为了有效抑制SCM/WDM光纤通信系统中的群速度色散和非线性效应,利用SCM/WDM光纤通信系统中信号经过两次调制这一特性,提出了一种在SCM/WDM系统中容易实现的抑制载波的光学单边带调制技术。抑制载波的光学单边带调制信号具有很大的调制深度,即通过抑制载波可以有效的增大了调制深度,进而可以减小调制器的外加电压升高而激发的一系列有害的非线性效应。实测的调制信号的频谱只剩下了半个边频,有效地减小了光信号的频带宽度,从而可以有效地减小群速度色散对信号的劣化。接收机灵敏度的实测图表明,利用文中所述的抑制载波的光学单边带调制技术可以有效地提高接收机的灵敏度达3-5dB。 相似文献

针对卫星导航现代化条件下的导航信号复用问题,在对正交叉积正弦副载波调制信号和正交叉积方波副载波调制信号的调制方法进行详细分析的基础上,提出了一种新的基于正弦波采样的正交叉积副载波调制方法.应用周期信号的傅立叶级数展开方法,给出了以上三种调制信号的调制表达式和功率效率,并根据这些结果比较了三种副载波调制信号的性能.分析和仿真结果表明:正交叉积正弦副载波调制和正交叉积方波副载波调制都是正交叉积抽样正弦副载波调制的特例,而当抽样指数大于16时,正交叉积抽样正弦副载波调制信号在性能上与正交叉积正弦副载波调制信号接近,但实现方式却比较简单. 相似文献

研究了不同调制格式应用于偏振模色散补偿系统的性能.从理论上和数值上分析了不同调制格式的偏振度(DOP)和偏振模色散(PMD)的关系,结果表明,不同的调制格式对应不同的频谱结构,因此对应不同的DOP灵敏度.另外,以DOP做反馈信号,比较了不同调制格式的PMD补偿性能,数值模拟结果表明,调制格式的信号谱宽越窄,PMD补偿效果越好.此外,差分相移键控(DPSK)的补偿效果要比传统开关键控(OOK)好;CSRZ由于具有更窄频谱结构和载波抑制特性,因此补偿效果要比RZ好;CSRZ-DPSK结合了CSRZ载波抑制特性和DPSK的特殊频谱特性,具有最好的PMD补偿效果. 相似文献

针对现有的正交调制OLS(光标记交换)系统传输容量小且标记和净荷间串扰大的问题,提出了一种以POLMUX(偏振复用)-CSRZ(载波抑制归零)-DQPSK(差分正交相移键控)为净荷、DB(双二进制)为标记的新型正交调制光标记流编码方案。研究结果表明:当误码率为10-9时,系统最大传输距离达到了1 380km,净荷和标记的接收机灵敏度分别为-4.364和-4.268dBm,标记和净荷的传输功率代价均未超过1.8dB,净荷携带标记的功率代价未超过0.8dB。 相似文献

介绍了数字电路倍增设备(DCME)中8DPSK传真信号的解调/再调制技术。提出了一种适于DSP实现的非相干基带差分解调算法,采用该算法不需恢复相干载波即可实现8DPSK传真信号的全数字解调。另外根据8DPSK调制信号的空间矢量图的特点,提出了采用相位旋转的抽样判决方法,大大降低了抽样判决的运算量。最后简要介绍了利用基带信号的包络特征实现8DPSK传真信号解调位同步技术的原理和DSP软件的实现方法。 相似文献

