A balanced second‐order dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) with independently controllable center frequencies and bandwidths based on coupled stepped‐impedance resonators (SIRs) is designed in this article. To obtain a dual‐band differential‐mode (DM) response, two pairs of SIRs with different resonant frequencies are employed in the design. The bandwidths of the two DM passbands can be independently tuned by adjusting the coupling gaps and coupling lengths of the corresponding resonators. In addition, three transmission zeros are realized to enhance the selectivity of the DM passbands. The microstrip‐slotline transition structure is utilized to achieve a wideband common‐mode (CM) suppression. Moreover, the DM responses are independent of the CM ones, which significantly simplify the design procedure. Finally, a balanced dual‐band BPF is designed to validate the design method and a good agreement between the simulated and measured results is observed.  相似文献

A balanced dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) with independently tunable differential‐mode (DM) frequencies is proposed in this letter. The proposed BPF is composed of complementary split‐ring resonators (CSRRs) etched on the ground and varactors loaded on the resonators. A balanced stepped‐impedance microstrip‐slotline transition structure is introduced to transfer the DM signals successfully and block the common‐mode (CM) signals transmission. Good DM transmission and CM suppression can be achieved. Moreover, by changing the reverse bias voltages of the varactors loaded on coupling CSRRs, two DM resonant frequencies of the proposed balanced BPF can be tuned independently. To verify the feasibility of the design method, a balanced BPF with DM frequency ranging from 0.80 GHz to 1.12 GHz and 1.55 GHz to 2.05 GHz is fabricated and measured. Good agreement between the simulation and measurement results demonstrate the validity of the design.  相似文献

In this article, a balanced microstrip dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) is designed. The proposed filter is achieved by employing a microstrip U‐shape half‐wavelength resonator, a folded stub‐loaded resonator and balanced microstrip/slotline transition structures. The center frequencies and the fractional bandwidths of the two differential‐mode (DM) passbands can be controlled independently by changing the physical lengths of the two resonators and the gaps between each resonator, respectively. The balanced microstrip/slotline transition structures can achieve a wideband common‐mode (CM) suppression. Meanwhile, the DM passbands are independent from the CM responses, which significantly simplify the design procedure. In addition, a wide DM stopband is also realized. In order to validate the design strategies, a balanced dual‐band BPF centered at 2.57 and 3.41 GHz was fabricated and a good agreement between the simulated and measured results is observed.  相似文献

A stepped‐impedance‐stub loaded stepped‐impedance resonator (SISLSIR) is proposed to design a dual‐band bandpass filter. The even‐ and odd‐mode frequencies and the coupling strength of the proposed resonators can be independently designed and adjusted. A dual‐feedline structure is used to meet the required external couplings of the 2 passbands. Thus, both the center frequencies and the bandwidths of the 2 passbands can be independently controlled. A 6‐pole dual‐band filter with the passbands of 3300~3600 MHz and 4800~5000 MHz is successfully designed using the proposed method and fabricated with YBCO/MgO high‐temperature superconducting (HTS) wafer. The measured results of the filter exhibit high performance and match well with the simulations. The measured insertion losses are less than 0.2/0.3 dB, and the return losses are greater than 15/14 dB for the lower/upper passbands, respectively. The out‐of‐band rejection is greater than 68 dB up to 12 GHz.  相似文献

In this study, we propose a stepped‐impedance‐stub loaded interdigital capacitor resonator for design of a dual‐band band‐pass filter with a large bandwidth ratio. The presented resonator has strong and weak couplings in the upper passbands (UPs) and lower passbands (LPs), respectively, so as to form a large upper/lower bandwidth ratio. Adopting a dual‐branch phase‐matched feedline structure can meet the external quality factors required for the UP/LP. Therefore, these two passbands, defined by their respective center frequencies and bandwidths, can be manipulated independently. A four‐pole dual‐band example filter with a lower bandwidth of 20 MHz at 1576 MHz and an upper bandwidth of 200 MHz at 2450 MHz is successfully designed on an YBCO/MgO superconducting wafer. The filter exhibits excellent frequency responses. The upper/LPs show insertion losses below 0.07/0.22 dB and return losses above 15.3/15.3 dB. The stopband rejection is better than 57 dB until the first spurious passband up to 6150 MHz (3.9fL).  相似文献

