A new photonic RF phase shifter structure for phased array antennas is presented. It is based on a single dual-output modulator and two optical switches and optical attenuators. This can realize continuous phase shifting of 0/spl deg/-360/spl deg/ without altering the signal amplitude. It has the advantages of wide bandwidth, fast response time, and fine tuning resolution. Experimental results demonstrate phase shifts over a 360/spl deg/ phase range, with RF signal power changes of less than 0.2 dB, which is in close agreement with predictions. A tunable photonic RF notch filter, which is based on the new phase shifter, is also presented. Experimental results demonstrate continuous tuning of the photonic notch filter over a wide tuning range, which covers the full free spectral range, which is in good agreement with predictions.  相似文献

提出一种基于真相移(TPS)实现可调谐光电振荡器( OEO)的方案。只需通过调谐Mach-Zehnder 调制器(MZM)的偏置电压,就可以实现可谐滤波器的频谱响应的改变,即可实现TPS滤波器。 其中,两个抽头的可调谐滤波器是由双光源、双调制器以及叠印光栅来实现。OEO的输出频 率由二抽头可调 谐滤波器的峰值频率决定,而滤波器可调谐,这样就可以实现输出OEO的输出频率可调。 仿真结果表明,输出频率可以实现5~10GHz宽带宽可调谐。  相似文献

We present a novel RF phase-shifter design with a usable bandwidth of 80:1. The design is verified through demonstration of a proof of concept device, consisting of a readily available voltage variable optical coupler fabricated from LiNbO3, combined with an fiber-optic delay line. A novel realization of a wideband tunable optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on dual-port electrode Mach–Zehnder modulator (DMZM), a tunable microwave attenuator (TMA), and a chirped fiber Bragg grating (CFBG) is proposed and demonstrated. By simply adjusting the power ratio between the two arms of DMZM, the chirp of the DMZM will be tuned, and the center frequency of the microwave photonic filter will be tuned. When the OEO loop in the proposed system is closed, the output frequency of OEO is determined by the microwave photonic filter, and a high spectral purity microwave signal with a tunable frequency from 5.8 to 11 GHz is generated. The single sideband (SSB) phase noise of the generated signal could reach −107.4 dBc/Hz at an offset frequency of 10 kHz.  相似文献

为了实现光电振荡器(OEO)输出频率的可调谐,提出了一种基于外调制激光的频率可调谐光电振荡器。此方案在单环OEO的基础上增加一个由微波滤波器、电衰减器、电放大器和电移相器构成的电增益选频腔,通过调节电移相器的偏置电压可以等效改变电选频腔的腔长,从而改变其输出微波信号的频率;同时调节光延时线来改变光电振荡器的起振模式,通过电增益选频腔信号与光电振荡器自由振荡信号的电注入锁定,即可实现频率可调谐的光电振荡器,其输出信号的频率由锁定OEO模式的电增益选频腔决定。实验结果表明,本方案产生了频率调谐范围为10.05 GHz~10.09 GHz、调谐步长为400 kHz的输出信号,频率在40 MHz的范围内连续可调谐。在输出频率为10.0519 GHz时,其边模抑制比为60 dB,相位噪声为-115 dBc/Hz @10 kHz。该方案结构简单,既保留了单环OEO低相位噪声的优势,又能有效抑制边模,为实现频率可调谐OEO提供了一种新的方法。  相似文献

提出了一种基于微机械工艺的新型复合微桥膜结构,由低应力SiN/SiO2(0.5μm/50nm)及Cr/Au(30nm/1μm)构成。相应的工艺流程较为简单。对影响其特性的因素进行了理论分析,并提出了3种桥膜的平面结构;利用静电/力耦合有限元法分析了各种结构的静电驱动特性以及各阶模态,结果得到了令人满意的驱动和机械性能;通过有限元高频仿真软件对桥膜结构与共面波导形成的可调电容结构进行了分析,结果表明其具有良好的射频/微波性能。该桥膜结构适用于RF MEMS开关、移相器及开关式可调电容和滤波器等。  相似文献

This letter describes the design of a novel transmission line, where characteristic impedance can be adjusted electronically, and its application to a phase shifter. A tunable transmission line enables microwave circuit designers to have flexibility and better return loss which can enhance its tuning range. A UHF band distributed analog phase shifter, as well as a tunable transmission line, is presented. The characteristic impedance of a fabricated novel transmission line varies from 10 to 69.5/spl Omega/, which demonstrates its tunability, and the fabricated UHF phase shifter using this novel line shows the possibility of better reflection coefficient and wider tuning range over the conventional capacitively-loaded distributed phase shifter.  相似文献

