无线传感器网络节点数量众多、自身携带的能量十分有限。为了延长网络的生命周期,需采用有效的策略降低能耗。在研究无线传感器网络节点组成结构、能量消耗以及节点间传播方式的基础上,提出一种为有效地达到节能目的所采用的节点管理方式。该方案采用动态选择簇头节点的自组织、多跳路由、层次式拓扑组织结构的路由协议、快速的数据融合技术,并在实现硬件的低功耗设计的条件下进行动态功耗管理。  相似文献

Energy-efficient communications is crucial for wireless sensor networks (WSN) where energy consumption is constrained. The transmission and reception energy can be saved by applying network coding to many wireless communications systems. In this paper, we present a coded cooperation scheme which employs network coding to WSN. In the scheme, the partner node forwards the combination of the source data and its own data instead of sending the source data alone. Afterward, both of the system block error rates (BLERs) and energy performance are evaluated. Experiment results show that the proposed scheme has higher energy efficiency. When Noise power spectral density is -171dBm/Hz, the energy consumption of the coded cooperation scheme is 81.1% lower than that of the single-path scheme, 43.9% lower than that of the cooperation scheme to reach the target average BLER of 10-2. When the channel condition is getting worse, the energy saving effect is more obvious.  相似文献

The authors propose the method for data coding in wireless sensor networks (WSN) based on the transformation of the residue number system and multipath routing. It enables to utilize efficiently the bandwidth of communication channels as well as reduce message delivery time. It is explored the ant algorithm to search an optimal route of data transmission in the wireless sensor network. There is introduced a limitation for the communication radius of the wireless unit that shorts a number of the search decision modes and improves the accuracy of the wireless network simulation. The correspondent software is designed, it allowes exploring the dynamics of finding the optimal transmission path in WSN in case of different algorithm settings, and exploring the impact of the elite ants on the accuracy of the found path.  相似文献

Robust image and video communications have become more imperative due to the ubiquitous proliferation of multimedia applications over wireless sensor networks. In this work, the transmission distortions on the image data induced by both channel and instant node failures for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are considered. The effect of two techniques and their integration with multipath transmission are investigated to compensate the multimedia distortions at the expense of incurring additional energy consumption and/or wasting bandwidth resources. First technique is watermarking based error concealment utilizing discrete wavelet transform for embedding downsized replicas of original image into itself. The other is conventional Reed–Solomon (RS) coding utilizing additional information bits to correct bit/symbol errors. Performance results obtained from extensive simulations utilizing a communication and energy model applicable to WSN show that error concealment (EC) integrated schemes, especially EC with multipath fusion (ECMF), are more promising to compensate losses than RS-coding-integrated and pure multipath transmission techniques in WSN.  相似文献

Nowadays, wireless sensor network (WSN) is an important component in IoT environment, which enables efficient data collection and transmission. Since WSN consists of a large number of sensor nodes, network congestion can easily occur which significantly degrades the performance of entire network. In this paper a novel scheme called SMQP (Statistical Multipath Queue-wise Preemption) routing is proposed to balance the load and avoid the congestion for ZigBee-based WSN. This is achieved by employing statistical path scheduling and queue-wise preemption with multiple paths between any source and destination node. NS2 simulation reveals that the proposed scheme significantly improves the QoS in terms of delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and packet delivery ratio compared to the representative routing schemes for WSN such as ad hoc on-demand distance vector and ad hoc on-demand multipath distance vector scheme.  相似文献

Analysis of energy-tax for multipath routing in wireless sensor networks   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Recently, multipath routing in wireless sensor networks (WSN) has got immense research interest due to its capability of providing increased robustness, reliability, throughput, and security. However, a theoretical analysis on the energy consumption behavior of multipath routing has not yet been studied. In this paper, we present a general framework for analyzing the energy consumption overhead (i.e., energy tax) resulting from multipath routing protocol in WSN. The framework includes a baseline routing model, a network model, and two energy consumption schemes for sensor nodes, namely, periodic listening and selective wake-up schemes. It exploits the influence of node density, link failure rates, number of multiple paths, and transmission environment on the energy consumption. Scaling laws of energy-tax due to routing and data traffic are derived through analysis, which provide energy profiles of single-path and multipath routing and serve as a guideline for designing energy-efficient protocols for WSN. The crossover points of relative energy taxes, paid by single-path and multipath routing, reception, and transmission, are obtained. Finally, the scaling laws are validated and performance comparisons are depicted for a reference network via numerical results.  相似文献

