Conclusions Heat treatment in vacuum furnaces has the following advantages over the treatment in salt tanks: a considerable reduction
of the ecologically unfavorable load on the biosphere, improvement of the labor conditions, a recoupment period of 3–3.5 years
(the economic efficiency of the furnace after the recoupment period is 40 thousand rubles a year due to the absence of harmful
and toxic waste), reduction of the number of rejected parts by 5–7%, and improvement of the service stability due to the better
quality of the surface layer of the parts.
