A series of Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped Cs3GdGe3O9 (CGG) phosphors were prepared by solid-phase sintering method, and the microstructure and upconversion luminescence (UCL) properties were tested by variable-temperature X-ray diffractometry and variable-temperature spectrometer. Abnormal UCL phenomena were found, which include UCL intensity continuously increasing under 980 nm laser continuous irradiation and UCL thermal enhancement. After 10 min of continuous irradiation by 980 nm laser at 513 K, the UCL intensity increased 2.91 times compared with the initial UCL intensity. The phenomenon is due to the electron releasing of host defects. The green UCL intensity of CGG:0.1Er3+/0.2Yb3+ decreases at 303–423 K and increases at 423–723 K, which reaches 13.23 times compared with that at 423 K. The phenomenon is due to Er3+–Yb3+ distance change by temperature and phonon-assisted transitions. In addition, the absolute temperature sensitivities of samples are calculated by luminescence intensity ratio technology, the maximum absolute sensitivity of CGG:0.1Er3+/0.4Yb3+ is 0.00691 K−1 at 546 K, and the maximum relative sensitivity of CGG:0.1Er3+/0.1Yb3+ is 0.01224 K−1 at 303 K. These results indicate that CGG:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors can be used as a high-temperature optical thermometer.  相似文献

Yb3+/Er3+ codoped La2S3 upconversion (UC) phosphors have been synthesized using high‐temperature solid‐state method. Under 971‐nm excitation, the maximum luminescence power can reach 0.64 mW at the excitation power density of 16 W/cm2 and an absolute power yield of 0.36% was determined by an absolute method at the excitation power density of 3 W/cm2, and the quantum yield of La2S3:Yb3+, Er3+ (green ~0.18%, red ~0.03%, integration ~0.21) was comparable to that of NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanocrystals (integration ~0.005–0.30). Frequency upconverted emissions from two thermally coupled excited states of Er3+ were recorded in the temperature range 100–900 K. The maximum sensitivity of temperature sensing is 0.0075 K?1. As the excitation power density increases, the temperature of host materials rapidly rises and the top temperature can reach to 600 K. Given the intense UC emission, high sensitivity, as well as good photothermal stability, La2S3:Yb3+/Er3+ phosphor can become a promising composite material for photothermal ablation of cancer cells possessing the functions of temperature sensing and in vivo imaging.  相似文献

Uniform spindle-like micro-rods NaLa(WO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+ phosphors are prepared by the solvothermal method in the text. Controllable morphology of NaLa(WO4)2 crystal can be obtained by adjusting the prepared temperature, PH value, complexing agent content, and solvent ratio. Uniform NaLa(WO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+ micro-rods of 1.8 μm in length and 0.5 μm in width are synthesized at a low temperature of 120°C. The prepared NaLa(WO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+ phosphors present green upconversion luminescence under 980 nm excitation, luminescence intensity reaches to maximum at the Yb3+ and Er3+ concentration of 6 and 2 mol%. The temperature performance of the NaLa(WO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+ phosphors are evaluated based on thermal coupling technology. Temperature dependence of the two green emissions ratio of Er3+ ion is obtained, and the sensitivity of the sample can be calculated, the maximum sensitivity of NaLa(WO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+ is up to 0.019 K−1 at the sample temperature of 564 K.  相似文献

