In this article, we propose a chaotic interleaving scheme for continuous-phase modulation-based orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (CPM-OFDM) systems. The idea of chaotic maps randomisation (CMR) is exploited in this scheme. CMR generates permuted sequences from the sequences to be transmitted with lower correlation among their samples, and hence a better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance can be achieved. The proposed CMR-CPM-OFDM system combines the advantages of frequency diversity and power efficiency from CPM-OFDM and performance improvement from chaotic interleaving. The BER performance of the CPM-OFDM system with and without chaotic interleaving is evaluated by computer simulations. Also, a comparison between chaotic interleaving and block interleaving is performed. Simulation results show that, the proposed chaotic interleaving scheme can greatly improve the performance of CPM-OFDM systems. Furthermore, the results show that the proposed chaotic interleaving scheme outperforms the traditional block interleaving scheme for CPM-OFDM systems. The results show also that, the proposed CMR-CPM-OFDM system provides a good trade-off between system performance and bandwidth efficiency.  相似文献

We proposed a novel interleaving technique for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), namely adaptive interleaving, which can break the bursty channel errors more effectively than traditional block interleaving. The technique rearranges the symbols according to instantaneous channel state information of the OFDM subcarriers so as to reduce or minimize the bit error rate (BER) of each OFDM frame. It is well suited to OFDM systems because the channel state information (CSI) values of the whole frame could be estimated at once when transmitted symbols are framed in the frequency dimension. Extensive simulations show that the proposed scheme can greatly improve the performance of the coded modulation systems utilizing block interleaving. Furthermore, we show that the adaptive interleaving out performs any other static interleaving schemes, even in the fast fading channel (with independent fading between symbols). We derived a semi-analytical bound for the BER of the adaptive interleaving scheme under correlated Rayleigh fading channels. The efficiency of data transmission over fading channels in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems depends on the employed interleaving method. In this study, we propose an improved chaotic interleaving scheme which aims to improve the performance of OFDM system under fading channel. In the proposed scheme, the binary data is interleaved with chaotic Baker map prior to the modulation process. In the sequel, significant degree of encryption is being added during data transmission. The performance of the proposed approach is tested on the conventional fast Fourier transform OFDM, discrete wavelet transform OFDM, and discrete cosine transform OFDM with and without chaotic interleaving. Furthermore, an expectation–maximization (EM) algorithm is proposed for improving channel impulse response (CIR) estimation based on a maximum likelihood principle. The proposed scheme makes use of EM algorithm to update the channel estimates until convergence is reached. The simulation results show the efficiency of the proposed algorithms under Rayleigh fading environments where the symbol error rate essentially coincides with that of the perfect channel case after the fifth EM iteration.  相似文献

Overcoming periodic blockage of the received signal and the carrier frequency fluctuations caused by rotor blades and Doppler shift, respectively, are considered the most challenging issues in helicopter-satellite communication systems. In this study, we propose an automatic frequency control method based on an adaptive modulation scheme. We employ a hybrid modulation not only depending on quadrature phase shift keying, but also based on binary phase shift keying for accurate cancellation of periodic blockage. On the other hand, we apply a chaotic interleaving scheme with a hybrid modulation scheme in order to achieve a better Bit Error Rate (BER) performance in LOS and NLOS environments. Finally, we validate the mathematical analysis of the proposed scheme through simulations. We evaluated the performance of the proposed scheme and performed a comparison with conventional schemes. Our results show that the proposed scheme is significantly capable of reducing the acquisition time and working with various velocities of helicopter blades in addition to providing a better BER performance in shadow fading environments.  相似文献

