为了使光纤激光器同时运转在不同的工作状态,搭建了非线性偏振旋转(NPR)技术和碳纳米管可饱和吸收体(CNT-SA)混合的掺铒光纤激光器。其中,基于NPR效应的腔内双折射引入的梳状滤波器可以实现双波长输出,NPR和CNT-SA的可饱和吸收效应共同作用可以获得调Q或调Q锁模脉冲,因此在该激光器中通过调节参数可以使光纤激光器同时获得双波长调Q和调Q锁模脉冲输出。该双波长脉冲经滤波处理后,观察到1531.23 nm处的波长对应调Q脉冲,其重复率为45.62 kHz,1557.18 nm处的波长对应调Q锁模,调Q包络重复率也为45.62 kHz,包络内锁模脉冲的重复率为18.18 MHz,与激光器腔长相符。该实验结果增强了光纤激光器工作的灵活性,有望进一步拓展其在相关领域的应用。  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate experimentally a multimode oscillation Q-switched erbium-doped fiber laser with a few-mode fiber cavity. The different coupling processes of reflection peaks of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) which act as cavity mirrors allow the different oscillating states. We obtain microsecond light pulse output states whose oscillation and output beams have different mode compositions, including high order mode. Such a structure enables the high order mode oscillation in the whole cavity with an all-fiber structure, which has potential applications in mode-division multiplexed systems and research of multimode nonlinear effect.  相似文献

高稳定性的全光纤化调Q脉冲光纤激光器研究   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
搭建了一台高稳定性的全光纤调Q脉冲光纤激光器,采用光纤光栅和国产掺镱双包层光纤构成的线性F-P腔结构,以带尾纤的声光调制器(AOM)作为Q开关,并用915 nm波长的多模半导体激光器进行端面泵浦,实现了中心波长1064 nm,平均功率1.4 W的稳定脉冲激光输出。在重复频率20 kHz的条件下,以该调Q激光器作为种子源,经过一级功率放大,最终获得了平均输出功率10.68 W,脉冲宽度120 ns的激光输出,相应的脉冲能量为0.5 mJ,峰值功率为4.45 kW。并且该激光器在8 h内的功率不稳定性为1.1%。  相似文献

In this letter, a titanium aluminum carbide (Ti3AlC2) coated D-shaped fiber is proposed and demonstrated as a new saturable absorber (SA) for Q-switched laser pulse generation. In preparing the SA, the Ti3AlC2 powder is dispersed in liquid polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) before the solution is dropped and left to dry onto a polished surface of D-shape fiber. The SA is added to an erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity to modulate the cavity loss for Q-switching. The Q-switched laser is obtained at 1 561 nm. The pulse width of the pulses can be varied between 7.4 µs and 5.1 µs with a corresponding repetition rate range from 41.26 kHz to 54.35 kHz, when the pump power is increased from 42.2 mW to 71.5 mW. At 71.5 mW pump, the pulse energy is obtained at 70.3 nJ. The signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the fundamental frequency is recorded at 67 dB, which indicates the stability of the laser.  相似文献

A 40-GHz frequency modulation oscillation fiber laser is demonstrated and the continuous-wave (CW) output is used for generating a high repetition rate short pulse train by external cavity chirp compensation. We demonstrate second-harmonic generation using a high-energy and tunable Q-switched Yb-doped seven-core fiber laser. The laser is tuned by incorporating a diffraction grating in the cavity, and is tunable over a range of about 40 nm with peak energy of more than 0.34 mJ at pulse repetition rate of 5 kHz. A conversion efficiency of about 7% is achieved using a 4/spl times/4/spl times/9 mm KTP crystal. Due to the tunability of the laser, a temperature-controlling oven is not needed for phase matching.  相似文献

A simple design of a stable multiwavelength pulse generator was demonstrated using a dispersion-tuned actively mode-locked erbium-doped fiber (EDF) ring laser with distributed dispersion cavity. The distributed dispersion cavity in the fiber laser successfully reduced the cross-gain saturation in EDF, and thus, enabled multiwavelength operation. Simultaneous generation of wavelength-tunable 10-GHz pulses up to four different wavelengths was achieved with the same wavelength space of 2.94 nm. The extinction ratio of all wavelengths was above 30 dB. In addition, smooth wavelength tuning was achieved over more than 41 nm when the laser was working at dual-wavelength mode. The super mode noise was /spl sim/60 dB below the signal level at both wavelengths. The laser state was found to be very stable.  相似文献

We explored efficient nanosecond pulse generation in a passively Q-switched cladding-pumped Yb-doped fiber laser by use of an external-cavity configuration containing a Cr/sup 4+/:YAG saturable absorber crystal. By exploiting passive Q-switched regime and stimulated Brillouin scattering, pulses of durations as short as 2.7 ns, corresponding to a peak power of /spl sim/9 kW, have been achieved. The laser was tunable over 70 nm and green output power generation was obtained by external frequency doubling in a KTP crystal.  相似文献

A multimode silica-core fiber Raman laser was pumped by a compact Blumlein-type nitrogen laser. Four orders of Stokes pulses were obtained in the range of 341-359 nm at 280 MW/cm2fiber input. All the Stokes pulses were expanded by modal dispersion. The threshold of each Stokes pulse was measured and the energy transfer to the next order was observed. Conditions for efficient conversion to the required-order Stokes pulse are discussed.  相似文献

We present a narrow linewidth, injection-seeded Q-switched Er fiber ring oscillator, that provides over 600 /spl mu/W of average output power at 500 Hz, with 1.2 /spl mu/J per pulse, before the output appears to be significantly affected by stimulated Brillouin scattering. This laser configuration provides multiple advantages in LIDAR systems because it offers the possibility of broad and rapid tunability.  相似文献

We report on the experimental generation of highly stable pulse trains with GHz level repetition rate in a ring cavity fiber laser. We show both theoretically and experimentally that the generation mechanism of the pulse trains was due to the cavity induced modulation instability (CIMI) lasing of the fiber laser. Coexistence of the conventional modulation instability (MI) and the CIMI in the same fiber laser were also experimentally observed. A lutetium oxide (Lu2O3) film was proposed and demonstrated for Q-switching operation at 1.55 µm region. It was obtained by solving Lu2O3 powder into isopropyl alcohol and mixing the solution into polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) solution to form a composite precursor solution via stirring, sonicating, and centrifuging processes. The thin film was formed through a drop and dry process and a small piece of this film was integrated into erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity to modulate the cavity loss via Q-switching mechanism for pulse generation. The Q-switched laser operated at 1 565 nm with the repetition rate of 75.26 kHz as the pump power was raised to the maximum value of 145.83 mW. The maximum pulse energy of 41.85 nJ was recorded at 145.83 mW pump power. The mode-locked pulse operated at 968.5 kHz with a pulse width of 510 ns was also realized in an extended EDFL cavity. The simple and cost-effective laser should have various applications including material processing, sensing and biomedical areas.  相似文献

Rational harmonic mode locking takes place in an actively mode-locked fiber laser when the modulation frequency fm=(n+1/p)fc, where n and p are both integers and fc is the inverse of the cavity round-trip time, the 22nd order of rational harmonic mode locking has been observed when fm ≈1 GHz. An optical pulse train with a repetition rate of 40 GHz has been obtained using a modulation frequency fm=10 GHz. The theory of rational harmonic mode locking has also been developed. The stability of the mode-locked pulses is improved considerably when a semiconductor optical amplifier is incorporated into the fiber laser cavity. The supermode noise in the RF spectrum of a mode-locked laser is removed for a certain range of current in the semiconductor optical amplifier  相似文献