The energy consumption is a key design criterion for the routing protocols in wireless sensor networks (WSN). Some of the conventional single path routing schemes may not be optimal to maximize the network lifetime and connectivity. Thus, multipath routing schemes is an optimal alternative to extend the lifetime of WSN. Multipath routing schemes distribute the traffic across multiple paths instead of routing all the traffic along a single path. In this paper, we propose a multipath Energy-Efficient data Routing Protocol for wireless sensor networks (EERP). The latter keeps a set of good paths and chooses one based on the node state and the cost function of this path. In EERP, each node has a number of neighbours through which it can route packets to the base station. A node bases its routing decision on two metrics: state and cost function. It searches its Neighbours Information Table for all its neighbours concerned with minimum cost function. Simulation results show that our EERP protocol minimizes and balances the energy consumption well among all sensor nodes and achieves an obvious improvement on the network lifetime.  相似文献

70-GHz-band orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transceivers were developed by combining self-heterodyne transmission with two-element diversity reception. The transceivers were used to study and demonstrate a millimeter-wave wireless personal network that enables cost-effective broadband data transmissions in a multipath channel environment. A 100-MHz sampling OFDM modulator/demodulator was developed for the baseband part. It has a payload data rate of 100 Mb/s using quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) modulation and a coding rate of 3/4 (many other modulations and coding rate are available). The bit error rate was experimentally evaluated when a pair of devices was placed on a wooden table under line-of-sight path conditions. The results showed that the combined use of the self-heterodyne technique and two-element diversity receiver successfully avoids serious signal fading at unpredictable transmission distances. The transceiver with QPSK modulation and coding rate of 1/2 for forward error correction achieves error-free data transmission over a distance of up to 3.4 m. In addition, a successful transmission in 64 quadrature amplitude modulation mode was demonstrated, although the communication range was quite short.  相似文献

针对密集型无线传感器网络中信息存在大量冗余的问题,该文提出了一种适用于分簇无线传感网络的分布式信源编码算法.该算法以边信息作为初始参考信源,利用信源间的相关性来决定各信源的编码顺序和参考信源,然后由各信源相对于参考信源进行相关编码,接收端则根据编码顺序和参考信源进行相关译码.该文同时针对模值编码的方式,给出了一种低复杂度的译码算法.理论分析和仿真结果表明,将该算法应用于分簇路由协议中可以有效地降低节点的发送比特数,从而降低网络的能耗以延长网络寿命.  相似文献

Although the wireless network is widely used in many fields, its characteristics such as high bit error rate and broadcast links may block its development. Network coding is an artistic way to exploit its intrinsic characteristics to increase the network reliability. Some people research network coding schemes for inter flow or intra flow, each type with its own advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we propose a new mechanism, called MM NCOPE, which integrates the idea of inter flow and intra flow coding. On the one hand, MM NCOPE utilizes random liner coding to encode the NCOPE packets while NCOPE is a sub protocol for optimizing the COPE algorithm by iteration. In NCOPE, packets are automatically matched by size to be coded. As a result, it improves the coding gain in some level. On the other hand, we adopt the partial Acknowledgement retransmission scheme to achieve high compactness and robustness. ACK is an independent packet with the highest priority rather than a part of the data packets. Compared with existing works on opportunistic network coding, our approach ensures the reliability of wireless links and improves the coding gain.  相似文献

在无线多跳网络中,本地重传和网络编码已经被成功地应用到多路径技术上以增加吞吐量并减少丢包。然而,在提高UDP传输性能的同时,也产生了数据包重排序和延迟等副作用,严重影响了TCP性能。针对此问题,主要提出一种基于网络编码的多路径传输方案NC-MPTCP,即在无线mesh网络的多条路径中引入网络编码、执行拥塞控制以及使用一个基于信用的方法控制节点的传输速率,提高网络的吞吐量以及增加网络传输的可靠性。该方案使用一个简单的算法,评估丢包率以及发送线性组合数据包的速率,用来降低目的节点的数据包解码延迟和防止TCP的超时重传。仿真结果表明设计的NC-MPTCP有效。  相似文献