Generally, lanthanum ions doped positive expansion and negative expansion materials exhibit thermal quenching and enhancement of upconversion luminescence (UCL), respectively. Combining the UCL characteristics of positive expansion and negative expansion lattices is of importance for developing efficient temperature sensing systems. Here, positive expansion TiO2:Yb3+, Er3+ three dimensionally ordered macroporous film was prepared by the template-assisted approach, and the Yb2W3O12: Er3+ solution was filled into the TiO2: Yb3+, Er3+ three dimensionally ordered macroporous film. After secondary sintering, the shell of negative expansion Yb2W3O12: Er3+was formed on the surface of TiO2:Yb3+/Er3+ core. Under 980 nm excitation, the red and green UCL is predominate for the spectra of TiO2:Yb3+/Er3+ core and Yb2W3O12: Er3+ shell, respectively. With the measurement temperature increasing, the green UCL from negative expansion Yb2W3O12: Er3+ shell increases, while the red UCL from positive expansion TiO2:Yb3+, Er3+ core decreases. The performance of temperature sensing was characterized by the monitoring the UCL intensity ratio between 525 nm and 660 nm. The temperature sensitivity is about 1.12% K?1, which is larger than that of thermally coupled FIR technology. We believed that the present work is instructive for developing new generation temperature sensor.  相似文献

Spectral conversion technology based on NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ upconversion nanoparticles was extensively used to improve photovoltaic conversion efficiency of solar cells. However, the response mismatch between absorption of semiconductors and upconversion luminescence (UCL) limits the application of spectral conversion technology. Nonstoichiometric WO2.72 nanoparticles display the broad absorption from visible to near-infrared region due to the presence of oxygen vacancy, which is overlapped with the UCL of NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanoparticles. Thus, the combination between NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanoparticles, and nonstoichiometric WO2.72 provides a possibility for designing a novel UCL spectral converted solar cells. In this work, composite film consisted of NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanoparticles, and WO2.72 nanofibers was prepared. The UCL of NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+/WO2.72 film was decreased in contrast to pure NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanoparticles due to energy transfer from NaYF4:Yb3+, Er3+ nanoparticles to WO2.72 nanofibers. The NaYF4:Yb3+, E3+/WO2.72film exhibits the photocurrent generation upon the 980 nm excitation. This novel UCL spectral converted solar cells based on the broad absorption of defects in the WO2.72 host will provide a novel view for photovoltaic devices.  相似文献

Upconversion glasses are capable of converting the sub‐bandgap NIR light into photons of a particular wavelength which can be efficiently utilized by solar cells. Herein, the Yb3+/Er3+ co‐doped fluorotellurite upconversion glasses were prepared. The most intense upconversion luminescence (UCL) under 980‐nm LD excitation was obtained in the glass with Yb3+‐to‐Er3+ molar ratio of 10:1. The dependences of UCL on the pump power and temperature were investigated. The UCL can be mainly attributed to the two‐photon involved energy transfer processes and is very stable to the change in temperature even when heated up to 200°C. The subsequent implementation of the glass as upconverter for a MAPbI3‐xClx‐based perovskite solar cell (PSC) resulted in an open circuit voltage of 0.83 V and a short circuit current density of 0.32 mA/cm2. This application of upconversion glass for enhancing the NIR light harvesting offers a promising way to improve the photo‐electric conversion efficiencies of PSCs.  相似文献

ZnO-TiO2 composites co-doped with Er3+ and Yb3+ ions were successfully synthesized by powder-solution mixing method and their upconversion (UC) luminescence was evaluated. The effect of firing temperature, ZnO/TiO2 mixing ratio, and dopant concentration ranges on structural and UC luminescence properties was investigated. The crystal structure of the product was studied and calculated in detail by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD). Also, the site preference of Er3+ and Yb3+ ions in the host material was considered and analyzed based on XRD results and UC luminescence characteristics. Brightest UC luminescence was observed in the ZnO-TiO2:Er3+,Yb3+ phosphor fired at 1300 °C in which the system consisted of mixed phases; Zn2TiO4, TiO2, RE2Ti2O7 and RE2TiO5 (RE = Er3+ and/or Yb3+). Under the excitation of a 980 nm laser, the two emission bands were detected in the UC emission spectrum, weak green band centered at 544 and 559 nm, and strong red band centered at 657 and 675 nm wavelengths in accordance with 2H11/2, 4S3/24I15/2 and 4F9/24I15/2 transitions of Er3+ ion, respectively. The simple chemical formula equations, for explaining the site preference of Er3+ and Yb3+ ions in host crystal matrix, were generated by considering the Zn2TiO4 crystal structure, its crystal properties, and the effect of Er3+ and Yb3+ ions to the host crystal matrix. The UC emission intensity of the products was changed by varying ZnO/TiO2 mixing ratios, and Er3+ and Yb3+ concentrations. The best suitable condition for emitting the brightest UC emission was 1ZnO:1TiO2 doped with 3 mol% Er3+, 9 mol% Yb3+ fired at 1300 °C for 1 h.  相似文献