The impulse postfix OFDM (IP‐OFDM) system exploits the IP, which consists of a high power impulse sample and several zero samples at the end of a zero padded‐OFDM symbol block, to estimate channel impulse response (CIR) in time domain. In this paper, the impact of IP length on the BER performance of the IP‐OFDM system is analyzed. According to the analytic results, the BER performance can be significantly degraded with both a shorter length of IP as well as a longer length of IP than that of the CIR. Thus, an adaptive IP scheme, which adjusts the length of IP adaptively depending on the length of CIR, is proposed to enhance the BER performance of IP‐OFDM systems and its effectiveness is demonstrated by computer simulations. The BER performance of the IP‐OFDM systems with the proposed adaptive scheme is compared with that of the conventional IP‐OFDM system over various modulation schemes. Simulation results show that the IP‐OFDM with the proposed scheme can achieve about 2 dB performance enhancement compared with that of conventional systems at BER=10?2. 提出了一种适合于卷积码的新的交错方案块交错方案,并对采用块交错方案的(2,1,3)卷积码在移动图像通信系统中的抗干扰性能进行了计算机模拟,且与周期交错方案的结果做了比较.模拟结果表明周期交错方案不适合于卷积码,而采用块交错方案的(2,1,3)卷积码可明显改善图像质量,大大提高了快衰落移动信道环境中图像通信系统的可靠性.  相似文献

This paper presents a new approach for efficient image transmission over Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems using chaotic interleaving. The chaotic interleaving scheme based on Baker map is applied on the image data prior to transmission. The proposed approach transmits images over wireless channels, efficiently, without posing significant constraints on the wireless communication system bandwidth and noise. The performance of the proposed approach is further improved by applying Frequency-Domain Equalization (FDE) at the receiver. Two types of frequency-domain equalizers are considered and compared for performance evaluation of the proposed MC-CDMA system; the Zero-Forcing equalizer and the Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) equalizer. Several experiments are carried out to test the performance of the image transmission with different sizes over the proposed MC-CDMA system. Simulation results show that image transmission over wireless channels using the proposed chaotic interleaving approach is much more immune to noise and fading. Moreover this chaotic interleaving process adds a degree of encryption to the transmitted data. The results also show a noticeable performance improvement in terms of the Root Mean Square Error and Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio values when applying FDE in the proposed approach, especially with the LMMSE equalizer.  相似文献

高速移动环境下,无线信道具有时频双选性衰落的特性,使得滤波器组多载波(Filter Bank Multi-carrier,FBMC)系统产生长突发差错。将一种基于Baker映射的混沌交织算法应用在滤波器组多载波系统中,根据混沌密钥对发送数据进行分块和重新排列,按照Baker映射规则完成数据交织。此方法可以将长突发差错变为单突发差错,结合卷积编码能有效地纠正双选信道产生的长突发差错。仿真结果表明,在双选择信道中,基于混沌交织的滤波器组多载波系统误比特率性能优于传统基于块交织的滤波器组多载波系统。  相似文献

传统多用户差分混沌键控主要缺点是误码率差,该文提出一种多用户降噪差分混沌键控(MU-NRDCSK)通信方案。在发射端,发送M/P长度混沌序列,复制P次后作为参考信号,所有用户共用同一参考信号,信息信号延迟不同的时间来区分用户。在接收端,将接收到的信号通过滑动平均滤波器平均,再与其不同时间延迟后的信号进行相关。该方案通过降低噪声项的方差来提高系统误码性能。文中推导了该方案在加性高斯白噪声(AWGN)信道和Rayleigh信道下的理论误码率公式并进行了蒙特卡洛仿真。理论分析和仿真结果表明,理论公式与仿真结果能较好地吻合,MU-NRDCSK方案能较好地提高系统误码性能,在混沌通信领域具有很好的发展前景与研究价值。  相似文献

