Photonic bandgap effects are observed in a disordered array of sol-gel-derived SiO2 particles prepared via centrifugation of a colloidal suspension. Tunability in the optical response is achieved by infiltrating an organic liquid (1-methylnaphthalene) that possesses a moderately high temperature coefficient of refractive index (d n /d T ) into the interparticle void space. The varying d n /d T value between SiO2 and 1-methylnaphthalene is used to tune the contrast ratio, relative to temperature. The resulting optical temperature sensor is the first adaptive ceramic photonic crystal of its type, to our knowledge, and provides a proof-of-concept for simple, disposable optical devices that are based on photonic band engineering. Novel applications of optical structures that possess short-range particulate order are discussed, in consideration of the direct analogy between photonic bandgaps and X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

以AT切晶体为例,分析了无线温度检测中水晶晶体频率特性的改善方法。由于多种因素都会影响晶体的固有频率,所以为保证晶体温度和频率的单值函数关系,在分析晶体温一频和力一频特性的基础上,通过计算机对晶体的温一频特性进行了修正,进一步对振动引起的晶体频率误差也进行了修正。实验证明:经过上述处理后的仪表可以达到较高的精度。  相似文献

The microhardness ( H ) of single crystal, orthorhombic mullite was measured on (010) and (001) faces from room temperature up to 1400°C. The microhardness versus temperature curves display sigmoidal shapes. The mean microhardness at room temperature is ∼16 Gpa and it decreases with temperature to H is ∼ 13 GPa at 300°C. At >300°C, the microhardness is only slightly reduced with temperature to H is ∼10 GPa at 1000°C. Above this temperature limit, it markedly decreases again, to a mean value of ≈6 GPa at 1400°C. Up to ∼1000°C the (010) and (001) microhardnesses are very similar. Above ∼1000°C, however, the hardness gradually becomes anisotropic, with H (010) being twice as high as H (001) at 1400°C ( H (010)∼ 8 GPa, H (001)∼ 4 GPa).  相似文献

In this work, we propose and test a simple and accurate technique capable of determining the crystal growth rate, U(T), over a fairly wide temperature range by means of a single differential scanning calorimetry run. This method is based on using 50–200 μm‐thick samples with parallel rough surfaces so that crystal growth is effectively unidirectional and the crystallization fronts have a constant area during the entire crystallization process. Growth rates are calculated from the expression U(T) = L·q·DSC(T)/Apeak, where DSC(T) is the value of the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) crystallization curve at each temperature T, Apeak is the overall peak area, L is half the sample thickness, and q is the heating rate. This method has been tested for different values of L and q for three glasses undergoing predominantly surface nucleation, that possess distinctly different crystallization behaviors: stoichiometric lithium disilicate and diopside (CaO·MgO·2SiO2) and a nonstoichiometric lithium‐calcium metasilicate. Growth rates spanning temperature intervals of more than 100 K, including temperature ranges where literature data are scarce due to experimental difficulties, were determined using a single DSC run. The resulting U(T) data were compared with literature data obtained using optical microscopy. The growth rates determined using the proposed method show excellent agreement with the published data for both stoichiometric glasses and only small errors for the nonstoichiometric glass.  相似文献

Temperature dependence of the Raman spectrum of lithium oxide single crystal has been measured over a temperature range of 80 to 1073 K. The frequency shift and the line width of the Raman spectrum in lithium oxide were about 531 and 4.5 cm-1 at 80 K, respectively. At 1073 K, the frequency shift and the line width attained the values of 464 and 112 cm-1, respectively. The strong temperature dependence of the frequency shift and line width was compared with data from some crystals with a fluorite structure.  相似文献

The modulus of rupture of sapphire single crystals was determined as a function of temperature for specimens with orientations favoring plastic deformation and for specimens with unfavorable orientations. From 600°C. to l000°C., the strength of both types increased with increasing temperature, but the increase was more pronounced for the former. Ruby specimens oriented favorably for plastic deformation also showed a large increase in strength. It is conjectured that the increase in strength results from stress relief by microscopic plastic deformation.  相似文献

Using a single layer of SU‐8 photoresist to fabricate optical waveguide cores and microfluidic channels on Pyrex glass is an ideal way to achieve photonic/microfluidic integration on a single chip. To address the problem of poor bonding, a thin nanoscale intermediate polymer layer was applied to reduce the stress generated from the material processing while maintaining strong adhesion between the patterning polymer layer and Pyrex. It was found that a 186–600 nm thick intermediate layer of a specialty epoxy photoresist effectively served the purpose without deteriorating the optical performance of the involved waveguides. Quality photonic/microfluidic integrated devices with satisfied optical performance were fabricated.

利用SiO2胶体粒子构筑三维蛋白石光子晶体阵列,并将其嵌入聚二甲基硅氧烷(PDMS)弹性体内,制备了一种具有力致变色性能的透明光子晶体薄膜。采用SEM、光纤光谱仪、数码相机等对光子晶体薄膜进行了结构、光学性能的表征,并研究了其在防伪中的应用。结果表明:施加拉力时,该透明光子晶体薄膜显现结构色,并随拉伸量的增加发生持续蓝移,撤销拉力可逆回复至初始状态,且即使经历100次循环拉伸,光子晶体薄膜依旧保持稳定的光学性能。将光子晶体薄膜进行图案化设计,通过施加或撤销拉力可使隐藏于其中的图案快速显现或消失,在防伪领域具有广阔的应用前景。  相似文献