Orthogonal ASK/DPSK labeling, which encodes label information on optical carriers in a modulation format, is regarded as a competing scheme to subcarrier multiplexed optical labeling. However, the inherent cross-talk limits the extinction ratio (ER) of the payload and label sensitivity. In this paper, two optical coding methods-Manchester coding and 8B10B coding-which can remarkably improve the system quality to obtain acceptable ER are discussed. A novel optical packet encoding methodmark-insertion coding-is demonstrated to significantly reduce cross-talk between the amplitude shift keying ASK) payload and the differential phase shift keying (DPSK) label through spectrum shaping. The performance of mark-insertion coding depends on the number of inserted 'marks'. Finally, the transmission over a 40 km single mode fiber (SMF) is compared with optical label swapping for a. 40 Gbit/s ASK payload and 2.5 Gbit/s DPSK label under these coding schemes. The probability distribution of the received DPSK (differential phase-shift keying) signal under tone jamming is studied. The results should facilitate the analysis of the SFH/DPSK (slow frequency-hopped DPSK) system. The results given are more general than those previously published, in several aspects. First, the differential phase of the transmitted DPSK signal can assume any value. Second, probability distributions are derived instead of a set of probabilities calculated over certain symmetrical regions. This allows analyzing performance for arbitrary selected decision regions as well as determining optimum decision regions for demodulating the DPSK signal. Third, the joint probability distribution of both the magnitude and differential phase of the jammed DPSK signal is given. This can be used in the analysis where both tone jamming and Gaussian noise are considered. This paper describes technologies for the improvement of the noise and nonlinearity characteristics of wireless access systems based on subcarrier optical transmission. First, the superimposed subcarrier modulation (SSM) technique is proposed to reduce the reflection noise induced by fiber connectors. We experimentally confirmed that the proposed method reduces this noise, and we found the optimum frequency and power of the superimposed subcarrier, SSM design methodology is also presented, taking both noise and nonlinearity into account. Second, signal extraction with frequency arrangement (SEFA) is proposed for increasing the optical modulation index, because the third-order intermodulation distortion (IM3) produced by the optical devices can be ignored. Simulation results show that SEFA greatly improves the transmission performance in terms of both the ratio of desired-to-undesired signal and the receiver sensitivity under Rayleigh fading. Combining the SSM and SEFA is also considered, for use with FP-LDs or DFB-LDs. These technologies will enable cheaper FP-LD implementation in fiber-oriented wireless access systems 相似文献

The application of subcarrier multiplexing techniques to coherent lightwave systems designed for video transmission is described. The theory of the intrinsic receiver sensitivity of multichannel coherent SCM (subcarrier multiplexing) systems is presented. Specific implementations of SCM coherent systems transmitting 60 FM video channels and 20 100 Mb/s FSK (frequency shift keying) channels are described. It is shown that a simple phase noise canceling circuit can be implemented, which allows these systems to be built with wide-linewidth DFB (distributed feedback) lasers. We report an in-depth investigation of the inter-modulation crosstalk in subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) systems with optical
demultiplexing (ODeMux). Both theoretical derivations and numerical simulations show that the crosstalk in ODeMux systems
mainly comes from the nonlinear mixing of the baseband and subcarrier modulations inside the signal channels. Several key
parameters are then studied to estimate their effects on the magnitude of the crosstalk. As a result, performance optimization

In an analog/digital hybrid subcarrier multiplexed (SCM) transmission, carriers have generally been substituted for transmission signals such as AM vestigal sideband (AM-VSB) AM signals and M-QAM signals to evaluate transmission quality. In practical hybrid SCM, however, carriers are modulated by video signals or digital data, and the amplitude of a multiplexed signal composed of these modulation signals is more compressed than that of the carriers. This causes a decrease in the frequency of clipping of the multiplexed signal at the laser threshold. Consequently, the BER of the M-QAM signal in a practical hybrid SCM is lower than that of the experimental results for the same optical modulation index (OMI). However, it is difficult to prepare many practical modulation signals for experiments in a laboratory. Therefore, there is demand for a bit error rate (BER) analysis method for a multiplexed signal that includes the modulation signals needed to sufficiently evaluate the BER and determine the optimum OMI in a practical hybrid SCM. In this paper, we describe such a BER analysis method that can effectively estimate the BER in a practical hybrid SCM. In practical systems, the BER was greatly improved over the BER of a multiplexed signal of carriers. Furthermore, BER degradations due to clipping can be neglected for the AM signals in setting a practical OMI range. We used this analysis method to study the effective OMI range of AM and M-QAM signals. By assuming modulation signals, the OMI range is enlarged and, significantly, the OMI of an AM signal becomes suitable for setting practical values in AM-SCM transmission. A novel subcarrier multiplexing based carrier sense technique called SCM-CS is proposed and is experimentally demonstrated. It can prevent the contention in optical frequency division multiple access networks that use an access protocol based on a fixed-wavelength transmitter and wavelength-tunable receiver. When two or more SCM signals on the same subcarrier frequency at different wavelengths simultaneously address the same destination node, SCM-CS detects the sum of the subcarrier frequencies by using RF heterodyne detection and denies the access. SCM-CS permits node access only if the carrier sense is negative which means that the destination node is idle. In the experiment, SCM-CS is successfully performed for 6.2 Mb/s SCM signals of the subcarrier frequency of 164 MHz with the frequency difference of the optical carriers up to 40 GHz 相似文献
