The athermal transformation in Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Analysis of the selected-area diffraction pattern has shown that the orientation relationships between the omega and the parent-phase in quenched Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy are the same as have been previously observed for the reaction in pure zirconium. Thus it was deduced that the direct transition has taken place in the alloy during cooling. The-originated -particles were visualized using the dark-field technique. The formation of the athermal omega in the-region of-stabilized Zr-Nb alloy is discussed in terms of the relative positions of the free energy equilibrium curvesT 0 ,T 0 ,T 0 and the correspondingM s ,M s andT s start curves. It is concluded that the omega phase can occur over a much wider range of alloy compositions than is usually recognized on the basis of transformation data.  相似文献

Two R--sialon (R0.6Si9.3Al2.7O0.9N15.1, R=Nd and Er) compositions were first fired at 1750°C/25 min and 1650°C/2 h respectively for completion of the phase transformation. Elongated -sialon grain morphology was developed in both samples after being re-fired at 1800°C for different periods of time. The growth in width of R--sialon grains is controlled by diffusion in the liquid, while the length growth tends to be interfacial reaction controlled. The anisotropic growth of R--sialon is attributed to the large difference in the growth rate constant between the length and the width directions of the grain.  相似文献

No Heading In presence of the Josephson vortex lattice in layered superconductors, small c-axis magnetic field penetrates in the form of vortex chains. In general, structure of a single chain is determined by the ratio of the London [] and Josephson [J] lengths, = /J. The chain is composed of tilted vortices at large s (tilted chain) and at small s it consists of crossing array of Josephson vortices and pancake-vortex stacks (crossing chain). We study chain structures at the intermediate s and found two types of phase transitions. For 0.6 the ground state is given by the crossing chain in a wide range of pancake separations a [2–3]J. However, due to attractive coupling between deformed pancake stacks, the equilibrium separation can not exceed some maximum value depending on the in-plane field and . The first phase transition takes place with decreasing pancake-stack separation a at a = [1 – 2]J, and rather wide range of the ratio , 0.4 0.65. With decreasing a, the crossing chain goes through intermediate strongly-deformed configurations and smoothly transforms into the tilted chain via the second-order phase transition. Another phase transition occurs at very small densities of pancake vortices, a [20 – 30]J, and only when exceeds a certain critical value 0.5. In this case small c-axis field penetrates in the form of kinks. However, at very small concentration of kinks, the kinked chains are replaced with strongly deformed crossing chains via the first-order phase transition. Summary The validity of an approximation 0 of one of the solutions of a set of two linear coupled dispersive wave equations has been discussed. 0 is the solution of a linear Korteweg-de Vries equation and satisfies the same initial condition as . It is shown that for square integrable solutions having a spectral range not exceeding [–, ] the approximation is useful if 5 2t«1 in the sense that –0(t)« (t)(L 2 -norm). is a measure for the dispersion. Microstructural evolution in rapidly solidified Al-Cu-Si ternary alloys   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Several Al-Cu-Si alloys were melt spun to produce stable, fine scale microstructures suitable for superplastic deformation and consolidation. Scanning electron microscopy of the ribbon cross-sections reveal two distinct alternating microstructural morphologies, suggesting transitions in solidification behavior. One structure consists of intimately interlocked -Al and (Al2Cu) phases with dispersed spheroids of (Si). The other structure consists of equiaxed or cellular-dendritic -Al with interdendritic and (Si). The latter was found in the middle portion of the ribbon cross-section when cast at a low speed, and throughout the ribbon cross-section when cast at high speed. The dendritic structure appears to result from independent nucleation events in the undercooled liquid ahead of the solid-liquid interface. The solidification mechanism for the interlocked structure appears to involve multiple nucleation of the phase followed by its cooperative growth with the -Al phase. This cooperative growth is unlike that which forms a lamellar structure, as it results in a branched, randomly oriented network. We postulate that the (Si) phase is the first phase to form from the undercooled liquid, and it is uniformly dispersed throughout the undercooled melt. The (Si) spheroids provide nucleation sites for the phase because of its observed association with the phase. The -Al grain size varies from 1 m near the wheel side surface of the ribbon to 8 m with sub-grains near the free surface. The size of the and (Si) phases is on the order of a m and less. The microstructural size scale appears to be small enough for this material to exhibit superplastic behavior when deformed.  相似文献