Lu2W2.5Mo0.5O12: Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors were synthesized through high temperature solid state method. Under 980 nm laser excitation, the Lu2W2.5Mo0.5O12: Er3+/Yb3+ compounds show thermal enhancement of up-conversion luminescence (UCL), which is attributed to the lattice contraction and distortion from negative thermal expansion (NTE) of Lu2W2.5Mo0.5O12 host enhancing the energy transfer of Yb3+ to Er3+, eliminating the energy transfer of Er3+ to Er3+ through Er3+ single-doped Lu2W2.5Mo0.5O12 phosphors without thermal enhancement of UCL. The green luminescence intensities at 693 K of the Lu1.98-xW2.5Mo0.5O12: 0.02Er3+, xYb3+ (x = 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) samples are 4.6, 4.3 and 7.0 times as that of 302 K, respectively. And through fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) technique, the corresponding maximum absolute sensitivities are 0.00741, 0.00744 and 0.00723, respectively. The green monochromaticity of UCL spectra in Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped samples increase with the increasing of temperature, and the possible UCL mechanism with temperature was discussed. The results indicate that the Lu2W2.5Mo0.5O12: Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors can be applied at a high temperature as optical thermometer with a good green monochromaticity.  相似文献

Here we adopt trivalent lanthanide (Ln3+ = Er3+, Er3+/Ho3+, and Yb3+/Tm3+) doped Sr2LaNbO6 (SLNO) as novel upconversion luminescence (UCL) materials for achieving UCL and optical temperature sensing under 980 nm excitation. Specifically, Er3+ single doped Sr2LaNbO6 phosphors present bright high-purity green emission under the 980 nm excitation. While co-doping with the Ho3+ ions, the component of red emission from Er3+ ions increases significantly and sample show a remarkable enhancement of luminescent intensity relative to SLNO:Er3+ sample. The above-mentioned phosphors and Yb3+/Tm3+ co-doped phosphor (blue emission) successfully achieve high-purity trichromatic UCL and mixed white light output in the same host. Furthermore, the temperature sensing performance of the SLNO:Er3+/Ho3+ phosphor based on the fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) is systematically studied for the first time. The temperature sensing based on the non-thermal coupling levels (NTCLs) exhibit higher sensitivity than that based on the thermal coupling levels (TCLs). The maximum absolute and relative sensitivity for 4F9/2/4I9/2 NTCLs reach 0.16803 K?1 at 427 K and 0.01591 K?1 at 641 K, respectively. Interestingly, NIR emission of 4I9/2 → 4I15/2 transition presents a thermal enhancement, while visible emissions show thermal quenching. These results indicate that the Ln3+ doped Sr2LaNbO6 UCL phosphors have potential applications in the fields of non-contact temperature sensors, full-color displays, and anti-counterfeiting.  相似文献