Decision-aided maximum likelihood (DA-ML) phase estimation has been applied in coherent optical communication systems due to its high computational efficiency. However, conventional DA-ML scheme only assumes constant phase noise within each observation block, thus causing block length effect (BLE) which degrades system performance. In this paper, we take into account the time-varying laser phase noise and propose a flexible DA-ML phase estimation method for carrier phase recovery in coherent optical phase-shift-keying systems so as to eliminate BLE. Weighted coefficients based on ML criterion are introduced to strengthen the estimation accuracy. The statistical property of phase estimation error is derived, and the bit error rate (BER) performance is also evaluated. Numerical simulation results show that our flexible DA-ML scheme is very robust against time-varying phase noise. Compared with conventional DA-ML receiver, it can significantly reduce the phase estimation variance, improve the BER performance and increase the laser linewidth tolerance. By adopting the flexible DA-ML method with a relatively larger block length, BLE can be effectively eliminated. Thus, the BER performance can be significantly improved without carefully finding out the optimum block length or the optimum forgotten factor.  相似文献

Next generation mobile communication system, such as IMT‐2000, adopts Turbo codes due to their powerful error correction capability. This paper presents a block‐wise maximum a posteriori (MAP) Turbo decoding structure with a low memory requirement. During this research, it has been observed that the training size and block size determine the amount of required memory and bit‐error rate (BER) performance of the block‐wise MAP decoder, and that comparable BER performance can be obtained with much shorter blocks when the training size is sufficient. Based on this observation, a new decoding structure is proposed and presented in this paper. The proposed block‐wise decoder employs a decoding scheme for reducing the memory requirement by setting the training size to be N times the block size. The memory requirement for storing the branch and state metrics can be reduced 30% to 45%, and synthesis results show that the overall memory area can be reduced by 5.27% to 7.29%, when compared to previous MAP decoders. The decoder throughput can be maintained in the proposed scheme without degrading the BER performance.  相似文献

Clipping is a simple scheme to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. Further, it can be extended to space-time block coding (STBC) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) OFDM systems for the PAPR reduction. In the conventional clipping schemes for STBC MIMO-OFDM systems, the input symbols are first encoded and then clipped. In this paper, a new scheme is proposed, where the clipping operation is performed before space-time block coding. We theoretically prove that the proposed scheme has better bit-error rate (BER) performance while maintaining the same PAPR reduction as the conventional schemes. Additionally, we derive the symbol-error rate (SER) and BER expressions for the new scheme over multipath fading channels. The simulation results show a good match with our analysis.  相似文献

Bluetooth is a wireless personal area network. This type of networks is widely used for image communication. This paper presents a study for the transmission of images over mobile Bluetooth networks. It presents a novel chaotic interleaving scheme for this purpose. In this scheme, the chaotic Baker map is used for bit interleaving and enhanced data rate packets are used for data transmission. In the proposed scheme, the chaotic interleaver can be applied on the whole bit stream or on a packet-by-packet basis. The proposed scheme is applied with 2DH1, 2DM1, 3DH5, and 3DM5 packets. A comparison study between the proposed scheme and the traditional interleaving schemes for image transmission over correlated and uncorrelated fading channels is presented. The simulation results show the superiority of the proposed scheme over the traditional schemes. The proposed scheme also adds a degree of security to data transmission.  相似文献

A multistage recursive block interleaver (MIL) is proposed for the turbo code internal interleaver. Unlike conventional block interleavers, the MIL repeats permutations of rows and columns in a recursive manner until reaching the final interleaving length. The bit error rate (BER) and frame error rate (FER) performance with turbo coding and MIL under frequency-selective Rayleigh fading are evaluated by computer simulation for direct-sequence code-division multiple-access mobile radio. The performance of rate-1/3 turbo codes with MIL is compared with pseudorandom and S-random interleavers assuming a spreading chip rate of 4.096 Mcps and an information bit rate of 32 kbps. When the interleaving length is 3068 bits, turbo coding with MIL outperforms the pseudorandom interleaver by 0.4 dB at an average BER of 10-6 on a fading channel using the ITU-R defined Vehicular-B power-delay profile with the maximum Doppler frequency of fD = 80 Hz. The results also show that turbo coding with MIL provides superior performance to convolutional and Reed-Solomon concatenated coding; the gain over concatenated coding is as much as 0.6 dB  相似文献