Supercarrier effective mass isotope effect (exponent ) is investigated using a two-band model with interband pair scattering. The corresponding repulsive interaction incorporates besides the dominating electronic (Coulomb) part an electron-phonon contribution inversely proportional to the ionic mass factor. Calculations illustrating the behaviour of T c , its isotope exponent , and with doping in La 2–x Sr x CuO 4 type underdoped system reflect the observed tendencies. 2 Both and diminish with doping, the sign of is opposite to . The magnetic state of -Fe particles and the behaviour of nitrogen and zirconium during annealing in Fe96N4 and Fe85.6Zr7.6N6.8 magnetic thin films have been studied by conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy for 57Fe. The crystalline phases present in the Fe-N annealed films were -Fe and -Fe4N, and those in the Fe-Zr-N annealed films were -Fe and ZrN. In the Fe-N films annealed below 300°C, about 60% nitrogen is incorporated interstitially into -Fe and the rest is used for the formation of -Fe4N. In the Fe-N film annealed at 500°C, almost all nitrogen participates in the formation of -Fe4N, leading to the grain growth of -Fe particles and an increase in coercive force. The values (291–325 kOe) of internal magnetic field of iron sites in -Fe in the Fe-Zr-N films are much smaller than that (333 kOe) of the iron site in pure -Fe. Even if the Fe-Zr-N films were annealed at 500–700°C, some zirconium and nitrogen is still incorporated substitutionally and interstitially into -Fe, respectively. In particular, the substitutional zirconium depresses the grain growth of -Fe particles, perhaps due to a chemical interaction between zirconium and iron.  相似文献

Summary The vertical (upwards) flow of an incompressible, Newtonian, viscous, stratified, diffusive, electrically conducting fluid embedded with a uniform magnetic field that is applied in the vertical direction, past a non-conducting sphere is considered. Quasisteady approximation is made allowing for a time dependent buoyancy force. Method of matched asymptotic expansions is employed to obtain the drag exerted on the sphere, for small values of a stratification parameter such that 1,R e 1/3, –1/3,P e 2/3 andR m =O(2/3). The drag is computed for certain typical values of the magnetic interaction parameter and diffusivity parameter. The results reveal the fact that while the stratification and magnetic field have the enhancing effect over the drag, the effect of diffusivity is to decrease it.With 3 Figures  相似文献

The decomposition of the supersaturated solid solution of ZA27 alloy at room temperature has been investigated by X-ray diffraction, TEM and mechanical properties testing. Based on the results obtained, both continuous precipitation and cellular reaction occur during the decomposition process. The continuous precipitation follows the sequence: 1 + spherical GP zones 2 + elliptical GP zones 3 + R + . The cellular reaction can be written: + + . The properties of the alloy depend on the microstructure. After 1 month of ageing, a series of changes of microstructure have taken place. Solid-state phase transformation of BaB2O4 during the isothermal annealing process for both to and to were investigated using a platinum crucible. For the -phase crystal at the -phase stable temperature (> 925 °C), the phase transforms to the phase perfectly below the melting temperature of 1100 °C. Meanwhile, for the -phase crystal at the -phase stable temperature (< 925 °C), the phase transforms to the phase perfectly above 800 °C. There is some difference in phase transformation behaviour between bulk-shape crystals and the powder, caused by thermal stress.  相似文献