A class of Yb3+/Er3+ co‐doped NaY(MoO4)2 upconversion (UC) phosphors have been successfully synthesized by a facile hydrothermal route with further calcination. The structural properties and the phase composition of the samples were characterized by X‐ray diffraction (XRD). The UC luminescence properties of Yb3+/Er3+ co‐doped NaY(MoO4)2 were investigated in detail. Concentration‐dependent studies revealed that the optimal composition was realized for a 2% Er3+ and 10% Yb3+‐doping concentration. Two‐photon excitation UC mechanism further illustrated that the green enhancement arised from a novel energy‐transfer (ET) pathway which entailed a strong ground‐state absorption of Yb3+ ions and the excited state absorption of Yb3+–MoO42? dimers, followed by an effective energy transfer to the high‐energy state of Er3+ ions. We have also studied the thermal properties of UC emissions between 303 and 523 K for the optical thermometry behavior under a 980 nm laser diode excitation for the first time. The higher sensitivity for temperature measurement could be obtained compared to the previous reported rare‐earth ions fluorescence based optical temperature sensors. These results indicated that the present sample was a promising candidate for optical temperature sensors with high sensitivity.  相似文献

(82?x)NbO2.5–17.4LaO1.5xZrO2(NLZ) (x = 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, and 20) bulk glasses codoped with Er3+/Yb3+ were successfully fabricated by aerodynamic levitation method for the first time. The structure, thermal stability, and luminescent properties of the samples were investigated systemically by XRD, differential scanning calorimetry, and upconversion spectra. Under 980 nm laser excitation, all samples exhibited green and red upconversion emissions centered at 531, 546, and 674 nm. Results showed that the sample with 15 mol% ZrO2 obtained the most efficient upconversion luminescence and good thermal stability with the glass‐transition temperature as high as 743 °C. The effect of the addition of ZrO2 on the structure behavior and the phonon density in the glass was investigated by Raman spectra, which are the key factors for the upconversion luminescence intensity.  相似文献

The upconversion (UC) luminescence of Li+/Er3+/Yb3+ co-doped CaWO4 phosphors is investigated in detail. Single crystallized CaWO4:Li+/Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor can be obtained, co-doped up to 25.0/5.0/20.0 mol% (Li+/Er3+/Yb3+) by solid-state reaction. Under 980 nm excitation, CaWO4:Li+/Er3+/Yb3+ phosphor exhibited strong green UC emissions visible to the naked eye at 530 and 550 nm induced by the intra-4f transitions of Er3+ (2H11/2,4S3/24I15/2). The optimum doping concentrations of Yb3+/Li+ for the highest UC luminescence were verified to be 10/15 mol%, and a possible UC mechanism that depends on the pumping power is discussed in detail.  相似文献

A series of Sr2.99-x(PO4)2:.01Er3+/xYb3+ (x = .02, .04, .06, .08, .10) phosphors in the presence of impurity Tm3+ were synthesized by high temperature solid-state method, and X-ray diffraction results show that these samples are pure R-3 m(166) space group phase. The upconversion luminescence (UCL) of Er3+ and impurity Tm3+ under 980-nm laser excitation were investigated, and the results show that the intense blue UCL of impurity Tm3+ and thermal enhancement of 2H11/24I15/2 of Er3+ simultaneously exist. When Er3+ doping concentration is kept at .01, both the blue UCL intensity of impurity Tm3+ and green and red UCL intensity of Er3+ reach the maximum at Yb3+ doping concentration of .08. The thermal enhancement effect of 2H11/24I15/2 of Er3+ was observed as high as 3.27 times from 303 to 723 K, which is because of lattice distortion and phonon-assisted transition. In addition, the optical temperature performance of Sr2.91(PO4)2:.01Er3+/.08Yb3+ sample was studied, and the maximum absolute temperature sensitivity was calculated as .00623 K−1 at 538 K. This study suggests that Sr3(PO4)2:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors in the presence of impurity Tm3+ have a promising application prospect as optical temperature sensor at high temperature.  相似文献