Future broadband wireless communication systems demand high quality of service (QoS) for anytime anywhere multimedia applications. The standards which use orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) coupled with multi input multi output (MIMO) are expected to rule the future wireless world. Time selective nature of the channel introduces inter carrier interference (ICI), which is the major performance limiting parameter in OFDM based systems. ICI causes loss in spectral efficiency and results in poor bit error rate (BER) performance, affecting the QoS of MIMO-OFDM systems. The conventional single input single output (SISO)-OFDM-flexible subcarrier spacing (FSS) system offers better performance than the fixed subcarrier spacing systems in terms of ICI mitigation. But BER and spectral efficiency performance of SISO-OFDM-FSS is not good enough to satisfy the requirements of future wireless broadband services. To improve the BER performance, SISO-OFDM system is replaced by space frequency block coded (SFBC)-OFDM system, which adds spatial and frequency diversity benefits to the conventional system. More number of antennas in the MIMO scheme increases the hardware cost, computational complexity and percentage of overhead. In the present study, to improve the spectral efficiency and to reduce the complexity and cost, optimal transmit antenna selection (OTAS) is combined with the SFBC-OFDM-FSS scheme. The simulation results prove that the proposed SFBC-OFDM-FSS-OTAS scheme offers better QoS than the conventional SISO-OFDM-FSS scheme.  相似文献

Focusing on the problem that differential spatial modulation (DSM) couldn’t obtain transmit diversity and has high decoding complexity,a new differential spatial modulation scheme based on the orthogonal space-time block code was proposed and the proposed scheme is called OSTBC-DSM.There were two matrices in this scheme:the spatial modulation matrix and the symbol matrix.The former was aimed to activate different transmit antennas by setting the position of nonzero elements,and the latter structured symbolic matrix by using orthogonal space-time block codes (OSTBC) as the basic code block.The proposed scheme could obtain full transmit diversity and higher spectral efficiency compared with the conventional DSM schemes.Moreover,the OSTBC-DSM supported linear maximum likelihood (ML) decoding.The simulation results show that under different spectral efficiencies,the proposed OSTBC-DSM scheme has better bit error rate (BER) performance than other schemes.  相似文献

介绍了无限长混沌扩频序列的卫星测控系统的原理和方案,对无限长混沌序列的相关性能进行了仿真和分析,从而论证混沌码扩频测控体制的可行性。提出了开环测距方法解决无限长混沌扩频序列测距问题。对该系统的误码性能进行了理论分析和仿真,结果表明,无限长混沌序列改善了传统扩频测控系统的误码性能,降低了传输信号的截获率,为无限长混沌序列在卫星测控通信领域的应用提供了可选的方案。  相似文献

Considering an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) system, in this study we analyze the role of interleavers from their capability in ensuring uniformity of Bit Error Rate (BER) performance amongst the active users. In addition, we also investigate their Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) properties. From the uniformity or fairness in BER perspective, we first consider a generic system and show that for a slowly changing multipath channel, individual user’s BER performance can vary from each other to a great extent, implying that the propagation channel effect is unfairly distributed on the users. Applying different types of frequency interleaving mechanisms, we demonstrate that the choice of interleaving can ensure better BER fairness on an individual user basis. In particular, by introducing the application of cyclically shifted random interleaver, we demonstrate its effectiveness in achieving BER fairness dispersion in individual users BER reduced by 89% compared to no interleaving at 15 dB Signal to Noise Ratio. We then explore the comparative performance of different interleavers considering variable number of total subcarriers, variable number of users and variable number of subcarriers per users. Finally, going back to the generic OFDMA, we investigate the PAPR distribution of different interleavers at various active user densities. Based on the results we conclude that when the total number of subcarriers per user is relatively low, i.e., a system which is heavily loaded with active users, cyclically shifted random interleavers can effectively ensure uniform performance amongst active users with reduced system complexity and manageable PAPR. In all other cases, interleaving with fixed amount of subcarrier spacing is the best solution.  相似文献