In this article, a quadruple‐mode stub‐loaded resonator (QM‐SLR) is introduced and its four modes are excited using a simple approach, which can provide a dual‐band behavior. By changing the length of the loaded stubs, independently tunable transmission characteristics of the proposed quadruple‐mode stub‐loaded resonator were extensively described for filter design. Moreover, microwave varactors were adopted to represent the length variation of the loaded stubs for the dual‐band tunability. The equivalent circuit modeling of the open stub with microwave varactor was given and discussed. Then, adopting the compact quadruple‐mode stub‐loaded resonator with three varactors, an independently controllable dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) was designed, analyzed, and fabricated. Its separated bandwidths and transmission zeros can be tuned independently by changing the applying voltage of the microwave varactors. A good agreement between simulated and measured results verified the design methodology. The proposed filter possesses compact size, simple structure, and excellent dual‐band performances. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 26:602–608, 2016.  相似文献

New multi‐standard wide band filters with compact sizes are designed for wireless communication devices. The proposed structures realize dual‐wideband and quad‐wideband characteristics by using a new skew‐symmetrical coupled pair of asymmetric stepped impedance resonators, combined with other structures. The first and second dual‐wideband filters realize fractional bandwidths (FBW) of 43.2%/31.9% at the central frequencies (CF) of 1.875/1.63 GHz, and second bandwidths of 580 MHz/1.75 GHz at CF of 5.52/4.46 GHz, respectively. The proposed quad‐band filter realizes its first/second/third/fourth pass bands at CF 2.13/5.25/7.685/9.31 GHz with FBW of 46.0%/11.4%/4.6% and 5.4%, respectively. The wide pass bands are attributed to the mutual coupling of the modified ASIR resonators and their bandwidths are controllable by tuning relative parameters while the wide stop band performance is optimized by the novel interdigital cross coupled line structure and parallel uncoupled microstrip line structure. Moreover, the quad band is generated by introducing the novel defected rectangle structure. These multi‐standard filters are simulated, fabricated and measured, and measured results agree well with both simulated results and theory predictions. The good in‐band and out‐of‐band performances, the miniaturized sizes and simple structures of the proposed filters make them very promising for applications in future multi‐standard wireless communication.  相似文献

This letter presents a novel miniaturized differential dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) using a single quad‐mode metal‐loaded dielectric resonator (DR). The differential dual‐band BPF is designed in a single‐cavity configuration with one quad‐mode DR and four feeding probes, featuring compact size. The rectangular DR is directly mounted on the bottom of the metal cavity and covered by a metal plate on the top surface. It allows two pairs of orthogonal modes (LSE10 and LSM10), which can be differentially excited and coupled by introducing proper perturbation for constructing dual‐band differential‐mode frequency response. To validate the proposed idea, a compact differential BPF with good performance using a quad‐mode DR cavity is designed, fabricated, and measured. The simulated and measured results with good agreement are presented.  相似文献

This article presents two novel resonators, that is, frequency selecting coupling structure loaded stepped‐impedance resonator (FSCSLSIR) and π‐section loaded FSCSLSIR. The resonator behaviors and guidelines are given to design FSCSLSIR dual‐band bandpass filter (BPF) and π‐section loaded FSCSLSIR triband BPF. The proposed dual‐ and triband BPF have very compact sizes of 0.13 λgd × 0.06 λgd and 0.115 λgt × 0.074 λgt, respectively. Moreover, good return loss, low insertion loss, and high band‐to‐band isolation can be observed, and the proposed FSCSLSIR dual‐band BPF has an ultrawide stopband from 5.79 to 36 GHz. The experimental results are in good agreement with the simulations. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 25:427–435, 2015.  相似文献

This article proposes a novel bandpass filter with two controllable passbands using a single quad‐mode silver‐loaded dielectric resonator (DR). The silver plane is inserted in the middle of the cubic DR and two degenerate pairs are used to build the two passbands. Because of the distinct E‐field distributions, the silver plane has significant effect on the degenerate pair (TEx112 and TEy112), whereas another one (TEx111 and TEy111) remains unchanged. With the aid of the silver plane, both center frequencies and bandwidths of the two bands can be controlled independently. To verify the proposed idea, a prototype dual‐band BPF is designed and fabricated. Good agreement between simulated and measured results can be observed.  相似文献

