CJK Study Group Meeting on Standards Cooperation

The CJK Study Group Meeting on Standards Cooperation (Study Group for short) was held in the afternoon of April 23, 2012. More than 10 representatives from the national standardization administrations and the standardization associations of China, Japan and Korea attended the meeting.

The draft standard Y.IoT-Overview (Overview on Internet of Things) was passed officially at the meeting of Study Group 13 of ITU-T, with the number Y.2060, on June 15, 2012. This standard is the first general standard for internet of things in the world and a milestone in the development of the Internet of Things (IoT).     

A new theory of rock-explosive matching based on reasonable control of the crushed zone

Rational rock-explosive matching is of great importance to enhancing explosive energy effective utilization and improving rock fragmentation effect. The traditionally emphasized method of acoustic impedance matching is not rational. Based on blasting breakage mechanism, a new theory of rock-explosive matching in drilling and blasting is proposed. The new approach chooses explosive parameters by rational control of the size of crushed zone under the condition of fully fragmentation between adjacent balstholes. This method can directly reflect the blasting fragmentation effect and energy effective utilization, which is easy to implement. Also, a modified model is developed, with combination of adjacent blastholes explosion load taken into account. As a result, explosive parameters of different grades of rock are given in full coupling on-site mixed explosive charge for different project objectives.     

Research and development of seismic base isolation technique for civil engineering structures

Base isolation is one of the most promising alternatives among the structure control methods. In recent decades, base isolation has been seriously considered for civil structures, such as buildings and bridges, subjected to ground motion. The research achievements and development of seismic base isolation technique for civil structures in Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) are introduced. The achievements include project applications, experimental research results and theoretical innovation.

Introduction The mission of the Audio Video Coding Standard (AVS) Working Group of China is to develop AVS standards drafts and deliver them to the national standardization administration authorities. Since its establishment in 2002, the AVS Working Group has developed rapidly, growing from 33 members in 2003 to 153 in 2006.     

Bonding Interface of W-CuCrZr Explosively Welded Composite Plates for Plasma Facing Components

In order to realize the effective jointing of tungsten and Cu Cr Zr alloys manufactured for plasma facing components（PFCs）, explosive welding is employed for its some unique advantages. Different welding characteristics were investigated in this study. The interfacial waveform of the welded plates changed periodically from flat-wavelet to a large wave and finally to a stable wave, which began with the detonation point. The bonding strength of the specimens is higher than 32.9 MPa. Welding hardening and the formation of microcracks occurred at the interface zone. The results demonstrate that the joining reliabilities need to be improved in order to meet the need of applications involving the use of explosive welding to fabricate tungsten-based PFCs.
