrained state feedback MPC law and a state estimator using linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Since we employ an off-line approach for the controller design which gives a sequence of explicit control laws, we are able to analyze the robust stabilizability of the combined control laws and estimator, and by adjusting the design parameters, guarantee robust stability of the closed-loop system in the presence of constraints. This paper considers the problem of synthesising a static output feedback (SOF) subject to arbitrary information structure constraints; in particular, the plants can be non-strictly proper. In such a case, the existing methods are hardly applicable except few special cases. A general approach that significantly differs from the existing methods is proposed that is able to deal with the most general case with the feature that both finite-frequency and full-frequency H-infinity performance specifications can be addressed in a unified manner. Sufficient solvability conditions are derived in terms of a set of finite-frequency positive real and strictly positive real conditions of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) form. Some frequency-dependent matrices are introduced into the design with the merit of making the conditions less restrictive. Several numerical examples are given that demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed approach, including applications to vehicle platooning.  相似文献

A randomized approach is considered for a feasibility problem on a parameter-dependent linear matrix inequality (LMI). In particular, a gradient-based and an ellipsoid-based randomized algorithms are improved by introduction of a stopping rule. The improved algorithms stop after a bounded number of iterations and this bound is of polynomial order in the problem size. When the algorithms stop, either of the following two events occurs: (i) they find with high confidence a probabilistic solution, which satisfies the given LMI for most of the parameter values; (ii) they detect in an approximate sense the non-existence of a deterministic solution, which satisfies the given LMI for all the parameter values. These results are important because the original randomized algorithms have issues to be settled on detection of convergence, on the speed of convergence, and on the assumption of feasibility. The improved algorithms can be adapted for an optimization problem constrained by a parameter-dependent LMI. A numerical example shows the efficacy of the proposed algorithms.  相似文献