A dual‐band dual‐mode microstrip Yagi antenna with quasi‐end‐fire radiation patterns is proposed in this paper. It consists of five radiating patches driven by a single slot‐loaded patch placed in the middle. Meanwhile, two slot‐loaded parasitic patches are symmetrically located on two sides of the driven patch, respectively. In the lower band, the five patches involved resonate at TM01 mode. While in the upper band, all the patches resonate at TM02 mode. In order to ensure quasi‐end‐fire radiations in the both bands, four slots are symmetrically etched around the strongest surface currents of each patch resonating at TM02 mode. As a result, the resonant frequency of TM02 mode is decreased dramatically, while the resonant frequency of TM01 mode almost remains unchanged. With these arrangements, the separations between any two of the adjacent patches at their centers satisfy the requirements in design of the microstrip Yagi antenna in both bands, so as to realize the dual‐band dual‐mode microstrip Yagi antenna on a single‐layer substrate. Finally, an antenna prototype is fabricated and tested. The measured results reveal that the dual operating bands of 2.76~2.88 and 4.88~5.03 GHz for |S11| < ?10 dB are satisfactorily achieved. Most importantly, the proposed antenna can indeed realize the quasi‐end‐fire radiation patterns in dual operating bands.  相似文献

A pair of dual mode independent controllable resonators used to realize dual band pass filter with good frequency selectivity and isolation is presented. The resonators are directly connected to input/output and are coupled through electric and magnetic coupling in two different paths. Magnetic coupling between the resonators is achieved using a common grounded via‐hole between the two set of quarter‐wavelength resonators. Electric coupling is achieved through open edge coupling of the resonators. Two independent resonators with Separate Electric and Magnetic Coupling (SEMC) paths produce an independently controllable dual band filter response and also additional transmission zeros (TZs) at the edges of the pass bands. The TZs are introduced to improve the selectivity of the filter. Filter exhibits desired pass band response at the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) band (1.95‐2.2 GHz) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) band (3.4‐3.6 GHz). Proposed compact filter is implemented on RT/Duroid 5880 (εr = 2.2) substrate with thickness of 0.785 mm and surface area of 15 × 12 sq. mm.  相似文献

This article presents a novel multi‐mode microstrip resonator. Using the even‐odd‐mode method, its resonance characteristics are analyzed and the design graphs are given. Each mode equivalent circuit is a λ/4 stepped impedance resonator (SIR), so the proposed resonator has a compact size and the higher harmonics can be tuned in a wide range. Stub–stub coupling is introduced to split two identical modes and produce two transmission zeros (TZs). Then a tri‐band filter operating at 1.5, 2.4, and 3.8 GHz is designed using the proposed resonator. The three center frequencies and bandwidths can be independently controlled. By tuning the impedance and length ratios of the stubs, wide upper stopband is achieved. Finally, the designed filter is fabricated and measured, and the measured results agree well with the simulated ones. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This article proposes a new dual‐band single‐ended‐to‐balanced (SETB) filtering power divider (FPD), which shows the excellent characteristics of wideband common‐mode (CM) suppression and good selectivity. By employing the structure of double‐sided parallel‐strip line with a mid‐inserted conductor and a T‐shaped defected ground structure etched in the mid‐inserted conductor, out‐of‐phase behavior and high CM suppression can be achieved successfully. Besides, to realize dual‐wideband filtering performance and high selectivity, two pairs of step impedance stubs (SIS) loaded quarter‐wavelength central line‐terminal‐shorted three parallel‐coupled microstrip lines structure are adopted. Meanwhile, two pairs of resistors are introduced so as to realize excellent isolation. To verify effectiveness of the design method, a prototype of dual‐band SETB FPD which operates at 3.2 and 4.9 GHz is designed, fabricated, and tested. Final results exhibit that the new dual‐band SETB FPD possess high selective dual‐band differential mode response, wideband CM suppression, and excellent isolation between the balanced output ports.  相似文献

Two dual‐band band pass filters (BPF) using stub‐loaded open‐loop (SLOL) resonator are presented in this article. A novel coupling tuning method by changing the relative coupling position of the resonators is proposed to control the bandwidth of each passband in a wide range. Transmission zeros are created to improve the selectivity by source‐load coupling. Because of the large ratio of two bandwidths, a novel dual‐band matching method is proposed to match the different load impedances at two passband frequencies to the same source impedance. Hence, relax the fabrication requirement of gap. The proposed dual‐band band pass filter is designed and fabricated. The measured 3 dB fractional bandwidths (FBWs) of two 2.45/5.25 GHz dual‐band BPFs are 6.5%/14.5% and 9.8%/5.5%, respectively. The results are in good agreement with the simulation. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 24:367–374, 2014.  相似文献

