The Jilting of Granny Weatherall is one of Katherine Anne Porter's most famous and successful short stories which shows her use of the stream-of-consciousness techniques substantially. This thesis tries to focus on the use of time montage in this story especially, which reveals her mastery of time and the artistic charm of her works.     

A Career in Planning

In this essay Christensen reviews her 50-year career as a planner, researcher, and teacher. A college summer internship in New York City exposed her to urban problems and initiatives, leading to her thesis and subsequent job at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, where she worked on interagency and intergovernmental projects. Later she studied at the University of California, Berkeley’s, Department of City and Regional Planning, where she became a member of the faculty. In her research and teaching she examined wicked planning problems (Rittel & Webber, 1973), uncertainty in planning, and organizational and intergovernmental decision making, as well as housing. To help students do better at doing good, she taught savvy through a course on planning institutions, and she continues to be engaged with planning theory.

AN INTERPRETATIVE BIOGRAPHY OF WINSOME HALL ANDREW (1905-1997)

This biographical account of Winsome Hall Andrew is a largely chronological account of an early twentieth century NSW architect whose work deserves further serious evaluation. It is also a demonstration of biographical narrative as an strategy for bringing women into a particular kind of historical presence, stressing the complexity of social expectations of women as fundamental to an understanding of their public productivity. It is also a somewhat poignant story which depends upon the honesty and courage of Hall Andrew's friends and relatives in acknowledging the difficulties in her life as well as the niceties. Finally, it is presented as an example of the complex interpretative strategy of my PhD thesis, an attempt to be accessible, relevant, critical, honest and fair.     

Analysis on the Orientation of Marriage Value in the 18th-19th Century of England through Pride and Prejudice

"It is truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune,must be in want of a wife." Almost two centuries later,the deep impression on readers left by the opening sentence of Pride and Prejudice has not decreased because of their changing literary taste.Jane Austin,the author of Pride and Prejudice,was one of the famous realistic writers in English literature in the nineteenth century.Pride and Prejudice is Austin's representative work.There were no earthshaking events,no dreadful disasters,no sharp contradictions and no romantic legends in Authin's novels.Time and space were small in her novels.She wrote how a marriageable woman could find a satisfactory husband.She described many kinds of love and marriage of different women.She expressed her own original views of marriage in her works.In Pride and Prejudice Austin wrote four marriage types: ideal Elizabeth and Darcy,realistic Charlotte and Collins,felicitous Jane and Bingley,unhappy Lydiard Wickham.She pointed out emphatically economic consideration is the bonds of wedlock and love.She said marriage is not determined by property and family status.It is unwise to marry without money,but it is wrong to marry for money;the marriage settled by love is happy and ideal.The thesis explicates that Austin's view of marriage was progressive,advocated by her focus on the equality between men and women.She emphasized marriage should be of equal importance both by love and by economic consideration,but love plays the guiding role.She revealed the connotation of marriage.She also analyses the marriage value in the 18th-19th century.Her exposure is of great realistic significance to the society today.

从型态建构到意义产生——紧凑型设计手法在贵阳花果园新城概念规划中的应用

该文总结了贵阳花果园新城概念规划的创作思路,从紧凑城市的设计理念出发,对在高容积率的规划限定条件下,建设生态城市需要破解的城市边界、土地使用、型态特征、交通体系、景观规划等要素进行分析,对高强度开发条件下新城综合体的设计提出建议。     

超长混凝土结构地下室裂缝控制

超长混凝土结构的裂缝控制是具有相当普遍性的技术难题。简要说明了超长结构裂缝产生的原因及影响裂缝发展的因素,并结合具体工程,总结了结构设计与施工中采取的主要技术措施,有效地控制了有害裂缝的产生和发展,可供类似工程参考。     

基于BP网络的碳纤维混凝土强度研究

介绍了应用均匀设计理论设计碳纤维混凝土配方的方法,通过所得到的试验数据,运用人工神经网络(ANN)的方法预测碳纤维混凝土抗压强度和劈裂抗拉强度;阐述了采用BP算法建立碳纤维混凝土抗压强度神经网络模型的过程,仿真结果表明,BP网络可成功地建立非线性的强度模型,预测强度可达到较高精度。     

Crafting the archive: Minnette De Silva,Architecture, and History

This article is about the work of Minnette De Silva, which made claims upon heritage and historical meaning through its concerns with craft. It investigates three facets of her oeuvre—her building, her writing and teaching, her design and handicraft—through the lens of her pictorial autobiography, The Life and Work of an Asian Woman Architect. She identified this remarkable publication as her ‘archives’, documenting in it her life and work (in the absence of a dedicated collection of records), and the equally notable twentieth-century sites and spheres through which she moved. Few careers invite critical investigation of South Asia's modern architectural forms and history as does that of De Silva, an understudied figure credited as a pioneer: a Sri Lanka Institute of Architects Gold Medal recipient, a Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Associate, a co-founder of the journal MARG, a participant in the International Congress of Modern Architecture (CIAM), and an architect practising in a range of discursive media. This article argues that De Silva positioned her intellectual and practical labour as a basis for authority rooted in a situated knowledge. In a reading of gender, caste, race and labour that maintains a scholarly scepticism about the purpose of the artist's biography, this article recovers her life and work from a fragmented archive, including an interview with De Silva in the year before her death, as well as a consideration of craft—interrogating each vis-à-vis the politics of historiography.

基于AHP—模糊综合评价法的城市公园无障碍环境建设研究——以昆明市弥勒寺公园为例

本文以昆明市弥勒寺公园为研究对象,采用AHP—模糊综合评价法,通过实地调研和问卷发放,结合相关资料及专家意见进行分析研究,构建了由5个准则层、21个影响因子组成的评价体系,再运用模糊关系矩阵得到昆明市弥勒寺公园的无障碍环境建设评价结果。结果表明:昆明市弥勒寺公园整体评价为良好,梳理现状主要问题并提出相应改进措施。本研究探索了城市公共空间主观与客观、定性与定量相结合的综合评价方法,对于城市公园无障碍环境的建设具有一定的参考价值。     

安全工程专业毕业设计(论文)教学改革与实践

通过万方数据库对安全工程、安全技术及工程、安全科学与工程及其相关专业的研究生学位论文进行检索,从学位论文的数量、选题情况、研究领域等方面作了统计分析。统计结果表明火灾科学是安全工程专业最为热点的研究领域且具有很强的学科交叉性。随后着重介绍了上海应用技术学院安全工程专业毕业设计(论文)环节的教学实践和改革措施,通过提前启动、校企联合、结合科研、结合大学生科技创新项目、选题改革等手段全面提升毕业设计(论文)质量。