为了有效实现光电振荡器(OEO)输出信号相位可调 ,提出了一种基于法拉第旋转镜的OEO。利用放大器 和滤波器构成电增益环腔,电增益环腔、直接调制半导体激光器(DFB-LD)和光 电检测器构成OEO环路。通过光分路器 得到经过调制后的光信号,结合级联光环形器和法拉第旋转镜结构,改变级联法拉第旋转镜 的个数,可以对应得到 相位延迟90~360°的射频(RF)信号,在实验结构简单的条件下,有 效实现了OEO输出信号的相位调谐。实验结果表 明,每增加一组光环形器和法拉第旋转镜结构,输出的RF信号相位延迟90°。当光纤长为2km,电增益环腔长 为0.5m时,得到频率为10.8GHz、边模抑制比大于50dB和相位噪声为-104.8 dBc/Hz@10kHz的RF信号。  相似文献

Based on surface spin wave propagation in a layered structure containing ferrite and ferroelectric materials. Operating characteristics of the phase shifter are investigated theoretically. A broadband microwave photonic phase shifter is presented based on the polarisation properties of a Mach-Zehnder intensity modulator and nonlinear polarisation rotation in a semiconductor optical amplifier. A novel dual-loop optoelectronic oscillator(OEO),which is constructed based on all optical signal processing,is proposed and analyzed.By inserting an erbium-doped fiber amplifier(EDFA) and a fiber Bragg grating(FBG) on the optical domain,the amplification and filter are implemented in the OEO loop.The performance of the OEO is improved without any electronic filter or electronic amplifier.A theoretical analysis is performed,and the generated microwave signal exhibits good performance with phase noise lower than -120 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz and a high side-mode suppression ratio(SMSR).  相似文献

为实现光电振荡器(OEO)输出频率的连续可调,提出一种新型的基于非线性色散补偿光栅(FBG)实现可调谐OEO方案。本文方案不需要电滤波器,且振荡频率随着光源的波长变化而变化。其中,三阶色散补偿FBG可以采用FBG重构算法设计。当光源波长从1 550.6nm变化到1 551.4nm时,相应的色散为340~1 460ps/nm,输出频率的调谐范围为6.5~13.5GHz,实现了振荡频率的大范围可调谐。  相似文献

This paper describes a novel structure for a monolithic-microwave integrated-circuit active phase shifter based on a bridge all-pass network. The design procedure has been developed, leading to a fixed-frequency circuit with large tunable phase variation, associated to a low-gain ripple, and requiring nearly no design optimization. Simulated results predicted an analog tunable 180/spl deg/ phase variation, at 5-GHz operation frequency. The circuit was implemented using GEC-Marconi pseudomorphic high electron-mobility transistor H40 technology, and measured results validated the proposed design method and circuit structure.  相似文献

Advanced radar deception systems require wide-band devices which perform microwave processing of frequency and phase information. A wide-band microwave photonic phase shifter was constructed which is capable of imposing greater than 2π phase shift to microwave signals in the 2-18-GHz frequency range. The maximum standard deviation from the phase setting was 10° (7° typical). The phase shifter was then incorporated into a frequency translation architecture. The carrier suppression obtained was 50 dB with a spurious harmonic suppression of 23 dB  相似文献

The combination of a dipole and a tunable varactor forms a phase shifter with one tunable component that provides a phase shift over a wide range, from 00 to nearly 3600. The dipole, loaded with a tunable varactor, is used as a patch component of a low-profile reflectarray antenna. An economic assessment shows that the production price of the suggested phase shifter with one tunable component is more than 10 times smaller than the price of the traditional phase shifter, based on p-i-n diode components. The design of such a phase shifter is the goal of this paper. Simulations of the phase shift and loss of the reflected wave as a function of control voltage applied to the varactor were used, based on an analytical model verified by fullwave analysis. The results of simulations are in agreement with measurements. The fast and correct simulation of the reflection coefficient from the dipole loaded with the tunable varactor can be used for the design and optimization of a lowprofile steerable reflectarray antenna.  相似文献

A new fiber-optic device designed to steer the radiation beam of a phased-array antenna has been demonstrated. A radiofrequency (RF) signal at 125 MHz is generated via photomixing at the output of a single-mode fiber-optic interferometer. The phase of the electrical signal is shifted over several cycles in direct proportion to a voltage applied to an optical controller. The controller consists of a Pockels-type optical phase modulator located in one arm of the heterodyne interferometer. Rapid changes in RF phase are feasible. A miniature low-voltage version of the device, based upon integrated optics, is proposed.  相似文献

A novel configuration for monolithic phase shifters is presented. The layout and fabrication of a single chip, four-bitX-band phase shifter, measuring 3.7 × 2.3 mm, is described in some detail. The first samples to be assessed exhibited full 360 ° coverage at the design frequency, operation throughout X-band, good matches, and an insertion loss less than 5 dB.  相似文献