Studies on lanthanide ions doped upconversion nanomaterials are increasing exponentially due to their widespread applications in various fields such as diagnosis, therapy, bio-imaging, anti-counterfeiting, photocatalysis, solar cells and sensors, etc. Here, we are reporting upconversion luminescence properties of NaBi(MoO4)2:Ln3+, Yb3+ (Ln = Er, Ho) nanomaterials synthesized at room temperature by simple co-precipitation method. Diffraction and spectroscopic studies revealed that these nanomaterials are effectively doped with Ln3+ ions in the scheelite lattice. DR UV–vis spectra of these materials exhibit two broad bands in the range of 200–350 nm correspond to MoO42− charge transfer, s-p transition of Bi3+ ions and sharp peaks due to f-f transition of Ln3+ ions. Upconversion luminescence properties of these nanomaterials are investigated under 980 nm excitation. Doping concentration of Er3+ and Yb3+ ions is optimized to obtain best upconversion photoluminescence in NaBi(MoO4)2 nanomaterials and is found to be 5, 10 mol % for Er3+, Yb3+, respectively. NaBi(MoO4)2 nanomaterials co-doped with Er3+, Yb3+ exhibit strong green upconversion luminescence, whereas Ho3+, Yb3+ co-doped materials show strong red emission. Power dependent photoluminescence studies demonstrate that emission intensity increases with increasing pump power. Fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) and population redistribution ability (PRA) of 2H11/2 → 4I15/2, 4S3/2 → 4I15/2 transitions of Er3+ increases with increasing the Yb3+ concentration. Also, these values increase linearly with increasing the pump power up to 2 W. It reveal that these thermally coupled energy levels are effectively redistributed in co-doped samples due to local heating caused by Yb3+.  相似文献

Yb3+/Er3+codoped La10W22O81 (LWO) nanophosphor rods have been successfully synthesized by a facile hydrothermal assisted solid state reaction method, and their upconversion photoluminescence properties were systematically studied. X-ray diffraction patterns revealed that the nanophosphors have an orthorhombic structure with space group Pbcn (60). A microflowers-like morphology with irregular hexagonal nanorods was observed using field emission scanning electron microscopy for the Yb3+(2 mol%)/Er3+(2 mol%):LWO nanophosphor. The shape and size of the nanophosphor and the elements along with their ionic states in the material were confirmed by TEM and XPS studies, respectively. A green upconversion emission was observed in the Er3+: LWO nanophosphors under 980 nm laser excitation. A significant improvement in upconversion emission has been observed in the Er3+: LWO nanophosphors by increasing the Er3+ ion concentration. A decrease in the upconversion emission occurred due to concentration quenching when the doping concentration of Er3+ ions was greater than 2 mol%. An optimized Er3+(2 mol%): LWO nanophosphor exhibited a strong near infrared emission at 1.53 μm by 980 nm excitation. The green upconversion emission of Er3+(2 mol%): LWO was remarkably enhanced by co-doping with Yb3+ ions under 980 nm excitation because of energy transfer from Yb3+ to Er3+. The naked eye observed this upconversion emission when co-doping with 2 mol% Yb3+. In order to obtain the high upconversion green emission, the optimized sensitizer concentration of Yb3+ ions was found to be 2 mol%. The upconversion emission trends were studied as a function of stimulating laser power for an optimized sample. Moreover, the NIR emission intensity has also been enhanced by co-doping with Yb3+ ions due to energy transfer from Yb3+ to Er3+. The energy transfer dynamics were systematically elucidated by energy level scheme. Colorimetric coordinates were determined for Er3+ and Yb3+/Er3+: LWO nanophosphors. The energy transfer mechanism was well explained and substantiated by several fluorescence dynamics of upconversion emission spectra and CIE coordinates. The results demonstrated that the co-doped Yb3+(2 mol%)/Er3+(2 mol%): LWO nanophosphor material is found to be a suitable candidate for the novel upconversion photonic devices.  相似文献

CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ phosphors with the doping concentrations of Er3+ and Yb3+ (x = Er3+ + Yb3+, Er3+ = 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, and Yb3+ = 0.2, 0.45) have been successfully synthesized by the microwave sol–gel method, and the crystal structure refinement and upconversion photoluminescence properties have been investigated. The synthesized particles, being formed after heat‐treatment at 900°C for 16 h, showed a well‐crystallized morphology. Under the excitation at 980 nm, CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ particles exhibited strong 525 and 550‐nm emission bands in the green region and a weak 655‐nm emission band in the red region. The Raman spectrum of undoped CaGd2(MoO4)4 revealed about 15 narrow lines. The strongest band observed at 903 cm?1 was assigned to the ν1 symmetric stretching vibration of MoO4 tetrahedrons. The spectra of the samples doped with Er and Yb obtained under 514.5 nm excitation were dominated by Er3+ luminescence preventing the recording Raman spectra of these samples. Concentration quenching of the erbium luminescence at 2H11/24I15/2 and 4S3/24I15/2 transitions in the CaGd2(MoO4)4:Er3+/Yb3+ crystal structure was established to be approximately at the 10 at.% doping level.  相似文献

Multicolor upconversion luminescence materials show significantly applications in materials science. In this paper, the novel Yb3+-sensitized Na3La(VO4)2 upconversion luminescence crystals are synthesized by the solid-state reaction method. Three primary colors upconversion luminescence are successfully achieved in Na3La(VO4)2:Yb3+,Tm3+, Na3La(VO4)2:Yb3+,Er3+, and Na3La(VO4)2:Yb3+,Ho3+ crystals excited by the single 980 nm LD. Multicolor upconversion luminescence can be obtained by simply adjusting the combination ratios of these three samples. Luminescence mechanisms of the Yb3+-sensitized system are discussed in detail. In the Na3La(VO4)2 host material, the Yb3+/Ho3+ codoped system exhibits unusual red upconversion luminescence based on the short decay time of Ho3+ ion 5I6 level, which provides the possibility of three primary color luminescence under 980 nm excitation.  相似文献

Highly thermally stable Er3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ tri-doped bismuth lanthanum tungstate phosphors were prepared by high temperature solid-state reaction method. The structural and morphological properties of the prepared phosphors were analysed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersion spectrum (EDS). Visible upconversion (UC) luminescence was measured by exciting the phosphors with 980 nm laser radiation. The dependence of the UC intensity of each emission band of Er3+ and Tm3+ ions as a function of temperature in the range from 30 to 300 K was monitored. Fluorescence intensity ratios (FIR) of thermally coupled levels (TCL) and non-thermally coupled levels (NTCL) were analysed and verified with appropriate theoretical validation. The absolute (SA) and relative sensitivities (SR) were estimated and compared with the reported systems. In the present case of BiLaWO6: Er3+/Tm3+/Yb3+, SR (0.43 % K?1) related to TCL of Er3+ UC is found to have maximum sensitivity compared to any of the NTCL combinations at 300 K. From this study we inferred that the SR values estimated from NTCL are smaller than that of TCL involved in BLW: Er3+/Tm3+/Yb3+ phosphor. The temperature dependent CIE color coordinates were also evaluated in the cryogenic temperature region.  相似文献

Ho3+/Yb3+ co-doped NaGdTiO4 phosphors were synthesized by a solid-state reaction method. The upconversion (UC) luminescence characteristics excited by 980 nm laser diode were systematically investigated. Bright green UC emission centered at 551 nm accompanied with weak red and near infrared (NIR) UC emissions centered at 652 and 761 nm were observed. The dependence of UC emission intensity on excitation power density showed that all of green, red and NIR UC emissions are involved in two-photon process. The UC emission mechanisms were discussed in detail. Concentration dependence studies indicated that Ho3+ and Yb3+ concentrations had significant influences on UC luminescence intensity and the intensity ratio of the red UC emission to that of the green one. Rate equations were established based on the possible UC mechanisms and a theoretical formula was proposed to describe the concentration dependent UC emission. The UC luminescence properties of the presented material was evaluated by comparing with commercial NaYF4:Er3+, Yb3+ phosphor, and our sample showed a high luminescence efficiency and good color performance, implying potential applications in a variety of fields.  相似文献
