This paper presents a new tool for on-going decision making needed to assign parts to flexible manufacturing cells, in support of the dynamic dispatching and scheduling required for day-to-day operation. A CAM-oriented modelling system and associated expert modules: Analyzer, Synthesizer and Recognizer have been developed to perform the automatic and dynamic assignment of parts to manufacturing cells directly from a feature-based CAD modelling system. It is based upon knowledge of both the part design features and manufacturing processes. Feature-based representation of components structure and related machining operations is presented. The proposed technique represents a new and generic methodology for integrating CAD and CAM. Artificial intelligence techniques such as expert systems, pattern recognition and finite-state automata are applied in this research. Symbolic strings containing the design and machining attributes of components are analyzed using knowledge of rules and syntactic pattern recognition techniques, then cell inference and part assignment are carried out using domain specific expert rules. Two case studies are included to illustrate the feasibility of these approaches for rotational and prismatic parts. It is believed that this research provides some useful contributions for both CAD and CAM integration as well as parts assignment techniques for cellular manufacturing.  相似文献

An expert design system has been developed for net-shape forging of ax-isymmetric shapes and hard-to-work alloys—helping to cut manufacturing costs. An initial design stage uses overall flow analysis, while the more-detailed second stage uses workability analysis. Knowledge bases have been developed for both design stages, along with a control structure that implements an efficient iterative design logic. Simulation by finite element modeling (FEM) verifies the final design. FEMalso can be used in conjunction with a workability analysis concept to enhance the existing knowledge bases for crack defects.  相似文献

以Pro/E的外挂软件塑料顾问进行了手机底壳的成型工艺性分析,并导入模架设计专家系统EMX,进行手机底壳的注塑模具设计,最终设计出可有效用于生产的模具结构。实践表明,利用Pro/E软件可以大大缩短模具设计和加工周期,降低模具设计成本。  相似文献

An expert system to assist manufacturing engineers in choosing appropriate grippers for a robotic installation is described. The expert system has a hybrid knowledge base consisting of rules, frames, objects and procedures. The knowledge employed in the selection process is outlined and the main implementation details of the expert system are presented. 通过以当前模具企业模具企业和制造流程的分析,提出了首先进行模架设计,然后并行进行架定购和详细设计的思想;根据注塑模架设计过程的特点,引入事例推理设计技术,提出基于事例推理的注塑型架自动设计系统,并对其关键技术进行了详细的分析。按照软件工程思想,给出系统的数据流程图及系统结构图。整个系统基于参数化图形库,并提供了引导用户交互自行模架的工具,能方便地改造成符合用户要求的专用模架设计系统,并可进一步用于注塑模具详细结构设计,可较大幅度地提高模具设计的速度与质量。  相似文献

目前,注射产品开发趋于多元化,许多产品的设计来源于既有的实物,并通过基于RE/CAD/CAE集成的协同,实现快速制造。在注射模协同设计过程中,由于各协同小组对设计的考虑角度、评价标准和领域知识不尽相同,从而会导致设计冲突。冲突在设计过程具有特有的正、负面影响,因此冲突消解在协同设计系统中占有重要的地位,故提出了注射模协同设计系统结构中的冲突产生、约束求解和冲突消解策略。  相似文献

Digitalization is crucial for increasing the productivity of manufacturing systems and processes, where model-based systems engineering is a key engineering discipline to support related design and planning activities. However, knowledge used in these activities is not sufficiently captured through exhaustive simulation-based searches on design spaces. This study proposes a design space model based on General Design Theory to express such knowledge using the properties of topological spaces. A simulation-based production planning case study demonstrates computation of a design space from simulation experiments using inductive and deductive reasoning, and formulation of complex design options for production plans to meet performance criteria.  相似文献

Compression glass molding is a promising manufacturing process for high precision, low cost glass optical elements. However, the conditions during glass molding are known to cause sticking between the glass workpiece and the mold surface. Materials for glass molds need to have high hardness and heat resistance, therefore cemented carbide or ceramics are often used. To mitigate the adhesion problem, a thin coating layer of inert materials is deposited on the mold surface. In this research, two different coatings, Pt-Ir and TiAlN, were applied to both tungsten carbide and silicon wafer substrates and then tested in a real molding environment. Experiments based on the design of experiment or DOE revealed factors which significantly affect the sticking force under the described forming conditions including compression hold time, cooling time and compression force. The morphology of the coatings in this research was also carefully investigated using white light interferometry and scanning electron microscopy. The methodology developed in this research can be readily applied to quantitatively test the effectiveness of different thin film coatings thus providing the optics industry a solution for high performance molding process design. Results on both WC-Co and silicon substrates also support the notion that different engineering materials can be used for mold fabrication if proper coating is applied.  相似文献