Stress-induced 2, 2 and 9R phase transformations in a hot-deformed Ti–45 at% Al–10 at% Nb alloy have been investigated using high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. The 2 phase transformation is an interface-related process. The interfacial superdislocations emitted from the misoriented semicoherent 2– interface react with each other or with the moving dislocations in the phase, resulting in the formation of the 2 phase. The nucleation of the 2 phase transformation takes place either at the 2– interfaces or at the stacking faults on the basal plane of 2 phase, and the growth of plate is accomplished by the moving of a/61 0 1 0 Shockley partials on alternate basal plane (0 0 0 1)2. The 9R structure was usually found to form at incoherent twin or pseudotwin boundaries. During deformation the interfacial Shockley partial dislocations of these incoherent twin and pseudotwin boundaries may glide on (1 1 1) planes into the matrix, resulting in the formation of 9R structure. The interfaces (including 2– and – interfaces) as well as the crystallographic orientation relationship between the as-received or stress-induced 2, and 9R phase have been analysed. A calculation method for the incident angle dependence of the solar absorptance S and the temperature dependence of the total hemispherical emittance H of multilayer films is proposed. The method is based on calculation of S and H from optical constants in the wavelength region from 0.25 to 100 m for thin polymer films and deposited metal. In this paper we provide values of S in the incident angle region from 0 to 90° and H in the temperature range from 173.15 to 373.15 K for two-layer samples of aluminum-deposited polyimide film. The results obtained for S and H by the present method are compared with experimental results measured by both spectroscopic and calorimetric methods. The calculated results of S and H agree well with the experimental results.  相似文献

X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Dynamic-Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Impedance Spectroscopy (IS), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) have been used to the study of phase transition in PbF2 pellets pressed uniaxially in the 37 MPa–480 MPa range. A mixture of and phases is detected and the -phase content at room temperature is found to be dependent on the applied load. The dilation results on DMA, the phase identification by XRD, the ionic conductivity results by IS analysis and the SEM micrographs of -PbF2 pellets show evidences for the increase in -phase content at the expense of the -phase. SEM analysis provided further evidence for specimen sintering under heating at approximately 498 K.  相似文献

The similarity equations for mixed-convection axisymmetric boundary-layer flow are considered. The equations involve a buoyancy parameter and a curvature parameter . The equations are solved numerically and it is found that for large , and of O(1), an asymptotic solution is approached, the nature of which is discussed. When is also large, of O(1/4), the problem, at leading order, becomes independent of the mainstream and the free-convection limit is obtained. This problem is also discussed, including the behaviour for large values of 0, the free-convection curvature parameter. For < 0 we find that the solution can be continued past the point where the wall heat transfer becomes zero (where previous mixed-convection similarity solutions in plane geometry were terminated) with the solution ending as 0. The nature of this limit is also discussed. For < 0 it is also found that there are solutions only in b = < 0 with two branches of solution bifurcating out of = b , and values of b are computed for a range of . The behaviour of the solution for large values of the curvature parameter , and of O(1), is discussed where it is shown that the solution proceeds in inverse powers of log .  相似文献

The -AI2O3 transformation of a monolithic active alumina has been increased from 1200 to 1380 C through structural incorporation of silica. This shift is significant since -Al2O3 transformation determines the limits of the usefulness of these materials as catalysts and catalyst carriers. The thermal stabilization effect is optimized at around 6% silica doping. At elevated temperatures, the material containing no silica rapidly loses surface area, primarily by -Al2O3 transformation, whereas the material containing excess silica loses surface area by classical sintering.  相似文献

Summary The dual solutions to an equation, which arose previously in mixed convection in a porous medium, occuring for the parameter in the range 0 < < 0 are considered. It is shown that the lower branch of solutions terminates at =0 with an essential singularity. It is also shown that both branches of solutions bifurcate out of the single solution at =0 with an amplitude proportional to (0-)1/2. Then, by considering a simple time-dependent problem, it is shown that the upper branch of solutions is stable and the lower branch unstable, with the change in temporal stability at =0 being equivalent to the bifurcation at that point.  相似文献

-SiC was pressureless sintered to 98% theoretical density using Al2O3 as a liquid-phase forming additive. The reaction between SiC and Al2O3 which results in gaseous products, was inhibited by using a pressurized CO gas or, alternatively, a sealed crucible. The densification behaviour and microstructural development of this material are described. The microstructure consists of fine elongated -SiC grains (maximum length 10 m and width 2–3 m) in a matrix of fine equi-axed grains (2–3 m) and plate-like grains (2–5m). The densification behaviour, composition and phases in the sintered product were studied as a function of the sintering parameters and the initial composition. Typically, 50% of the -phase was transformed to the -phase.  相似文献