In‐network aggregation is crucial in the design of a wireless sensor network (WSN) due to the potential redundancy in the data collected by sensors. Based on the characteristics of sensor data and the requirements of WSN applications, data can be aggregated by using different functions. MAX—MIN aggregation is one such aggregation function that works to extract the maximum and minimum readings among all the sensors in the network or the sensors in a concerned region. MAX—MIN aggregation is a critical operation in many WSN applications. In this paper, we propose an effective mechanism for MAX—MIN aggregation in a WSN, which is called Sensor MAX—MIN Aggregation (SMMA). SMMA aggregates data in an energy‐efficient manner and outputs the accurate aggregate result. We build an analytical model to analyze the performance of SMMA as well as to optimize its parameter settings. This paper investigates a cross-layer design approach for minimizing energy consumption and maximizing network lifetime (NL) of a multiple-source and single-sink (MSSS) WSN with energy constraints. The optimization problem for MSSS WSN can be formulated as a mixed integer convex optimization problem with the adoption of time division multiple access (TDMA) in medium access control (MAC) layer, and it becomes a convex problem by relaxing the integer constraint on time slots. Impacts of data rate, link access and routing are jointly taken into account in the optimization problem formulation. Both linear and planar network topologies are considered for NL maximization (NLM). With linear MSSS and planar single-source and single-sink (SSSS) topologies, we successfully use Karush-Kuhn-Tucker (KKT) optimality conditions to derive analytical expressions of the optimal NL when all nodes are exhausted simultaneously. The problem for planar MSSS topology is more complicated, and a decomposition and combination (D&C) approach is proposed to compute suboptimal solutions. An analytical expression of the suboptimal NL is derived for a small scale planar network. To deal with larger scale planar network, an iterative algorithm is proposed for the D&C approach. Numerical results show that the upper-bounds of the network lifetime obtained by our proposed optimization models are tight. Important insights into the NL and benefits of cross-layer design for WSN NLM are obtained.  相似文献

Because the node energy and network resources in the wireless sensor network (WSN) are very finite, it is necessary to distribute data traffic reasonably and achieve network load balancing. Ad hoc on‐demand multipath distance vector (AOMDV) is a widely used routing protocol in WSN, but it has some deficiencies: establishes the route by only using hop counts as the routing criterion without considering other factors such as energy consumption and network load; forwards route request in fixed delay resulting in building the nonoptimal path; and cannot update the path status after built paths. For the deficiency of AOMDV, this paper proposes a multipath routing protocol adaptive energy and queue AOMDV (AEQAOMDV) based on adaptively sensing node residual energy and buffer queue length. When sending a routing request, the forwarding delay of the routing request is adaptively adjusted by both the residual energy and the queue length of the intermediate node; when establishing routes, a fitness is defined as a routing criterion according to the link energy and the queue load, predicting the available duration of the node based on the energy consumption rate and adjusting the weight of the routing criterion by the available duration of the node; after the routes are established, the path information status are updated via periodically broadcasting Hello that carries the path information with the minimum fitness, making the source node update the path information periodically. By using NS‐2, simulations demonstrate that compared with AOMDV, AEQAOMDV has obvious improvements in increasing packet delivery ratio, reducing network routing overhead, reducing route discovery frequency, and decreasing the network delay. And AEQAOMDV is more suitable for WSN.  相似文献

High-rate streaming in WSN is required for future applications to provide high-quality information of battlefield hot spots. Although recent advances have enabled large-scale WSN to be deployed supported by high-bandwidth backbone network for high-rate streaming, the WSN remains the bottleneck due to the low-rate radios used and the effects of wireless interferences. First, we propose a technique to evaluate the quality of a pathset for multipath load balancing, taking into consideration the effects of wireless interferences and that nodes may interfere beyond communication ranges. Second, we propose an Interference- Minimized Multipath Routing (I2MR) protocol that increases throughput by discovering zone-disjoint paths for load balancing, requiring minimal localization support. Third, we propose a congestion control scheme that further increases throughput by loading the paths for load balancing at the highest possible rate supportable. Finally, we validate the path-set evaluation technique and also evaluate the I2MR protocol and congestion control scheme by comparing with AODV protocol and Node-Disjoint Multipath Routing (NDMR) protocol. Simulation results show that I2MR with congestion control achieves on average 230% and 150% gains in throughput over AODV and NDMR respectively, and consumes comparable or at most 24% more energy than AODV but up to 60% less energy than NDMR.  相似文献

提出了适用于低轮值无线传感器网络的可靠传输算法,主要特点是发掘并利用低轮值无线传感器网络特有的时空相关性,结合编码机制以获得较高的能量效率和较低的传输时延。针对编码块在多条路径上的最优分配问题进行了建模。由于求解最优策略是NP难题,给出了近似算法,并通过仿真分析了不同参数对近似算法的影响。仿真结果表明,基于时空多样性编码的分配算法能够在较低的能量开销条件下,实现低时延的可靠传输。  相似文献
