This paper describes the multivariable characteristics of industrial coal-fired boilers and associated mathematical models, such as combustion model, a water drum level model and a superheated steam model. The purpose of the paper is to design multivariable control systems using multivariable system frequency domain design theory and the Smith-predictor technique. Ensemble systems are classification structures that apply a two‐level decision‐making process, in which the first level produces the outputs of the individual classifiers and the second level produces the output of the combination method (final output). Although ensemble systems have been proven to be efficient for pattern recognition tasks, its efficient design is not an easy task. This article investigates the influence of two diversity measures when used explicitly to guide the design of ensemble systems. These diversity measures were proposed recently, and they proved to be very interesting for the diversity–accuracy dilemma. To perform this investigation, we will use two well‐known optimization techniques, genetic algorithms, and tabu search, in their mono‐objective and multiobjective versions. As objectives of the optimization techniques, we use error rate and two diversity measures as well as all possible combinations of these three objectives. In this article, we aim to analyze which set of objectives can generate more accurate ensembles. In addition, we aim to analyze whether or not the diversity measures (good and bad diversities) have a positive effect in the design of ensemble systems, mainly if they can replace the error rate as an optimization objective without incurring significant losses in the accuracy level of the generated ensembles. 相似文献

Today, markets increasingly require more customized products, with shorter life cycles. In response, manufacturing systems have evolved from mass production techniques, through flexible automation and mass customization, to produce at mass production costs. Manufacturing facilities must incorporate more flexibility and intelligence, evolving toward reconfigurable manufacturing systems (RMS). RMS are amid to posses such flexibility and responsiveness and said to be the next generation of world class systems. RMS are designed for rapid change in structure and for a quickly adjustable production capacity. This paper proposes a new methodology (high level process) of framework using flexible and reconfigurable manufacturing systems principles for automotive framing systems as well as to provide a guideline to support the structure of different stages of the design methodology. The process of successfully creating an embedded system is highly challenging and complex; engineers typically operate under tight financial, technical and time-to-market constraints. To achieve the desired objective, the design team need to utilise effectively the most advanced software tools available, in order that the task may be completed to specification in a timely and cost-effective manner. This paper discusses the use of a CASE-tool in an embedded systems design, and reviews issues pertaining to the integration of such a tool into an embedded systems development environment. In this article, we offer a new, macroergonomics perspective on the long-debated issue of function allocation. We believe thinking in this domain needs to be realigned, moving away from the traditional microergonomics conceptualisation, concerned predominantly with task-based decisions, and towards a macroergonomics approach, viewing function allocation choices as central to effective systems design. We frame our arguments within a systems perspective, advocating that function allocation issues need to be on the agenda of all individuals with a wider interest in the human and organisational aspects of complex work systems, including people who commission, sponsor, design, implement and use such systems. We also argue that allocation decisions should form a transparent, explicit stage early in the systems design and development process, involve multiple stakeholders (including end-users), be evidence-based, framed within the language of risk and utilise iterative methods (e.g. scenarios planning techniques). Practitioner Summary: This article presents a macroergonomics approach to function allocation, advocating its importance in effective systems design. Adopting a systems mindset, we argue function allocation should form an explicit stage early in the design process, involve multiple stakeholders, be evidence-based, framed within the language of risk and utilise iterative methods. 相似文献

Positive systems possessing first integrals are considered. These systems frequently occur in applications. This paper is devoted to two stabilization problems. The first is concerned with the design of feedbacks to stabilize a given level set. Secondly, it is shown that the same feedback allows to globally stabilize an equilibrium point if it is asymptotically stable with respect to initial conditions in its level set. This paper addresses the ?2 filtering design problem of discrete-time Markov jump linear systems. First, under the assumption that the Markov parameter is measured, the main contribution is on the LMI characterisation of all filters such that the estimation error remains bounded by a given ?2 norm level, yielding the complete solution of the mode-dependent filtering design problem. Based on this result, a robust filter design to deal with convex bounded parameter uncertainty is considered. Second, from the same LMI characterisation, a design procedure for mode-independent filtering design is proposed. Some examples are solved for illustration and comparison. 相似文献