Four‐stage stepped‐impedance resonator (FSSIR) is proposed and its resonant characteristics are analyzed in detail. The formulas of the first four resonances are deduced and the optimization techniques are presented on the basis of the impedance ratios. A quad‐band bandpass filter with third‐order filtering response in each passband is synthesized and designed as a demonstration of the application of the proposed FSSIR. Thanks to the cross‐coupling topology and skew‐symmetrical feeding configuration, multiple transmission zeros have been generated out of the passbands. Additionally, the frequency and the couplings of each passband can be flexibly controlled, respectively.  相似文献

A novel technique is presented to design highly compact microstrip ultra‐wideband (UWB) bandpass filters that exhibit high selectivity quasi‐elliptical response. The design is based on transversal signal‐interaction concepts that enable the inclusion of single or dual notch‐bands within the filter's passband to eliminate interference from other services that coexist within the UWB spectrum. The filter configuration comprises of two transmission paths which include folded T‐shaped stepped impedance resonators (SIRs) that are capacitively coupled with the input/output lines to enable signal transmission. It is shown that by combining the filters of different passband centre frequencies an UWB filter can be realised with either a single‐ or dual‐notch function. The theoretical performance of the filter is corroborated via measurements to confirm that the proposed filter exhibits UWB passband of 123% for a 3 dB fractional bandwidth, a flat group‐delay with maximum variation of less than 0.3 ns, passband insertion loss less than 0.94 dB, high selectivity, a sharp rejection notch‐band with attenuation of ?23 dB, and a good overall out‐of‐band performance. Furthermore, the filter occupies a significantly small area of 94 mm2 compared with its classical counterparts. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE 24:549–559, 2014.  相似文献

In this article, a balanced tri‐band bandpass filter (BPF) with high selectivity and controllable bandwidths is proposed. Two differential‐mode (DM) passbands are formed by applying stepped impedance resonators into the design. Uniform impedance resonators are introduced to realize the third DM passband. Moreover, frequencies and bandwidths of DM passbands can be independently controlled by the lengths of resonators and the gaps between them. In addition, good DM transmission can be realized while high common‐mode suppression is achieved intrinsically without affecting the DM parts, thereby simplifying the design procedure significantly. In order to validate the practicability, a balanced tri‐band BPF operating at 2.45 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 4.45 GHz is fabricated and designed. A good agreement between the simulated and measured results is observed.  相似文献

In this article, a compact dual‐band crossover using dual‐mode ring resonators by Coplanar‐Waveguide (CPW)‐Fed scheme is proposed. It contains 2 homocentric square ring resonators on the top layer to obtain the dual‐band responses. CPW feeding lines and open stubs are placed on the bottom layer to feed the ring resonators and adjust coupled strength. The center frequencies and bandwidths for each passband can be individually controlled easily. To prove the design concept, a compact dual‐band crossover operated at 1.57 and 2.45 GHz is designed and fabricated. The measured results show good agreement with the simulation ones results a wide frequency range.  相似文献

A frequency reconfigurable third‐order bandpass filter based on two substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavities is presented in this article. The purposed filter consists of a dual‐mode square‐shaped resonator and a triangular‐shaped resonator. In the square‐shaped cavity, four lumped capacitors are loaded as electrical tuning elements in the area where the electric fields of diagonal TE201 and TE102 modes are strongest. And an another capacitor is loaded at the suitable region of the triangular‐shaped cavity. Square‐shaped cavity introduces two transmission zeros and the triangular‐shaped cavity can suppress out‐of‐band spurious modes. The method that combines the resonators with different shapes and multiple modes into an organic whole cannot only achieve synchronous tuning but also have complementary advantages and improve out‐of‐band rejection. To verify its practicality, a SIW reconfigurable bandpass filter is simulated when the capacitance value varies from 0 to 1.4 pF and measured at 0.7, 0.8, and 0.9 pF, respectively. Measured results show that when the center frequency is tuned from 3.42 to 3.52 GHz, the proposed filter exhibits good tuning performance with insertion loss of less than 2.5 dB and return loss of better than 10 dB, which is suitable for fifth‐generation communication system.  相似文献
